For price and location it was pretty alright, its just a basic dorm that they clearly rent out when no one is living in it, I liked the chairs that rocked backwards so you can lean back without falling, thats kinda neat.

The common rooms are very clean and really nice to work in. It was a great place to work on homework. I was visiting someone who lived there but did not see the actual private rooms.

Extremely basic accommodations, but decent value if you need to be on or close to campus.

The person we talked to was condescending to us.

Being supported more than my imagination when I was in serious trouble.

I'm usually in and out of here within minutes. Staff are really helpful, good location.

There was plenty of rooms available, but I notice the the Wi-Fi was extremely slow. The rooms were nice much like the lobby.

Central location and very close to all necessities. Very pleasant staff, room exactly as advertised.

Always pleasant staff, comfortable beds and totally ok tv. I often wish they had microwaves to go with the mini fridges, but still super great value.

Room was clean and neat. Showers and sink worked well and amenities was provided (soap, shower cap, sewing it). Minor issue was that the room was a bit dim without turning on the lamps as the ceiling light was a bit dim. Not a big deal though.

I enjoyed staying on campus — — it's a beautiful area and very close to everything we needed. Our room was very comfortable (and quiet) and the provided toiletries were fantastic (the Centre's attention to detail in this small part of our experience shows a level of respect for their guests). The only thing I would have liked made clearer would be the hours for close food services. I didn't realize that the Booster Juice in the Marina on the ground floor opened later than the other kiosks, and trying to find breakfast at 6:30 on Saturdays and Sundays can be a bit of a challenge. However, we'll likely stay here again when we need to be in Edmonton, and I have recommended it to others.

My experience in this place is limited to picking up my official transcripts and inquiring about student loans, but I have had a great experience in both instances to merit this place a five-star rating. My experience in both instances is very smooth. I only had to wait 20 minutes at the most before my number was called. I think this is a very reasonable wait time considering the volume of students. The waiting area is filled with unusually shaped couch/chairs. I personally see this playful design as a massive waste of space, but I guess I am simply being too utilitarian.

Nice if all you're looking for is a bed. Otherwise pretty bland.

A crucial part of the community and one of Edmonton's most venerable institutions. I recommend the historical walkibg tour, to learn more about U of A's rich and fascinating history.

Don't have anything to complain about, to be honest. Clean, spacious, easy access to everything!

The environment seems a bit pretentious.

The Campus is too big that it takes 6 months to fit a map in mind. The services are great. One of the best universities.

As a current undergrad student, I can tell that u of a have loads of amazing professors. The facilities are okay, but due to budget cut some facilities are lacking maintenance, e. G. Lab machine in csc. And they almost never come to fix a cracked desk in cs. Another thing I don't like is the PARKING! They will rip you off not only on your tuition, but your monthly parking! And the ticket guys are always working hard to issue you as many tickets as they can! It even sucks for me that as a driver, I am forced to buy u-pass when I'm paying the tuition, even I never ride public transit.

I have spent almost 8 years at the university of Alberta as a P. Hd. Student, TA and Post doctoral Fellow. These 8 years were the best of my life. I love U of A.

I did my BA in this school and currently doing my MSc. It is a great school. Buildings are beautiful. It is really nice in the spring and summer when it all becomes green. In my undergraduate studies, I had to live with large class sizes and low supervisor-student interaction. However, this is common to all big universities and if you really want to learn and excel, you can have a way with supervisors whatever the situation. The class sizes decrease as you specialize in a field and as you go into senior years. Graduate studies are really nice and there are programs out there that focus on professional development on top of your program that you can take advantage of. The university is research intensive and challenges students to be creative and not dependent on supervisors. I would love to do my PhD ; however, I will be like a bird that doesn't want to leave its nest and explore outside.

This is an awesome dive bar. It was better when they had the old jukebox but at least they still have High Life.

Been there, done that, got the degree. Waste of 7 years of my life. If you become a student here, don't expect to be treated as anything more than a number. Profs are rarely effective at communicating in English, and tend to just not care about the students at all. Administration is a complete mess. Hundreds of thousands are squandered every year because they don't know how to manage a budget, tuition increases far more quickly than the rate of inflation, and they have the gall to send you donation requests shortly after you graduate while you're still swimming in debt. Past president was a buffoon who wasted as much money as possible, finishing it all off by building a "President's Circle" out front of the administration building before finally retiring. tl;dr: avoid at all costs!

I received my dds in june 1965. Now the college of dental surgeons of british columbia has ruled that I cannot use the title doctor. even dr scarsdale after killing his wife was still called doctor scarsdale. lawyers who would not survive in private practice are now running the cdsbc. joan of arc was burned at the stake. The nazis killed six million jews. justice is not practiced by this college and the few dentists the cdsbc employs are practice failures. this is not acceptable in a free country.

Consider to change its name to save the provincial name in a good reputation.

I don't think this the best university per the following response from Eva Eber admission advisor "Unfortunately we are unable to consider applicants for the Alberta MBA program who already have an MBA degree from another institution. " Even if you go to Harvard or Cambridge university you don't see this type of response.

Even though I've not gained admission to study at University of Alberta but their research credentials made me choose to pursue a post graduate program. U of A is one of the best in the world.

If you are expecting that your experiences here will be a refreshing free, unorthodox, academic experience think again. Just another manifestation of your stereotypical backward facing Alberta institution, slowly privatizing into diminishing artistic freedom with blatant disregard for the signature freedom of information that universities were designed to expand and protect. Expect the worsening of conservative anti-environmental research in the environmental science programs and the not so subtle snuffing out of social science and fine arts programs.

University of Alberta is the most racist I ever heard. If my life is jeopardized, Vice President, President and their agents will be responsible.
