They were apart of holding canadiams against their will in a detention center. They locked the window so the detainees could not get fresh air. This is a company that is a part of crimes against humanity.

Ive always enjoyed staying here and its newly renovated and @the keg restaurant the food and staff are great!

Wonderful hotel but the staff is what truly makes this hotel fantastic.

Do not use their valet parking! The valet did damage to my rental car in November and after much back and forth with a manager who led me to believe they would take responsibility for it. I got a call from an adjuster almost THREE months later telling me I was responsible for the repair bill!

The Westin Hotel downtown Calgary is absolutely amazing. I had the pleasure of working with them as well as staying there as a guest. Laura Breuer was friendly, accommodating and over delivered on all her promises. I felt right at home. I highly recommend The Westin Hotel for any special events or a place to stay when you're away. Great atmosphere drinking with Calgarians.

So we are currently staying here for the Grey Cup and on our baby moon. We were impressed with the room when we first checked in.
Unfortunately our whole room smells of sewage. The bathroom has a rotten egg smelling odor coming from the vents or pipes. We called and were told they have been getting lots of complaints. Not offering a solution or what the odor is. We then called back 30 mins later because the smells is getting stronger (note our bed is right beside the bathroom) and being 8 months pregnant it is making me physically ill, to be told to open our balcony to air it out. It is winter in Calgary… I couldn't even wrap my head around that. We then ask if there are any air fresheners and were told no. We asked if there was a Different room and yes there was one but all they could say is that we haven't gotten a complaint from that floor yet… How reassuring at 12:15 in the morning. That we would have to change rooms with no guarantee of it not smelling like rotten eggs. My mind is baffled right now. So long for a relaxing luxury night. I understand things happen but to offer no solutions other than opening a balcony in winter… So disappointed.

Great staff, I always have a great stay! I am a very loyal Westin user. I live with chronic pain and Westin beds and pillows are really comfortable and work well for me when traveling. Unfortunately during my visit this weekend I had the most uncomfortable bed. This was very disappointing and made for two sleepless nights.

We just finished a high school reunion weekend at the Westin and the service was impeccable and the food was delicious! The staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. Great job Westin!

The hotel is centered in a fantastic location. The staff is very professional and helpful. However, the breakfast buffet needs a little help though. I have never seen a breakfast buffet that does not have bacon, sausage and real eggs. When you are short on time I need to eat and run it’s nice to just hit the buffet and be on your way. If you want a traditional breakfast you have to order it from the menu and if they are busy or shortstaffed that could be a while.

Fantastic service, free upgrade, and great on site Keg Steakhouse with top quality food and atmosphere. Very nice and professional service from Salvatore.

The Westin Calgary is an excellent hotel. The rooms, food, and customer service was exceptional. We were especially impressed with Max, who took care of us, when my husband was sick. Because my husband was sick, we had to stay an extra two days at the hotel. He helped us acquire transportation to our next destination to meet up with our tour group. He ensured that we were comfortable at the hotel and had all we needed. The hotel even made special chicken noodle soup for my husband as he recovered. I highly recommend this hotel. The Westin is also centrally located in downtown Calgary. Accessibility to shopping and points of interest.

My mom and I stayed here expecting a super nice experience, however it did not meet my expectations. Parking is not free, and MANY hotels in the downtown area are free (as I've stayed in a lot of hotels in Calgary — for way less money) The parking lots outside are actually cheaper than what the hotel charges (they charged us almost $30/night! ). We did not even know parking was to be paid for as there was no indication on our itinerary. Also, since we were staying on a Sunday the street parking was even free! This hotel is "upscale" and charges a lot per night so I found paying for parking a little ridiculous. The pool is located on the top floor with amazing views, however the saunas aren't co-ed, there is not hot tub and the gym is very small! So when I tried to enjoy myself, I couldn't really do so as there were way to many people using the facilities. In my opinion there are plenty of other/better places to stay downtown if needed. Don't waste your money on this one.

Staying here with my wife for our wedding. We had an amazing experience so far. The staff are very accommodating and the service is phenomenal. Any requests we had were met withing a few minutes. I felt the need to tip everyone simply because they truly deserve it. I had a total two nights stay and I truly felt respected and taken care of by the staff. Good job everyone keep it up.

The staff at the Westin Calgary are great. Always very friendly and professional. The rooms are modern and renovated. The usual comfortable Westin beds and amenities. Location is great, there's a number of restaurants and bars nearby. Definitely recommend.

Amazing hotel! I try to book it as much as I can when in Calgary! Food is great, and it’s close to so many other great restaurants if you don’t want to dine at the hotel! The ladies at front desk are always incredibly friendly and helpful! The only thing I’ll say is that I’ve never been upgraded as a Platinum Elite member there. They told me they did once, but the room was actually smaller than usual and I don’t remember it being a better view. Regardless the service is great.

The most comfortable bed I had the chance to sleep in.

Nice hotel right in the heart of Calgary. Prime location. Rooms are a touch small. Bathrooms could use an update or fixing. Overall a typical Westin. 4 stars for the amazing staff and great location.

Very nice hotel. Big rooms. Great downtown location. Easy walking to restaurants and easy access to the path along the river.

I've used the Westin banquet rooms for events that I've attended. They are great spaces with plenty of room to arrange seating as needed. Their catering is pretty simple but gets the job done. The hotel itself is quite nice, upscale and the staff are very friendly. They are always saying hello and asking if you need help finding anything. The Westin is a great hotel to stay in or host events in downtown Calgary.

I stayed at the Westin in Calgary for a conference. The room we were in was great. So nice to have windows could be opened for fresh air. Wonderful service a staff that went beyond expectations.
Our conference rooms were good size with room to move easily between tables. Sound systems were good in our various meeting rooms making it easy to hear in all areas of the rooms.
Our conference food was phenomenal. For those of us with food restrictions the staff went above and beyond expectations. Fresh veggies and fruit were appreciated. Wonderful food and great service. These people in food services were outgoing and friendly.
All of the staff made our stay a great experience. Thank you for your service.

We just recently stayed at the westin, when we were checking we were greeted by Chelsea who was absolutely amazing. She asked us what we were in town for. It was my husbands birthday as soon as she knew she upgraded us to a suite which we already thought was amazing of her. Later that night when we came home from supper there was a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us with a hand written note wishing him happy birthday. They went above and beyond and we will continue to return to the westin for our stay. Absolutely amazing service!

The hotel is nice and in a location that is easy access to lots of restaurants. We had a business meeting here all week long. The reason for 4-stars instead of 5-stars is that the breakfast items were the same thing every single day. It was quite boring to be eating eggs, bacon, and sausage over and over and over again. It would have been nice to have something different each morning.

It's a very nice place to hold conferences and big group events. Hospitality is great. They have really good food and a great place to stay.

Perfect location near eau Claire and the river park. Great service. The Keg is located inside — always excellent service and food there. The Starbucks in the lobby closes at 3 on weekends, which is too bad. Nice lounge in the lobby, but it's not open on the weekends, unfortunately. It's a nice, bright alternative to the Keg, which is cozy, but dark. Will return!

Typical Westin — above average hotel in a good location. Quiet, comfortable bed, well kept rooms, good hotel restaurant (get the tuna tacos — you're welcome). Seemed strange that they didn't have pen and paper in the room, but I was able to get that from the front desk. This might not be their fault but the Starbucks in the hotel doesn't open until 7:30am on weekends, which was strange. We had a whole crew of people that had to brave the — 20 degree cold to get coffee because we were leaving the hotel at 7am.

A friend was visiting for the weekend and stayed here. We met up for dinner and drinks. It was great! The place had a nice atmosphere about it, the food was pretty delicious, and the drinks were made perfectly! Would definitely recommend checking it out!

Stayed here while on business visit. Good bar and breakfast. Hotel is well maintained. Located in downtown, close to many bars and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff. There are 2 towers joined to each other, but they are not inter-connected floor to floor. If you want to go to rooftop pool and if you are not in same tower you need to go via ground floor.

Mark Mapatac I just had my company Christmas Party there. It's was great, so fun! The staff was great and friendly. They had a fun Casino and Alliance Entertainment was so awesome and entertaining! Thank you so much to the Westin Hotel and Alliance Entertainment to a night I will never forget!

Stayed there with my 10-year old daughter for one night. The room was average but the washroom was a bit on the too small side. The mattresses were too soft for my liking so I didn't sleep well and woke up with a sore back. Had breakfast the next day with my daughter at Essence. The food and milk was running out with no one to replenish them. I had to wait each time I wanted something as nobody was around to provide service. I had to ask for juice and water constantly, without getting any refills. I actually left the place thirsty because there was nobody to fill my glass with water. My daughter wanted some water and she didn't get a glass. The milk ran out when she wanted cereal as well. I always use the Edmonton Westin for business trips and their service is way better and more prompt, especially for the breakfast buffet. Plus they have juices and water readily available for people to just help themselves. Whereas, in Calgary, there isn't anybody to serve you and you're parched the whole time. Very disappointing experience for me.

We chose to come to Calgary and the Westin to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. When we spoke with the reservation representative on the phone, she asked if we were coming for a special occasion and we advised her of our anniversary. We had a great stay which was augmented by the fact that they provided free parking and an upgraded room, as well as champagne and goodies in our room. They went the extra mile to make our stay fabulous! We would definitely recommend the Westin and we would certainly stay here again!

Brilliant attention to details. Very comfortable and clean room. Bathroom relatively small, and showerhead lacked water pressure, but again, the small details like lavender spray to help you sleep (Sleep Well Lavender Balm) and food available for purchase to help you sleep better (Sleep Well Menu) made the stay very surprisingly pleasant. Great customer service.

The service at this hotel is top notch. Max at the front desk is professional and fast. Sonya who is in charge of food allergies has been on point marking sure I get enough to eat. The location is great as it's connected to +15 skywalks which means we don't have to feeeze outside. I would highly recommend.

I stayed here on a business trip for two nights this summer and quite enjoyed it. The staff was very kind and helpful. The rooms were large and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is centrally located so everywhere you would want to go is a short walk or uber ride away. The restaurant is the Keg Steakhouse and the food is delicious.

Great place for a conference, hotel is showing its age though. Valet is top notch and food service was excellent. With some Renovations this could be a world class hotel.

I visited for a company town hall meeting. The conference room that we used was more than adequate. Lots of space, clean and very professional. Staff was very helpful. Hotel overall starting to show its age, but still functional.

Got a king size bed, normal suite. No complaints. Staff was great and helpful if we had questions. The room was in great condition. Was there for a party and the venue looked awesome as well.

Hotel is high quality and staff is nice. They will try their best to accommodate your needs. I will definitely recommend my peers for this hotel. The only thing I didn't like is the parking. Their parking is shared with the public. If there is a big event, it will be full. They also have another parking lot at the back of the building, across the street. However, it is not as convenient if you are carrying heavy luggage.

Great location right downtown. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. They even provide you Starbucks coffee in the room. Friendly accommodating staff and the option to have breakfast ordered in advance and have it delivered to your room at a time. E of your choosing. Overall a great hotel choice.

My stay at the Westin was excellent. The room was neat and stacked with amenities. I really loved the Westin signature white tea bath and body line. The food was delicious and was served very quickly after placing the order. I would highly recommend the freshly baked bagel with cream cheese from the breakfast menu. The high speed internet provided speedy and seamless connectivity. The hotel staff was warm and hospitable. I would definitely recommend the Westin.

I reserved a hotel room at the Westin approximately 1.5 weeks before my stay. One of the reasons why I chose to stay at the Westin instead of another downtown Calgary hotel was because the hotel website advertised late check-out at 3PM on weekends. This timing worked perfectly with my travel plans. When my partner and I arrived at the Westin, the front desk clerk told me he could not accommodate a late departure at 3PM (even though it was requested on my reservation at the time of booking). After arguing with me for a few minutes, the clerk said I could check out at 2:30PM. Then a few moments later he said I could in fact check-out at 3PM, but said I would never be offered late check-out again at the Westin. Given that it's only a 30 minute time difference between 2:30PM and 3PM, I'm not sure why the clerk didn't initially offer the 3PM check-out that was advertised to begin with. My whole check-in experience did not meet my expectations and in my opinion, was an example of very poor customer service. The hotel room was clean and very comfortable. I had a good sleep but was interrupted by cleaning staff twice in the morning (first at approx 9AM and again at 11:30AM). This was incredibly frustrating, especially given the reluctance of the hotel to offer us late check-out for or stay. Due to the noise and regular interruptions, my partner and I left the Westin around 12PM. We ended up changing our travel plans and will likely not visit the Westin again.

This place had amazing service. Room service is incredibly quick. Rooms are clean and classy. The hotel is situated near lots of restaurants within walking distance. I would highly recommend. P. S. Starbucks downstairs at hotel.

Very little to complain about with this hotel. Having The Keg and A Starbucks in the building and a Tim Horton's across the street are an added bonus. Customer service was very friendly and professional. I would definitely stay here again.

The IHS conference was informative, and the accommodation at the westin was great!

Comfy and clean rooms. Complimentary Dasani water bottles. Great view of the city. Walking distance to malls and parks. Only thing I didn't like were the bathroom doors.

The westin was a venue where we had our awards gala. They do a great job accomodating everything we need.

I really enjoyed my stay at this Westin in downtown Calgary. The front desk staff were amazingly nice in an authentic way and the service was excellent. The rooms are large and comfortable. The bed is ridiculously comfortable — more comfortable than my mattress at home! I also appreciated the fitness facilities and their "Green Choice" option, where you can decide to not have linens/towels exchanged every day to save energy costs.

Beautiful ballroom, and great brunch provided by conference services. Was here for a charitable event.

I was only at the Westin for the evening, attending the Kids Cancer Care Disco Gala but I had a wonderful time. The catering provided by the Westin looked amazing. Clean washrooms, tidy hallways, great place to host an event!

Great Hotel very cousy, awesome downtown view. The entrance leather sofas are worn out.

The rooms are very clean and the beds are amazingly comfortable, however, I noticed that with four people in a room, there is a lack of towel racks and the bathroom is quite small. The views from the rooms are very nice!

The location is pretty good — in downtown and close to the mall in addition to many other stores. The rooms are also fairly nice, although I'm not too fond of the bathroom door that doubles as the closest door.

Rooms are well laid out and spacious. Staff are friendly and helpful. The gym was a bit hard to find. Need better signage off the lobby. Also, for parking, park on level D if you can't use stairs. Level C has only a flight of stairs to get to lobby or elevators. Something to consider if you need the mobility access.

Couldn't have been more disappointed. Travelling on business, paid $455.00 for one night plus taxes and parking! just to be downtown walking distance to my meeting location. I was offered an upgrade to the executive tower and I accepted. Mistake. The tile in the tub had mildew at eye level in the bath, the room only had double beds and I had a view from the 4th floor to the top of a walkway. Of course when I checked out I was asked how may stay was. I listed my issues with the clerk who could only say "very sorry for your experience"; really, that's a very lame response. This Westin is off my list to stay at permanently.

Shower did not have a door. Black mold in the creases of the shower, yellow stains on the bathroom walls. Room was freezing heat wouldn't go past 24 degrees Power outlet in washroom didn't work. Knees hit the wall when trying to go to the washroom They took TWO separate deposits of $100 off our credit cards at check in. Room service was so overpriced and we didn't get what the meals were supposed to come with. Charged 4 times for parking when should have only been two times. One car for two nights. SO not happy, we travel a lot and were so disappointed, horrible customer service.

Their gym has enough room for 2.5 people to work out at the same time. Also, I forgot my credit card for incidentals so they debited my card hundreds of dollars and gave it back to me in CAD cash at the end of my stay. I had to pay for the CAD to US transfer out of pocket. Go to Local, a great bar with a lot of locals.

Really impressed with this hotel. Check in was excellent, with the option to select upper or lower floor room, near or far from elevator and they even asked if I had a preference of direction to face! A new Green program gave me the option to decline housekeeping (which I usually do anyways) in exchange for a $5 restaurant credit. The staff took the time to direct me to the elevators and describe which direction to turn after exiting. Great room with very modern decor, AMAZING BED, super comfy pillows and Starbucks in the room. Rain shower in an updated bathroom (small but nice). I really noticed the service driven approach of this hotel.
