Delicious food in the restaurant and excellent bar snacks if it's something lighter you require. I have been coming to The Langham, yearly, for the past 9 years and that will definitely continue.

The most delicious starter I have ever had the pleasure to try — crab and crayfish avocado stack with caviar. The rest of the meal was delicious too, and the waiting staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

We had the most wonderful Sunday lunch at the Langham yesterday. Amazing food, service and ambience. We were back today for bar snacks. Fabulous fish and chips, burgers and soup. The value is incredible and the staff are all so friendly and professional. Many thanks.

My partner and I stayed here overnight on a weekend coastal trip, and had one of the city view rooms. The hotel's decor looks a little dated, but in a charming way. The room was reasonably sized with a decently comfortable bed, and a nice sized bath with a shower overhead. There were also monogrammed robes in the room which were a nice touch. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs within a short walking distance, and we were able to find street parking just around the corner from the hotel. A simple but tasty two course breakfast was included. The hotel staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, and we were even given a bottle of water for our onward journey when we checked out, which was really thoughtful.

A very pleasant 2 night stay in gorgeous seafront suites. Mum and Dad had the Amberley room and were delighted. The staff were super all round, upstairs and downstairs. Food excellent too. The fish and chip dinner was massive! Table service breakfast was excellent as well as dinners. Hopefully we’ll be back next year :)

As we live in Eastbourne, we were out walking towards the hotel. We went in for coffee. It comes with a free flapjack or shortbread. Now who offers that these days. In all honesty we wouldn't mind if they charged an extra 50p. We've tried to eat there for dinner once, as many of our friends have said that the food is great but it was fully booked. We will try to book another time. The hotel looks on to the sea over a main road but you're not aware of it from inside looking out. It has a nice seatng area outside but while you people watch or chat the road becomes insignificant.

I have spent only one night but the overall experience has been very positive. Pros: very clean, quite, generous breakfast, polite and helpful staff, good location (20 mins from the station and less than 10 from the main street) spectacular sea sight. Cons: furniture a bit old, no air con (at least not in my room, but there was a small fan), no fridge, Wi-Fi did not work well (they told me that that week they got some issue with Internet on my floor and a technician would have come soon to fix the issue), a bit expensive, no blinds (I got curtains in my room but at 6 am there was already light in my room, so my advice is to bring a mask with you). For a 4-star hotel I would expect a bit more.

Just spent 4 wonderful days at the Langham I wouldn't hesitate on recommending it to anyone. Had a wonderful stay with excellent weather too. Excellent care, service and food. Credit due to good management and teamwork My only comment would be more care to be taken at keeping the outdoor tables, chair area better. Could do with a good sweep and hose down. Not good when you have to request table go be cleaned due to sticky spillages and full ashtrays. I hope in the future that I may be lucky enough to visit again. Room 222 Mrs Cooper.

I had a lovely stay at the Langham. I had a double room with a sea view and was pleasantly surprised to find that I had a room with a large bay window. The room was bright and clean and had a somewhat newly refurbished bathroom. Tea facilities were what I would expect, there was a hairdryer at the vanity table, and a couple of chairs with a table to look out over the ocean. The bed was comfortable and the towels in the bathroom were also nice. My only 'complaints' would be that a lot of light came in in the morning, so I was woken up a few times by that, and the shower struggled to get warm. Breakfast in the morning was enjoyable, and check out was simple, with reception staff also being helpful despite the busy time I checked out at. I would like to stay again as it's a great location, not too expensive, and the rooms are clean and quiet.

We stayed Monday night booking at the last minute. We had an town view room which was excellent. Beautifully clean and well thought out. The staff were very friendly and service during breakfast lovely. We would reccomend the hotel and intend to visit again.

Nice place for lunch with views of the sea. Good Club Sandwich and fries. No choice of milk for tea was a let down.

Attended a Ladies weekend and it was great. Nothing too much trouble for the staff, who were so pleasant. Rooms were well appointed and spotlessly clear. Food was exceptionally good, including the bar snacks.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The breakfast was good, but not in buffet style.

Stayed in the hotel over Easter weekend one night, it was absolutely lovely! We had a room with sea view so nice to wake up to. A nice touch was chocolate and Easter card that was left for us on the coffee table. Bed was comfortable, breakfast very nice. Really enjoyed our stay, Thank you XXX.

Great room (we had a suite complete with bath robes and slippers with a fantastic view of the sea), and great food. Shame there wasn't more food on the plate at breakfast although what came was of really good quality. The weekend we stayed there was a private function which took over the hotel to the detriment of the residents and we also had to pay for a parking spot which we've never done when staying at other hotels. However, it was clean and tidy and we would stay there again.

My friend and I had a bad experience at this hotel. We were not staying there, but called in for lunch. Despite being the only customers in the restaurant, we had to wait an hour for our meal. The menu was extremely misleading (price wise) as most of the meals had supplements added on, and the restaurant was offering 2 courses for £16. And the choice at this price was very limited. When the supplement was added on, the cost of the meal, was half as much again. However I must say that the waiter who served us was a very charming and helpful young man.

Stayed for one night, lovely hotel, great sea view rooms, nice breakfast and very friendly staff! Would recommend if visiting Eastbourne!

We have just spent 3 nights in this hotel and it was fantastic! Everything was perfect, the food is amazing (we ate so much) the staff were so friendly and attentive you couldn’t ask for better, our room was beautiful, immaculate, comfortable, massive and the sea view was gorgeous. Even the entertainment staff were very friendly. One of my favourite things at this hotel was going around looking at all the photos on the walls! It was like a gallery at your fingertips.
We also met the owner mr Neil Kirby who was a lovely chap and so down to earth, he really made an effort with his guests, and I love the fact that he started off as a washer upper at 16 and the experience he has gained in his career is now showing in the way he runs his hotel. Can’t wait to get back there.

My friend Barbara's post funeral reception was held at the Langham yesterday. The staff were very attentive and the food was plentiful and delicious. My friends were all eating as I looked on enviously, until a plate of gluten free food arrived for me. A waiter had noticed that I had nothing and enquired why. Well done The Langham.

I attended a jazz lunch at the Langham. I parked my car on Eastbourne seafront with no problems and walked across the road to the hotel. The food was tasty and nicely presented. The jazz trio were good to listen to while chatting over lunch with my friends and all the staff were pleasant and helpful. After our meal we went into the bar area where we had our coffees until we were ready to leave. All in all, a very nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Excellent service from all members of the team, great room with beautiful view of the sea, even on a blistery autumn day. Dined in the restaurant and can highly recommend the food here, especially the mushroom starter and crepes for dessert!

We were in Eastbourne for a Ladies Festival and stayed here at the Langham. The hotel is very nicely appointed, with wonky floors and a warren of corridors — it's an old building — and spacious dining halls and bar areas. We spent 2 nights there in a lovely double room with en-suite (lovely shower) and lots of storage and used it as a base to explore Eastbourne. As the hotel is quite an old building and is located right on the beach, there is very limited parking on site, so we had to leave our cars at the local TA base which is just a few minutes walk away — not a problem. The food was excellent, befitting a Ladies Festival, and the 5 courses all arrived in good time with no rushing of the guests at all. Breakfast, on the other hand was a different affair. Once seated at the table and with our breakfast order taken, the coffee and juice arrived within ten minutes but the meals routinely took 45 minutes or more — not just for us but for most people in the restaurant. How can it take that long to cook a full English or prepare a croissant? Anyway, breakfast aside, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We have been to many functions at The Langham, including our wedding reception, and have always received excellent service. My husband celebrated a special birthday on Saturday so as a treat I had booked us into one of the sea view suites. We were lucky to be given the recently refurbished Amberley Suite which has been done to a very high standard. The queen size bed was very comfortable as were the bath robes which have the old fashioned bathing hut as their emblem embroidered on them. There are plenty of hangers in the wardrobe space as well as a luggage rack. Guests also have the use of an in-room safe, which is always a bonus. Tea and coffee facilities, a hairdryer, a sofa and a seating area (in front of the huge picture window with a fabulous sea view) slippers and plenty of towels were also available. The bathroom was immaculate. Breakfast was taken in the conservatory and there was plenty of choice. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The owner, Neil Kirby, his wife, Wendy, their sons, Simon the manager and alll the other staff always make the guests their top priority and know the meaning of great customer care and service. Can't wait for my next visit for afternoon tea!

Pot of tea, or cup of filter coffee and a flapjack for less than £2.50 seems to be highly popular order… ordering at the bar and then taking a number to be served at table… a pretty slow process, it has to be said. Queues at the bar can be irritating. That said, it is friendly enough, the drinks are good enough, the seating comfy enough and the vibe is good. Clientele is a mixture of ages and stages, but mainly older folk. A sun terrace overlooking the road and prom is not as bad as it sounds. Popular and low-level buzzy. Not at all bad. A friend stayed at the hotel part, and liked the food and staff too… Not sophisticated, but friendly and welcoming. One to have along with others in the repertoire of local cafes.

Eat in the conservatory, nice view of the front and the pier, must be nice in the summer. Food was good until the cheese and biscuits arrived, rarely have I seen such a poor selection of cheese on a plate, the ubiquitous Cheddar, Stilton and Brie. Surely Sussex must have some artisan cheese makers. Did rather spoil a good meal. Waiting staff was excellent.

What a fantastic hotel this is. Staff friendly and helpful. Food out of this world. Such a high standard of cleanliness throughout. It does deserve its 4 ☆s. Well done. This hotel is doig it right.

I visited the Langham Hotel for a professional away day. The atmosphere was lovely, the food and stationery supplied were good and the hotel was very easy to find.

Everyone is very friendly and the rooms are spotless would definitely come back.

I stayed here due to work and upon arrival I was very happy with the choice of hotel. It is right alongside the seafront, the entrance is welcoming, and all the public areas are well decorated and nicely maintained. The staff were very helpful, and even allowed us to replace our included breakfast with complimentary lunch sandwiches instead. I recommend the beef and horseradish :) Then I'll take you through the rooms. They were dated, very dated. The room was tiny and the shower room tinier. The shower itself was quite useless but it managed to do the job. All in all this hotel has great promise. The main areas and the staff are excellent, but the rooms let it down. If the hotel were to spend a substantial amount renovating the rooms, the room size wouldn't be an issue, and the hotel could be on par with many Hilton's. But we are in hard financial times, so I wouldn't expect it to change any when soon.

Stayed here on a Turkey and Tinsel break in November 2009. Clean, well-run hotel with efficient staff, good food and service. (Breakfast was fully served at table: no fetching cereals or making your own toast! ) Recommended.

I booked this hotel for a relaxing weekend! our room was next to a victorian lift which chugged away all day and night, then we had a drunk banging on our door at 5.45 claiming she was roomservice followed by heaving and wailing, and to top it of the manager and a customer had a full scale slanging match complete with colourful language which later involved the police, so where was basil fawlty hiding as the whole place seemed like a joke. Not recommended for a relaxing weekend. This is an honest review.
