Lovely place was there last night only one criticism me and my sister wasn’t offered the fish n chips canapés tried to get waitress attention they kept going to other tables missing our table but otherwise no complaints.

Great food. Lovely staff and the room was clean, tidy and big!

Food is average at best. Service takes 2.5 hours. An ‘evening if entertainment’ doesn’t start until after food service so you’re tempted to drink to relive the boredom. Do not waste your time or your money unless you’re a fan of fawlty towers!

We visited Kings Croft hotel for the first time today unfortunately under sad circumstances. They were hosting a wake for one of our family members. The staff were so attentive from the moment we arrived. Emma introduced herself and was so welcoming to my family & our guests. The food was delicious and the gentleman looking after us was very polite and courteous. Kings Croft were fantastic! We will definitely be visiting again for other occasions in the future. 😁

Spent Saturday night here for my partner’s birthday and had a wonderful time. The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. Staff were great and couldn’t do enough to help. Room was clean and great condition. The bar area was great and the bar staff were great even though there was a wedding on the service never slowed I would highly recommend this hotel if just for a short stay or even just to eat. We will definitely be returning.

No words can describe how grateful we are for everyone at kings Croft! We had our wedding day here on the 27th august 2022 and I can say from start to finish all staff was amazing! Abbie and Charlotte from the moment we booked were everything we could have asked for to make sure we had the best day! Our master of ceremony Connor we absolutely loved him and he made the day so special and amazing for us! We couldn’t have dreamed off a better day and kings Croft will now alway bold such a special place in our heart and we will be back a lot haha!

We visited for 2 nights for our daughters wedding, few hiccups including my fall but staff were amazing with everything. The day went very smoothly food excellent. Venue amazing, fabulous grounds and views. Would visit again. Dave and Tracey Holmes.

We got married here on Saturday. The Croft was amazing from start to finish. Helpful couldn’t do enough for us. The food, rooms and service was just top notch. Also my entertainment cancelled on the day and they sorted this out for us so we had no worries at all. I didn’t even realise till my friend had told me. Thank you kings Croft.

Owner is a smug arrogant person who speaks to his staff terribly. Manager angie has terribly people skills and bad attitude. There was a lack of organisation waiter and waitress were like headless chickens and the food is bog standard quality at best. Definitely wouldnt recommend far too overpriced for quality of service 👎

The kings croft catered for our wedding breakfast and evening reception. We had to rearrange it twice, and third time lucky we managed our big day. They kept the price the same throughout. The venue was amazing and accomodated our guests, the food was out of this world, if you arent getting married there then visit the restaurant and the sticky toffee pudding. Darryl who was toastmaster made the day, accomodating myself and my wife, nothing was any trouble, be it from a drink, helping with timings for first dance etc, from start to finish, he made sure we were both the priority.

Excellent wedding venue always runs smoothly thanks to a great team.

We had a really lovely pizza lunch in the hotels 'secret garden'. The pizzas made in their outdoor pizza oven were delicious as was the Gambas pil pil starter and drinks. The waitress was very friendly and took great care of us. The views were lovely and the parasols were perfect as we have a young baby and needed the shade. Would definitely recommend.

We attended the Steak Night. The food was absolutely delicious and the steak was to die for. The host was fantastic and couldn’t do enough for you. Dessert was beautiful too. Well recommended and good value for money.

My wife brought me last night for Al Fresco dining and it was amazing! Beautiful good, gorgeous surroundings and brilliant service. Highly recommended.

Such a lovely venue, we got married here and they couldn’t do enough for us, everything ran smoothly and we wouldn’t have changed a thing. The staff were lovely, my grandma was very ill at the time and was on day release from the hospital to attend our wedding, because she was unable to stay for our evening do the staff sent her away with a little pack up to take back to the hospital! The grounds are beautiful and the pavilion was exactly what we wanted for our ceremony. We’ve also had many lovely nights here at both the restaurant (Where my parents had their first date many 27 years ago) and at the many events/tribute nights we’ve attended.

Bad, spoke to the staff they are under paid over worked, it sounds like slave Labour at the back of house to be honest will never go there after hearing how the boss treats his staff.

We celebrated my daughters wedding here Saturday 14th March and it was just amazing, we stayed for 2 nights and there wasn’t a single thing that I would’ve changed! The food was outstanding, the staff were fantastic and they couldn’t do enough for you. The accommodation was amazing and I’d recommend to anyone. If you want a truly memorable experience then this is the place to go. Thank you for an amazing weekend.

I have stayed here a few times and usually with a pleasant and comfortable stay but unfortunately very different this time! Avoid room 53 at all cost! While the room looks lovely and has very nice sky light windows, when it rains there is no way of getting any air into the room which sleeps 5 people. The manager knows about this but still does nothing, refuses to reply to my emails or return my calls. I did not get any sleep and was sat outside in the rain at 3am just to get fresh air!

Not the cheapest carvery but the food is always spot on and it's nice to feel special when you are there, the staff are brilliant.

Every thing was this is our 6th year out and first year at kings croft it was nice to hear music, atmosphere was great and well done to the waiter, s, barstaff, kitchen staff, — с Paul Short.

Went for hog roast and disco and there was no stuffing hardly any salad but worse than that the DJ was terrible. No atmosphere not a patch on previous years and was finished by half 12 was supposed to go on till 1. Most people were gone hours before. Decorations were good hog roast tasty and young staff very helpful. Prefer the larger room set menu and tribute nights so much better.

We got married here on 27th July 2019 and what an amazing day we had. The staff were perfect from the first time we went in to the morning after the wedding when we left. We never felt like we were annoying them. They answered all the questions we asked promptly. So thank you for everything. The food was excellent, all our guests commented on how amazing it was. Thank you to the chefs. The dj was amazing he did such a good job guests from another wedding came in so thank you so much. The photographer was fantastic and the collection of pics we got on the day were amazing our guests loved been able to take some photos hoke with them so thank you Paul. The toastmaster was amazing and we felt if we needed anything extra he would of sorted as soon as possible. Would definitely recommend having your wedding reception at King's croft. We got married here 18/07/2019 and what a perfect day it was from start to finish. We ended up getting married in the pavilion and what an added bonus that was, especially with the sun shining, Absolutely beautiful. All staff were lovely and helpful and Brian our toastmaster made sure everything ran smoothly. All our guests complimented on how lovely the whole day was and how beautiful the food was. We had our wedding breakfast & evening reception here on the 12th April 19. It was such an amazing day. Food was absolutely fantastic, great service throughout the day. Brian was our Toastmaster and was fab. Everything was perfect. The queens suite bridal suite is just amazing. Breakfast the morning after was beautiful. Dj played everything requested. EDIT : I have reduced my review star rating due to the length of time it has taken us to get our wedding photos back, having originally been told 6-8 weeks it actually ended up being 24 weeks, and because of a complete lack of interest by the hotel. Despite numerous phone calls and requests to speak to the owner, we felt fobbed off, the hotel were happy to take our money for the photographer but not to take any responsibility for the extensive delay in receiving our photos. …I am aware of several other unhappy brides who have had the same experience and it's hard not to let this tarnish our memories. This lack of after sales customer service has really put us off returning to the hotel. ORIGINAL: Got married here on Saturday 6th October and the whole weekend was absolutely perfect. I had a really stressful couple of weeks before the wedding but as soon as I walked through the door of the hotel on Friday afternoon I felt relaxed.
There were 15 of us staying over the night before and we all enjoyed a delicious meal.
The day of the wedding was completely stress free, all of the staff were very efficient and so pleasant and friendly, all of our guests commented on this and what an amazing venue it was.
A special mention for Paul the photographer who despite me not providing him with any lists of what I wanted still took the most amazing photos that included all the guests.

So… Lovely hotel. Brilliant food. Bit over priced on drinks… Hotel rooms big roomy loads of facilities powerful shower and quite… Now the reception staff especially the blond one. Unhelpful miserable very cold. But over all rest of staff very nice…

The place is nice enough… we booked for a certain time but were left waiting another half HR after… The food was ok … I had a carvery. It was a mixture of hot and cold veg. Staff were polite and helpful but the above needs some attention.

We went to a wedding her? The service was held in a large glass gazebo in a with fantastic views, the sit down meal was excellent, second to none, with a disco and hog roast for the night time guests made a perfect venue.

We arrived at the king's Croft and were warmly greeted by staff, who in my opinion are excellent. The surroundings are lovely and relaxing. The food is brilliant but my only criticism is the presentation, I ordered a mixed grill and it came with a plate and a wooden block? Looked good but I don't want to have to transfer my food from A to B. Just put it on a plate, eggs aren't easy to move with a knife and fork lol.

Went to wedding. Venue beautiful! Very well organised! Service brilliant! Food excellent! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as a wedding venue!

Beautiful grounds, nice food, shame about the building work. We weren't warned that building work was going on outside our bedroom window, it was very hot as there was no air circulation. It seems they are building rooms adjacent to our room, so goodness knows what it will be like when it is finished! If it wasn't for that we would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

The food is amazing large meals as well as shown in the picture I posted this is the best place I have been so far for a meal lovely chips they make to go with certain meals. The staff are great to have a convosation with as well if the owner was to read this he or she should give there bar staff and catering staff a great applaud. Hence why I am giving them a massive 5 star keep up the good work.

Attended this Beautiful place in beautiful settings for a family wedding. Staff were 90% friendly and provided a great service. However. Granted it was a busy weekend lots of Weddings going on … but only 1 ladies toilet working in main bar area which had been broke since 25th May (was told this by staff) and that there was tissue littered over floor told staff. On a return visit to toilet (an hour later) same issue in same area nothing had been done. The bedrooms are far too hot with no air conditioning in either bedroom or bathroom (to take shower steam away). Left me feeling claustrophobic. Shame.

I got married here in the pavilion followed by reception in the kings suite on 13/05/2018. The day couldn’t have been any more perfect, the venue is amazing, so much opportunity for photographs as the surroundings are beautiful (even our photographer was buzzing) the staff are first class, Abbie our wedding coordinator and Brian our toastmaster ensured our day ran perfectly. Brian keeping things moving along nicely, letting us know what’s happening where and when and ensuring we were happy with everything as we went. The food was gorgeous and service throughout the meal was very good, usually expect slow service with large parties but staff ensured everyone was eating at more or less the same time. The setting up of our reception by staff was great, hubby was very pleased as he was supplied with his drink of choice allday (fussy) by staff. Have to say our meal the night before was first class and all our guests commented on the breakfast aswell saying how delicious it was. One worry I had was that as there was so many weddings on that our wedding parties might end up mixed or there may be confusion, I can honestly say the only time we crossed paths was when the two bride and grooms were out doing sunset photographs, otherwise we wouldnt have known the other one was on. Really wouldn’t have one complaint to make about the whole place and service. Even the odd bits that I (the bride) forgot to bring in the stress of remembering everything, staff sent up to our room.

We had a brilliant wedding on 20th April 2018. It was an absolutely stunning venue and a perfect sunny day. We couldn't have asked for anymore. Sally was with us from day 1 and helped us out lots including booking a room for me and my bridesmaids the night before. My step mum was gluten free and my cousin was vegan and both were provided special meals and nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely delicious so many guests complimented us on our food. The bar man that was present all day and evening was brilliant (I dont know his name but he made our day really special), he couldn't do enough for us the night before the wedding and all day on the wedding day. He made us laugh lots and even when I was waiting to walk down the aisle he came to wish me luck and made me laugh to calm my nerves. He even made sure there were seperate utensils for my gluten free guest to avoid cross contamination which my step mum really appreciated. The DJ was fabulous too, we gave him a list of requests beforehand and he made sure our evening do ran smoothly and kept us in the loop of what was happening when which was great. He even arranged for food to be kept for us to eat at the end of the night incase we didn't get chance. Finally a big thanks to our toast master, he was brilliant! We felt so well looked after all day, nothing was too much trouble for him and he made our day run so smoothly. We can't thank him enough.

Attended for a wedding. Venue is very nice although the pond behind the glass pavilion needs clearing out. It's full of alge and a bit of an eyesore. But otherwise a very good venue.

When to a tribute night, the food was amazing but the room was too full not enough room to manoeuvre, the air con wasnt working so too hot in the function room and the price of drinks are rather high. The staff both on service and behind the bar were lovely.

We've been a couple of times, unfortunately for funerals, but the service has always been lovely. This time was a lot more pleasant and was a meet up with long lost family, we had afternoon tea and every wish was accommodated. And was all fabulous.

I am gluten free and attended a funeral breakfast there. My food was set out separately and brought out of the back once I got there. It was a lovely spread. Would highly recommend.

Great hotel and especially considered restaurant which is located in England. I have always eaten well and 2 times out of 3 The main course was perfect: cod and salmon cake fried with delicious big cut potatoes, haddok also bread with mashed potatoes with fragrant and perfumed peas. Order a glass of Merlot. All in all… unbelievable! Staff and class service.

Attended the fireworks event for bonfire night. Excellent atmosphere. Excellent value for money. Tribute act was picked well for both adults and kids. The fireworks went on for ages (unlike some 5min whoosh bang displays). The food was lovely, drinks prices were about average for an event (not massively ott) Will be booking again next year!

Stayed at the Kings croft for two nights for my sisters wedding. We had a small double, which was petite but as it was only for sleeping in, not an issue, beautiful wet room bathroom. The event meal was fantastic, huge portions, staff very attentive and helpful, nothing to much bother. Breakfast was lovely, my daughter doesn't eat cooked breakfasts but there was still plenty to keep her happy, cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit. Lovely stay, wedding well managed would recommend.

Nice mid priced hotel. Lovely 3 course meal in restaurant at a very good price. Waiting staff lacked a bit of finesse but were efficient. Our mattress was very soft but overall, for the price, very nice. Sadly we were there to attend a funeral at the crematorium and hotel was within walking distance.

Stayed between Xmas and new year. Rooms in annexe good and warm. Restaurant food good value.

It looked really pretty! Was only there to pick up the misses but she said she enjoyed to food and atmosphere.

Great establishment but the staff were very unequipped to deal with simple requests to make the corporate event run smoothly. Numerous times we had to request simple items such as pens and cups. Very unsatisfied.

I attended a wake at the Kings Croft Hotel yesterday and honestly have to say it was a superb venue. The staff were attentive and courteous, the food was delicious and highly appropriate to the occasion, the room was thoughtfully laid out and tastefully decorated. We had my own fathers wake at the same venue some 12 years ago in 2005, and I'm delighted to say the same fabulous standards have been maintained. I hold the King's Croft Hotel in very high regard and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

We used this amazing hotel to host our wedding. The day was amazing and they could not do enough for us to make sure it went as we wished. All of our guests really enjoyed it and the food served was exquisite for the price we paid. I couldn't recommend this place enough to anyone who might consider getting married here. As a hotel the rooms are roomy and clean and the breakfast is plentiful and tasty too.

The staff were very welcoming for an event that we attended, made the day perfect. The overnight rooms however are not so great. The bathroom flooded due to the fact no shower curtain was provided and the rooms were dusty.

Wedding I was attending was running late, not the venues fault, the staff were friendly and made a fuss over my 3yo daughter. The first drink I got was in a dirty glass, however the gent behind the bar replaced the drink no problem even though it was half way gone. The food was great (hog roast and bbq) the grounds were lovely and inside the venue was clean and very nice.

I can recommend this location for weddings. Professional attitude. Adaptability. Lovely rooms. Excellent food. What more could you ask?

We stopped here for the weekend for my sister's wedding so was able to get a good "feel" of the place. To be honest everyone I spoke to didn't have a bad word to say about this place. My only criticism would be the fact that when there is a disco in the halls downstairs you can hear it (quite loudly) in most of the rooms. Apart from that this place was "top notch". Rooms — apart from the above were great. Not massive but of a great standard. Some even have a nice little veranda. Staff — every member of staff I spoke to was happy and friendly but in a genuine way, not the forced way u sometimes see. Food — the meal we had in the restaurant and the wedding food were both amazing even managed to impress some of the harsher critics. The breakfast was good but not as good as the rest. Outside — the car park isn't massive but somehow seems to cope but what really impressed me was the outside wedding facilities. Brilliant views and with the right weather it's amazing, my words wouldn't do it justice. I'll definitely return and I know some that have already booked.

Amazing rooms with a beautiful view. Service was very good with a great dinner (amazing portion sizes). Breakfast was a little disappointing with a very small continental selection, however cooked breakfast was available on request.

Good service. I was there for my prom so had a buffet but nice food nonetheless. Lovely facilities and decoration.

Eaten there twice but never stopped. The food was honestly below average. Some salty. Some greasy. There was just 2 of us the first time then 7 the second time so a range of meals were experienced. If say eat at FARMER COPLEYS it's amazing there. And cheaper. And the quality it amazing.

This is a popular venue for weddings and also being sited not too far from the crematorium is popular for funeral teas (ranging from full English breakfast via buffet snacks to full menu dinners. My recent visit was to arrange for a funeral buffet but whilst there we had lunch. The meal was very good with a reason choice menu. There are a number of suites available for private functions in addition to the main dining room and bar areas. I was pleasantly surprised to find that food prices were less expensive than I envisaged and are on a par with other restaurants and pubs in the locality.

We were attending a funeral tea, staff were great, friendly and welcoming. The food was ok.

Never had a bad meal here at the many functions I have attended. Staff always polite. Lovely setting too.

The rooms in the bungalows are very nice and well furnished. The bed is comfortable although pillows could be better. The issue is the bathroom which floods due to the lack of doors in the shower cabin. Breakfast is OK, but the choice of continental breakfast would be welcomed. The cooked English gets boring after a couple of days.

We stayed at the kings crift hotel as we were guests at a wedding there. We had a bungalow room which was very comfortable. Everything about the experience was 5*.

I absolutely have nothing bad to say about this hotel I got married here on Saturday 23rd April 2016. The building is an amazing place! The staff are all wonderful I couldn't have asked any better. Each staff member worked hard to ensure my day was beautiful. Would definitely highly recommend this hotel and if I could do it all again I would certainly book the same venue. My guests loved the food, I couldn't fault that! The only thing I could complain about is, the food was only out for 40 minutes and there was a huge amount left over! At the end of the day, I paid for the food, so it was mine! But wasn't allowed to take it home!

Tuesday night steak night for a year started to get boring and monotonous, However, recently they have undergone some fantastic refurbishment and they do a mean teriyaki steak.

We recently celebrated my parents golden wedding here and would like to say how wonderful it was. We were a party of 12 and they gave us our own special room at no extra cost we took our own decorations and it looked lovely when we all arrived. The service and food was delicious. A big thank you to all concerned and thank you for making my parents day special.

From a wedding photographers perspective this quaint, grade 2 listed building with its beautifully landscaped gardens offers a wealth of photogenic scenes to really give your wedding photos the wow factor, with a little photographic imagination this venue can really provide some unique wedding photo opportunities. It also boasts plenty of cover outdoors and has plenty of options indoors should you encounter the worst of the English weather! I eat there quite regularly too and must say the variety and quality of the food served on your wedding day is second to none.

Attended a private function. Service was good but meal that arrived was not what I ordered. Sent meal back, when next meal came it was still not what I ordered even though waitress tried to tell me it was! This problem was repeated on another table in our party with the same result. The end result was that I attended a dinner and dance and ended up not having a meal, a totally unacceptable state of affairs.

Me and my wife have just stayed one night at the kings croft hotel for my sons evening wedding reception from booking in to booking out we found every member of staff to be helpful friendly and very polite the room we stayed in was of a very high standard we would definitely recommend this hotel. Had a carvery at Sunday lunch time today. Carvery and a dessert are 8.50 so good value. Enjoyed food although Im not a Carvery fan. Not bad at all. Have eaten here on an evening and found a la carte menu to be worth a visit and always really enjoyed my meals there. Service always good and prices not at all silly. Would definitely recommend.
