Pete was very friendly and welcoming on arrival. Comfortable, clean room. Good breakfast.

First impressions are good on arrival, soon though you see through the cracks. Poor grounds maintenance, broken lights, dirty /faulty fountain, and a lax owner who seems quite harsh, and who's a bit scatterbrain with something of an off-putting attitude. His attention wanders when you're talking to him, and there's a distinct lack of focus here; like his minds on something else and he's not really listening. The rooms are reasonable, the detached bungalow is the gem here. Watch out for the speed cameras on the crossroads immediately out the gate. Oh, and It's quite near the local Park and not too far from the A1 / M62. Easily driven passed if you're not paying attention. There's no obvious guest entrance which might confuse at first.

Bathrooms are dated and the rooms could do with decorating. Breakfast was ok and location was quiet. Dog friendly.

Really hospitable and excellent service. Room to high quality standard and breakfast piping hot.

Do not go to the outside shed during the winter. Pretty self explanatory. The owner asked me"how was it" as if I was an experiment.

We turned up with our dog and we're welcomed in. The accommodation was basic but clean, tidy, cosy and welcoming. And the staff even more so, Pete felt like family after just 2 nights there and nothing was too much trouble. Set in beautiful, quiet surrounding this is the perfect place to take a quiet moment.

I stayed here last weekend, after making a mistake with the dates of a festival we were trading at. The uninsulated shed we were put up in had several safety issues and had a serious damp problem (see photos). The bathroom window was obscured by another shed which another guest was presumably paying to stay in. Finally, to make matters worse, I was charged £55 instead of the £50 quoted on the phone. The name on my card transaction is Mr P Sutton (make of that what you will when you read the other reviews here). I was going to write the night off as another bizarre hotel that I've stayed in, but that took the biscuit. The main hotel may be quite nice, but based on my experiences I can't recommend staying here.
