Wonderful hotel spotlessly clean with an excellent continental breakfast which includes champagne. The staff Anna & Lara in particular are lovely staff members who go that extra mile to make your stay extra special nothing is too much for them. I would recommend this hotel which is ideally positioned for a fantastic break.

Could not fault our mini break at this hotel. Fabulously friendly staff especially Shelly who greeted us as we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. I will be back with my son who will love everything the beautiful city has to offer and we will most definitely be using the hotel as our base.

Lovely facade & comfy rooms.

Beautiful and quiet hotel and yet within walking distance of everything. They got our room ready early as we flew all night from Canada which is huge when you’re so tired.

The hotel is at a really good location in central Vienna near the Rathaus. The communual area is ok but the rooms whilst clean and tidy do feel a little run down and basic. Furthermore the hotel lacks atmosphere. The nearby 25 hour hotel looks far buzzier and more modern for perhaps not much more money. If I could have given 2.5 star's I would have done.

It has been a while since we stayed at the Hotel Josefshof, but I really wanted to mention once again how satisfied we were. The situation could not be better. Very central yet quiet. The room was in very good condition and clean. The breakfast is outstanding and offers something for every taste. In addition, an extremely friendly and dedicated hotel team (which is not always a matter of course in Vienna). I can only highly recommend the hotel and will try to book a room here for the next stay in Vienna.

Recently remodeled. Very nice place. Nothing extravagant. The room still have that smell of new paint. The air conditioner could barely keep up with the heat in August.

My wife and I stayed this hotel for 7 nights (from June 26 2018 to July 03 2018). The room was plenty big, comfortable and nice. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We’ve got help on English and even in Russian. The breakfast was good (big choice)

Really nice hotel very close to all the museums that you would want to see, however the only complaint that I have is that the mini fridge doesn't work so it is hard to have drinks chilled in the room. Not a serious problem at all. Great service and excellent rooms.

All very tight, somewhat come in the years that fits purity, but far too expensive compared to other hotels in this price range.
Breakfast is actually not very inviting, access to the food is too narrow or too close. The space too small.
A bathtub shower isn't that great either, especially when after showering the floor is full of water.
I paid 190 Euro/s a night, but I do not think I should pay more than 100 for what has been done.

Nice hotel, good breakfast, friendly staff, guest supplies in room are alright. But… Rooms are very hot, I stay in and I am unable to sleep. I complaint but no sollution was offered. I wouldn't stay here another time. Also the Wi-Fi is bad. One has to login every half an hour or so to connect to the hotel Wi-Fi-network. Location is good, decor bit dated but charming. Just the bloody hot temperature in the room.

Beautiful hotel just behind the town hall The reception was very friendly and the foyer is modern.
The rooms are no longer up-to-date but clean and quiet.
Breakfast is balanced and there should be something for everyone.
The garage has not been built around conditionally for big cars, but with something ranked it works out.
Note: By the way, Wi-Fi went impeccable with us.

Nice hotel, fancy stylish rooms, but unfortunately VERY unpolite person at the reception. She should welcome the guests and instead she treats them in a rude way. My experience: when I arrived at the reception, the lady looked at me like I was disturbing her and didn't say any typical welcome words by hotel recptionists; once I've asked if I could get info on a room, she's said I should wait as she was typing on a computer. I had to go to a friend's room and she directed me to the lift, without telling me I would have needed a card to make it work, and once I came back and made her aware, she replied she had other guests to take care of and could not deal with my request… A lady like this can ruin the reputation of the entire hotel! Bad for her, I work in this field and I'll never send my guests there.

Quiet hotel, breakfast up to 12 and good beds. Bathroom is very unsuitable for showering. After that, half the bath is underwater and the sink is also. Located right in the city, 15 mins walk to McDonald's, North Sea, Saturn and other shops. Nearby is a subway station to visit other places. Very nice staff, friendly and polite!

Included breakfast good. Room modern & clean. Convenient location. A hassel to get Wi-Fi to work, but that seems to be the norm as we traveled Europe for 18 days.

Good and central location (near parliament and Town Hall), friendly and tried reception, nice and clean rooms. Breakfast was OK but not exceptional and the selection was not very large. No in-house restaurant (wine Lounge only), but various restaurants close to the hotel.

The room is quite dated, bedspreads and curtains with prints of the 80's, he was an inner courtyard and the staff very dry and distrustful. Asked us if we had to pay something from the minibar and I discussed that not everything was, and I doubt our word, plus, in 4 days we spent in this hotel, only one went on to make the room when it was about 19:00 and since we had just returned from walking around the city, obviously we told him that no longer will give us simply a set of towels clean. I don't recommend it.

Beautiful 4-star hotel in the first district at the town Hall, tram and subway station in the immediate vicinity. The hotel is located in a small, barely-run alley, very quiet location. We had an apartment with small kitchen (with crockery, cutlery, hotplates, microwave-combi with baking function, coffee machine), very spacious with couch and table, flat-TV, safe, minibar and fridge (with free mineral water), bathroom with toilet and bathtub. Breakfast buffet from 7 am to 12 noon, small, nice bar, here also small dishes are offered, as well as room service. Very good value for money in a good location.

Very nice winter garden. Good vegetarian dishes. There is something for everyone, not too fancy. Comfortable, informal, very friendly service. Also recommended with children.

It is a great place to stay in Vienna. Very close to everything. The staff were very friendly (highlight to Cristian who explained to us, in Spanish, everything you need to visit the city). Good breakfast and acceptable room. By putting a paste, the bathroom fan was a bit noisy and could not be turned off).

This is a very nice hotel, with staff mostly welcoming and helpful. We had a superior double room, and the space was ample — perfect for relaxing in after a day out in the cold! It was nice and warm throughout the hotel, including the room, we never needed to actually turn on the heating in our room. The bathroom was excellent: large comfortable bath and very powerful shower, no shortage of hot water. Amenities are limited however: the generic body/hair shampoo fixed to the wall by the sink and the shower, a small tube of ineffectual body lotion, and a small hairdryer. The hairdryer is of the type where you have to hold down the on-button to keep it working, which I find irritating, but seem to be common in hotels nowadays. If you have difficulties with your hands (e. G. Arthritis) you're better off bringing your own. For the most part the room was quiet, although a building was being demolished nearby which we could hear, but that can't be helped. However, presumably there will soon be a building site there, so maybe try to request a room at the back? (we were at the front) although I don't know how much the sound will carry. The location is great: 5 minutes from the Rathaus and it's large Christmas market (which is pretty touristy to be honest, but worth a look as it is very large, and has lots of food stands so a good place to get dinner that's cheaper than a restaurant).

Very nice hotel. We were very well received. Some of the staff speak French, it's convenient. We had a spacious room with a couch. Very clean, quiet, everything you need to spend a pleasant stay. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice at the buffet. Just like at the hotel bar, although a little small in terms of space.

I'm really excited. The Josefshof is located directly in the city. All sights are within walking distance.
The staff is extremely friendly.
My next Vienna will definitely be back in the Josefshof.

Good central location. Traditional decor but that worked in a traditional building. Very friendly staff. A most enjoyable stay. We didn't go for the breakfast so cannot come t on that.

Location is really nice. Walkable distance to all the major landmarks in the city. Hotel food is really good. Rooms are just about good.

Located at a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle but yet close to all the major attractions in Vienna. The morning breakfast is quite a spread with cold cuts, fruit, breads, eggs, cornflakes and lots more. They also had Chennai tea which always brought a smile to us. The reception staff all knew English and were always willing to help be it with booking tours, giving us direction for sightseeing. Thanks for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. Hotel Mercure will always be a part of our memories of our trip to Vienna.

Good hotel a little less staff.

This hotel is near U2 (Rathaus and Volksteather) and Tram (line number 2) station. It is easy to move any place which plan to go tourlist attraction. (+ there are two Citybike spot. Near this place) I was so impressed because hotel employee was very kind and nice. If someone who would like to travel Wien, I'll recommend this hotel.

Nice first impression, nice courtyard, however outdated rooms, bad Wi-Fi, after all free, cleanliness left in this case to be desired, bathroom full of whiskers from previous guests, otherwise an acceptable hotel, but if with this big minus in Things cleanliness.

Very comfortable good location no tea or coffee offered in thr rooms and a strange lovation for the toilet paper dispenser, you cant actually sit on the loo properly so your shoulder hits it.

Well, we acn't give 5 stars because we did not stay. Our experience, sadly, was that we forgot to cancel our hoped-for stay at this apparently wonderful establishment. There is no doubt they were well bang within their rights to keep the first night's charge. We had booked 2 rooms… and thought that would be that, but on appeal the very kind reservations people did refund some of our charges. Well done and thank you again Annika.

Great location to visit Vienna on foot.

The room was not nicely decorated but did the coffee maker. The bed was too soft for us. A transparent toilet door is also a matter of taste. The staff seems not motivated.

Fair price on rooms, which are very clean, free buffet breakfast all you can eat. Very beautiful ambiance.

When I here the positive reviews read, I always think back, I was in another Hotel. We had a small "base rooms", first posted. Alone the way, had nothing Good guess. The room itself was old. Although clean, but small, dark, and just from the impression old. Upgrade to a privilege room then brought slight improvement, bed and bathroom were much better. The room itself was, however, still smaller than the previous and the view from the "window" was terrific, a halation of the dimensions of 3x3 meters with a view of 3 walls. Only the Breakfast could convince. Anyone with a vehicle arrives and is not eternal Parking in the surrounding streets or paid Parking garages want to find (Parking lots are 99% for holders of the Destrikt-Parking passes, I guess just for residents), the can for 22, — Euro PER DAY car in the Hotel underground Parking. Underground Parking is also a bit too much to say, room for cars and other junk hits it rather. Overall, we had a completely uncomfortable, maybe us, therefore, also the staff of the reception is rather ignored. Professional dealing with customers in any case is something else. The coronation was then a completely with water stains, coated Glass, which my partner was pressed into his Hand. Dinner is only in the Form of Snacks, a Restaurant is totally missing.

Hotel chain Mercure located five minutes from Rathaus. The decor is classic, with carpeted floors, mahogany furniture and light fixtures in gold. The rooms are spacious and clean, however the bathrooms are small. The breakfast buffet is correct, they offer a wide variety of products: scrambled eggs, sausages, cheeses, cereals, nuts, toast and breads, pastries, cakes, coffees, juices and teas. To improve: the juices, are pot. The service is attentive and efficient, provide useful information about interesting places to visit. Good quality-price ratio.

We stayed 4 nights. The first in a standard room, comfortable, clean and quiet, the other in privilege suite (beautiful but a little noisy for neighbors, inconvenient) to staff the rest whenever required. Breakfast was great! It would be nice to go back.

Hotel with an excellent value for money.

Worst Hotel I've Stayed at in Years. Internet cut out every 7 minutes. Had to ask for a new Wi-Fi password about 16 times. I was with a large business group. We all had the same problem yet they always acted like they were hearing it for the first time. "Ohhh really? No internet? That's strange. " They made no apologies for the fact that there was basically no internet provided. I asked them if breakfast was included with my room. They told me no, it would be 16 euros. So I ate out for 3 days before others in my group informed me we did get breakfast. When I asked again they said, of course you have breakfast. They barely apologized for the mistake and the fact that I had now spent over 30 euros of my money when I could have been eating in. After much complaining they said they guess they could give me a glass of wine. One morning I was in the middle of my shower when I reached for the shampoo. It was gone! I have no idea why they took it out, but they did, and I was stuck waiting TEN minutes soaking wet for them to bring up some more. When I went to check out I left my bag with them. When I came back later I found they hadn't issued a ticket to it, so it was like a comedy routine with the guy bringing out all these bags it might be. Finally they let me back to look. The service at this hotel was HORRIBLE. It's 2013 and Vienna. You can't not have internet access.

Staff were perfect — free Supreme upgrade. Everything perfect! always again.

Service was lacking at the check in counter but breakfast soon made up for that. Room was small but comfortable. Well within walking distance to the main centre of Vienna and tourist buses.

To reach in 2-3 minutes by subway (stop Town Hall), in a quiet side street. Friendly staff at the reception, knew about our bicycles good (great service by pedal power, wheels wheels top state delivered to the hotel,! ). Room (best category — privilege rooms) great bathroom, large flat-screen TV was top, very tastefully decorated in the art nouveau style in warm colours, gold and art inspired by Klimt, and above all very quiet. Staff was always helpful. Breakfast we had not, have preferred to eat in one of the beautiful Café houses. Us at the Mercure Josefshof very well felt and would stay there again anytime.
