Great location in a lovely Village with a pub across the road. ideal location for visiting Battle and the Sussex Coast. Room big and clean with everything you need, free parking on site.

A very enjoyable family meal to celebrate a special birthday. The food was lovely and we were well looked after by a warm and friendly team.

Superb gardens and lovely building! Very rural picturesque and peaceful. Food is excellent and restaurant is Cosy. Staff could be friendlier! Drinks are pricey and bar closes way to early. The breakfast is very good! It’s superb setting for a wedding or special occasion!

My wife and I had a superb meal in the restaurant at the Brickwall Hotel yesterday evening celebrating our 55th Wedding Anniversary. Very grateful to Julio and the other members of the team for the care and attention shown, despite the difficulties of social distancing in the current circumstances. First class service!

We choose to spend our 1 year wedding anniversary here just last night because when my wife and I first stayed here it was an amazing place, we received great service in the restaurant and at the reception also. The friendly staff make this place what it is. They are a credit to the venue. Even the people who stay at the Brickwall hotel are polite and friendly as it has a great reputation obviously. We definitely recommend the Brickwall hotel to anyone and everyone we know and are 100% going to stay here again in the future. Thank You to all at the Brickwall hotel.

Yet another outstanding lunch at The Brickwall this Sunday. Sugar roast duck with cherry and orange sauce, fresh veg, delicious cauliflower cheese. Fab selection of wines attentive professional happy staff and set in a beautiful comfy hotel. The refurbished public areas are fresh and clean and just the greatest lunch experience xx 10/10

Very warm welcome at the door from Tracey on Reception. Most helpful with information. Happily showed us the rooms we had booked for our bridal party in December.
We had a very good cafetiere of coffe with a to die for piece of Bakewell Tart.

Not the best interiors you've seen but alright to spend a night near Sedlecombe's organic vineyard. Very good hospitality standard and a restaurant that could meet everyone's desires.

Returned for a midweek break May 2018, great food, excellent presentation & very attentive service, but find extra charge for coffee of £3:50 after dinner, unusual. Popular venue, even midweek, great ambiance, even the local geese on the green seem friendly. Large garden centre within walking distance, ladies hairdresser across the road for the wife, and an interesting pub next door for me. No ATM in the village, but Post Office in village stores will allow withdrawals on debit cards. If walking in the village at night, a torch is useful, limited lighting, very dark in places. My wife and I always feel welcome here, our next visit is likely to be Christmas and New year.

Although the accommodation is nothing out of the ordinary, the service is excellent and the food is superb. Love the village setting and the gueese that walk on the green. Excellent location for exploring the south coast. Very popular, book in advance.

Excellent service for a birthday party. Food was served perfectly by attentive waiters. Beautifully laid out table in a warm conservatory. Would highly recommend a special occasion dinner here.

We always stay here when we visit relatives in Sussex. The staff are always polite, friendly and eager to help in anyway they can. The food in the restaurant is first class and there is plenty of choice of cold or hot dishes for breakfast. The hotel itself is a little tired, but the beds (priority with me) are always comfortable. Rated 3* so no complaints whatsoever.

Our second time here for a Xmas lunch. The food and service are excellent, however the drinks are a little expensive.

Having visited around four times, my family has always found the Brickwall to be a most pleasant hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms comfortable. Though the highlight has always been the excellent food. This time, we were pleased to see that the rooms have been spruced up and much of the older furniture either reupholstered or replaced. Very comfortable king sized beds were in evidence. The staff were personable but less efficient than in the past. That said, both Julio the manager and Mr Pollio (owner) made us feel welcome. However, this time we had some problems with our Saturday breakfast and dinner. My children ordered scrambled eggs for breakfast and when it arrived neither tucked in with their normal gusto. When we tasted it there was a definite "burned" flavour as if the pot had "caught" and tainted the batch prepared. We pointed this out to the waiter who did not offer an alternative. For my wife's birthday dinner on Saturday our party sat down to a very pleasant series of starters. When the mains arrived there were a few problems (4/7). The bream and cod had a very strong odour more akin to frozen Pollock this made my daughter feel a little off colour and she ate little (in spite of being a great fan of cod) Three of us ordered the duckling and two of the three servings were extremely tough and over-cooked. I asked for them to be replaced and this was effected but this is not quite the high standard one usually experiences here.

Lovely hotel. Great quirky bedroom with slightly sloping floor! Wonderful breakfast. Very friendly staff. Added bonus of geese paying us a visit in the evening and again in the morning. Only bad thing I have to say was there were cobwebs around the windows and bathroom window but that's something that can easy

What a lovely place to have lunch. We had a memorial lunch for my husband's sister. The manager and staff were amazing, the food delicious. Can't rate them highly enough. Thank you so much xx.

Location is beautiful, interior is quintessential and service was excellent.

We held our Wedding day Luncheon for 30 people in the Garden room. Nothing was too much trouble for Julian and his team and they worked so hard to make sure everything was perfect for us. The food was delicious and the service was superb. Thank you once again for a wonderful day.

Beautiful place to stay at. The staff is very accommodating. The restaurant on site is very good and the pub next door is also convenient for longer stays.

Excellent food and service. I love this place. Been coming here for over 30yrs and have never been disappointed.

The hotel rooms are spacious and nicely heated in the winter. My only complaint is the shower head being very short — I'm 5'8" (173cm) and basically had to squat awkwardly to wash my hair. The staff were amazing, warm, friendly and welcoming. Food was absolutely delicious and served promptly. They also have a good selection of tasty wines. The atmosphere, look and feel of the whole place is gorgeous! Would definitely recommend :)

Good food with good portion sizes.

I went there for a Christmas meal with her club with my mum and the service was second to none. The food was lovely. The evening was lovely and the atmosphere was cosy.

Held my daughters 18th birthday meal at the Brickwall, Aldo and his team were fantastic, everyone had a wonderful time, wouldn't hesitate to go back. Food was great, local Hastings beer went down a treat.

I held my wedding reception at the Brickwall on 20.4.2013. From my first meeting with Aldo I knew I had chosen the right place for my big day. Aldo co ordinated the wedding stationer, room dressers and DJ, nothing was too much trouble. I expected good service and good food but I recieved EXCELLENT service and food. I even had an added guest my small granddaughter who needed something to eat quite quickly, no trouble at all for the Brickwall. Without exception all of my guests said that the setting was perfect, the food fabulous and their experience was wonderful, the best wedding reception they had ever been to. So a really big thank you to Aldo and ALL the staff at the Brickwall Hotel xxxx.
