It's a legendary place. It is noteworthy that the local cafe prepares the original Saher cake. There are long queues during the day, so it's best to have breakfast here.
The staff are very polite, speak different languages.
The cake and mineral water (pictured) cost 11.60 euros.
It may be expensive, but it's definitely worth it!

The famous Sacher torte is completely overated. Dry and difficult to finish, it is definitely not the best chocolate cake in Vienna. I am a chocolate cake lover, and I really wanted to love the Sacher cake and bring home some, but it was a huge disappointment. Their Viennese coffee was also not memorable. I gotta say, though, that the cafe is beautiful.

Attended to try the famous Sachertorte, had lunch here as well. If going for food there is usually a line, but we didn't have to wait long. Plush velvet furniture made the place look as fancy as expected, food was good and service was pleasant. The cake is a must! Definitely recommend to try :)

Cafe Saher. Cake Saher is very very sweet, just cloying. An amateur. Coffee Viennese melange is divine. Pleasant atmosphere, smiling waiters. Being in Vienna is worth going to this cafe by all means! Attraction.

Absolutely beautiful. My friend took me here and we had cake and tea in the restaurant. Beautiful decor. Service was good. Cake was a little dry but the chocolate made up for it. Green Tea was nice on my stomach. Surprisingly reasonable for two people. Loved the celebrity photos that deck the halls and stairway. I highly recommend this spot for tourists and locals.

Famous for creating the homonymous cake, the hotel is very beautiful and luxurious and has a very popular coffee. The cake instead made me a little disappointed, especially as far as the value for money (more than 7 euros for a small slice of cake). However to try more than anything else for the historical value.

It's a very pathetic place! But at the same time you are treated very respectfully, you feel like an aristocrat. It doesn't matter if you're wearing a suit or jeans. The staff treats you like the most important guest. Cake — you can swallow the tongue. We also took breakfasts, expensive, but once you can) even if you come here just to drink coffee, you will not regret)

Very disappointed with this hotel which camped on its achievements, barely competent staff, arrived in the evening around 20hrs50, we rented a suite, there nothing to say, 15 days before our arrival our travel agency had reserved a table in the restaurant of this hotel Surprise! It was not taken into account, we were directed to a snack, we reserve a suite and we are sent to a snack, look for the mistake! As for the breakfast it is the fair of poof, we were directed to a community table, anything! Moreover there is not much choice for a 5 star hotel supposedly. Ended up eating at the restaurant, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Just good and still! I stop there too disappointed, you should not recommend this hotel for people who are accustomed to large hotels with gourmet restaurant.

Beautiful place. The location is super luxurious and the waiters very courteous, the cake Sacher is very good. The only flaw for which 3 stars instead of 5 is that with the cake do not give you even a glass of water and a bottle of water costs €8.

I was to consume a slice of the hotel symbol cake, all great. The only flaw is that it seems that the queue outside the room is calculated, let a few people enter at a time on a regular basis keeping always a constant tail length even if there are free places.

Definitely historical and suggestive place. For breakfast Okki Check the receipt add things not consumed. And happened to us and to the table next to ours.

Went to Cafe Sacher for coffee and sachertorte. It was absolutely wonderful! The staff were attentive, the food itself was incredible and there was a great atmosphere.

Normal Cafeteria. Cakes and pieces of cakes up to 10 euros. Tea bags in kettles, but very good for 6 euros. In general, once you can visit to understand the atmosphere.

Sat at an outside table and ordered the famous Sacher pie. It was delicious and was one of the best pies I ever ate. Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because the waiter was a little bit rude and we had to ask twice for the check (around 15 minutes waiting). Recommended!

Had a wonderful evening here today. Very nice table, really attentive waiter named Richard. I have not noticed the most recent. Excellent rich food. The official menu is unusual, but if you ask for table-Spitz, veal schnitzel and goose liver, this is not a problem. Great wine list and extensive knowledge of Mr. Richard. Thank you very much, we will remember it for a long time and come back safely. PS I have known the house for over 50 years, have celebrated many beautiful celebrations here. It's just "my" sacher.

Go there if you want to visit a landmark of Vienna. The design is very classic and absolutely perfectly maintained. The service is good and quick even when it's crowded. As for the famous Sacher cake, well it's good but frankly nothing so special. I had much more tasty chocolate cake.

We were there to drink coffee and try Sachertorte. For this price (€7 for a small piece of pie with cream! ) Very disappointing and I really do not understand the good reputation. There are also unfriendly waitresses.

Red Bar Hotel Sacher Wien… the sacher in pure culture. A piece of österr. History. Always an experience. Finest cuisine, royal service and delightfully elegant ambiance. An experience at any time.

We reserved a table at Café Sacher and received it promptly after the "skipping" of the long queue. My fiancée noted that it was my birthday and a small candle was put into the cake and a short song was sung. Of course, the prices are a little more expensive, but that's what you expect when you're in a tradition-rich institution.

I leave this review premise that I'm not fond of sweets and especially chocolate ones. But I have to acknowledge that the taste of this cake was something fantastic. At the entrance of the room we found a nice row of people waiting to enter but we were not discouraged and indeed it was worth the wait (however the wait was very short as the staff does enter very quickly) the local It is very nice, refined and at the same time elegant. The staff of great level. The cake is served with a sticker of authenticity. The price of a slice do is about €7 but believe them really worth all! Try to believe!

The typical thing is to eat the sachertorte and… this is good, but neither is it nothing out of this world for my taste. You charge 7, 10€ for a piece of cake. Around€ 5 for a tea, coffee, etc.

Oh Jesus… amazing place. I have visited with friends only to try the Sacher cake, the original one. I knew before that there was a elegant place and I was waiting for a posh people workin in but it s absolutely not. They are kind and polite, and make you comfortable all the time. The restaurant is fancy and beautiful but very cosy at the same time and the prices are fair. The cake is around 6 euros.

There you can recommend the original Sachertorte food is to bring some time as it is usually full and you have to queue. The prices are quite expensive for a piece of pie and a cocoa is paid about €13. Nevertheless, it is definitely worth a visit.

Only checked out the restaurant, which was very nice. The Sacher tort was amazing, nice atmosphere and beautiful decor. One of our waiters had a bit of an attitude, which is why I didn't rate 5 stars.

Very cool local is quaint, elegant and quiet atmosphere with many small rooms. Economy Standard Medium-high but very good quality. Specialty of the Hotel Sacher Wien is obviously the Sacher cake, unfindable equal from other parts.

Located next to the Opera. It's not my in my taste (I prefer more cozy places) but you can try the famous Austrian sacher cake. I had a nice tea and the cake.

I was in their restaurant and it was great. Food was pre-ordered and it was not so big but very delicious. When you eat there you become a part of history. Indoor style is beautiful.

Luxury Hotel in Vienna. The best the task of the same name in the cafeteria. A must-try. Very good if you like chocolate.

Okay without more. The place is really beautiful. On the other hand the value for money is not in my opinion. One hot chocolate (half cup) served lukewarm. A bottle of water, a part of the Wronge (honestly it's good enough but far from the French standards of pastry). All for 16 euros.

Typical Viennese coffee house atmosphere although mostly tourists are sitting in it. Very tasty coffee specialties and a blow colonel who is hard to beat. Certainly there is also the famous cake elsewhere, but in the sacher it tastes even better. A tad fresher and more balanced. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The only downside, the prices are unfortunately also on high level.

For more than 35 years, my family and I have been visiting the Sacher. Although the 5 star hotels in Vienna like mushrooms shoot from the ground, in my opinion there is no adequate alternative to the Sacher. Those who want Vienna must go to the Sacher.

The mythical place to try the typical sachertorte! We ordered two pies, the classic dark chocolate and white chocolate! This last is my favorite the thin layer of white chocolate with almonds rich and biscuit-like with a hint of orange and ginger! The sachertorte rich… nothing from the other world. Ask green Tea to drink and it was a good option. The price is high more or less 3€ more expensive than on other sites.

What you have to order is a nice slice of Sacher! Impossible to resist! It's super good. I advise everyone to try it here, beware of imitations.

This place is really something! Especially loved looking at the walls of pictures of all the famous guests who have stayed. Queen Elizabeth, Elizabeth Taylor, all the big opera stars, Orson Welles, Brian May to name but a few. The staff were very accommodating especially the Doorman who told us some tales whilst maintaining a discerning discretion.

Delicious meals, the Bechert torte is a marvel. The décor is warm and the staff very helpful. Small downside waiting outside in the cold and rain before being placed.

An ATL venerable hotel that is definitely worth a visit. Not quite cheap but that's worth it too. But you should take the big wallet with you.

I went to the hotel Sacher to sample the original Sacher. There's usually a queue to get into the room. The Location is very good and the staff The cake was exquisite.
A slice of sacher costs 6. €90. While if you choose to also take a drink, I recommend the menu of about 16 euros.

This is where the classic was born and still exists. Very cosy place with traditions, good people works here, everything is delicious. Perfect coffee and deserts. The original Sacher cake is available. Try it with coffee with liqueur. Before that you may try Schnitzel. If chocolate is not your favourite then there are delicious pancakes with apricots or plums. This place is perfect for any occasion — friends meeting, business, family event or just having a coffee alone. The personal will make you feel comfortable. If you need a place to stay — try the hotel.

Everything is wonderful in this hotel which even prepares vegan menus on request. Soy milk for breakfast. Romance and old Europe at the rendezvous.

We went to eat the authentic sachertorte. It is worth to take a portion of this typical cake in vienna, although the price is not exactly cheap. To enter we leave the coats in the cloakroom and they treated us exquisitely, the place leaves no one indifferent, I found the environment very luxurious. Needless to say it should be, try the sachertorte should be a must on your trip to Vienna.

The only issue with this is the wait time to get in. Other than that it was great! It's a bit of a touristy thing but the food there is great and the wait staff greater. They're comfortable with English and we're quite attentive. Definitely recommend.

The cake is typical, Sacher, does not disappoint. The chocolate is yummy, and the sponge cake together with jam, perfect for a good breakfast. The portion is perfect, except if you are very sweet. The price is great, but it is something to do if you're in Vienna.

Went at tea time to the cafe to try the famous original Sacher torte. It did not disappoint, can highly recommend it — particularly with their own black tea blend. While it is not cheap and we did have to queue (the queue moved quickly, and it appeared we caught it at the busiest time), don't believe any visit to Vienna would be complete without it.

The coffee shop It is an obligatory passage next to the Vienna Opera, this establishment is part of Vienna. If you visit this city it is that you are looking for a return to a unique past. Do not look for a trendy or avant-garde in the coffee shop (but generally do not look for this in Vienna). Tourist attraction, must visit in Vienna. Clear that take advantage of their state and what they charge, but it is truly a place to enjoy. We had this day bad luck because we sat at a couple of the door and a lot of people did queue a few of us. It was not very comfortable. That's why only 4 stars.

A Viennese institution. Sure it maybe touristy but the wonderful service and delightful Sacher cake sufficiently reward those who choose to queue. Step back into a little old world charm and relax with your coffee in hand and cake on your plate.

Sincerely? Belonging the atmospheric atmosphere that you breathe, I would say that I will not go back in the first place the very rude staff of the series if you want to eat here well if not you can leave with a stink under your nose that take it away. Not to mention the price that despite being a stop to do pay €50 for three pieces of cake 3 cappuccinos and a tea seems exaggerated.

A great hotel, elegant and refined. Very comfortable and with services at the height of fame. Annex C is the famous Caffè Sacher where you can taste the cake of the same name. The restaurant is under renovation.

We were at the Hotel Cafè Sacher to try the famous Sacher cake. Fabulous. One of a kind; We tried other Sacher in the various Kaffehaus but none were the least comparable! To try.

We went to the coffee, I asked for a sachertorte and a expresso double. The cake was rich, but I've tried cakes quite better (although it is the best sacher I've tasted) and the coffee was also good. So if it's prohibitively expensive, even for the prices of Vienna.

We were at the café to enjoy a slice of cake (no need to reviews the Sacher torte… the name says it all). The location is beautiful, clean, well taken care of. The staff is delicious! They are all very kind and always smiling. You feel really pampered. When we return to Vienna, the Cafè will surely be a compulsory stop!

Great world class hotel. We stayed in one of the suites. Great service and great people. The only reason I give it only 4 stars is the food in both s cafes and restaurant. They served me a goulash at lunch with meat so tough I could hardly eat it. A 5 star hotel would not have served that. Dinner at the restaurant was elegant and well serviced. The food was just OK. 5 star is not just OK. I will stay here again. Hopefully someone will take my comments seriously and improve food service. FYI I have been in the food industry in the US for 45 years, I know of what I speak.

Eating a slice of Sacher is a must! Few persons know you can have your own Sacher inside the hotel, and not just in the nearby stube: just enter in the hotel, skip the reception and locate the bar in a blue room left of the hall. OK it's expensive, but it deserves it!

I went here on heavy rainy day. IT was so packed and the seating was uncomfortable. However, the signature chocolate cake was good. I couldn't find anything interesting in the taste though. Just good taste, nothing more.

We are currently staying here for the Christmas holiday while visiting our daughter who lives in Vienna. The hotel staff and service has been excellent. On Christmas Eve last night they delivered a gingerbread house to us in the suite with extra sweets too!. The hotel is beautiful, I will post a full review on TA after leaving as well.

Cafè input is not in the Hotel but to the left of the Café Sacher. 10 Minutes Of Waiting. Very friendly service staff. Two coffee (with liqueur and whipped Cream/cream) and two cakes with whipped Cream/cream for € 26, 60. A bit high priced — but, a beautiful ambience and memory.

The best Sacher Torte, of course. Delicious coffee of course. Great servive of course. Everyone knows that, but little did I know everything else was just as good. Best Wiener Schnitzel I had in Vienna. Go there. You won't be disappointed.

Expects a lot. The Sachertorte is higher than that of demel, because it has a stronger taste and standards is served with cream. The most abundant eispanner, demel, but less full-bodied. Good strudel, but doesn't have the coverage very crisp. Tourist room is pretty messed up, ate at the counter. It also spends less than 10 €.

One of the most impressive hotels I've seen ever, is like traveling to another era. You can leave Vienna without having gone.

You get assigned to a place somewhere and the conditions try one as soon as possible the chocolate cake on the plate to clap you in short time for sales and then quickly disappears.
Coffee House tradition is different.
But maybe yes the Asian guests find particularly appealing.

Great food, staff, great location.

Every visitor to the city of Vienna to visit the Grand Hotel Sacher and if only to try a Sacher cake in the Café. It can be found there friendly staff, excellent cakes, which made the young Sacher rich and famous. The hotel is nice, especially, it is very centrally located. The breakfast room with a suspended ceiling is no insterburg jewel, the prices are somewhat high in comparison with other grand hotels.

Staff. The breakfast is an insider's tip (a tart was given me in Designverpackung! ). The 'Viennese ambience' preparing to flirt with the modern age. Whether that is what at the historic whisper, of each architecture crack and the gentle K. U. K. — Interior speaks.

I have extra traveled because of the Sacher Torte to Vienna from Germany and was looking forward to try the right. When I tried the cake I wanted to spit that out. Such a disgusting taste. The cake tasted like rye bread and there was even a jam in it. And the chocolate glaze was very mealy and not at all sweet. Also, the waiter was very unfriendly and demanded extra still tip.

We stayed here in August, and we had a lovely time. The staff were polite and helpful, the atmosphere great, and location perfect. I'll list some positives and negatives, but the negatives are the only peeves I have. It is a great hotel. Positives Decor — this really gave the feeling of staying in a traditional Viennese hotel of yester-year. This alone makes the hotel worth it. Service — the staff were always happy to help, explaining things fully (such as breakfast rooms), or handing an umbrella on the way out. Rooms — couldn't fault them. Negatives Food — Some reviews here seem to be only about the torte; so a cafe review. In truth, I wasn't wowed by the Sacher torte, but it was nice. Just don't have any served at breakfast. It was dry. Food — We also had a restaurant meal delivered to the room in courses; if it is indicative of what you would receive in the restaurant as a meal I would not bother. Overpriced and not made well — even the mille-feuille was burnt. Price and Charges — the hotel is quite expensive if you're on a budget. Also, we wanted to iron some clothes, but no indication of charges for the service was in the service book. As they were doing a lot of complimentary things, the lack of price listed (and to be sure there were prices next to other services), I just sent them off with no thought about it. But be warned, they charge and its overpriced and they don't do a good job.

Overall, our experience at this hotel was good. The hotel is elegant and it is very formal. The service, as much as they tried, did not meet the 5 star standard. Additionally, the hotel's restsurants were very dissapointing. Finally, the Sacher torte is extremely overstated and not nearly as tasty as the hotel may have you believe.

If you go to Wien, you should eat the Sachar Torte here. The location is really good, and also the Sachar Torte is tastefull, although quite expensive.

The cake that takes its name from the hotel is very good, although it is expensive (5e portion, in the summer of 2012).
The downside is the service. The waiters have it very believed and it is clear (even if inexplicable) that don't treat foreigners as well as to the Austrians. Foreigners they take them longer to serve and collect, of course does not make them House gifts, and refuse to serve them glasses of water (which are served with the cake as tradition)
Why not recommend it to foreigners, in place can try the cake at any other pastry (which make it just as rich and more cheap) and will surely treat you better.
