Whilst this is a 5 star hotel, I think it is more like a 4 star. There are 2 wings, a luxury wing and an Eastern wing, the latter is more colonial and a bit more tired. Room was decent size, nice bed and lovely bathroom. The paintwork and the look and feel is why I feel this is more of a 4 star than a 5 star. Pool was very nice. Breakfast a good mix of Western and Asian. Staff very helpful. Location great as in district 1, so close to most things.

Convenient place with good service. Rooms from the New Wing is clean and tidy (old Wing not bad). Room rates are quite reasonable. Easy to access to commercial, shopping and eating places. Breakfast buffet is one of the best I tried in HCMC for hotels in the same category.

Excellent hotel despite the fact that the building of the thirties built, Everything is modern and cozy.

The very center. Great rooms and breakfast. On the 20th floor, a super view of Saigon from the bar. For business trips I recommend.

Staff was very helpful! Location was conveniently located near all of the tourist attractions. Rooms were immaculately clean. Great Hotel! Highly recommended.

The pool is too small and the hotel leaves an impression of a boarding house on the Ristarelle. A lot of older people. The young people are bored.

The Grand Hotel in Saigon is a very special house. In the middle of the bustling South Vietnamese capital, the hotel offers a relaxation pool. Even when we entered, we felt a pleasant atmosphere. When we walked in from the street, our surprise was great to enter such a bright and beautiful foyer. We were delighted with the very friendly staff. Our room was generously cut and practically furnished. We felt very comfortable. At breakfast we enjoyed a generous range of fruit and many other treats. To end the day with a drink on the rooftop terrace is a must.

Great location. Excellent beds, with huge dimensions. The breakfast is very good with lots of different options. Attention at reception was extraordinary. Money exchange with a reasonable rate. The top terrace has great views and cocktails.

I went for the casino. Small and cozy environment. Nobody bothers you. Minimum bet is $1 for the roulette and $10 for blackjack. I'm gonna go back. Recommended.

Highly recommended! Approx 30 mins from the airport and located in District 1, the main CBD. Beautifully appointed room (ours was 1504). A fantastic buffet breakfast that had everything! The Sky Lounge on Level 20 (top floor) has amazing views of the area, river, and city landscape! Add to this the beautiful attitudes and service from ALL the staff we encountered, made our stopover stay very enjoyable. We will book this Hotel again… Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!

A great location in Ho Chi Minh and with a French style that makes it a good choice for Europeans. A good breakfast buffet.

Good city Hall in a central location. Fantastic rooftop terrace with great views over the city, especially in the evening.

This hotel is modern and still has the charm of older days. Very nice 5 star hotel.

Let down both in room and service. Room literature states breakfast till 0930. On our first breakfast experience on Saturday, was told ends at 1000, then on Monday, when we came down at 0920, was told its 1030 on weekends, 0930 weekdays! Misinformation is worse than wrong information especially for a purported 5* establishment. Cramp room layout, damp mouldy patch above ceiling outside bathroom. No daily newspaper. Very thin non sound proof walls, as our room faces lift lobby, we can hear voices and luggage traffic continuously. Halfway through week stay, power socket by desk konked out leaving only one working power socket for us to juggke between kettle, two phones, two power banks and laptop! Busy traffic frontage. Only plus is good green foliage around outdoor rectangular but rather small swim pool in centre forecourt but overlooked by multiple pool facing rooms on all sides makes sunbathing bit uncomfortable.

Good hotel, good service, Good breakfast. The high rooms are excellent. The rooms in swimming pool area are much older and quite small. Fare is attractive and position is fantastic.

Great hotel. I know it's hard to complain about something free, but the breakfast buffet was inferior to other hotels in the area. I did not detract a star for this on my review, like I said, great hotel.

This place is better than Ha Hien hotel, it has five star rating hotel which locates in highly regarded area. It's breakfast has full Western and Asian cuisine. Everything is there, highly recommend.

A very good welcome and the staff is smiling is discreet. The rooms are spacious and quiet. Lots of useful ancillary services and a very professional and impeccable hairdresser. A fitness room with a private coach. We loved.

It was a very nice hotel. Beautiful view of the terrace of the top floor (sky roof). Work on the terrace on the top floor at night generating a lot of noise that repercussions 3 floors below (installation of a wooden terrace). Why do work when clients sleep? Complaint to the management and after more than one hour of negotiation, stop the works but it is already 2:30 in the morning.

Nice spacious rooms, good reception and very Clean bathroom with shower and bathtub. Breakfast ' honest but growing a little soft. Safe address!

The location of the hotel is very good, right in the center surrounded by shops. The food was also very good and the hotel has a very nice pool in the middle of the hotel with gym as well. I have stayed there for 2 nights and we celebrated the new years eve however even though the tickets were 100$ each, they only gave beer and wine which were not so good. However besides the event, the hotel room, food location was very nice.

One of the well located hotels in Saigon. This is hardly any distance from anything worth seeing in the old town. The rooms are decent (stayed in the ancient wing) breakfast spread is good but the taste cities be better. Some of the lobby boys are not that helpful (i booked uber and one actually misguided me…) Housekeeping is awesome. Other guests are good… Overall great place to stay.

This hotel is in a good/convenient location within the tourist area. Hit-and-miss services. Make sure to double check your bills when you checked out. We got charged for some items that we already paid for as a part of our package. Good thing it was spotted before paying.

Super Hotel, with friendly and dedicated staff. Everything is really consistent and good. It is especially nice to go to the rooftop in the evening and experience the Saigon he mood. The only quarter point deduction is available for breakfast coffee. Against the Vietnamese, it tastes bland. But that is to be tolerated.

The staff was friendly. A very large breakfast buffet is offered. The room was clean and quiet, except for the fact that the first morning we woke up at 7.30uhr to want to clean the room…
Every day there was fresh fruit in the room. The rooms could be modern in style. Nice Rooftopbar with live music.

Very well located hotel. Ambience is from the 1930s but all looks very clean and tidy. I always stay there for business with spacious rooms, wide options for breakfast and has a swimming pool.

Amazing location. Very large and comfortable bed and it smelled of roses. Stayed in the modern and ancient wing. Both of high standard. The pool is an instagramers dream, and the views at the top bar are of almost all of the city.

Nice luxurious hotel. Our company usually rents out meetings rooms here. The meeting rooms were nice, but the carpet has moldy smell. Friendly and helpful staffs.

My baby's first birthday party was here. The hotel grandhall is big and nicely decorated, the banquet staff were helpful, we all enjoyed the party. Ideal location, great staff.

Located in downtown area, clean room, delicious fruit, I live 709 room, air condition is broken. Breakfast not rich.

Room booked was to have 50 square metres (approximately 540 square feet) with a bedroom and a living room with sofa, tables and chairs, and was also to have a balcony from this room. Front desk staff demanded payment on-the-spot for reservation upon check-in. However when we went to our room we quickly realized it was not what we had booked. The room was relatively small — only 250 square feet approximately, there was no separate living room and no balcony. Immediately went back to the front desk to explain we had been given the wrong room type. There were three front desk staff present and showed them our reservation and they all agreed that yes, we had in fact booked a premium room as described but they simply told us that there were no rooms available of that type – only the basic room type they checked us into. They offered no apology and no discount. We again explained that this was not what we wanted but they offered no resolution. Rather confused we went back to our room and proceeded to locate another hotel in the area with larger rooms and with a balcony. Went back to the front desk and told them we would be checking out (we were careful not to use anything within the room) because this hotel had not giving us the room type as per our reservation. Again all three staff were present and they informed me that we had already paid for our reservation and they would not issue us a refund, no diplomacy and no apology.

There's no reason to pay this much for a room in Saigon. Plenty of equally nice smaller hotels around for half the price.

Very disappointing. If we are talking about a hotel of 4 stars, they should not afford allocate rooms without window (and less) without notice when making the reservation. The staff kept enough to that wish and hotel was completely flooded, so there was no space available in the pool, even in the breakfast room, with what the last day had to go to breakfast at a bar. Our bathroom, in addition, had a water leak and the bed had no tables, which was quite uncomfortable. Not worth for the money offered. The best, the location.

Loving it so far! great service great rooms really comfy beds and the food is great. Drinks are expensive fpr a developing country but thats to be expected when you are drinking at the hotel. Only downside is that the lifts are extremely slow but that can be overl0oked. Will deffinatly be bac.

Stopped over here on a recent trip to Vietnam. Great old hotel. Location, rooms, service staff were outstanding. We had a 3 room suite for a very reasonable price. I would recommend this hotel.

Nice looking hotel. But TERRIBLE service! A total disappointment. It took them almost 30 minutes just for checking in, and more than 1 hour for checking out, and no, it was not busy at all. We were over charged for the new year eve party. The reservation person told us that it is 500, 000 VND/adult for the sit-down-with light-meal party, and children are free. We got the bill for 650, 000/person (2 adults and 2 kids) and it was a lousy stand-up-no-chair party. When asked about the charge, the checkout person replied "it's what I received from them". Huh? The firework, which was the main point of our promised-new-year-eve party (as our girls love fireworks so I did ask over and over to make sure), was over promised and under delivered. We had the choices of a corner of balcony or the already over-booked windows. If we were told so, we could've taken a short walk to the riverside and had a much better view for free.

Posh, clean. Good rooms. Good breakfast. Good location.
