Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast and dinner great value and good quality.

We loved our 3 days staying here, staff all very friendly and helpful, the Italian lady who served us our breakfast and evening meal was ever so nice and excellent at her job, we would definitely return.

We have just returned home after 4 nights at The Red Lea and we were extremely sad to leave. The rooms were beautiful and clean, the food was out of this world and the staff went above and beyond for us. I'm blown away that this hotel is only rated 3* If you ever take a trip to Scarborough then The Red Lea is the place to stay! We cannot recommend this hotel enough! ☺️

Thank you for a fantastic stay last week. We were in a party of two couples. The staff were so friendly and attentive to all our needs. Comfortable rooms. We were at the back of the hotel, so no sea view. Room very Clean and well presented. Tea and coffee making facilities well stocked. Lovely bar and lounge areas. Great style and very comfortable. Again, great service from the wonderful staff.
Due to covid the pool was available by booking only in half hour slots. The bookings were made by party which gave exclusive use of the pool for the duration. The pool area includes a hot tub. Tiled, with seating, this has a lovely spa feel to it.
The breakfast menu has a great choice, and is served quickly and well cooked with quality produce. The service was very well staffed by the most courteous and friendly team. Not rushed, and nothing too much trouble.
We felt very welcome throughout our stay and will definitely return. Thank you to all at Red Lea.

Just back from a few days staying at the Red Lea hotel with my family of 3. We loved the grandeur of the hotel, tasteful decoration and exclusive use of the swimming pool. Breakfast and evening food choices were great, service was quick and responsive. Ladies at the desk were lovely, very friendly and accommodating. Great location too, away from the hustle and bustle and easy parking. We had a perfect few days get away, thank you Red Lea.

Fantastic few days spent in this lovely hotel. Everything was so organised and well set up for everyone's safety.
Rooms were spotless with very comfy beds.
The food was superb & staff were great. Nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely 4 nights at Red Lea with dinner bed and breakfast, felt very safe, very well organised. The food is absolutely delicious. The staff are absolutely fantastic, very friendly and nothing is too much even under the present circumstances. Thankyou to you all for making our break a safe and enjoyable 1.

Lovely kind friendly staff, fab bar area, lovely hot tub and pool area all Covid friendly, pool is a bit cold. Breakfast really good. Staff are a credit to the hotel. We will be back soon.

Loved our stay at the Red Lea Hotel. The best night's sleep in ages! We were so well looked after by the Management team, and would highly recommend this Hotel. The views from our sea view room were simply stunning. And the cleanliness, and covid19 measures put in place were of extremely high standard, and made us feel so safe and relaxed. This has to be the best Hotel we have stayed in at Scarborough, and we look forward to being able to visit again.

Absolutely fabulous. We’ve just had 3 days. Food was brilliant and the staff chatty friendly and in this time of ‘careful’ they carry themselves as a standard of how it should be done. See you soon xx

Our first visit was the night of our wedding 17 years ago, stayed last night and was not disappointed. On arrival we were greeted by two friendly staff members who upgraded us free of charge to a beautiful sea view suite. Room was fantastic. Went to the bar during the evening and again very friendly staff. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning but won’t wait another 17 years this time! Thank you so much.

Could be a little more disabled friendly. No ramps etc. Sure it wouldn’t be too costly to rearrange the front. Just saying.

We had a fab room, very spacious with sea view. The owners & staff were very friendly & helpful. Fab food and loved the pool, jacuzzi & sauna. Ideal location near to lift down to the beach. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed here in August 2018 and had a very enjoyable 4 day stay. Very clean. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Breakfast and evening meals were all very good with a good variety of choices. Entertainment each night during our stay was very good. On street free (parking permit/disc provided by hotel). Will definitely stay here again when in Scarborough.

Really clean and friendly hotel great variety acts most night of the week especially a guy called Joel. Lovely shower and baths in each room being updated all the time. Only a little remark service at breakfast needs more organising.

Weekend break with boyfriend. The hotel is traditional but modernised, with large fully equipped rooms and great sea views. Decent pool, gym with weights and studio area. Food really good. The staff make it — everyone is so friendly and it's genuine. Would totally recommend.

Me and partner stayed on Saturday for one night with my 2 year old daughter and would we highly recommend The Rea Lea. The staff were very friendly and helpful and they all took time to speak to my daughter. Our room was big with lots of space and I can’t fault it at all, not only was it clean and comfortable it had an amazing view of the sea. Breakfast was a fast service and was warm and served within good time. The hotel was excellent value for money as not only did we have Swimming, hot tub and the gym included in the price my daughter stayed free of charge with a full English breakfast and able to use the pool as well! We can’t wait to visit again.

We stayed in one of the apartments. Beautifully decorated and close to sea in South bay. Breakfast was included in the rate. A popular place for coach trips. Quite expensive but dependable so probably worth it.

Very good service. We stayed in an apartment with sea view. The cooked breakfasts are really good for vegans and vegetarians. The staff all know the difference. The place is clean, everywhere. Best are really comfortable. Definitely worth going back again in future.

Lovely hotel, good food, nice staff. Seventh time here always the same. This weekend has been the coldest anyone remembers but the staff brought extra heaters out and offered extra blankets can't fault it.

Slept in a big room for a very reasonable price. Breakfast was excellent. Staff only too happy to help.

The Red Lea is a gem of a hotel, our Yorkshire Hash House Harriers social group had a wonderful fun weekend here. We had fancy dress also a superb gala dinner and a band, food and facilities are top notch. Big thanx to the very obliging staff who joined in the fun with us. Location is priceless and so handy. Our whole group 95 of us want to return next January, so we have booked it again… yipee!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here this bank holiday weekend, staff were all genuinely so nice, room was well presented upon arrival and has all of the amenities expected of a mid priced hotel room. (32" TV, tea facilities, iron & board, hairdryer & phone) Pool is very small, nice place to take a dip before breakfast/dinner but not possible to use for "lengths" as it were, it was however clean and well presented, hot tub was great, very very hot but I could only get half of the jets to work properly not sure if it was an issue or me just not understanding the buttons. Breakfast was fantastic, a really great selection on offer from the standard cereals and full English to fresh fruit and yoghurt (personal favourite) plenty of attentive staff who ensured you were in and out as quickly or as slowly as you pleased despite a 75% full dining room. Bar was okay, there were plenty of spirits on offer, bottled and draught beer (unfortunately only Carling! ) and a decent selection of wines, being a beer drinker however I opted to head into town to get my fix, Carling just isn't my thing, sorry. Onto the bedroom, we had a sea view overlooking the park, it really was a beautiful view, we could see all the way down the coast, the lighthouse flickering away in the distance was genuinely beautiful.

Just Signed up for 6 months Gym Membership and i'm so glad that I did, Simply Excellent, Very Clean, Very Quiet, Loving every Minute of it and Feel Awesome too :)

Thank you to all the staff at the Red Lea Hotel, my husband, myself and two friends stayed in Apartment two for four nights and had a great time. The apartment was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The serving staff in the hotel were friendly, polite and always cheerful. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble.

We had a 1 night stay on the 16th June for our first wedding anniversary. The ladies on reception where brilliant very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. When we'd checked in to the room which was lovely plenty of space spa bath tub, we decided to use the pool was lovely and refreshing very clean, we spoke to the same ladies on reception who asked why we was here for the stay we said our anniversary and dint think any more of it we went back to the room and then the ladies came with a bottle of prosseco for us as a gift from the hotel. This really made our day and we are very greatful. Had a wonderful stay and will definitely return.

Worthy of a 4* rating rather than 3. We stayed in the attached apartment which was modern and very comfortably accommodated 4 adults. Hotel has lovely staff, breakfast choices are great from cereal to fresh made porridge followed by a traditional full English, kipper or salmon and scrambled eggs. Would definately come back again and recommend this hotel to others.

Lovely old hotel with excellent service from reception staff. Large comfy room. Swimming pool is quite small but OK if not too busy. Parking outside with voucher disc for 2 days which was good. Only downside for me was breakfasthe, it's all waitress service, they were efficient and friendly but I guess I'm used to a buffet service and getting my own cereal, etc, and no fresh or tinned fruit on offer only grapefruit very surprised and heard other person asking for fruit also. Overall a nice stay.

The Red Lea Hotel should be rated much higher than 4.0! The staff are wonderful and the facilities are as good as you get, Food was great and service was excellent. What more could you want? Les.

Went for coffee at the hotel. Service was great. Pleased that soya milk was on offer. Comfortable, relaxing surroundings.

Hotel was lovely, big bedrooms, friendly staff. We had w baby with us so they out us in a room which was farthest away from all the noise. Lovely good.

Just stayed at red lea hotel for 5 days via nova travel. We had such an enjoyable expearance I decided to write this review. rooms 111 and 104 were modern, spacious, clean comfortable and nicely decorated. All areas of the hotel were pleasantly decorated and clean. Local beers were available and the entertainment was the best I have seen for many years of holidaying in british hotels. The staff were proffesional and customer motivated A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL AT RED LEA.

I used to visit Scarborough as a child 30 years ago to visit my grandparents on Prince of Wales Terrace and decided to take a trip down memory lane with my partner. I asked for a room with a sea view and we were given room 211. What a view it was! Nothing had changed really and I could have sat in the bay window looking out for hours. Lovely clean room — a warm, friendly old-fashioned (perhaps a little faded from its original glory) hotel with helpful, cheerful staff. For us, it couldn't have been better. Perfect seaside holiday accommodation. We will be back!

Negatives first. The fixtures and furnishing are tired and need replacing. The decor was a bit drab and the cleanliness of the room left a bit to be desired. Dusty everywhere. The TV was too small and couldn't get all channels. Don't like carpets in toilet/bathroom — unhygienic Positives: The staff were pleasant. The room we had was a nice size with a good sea view. The food was good. Nice size swimming pool and hot tub. Pleasant sitting room and bar with evening entertainment. Handy for the Spa/beach with the lift only a short walk. More positives than negatives. Not bad VFM.
