I recently had my baby shower at the Vale Resort and it was fantastic. We had it in the Conservatory which is a light and spacious room at the back of the hotel overlooking the golf course, all my guests were really impressed and said it was the perfect venue for the occasion. We had a buffet afternoon tea which was delicious as well as a tasty selection of teas. I chose to have Prosecco on arrival which also added to the day. I booked the shower with Laura Jenkins in the sales department and she was nothing but wonderful, it was so easy to communicate with her and she sorted out everything I wanted easily, especially some serious dietary requirements that some of my guests had. The kitchen also took these very seriously and made sure my friends were taken care of and had their own special versions of the afternoon tea. They even changed the main menu to make sure there would be none of the allergens in the food. Overall, a fantastic afternoon and I would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a venue for their next event.

The hotel might be 4* but spa is 2* at best. Been a member for over 20yrs and the spa/pool/sauna been neglected for years. It’s all I use really and is very poor. The spa tub been out of action all summer. I imagine what would be done if members decided to say their direct debits were ‘out of action’ all summer!

Vale Resort the night before my wedding. I knew the venue was beautiful from attending a previous wedding fayre, but I was overwhelmed by how amazing the staff were during my visit. Before I arrived I was a very anxious bride counting down the hours for my special day to start, but very quickly I was too busy relaxing to look at the clock! From start to finish the staff went above and beyond. They offered to help me with anything and everything without me even asking. The ladies on reception were extremely kind and seemed so genuinely excited to know about our wedding, which was really touching. There were two ladies at reception in particular (one was called Rebekah and unfortunately I didn't grab the other ladies name but she was at Hensol also on my wedding day! ) I've never experienced a nicer team and they made the whole day so welcoming and special. Thank you all so much!

Just returned from another fantastic stay at The Vale, great service from start to finish and the food was amazing. Will be back with the kids after having a nice break away this time.

Everything went very well. Hotel and courses look good, staff were helpful, food was good, rooms very goods. X.

Upon arrival the welcome was warm and with a smile. The room was a family room 121 Enough for 2 adults and 4 kids although we had only 2 Facilities were excellent and the staff in the gym were very helpful too. Breakfast was superb, all food freshly cooked and huge choice. Value for money and would highly recommend.

Champagne afternoon tea was delicious, staff very pleasant and attentive. Thoroughly enjoyed our special afternoon celebrating a 3 yr belated silver wedding anniversary x thank you to all xxx.

Thought it was very overrated — stayed last summer when masks were to be worn in all public spaces but no one taking any notice.

The spa is amazing! Highly recommend the treatments on offer. I had a massage and it was so relaxing.

My daughter and I came for lunch and pamper package. Facial & massage. Lovely girl that done them. Overall a lovely experience.

My mom and I went to the spa for her birthday with the serenity package! what a wonderful experience with a great variety of amenities to use in between treatments. Such a lovely place with helpful staff and a relaxing atmosphere.

Our stay was a massive disappointment. Too many guests, not enough competent staff. Prices have gone up, standards and service have dropped.

My partner and I stayed here this weekend for a spa getaway. The pool and massages were amazing (I had the pregnancy massage). The sauna and steam room were very busy, so my partner struggling to get in in one. But the relaxing room were great, especially the heated water bed. The staff upstairs at the spa where delightful as where the people working in reception (I believe we were served my Karys). For us the only negative experience we had was at the grill, the food was cold and it took over 20 minutes for the gentlemen to ask us for our order after giving us the menu. The breakfast however, was lovely.

Me and my sister stayed here for 2nights on a spa break, the staff are very helpful and friendly. The food was really nice and the rooms are nice too. Would recommend and would definitely go again.

Place is great, Absolutely amazing food and service 5 ⭐️. Highly recommended. Staffs super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back 👏🏼😄 xx.

Great golf, hotel bar & restaurant staff seem to be inexperienced & under trained.

A surprise birthday present so was a lovely experience, weather spoilt the fact we couldn’t sit out on the terrace but the staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough.

Lovely lunch today although it was bad weather. Ideal place to go, lovely friendly staff.

Friendly & accommodating staff AND members plus great golf courses. Thoroughly recommend the Vale.

Awesome Health Club. Thank you so much for what you are doing for members during lockdown. The on demand classes are good but the live streaming sessions you are providing are absolutely awesone. So motivating to see instructors I know in a familiar background! Attended great workouts with Rhys, Max, Stu and my regular yoga pal Jo. Also new (to me) pilates instructor whose name I didnt catch (sorry). Thanks guys you're making lockdown bearable xxx.

Lovely spa afternoon lovely greeting on arrival food was beautiful and excellent social distancing in the spa would highly recommended.

Fantastic venue and very helpful staff. We have stayed at the Vale several times and have always had exceptional experience and service. So much so that we got married there in September 2020.
Our special day couldn’t have been better even with COVID restrictions in place. Laura our wedding planner was amazing.
We would highly recommend The Vale. The golf courses are set in beautiful countryside and are a pleasure to play. The food and accommodation are top quality along with the staff who give excellent service.

Stunning takeaway afternoon tea. Cakes were fab. Excellent idea!

It was my first visit to the hotel along with a friend. The visit was a gift from our husbands for our birthdays. On arrival we were told that the room hadn’t been paid for, further investigating proved it had been paid for but took a phone call to our husbands and proof the money had been taken from the bank. We were asked to select a time and choice of breakfast which we did. The room was spacious with a lovely view but had cobwebs and the balcony was filthy. We booked dinner for 21.15 and arrived at the bar around 20.30 and was asked to take a seat and someone would be along to take our order. After 25 mins a lady approached us wearing a mask and then pulled the mask down to ask us what we wanted, we requested 2 gins with lemonade, she replied “ 2 gin and tonics? ” We said no, lemonade, we don’t like tonic, 10 minutes later our drinks were brought to us, they we’re gin and tonics, my friend took them to the bar and explained where 2 members of staff proceeded to taste the drinks! 10 mins later we were due our dinner booking so approached the bar and asked for our drinks to take into the restaurant, we were given them and paid. The meal was outstanding as was the service and we also received 2 complimentary gin and lemonades.

Despite current restrictions due to Covid the hotel and golf staff werevery friendly and helpful. The hotel room was very spacious and comfortable. The food for the evening meal was fantastic but above all the two golf courses, The National and The Lakes course were wonderful. Set in the rolling hills of Cardif both courses were an absolute delight and in fantastic condition. We had a great deal for the weekend and I'll be highly reccomending the Vale to everyone and I'll be heading back as soon as possible. Thank you Vale resort. Loved it.

This place is wonderful. The staff were so down to earth and friendly and the the setting is simply beautiful.

Following the government advice to only undertake essential travel I reluctantly decided to cancel a planned golf trip to the Vale on the 5th April. The Vale refused to refund my £100 deposit. Absolutely unacceptable in the present climate.

Such a beautiful hotel. Breakfast delicious, room perfect, bed so comfortable. Can’t wait to go back.

The spa is wonderful. And I had the most bc amazing swedish massage from Chloe.

What a treat to stay here beautiful setting enjoyed walking around the grounds. The room was spectacular had everything you could need huge bed made a change from being at home and my man stealing all the room. Joking aside could not fault this hotel the staff were amazing so helpful and friendly and the food was lush we will definitely be returning here was so nice seeing the staff take pride in there work especially in the restaurant. We throughly enjoyed our stay and using the pool & spa nothing was too much trouble.

We went for the New Years Eve party, and what a night it was! Good food, good drink and excellent entertainment! But more than that… the staff were outstanding. Well done to them all. We’ll be back for the next one.

Back from another amazing spa day, as usual high standard from the staff and spa… Professional masseuse, luxury facial and a big selection of relaxation zones to choose from We had the 2 course buffet lunch and afternoon tea. Both delicious with a glass of Prosecco.

Beautiful resort, we had our wedding here on Saturday and couldn't of asked for a better venue. Outstanding service.

Tough courses but brilliant and resort is excellent, staff very friendly prices reasonable.

Friend and I visited for a spa day and had a lovely relaxing day with excellent service. We both had the aromatherapy massage which was amazing. Our therapists were Caitlin and Atlanta who were both excellent. Whilst the resort doesn't have lots of different steam rooms etc (like AquaSana for example), what they do have is good quality and means you can spend plenty of time relaxing in each area — we visited on a Monday and it wasn't too busy either. The buffet lunch was excellent — great choice and quality. We will definitely be back!

Would thoroughly recommend The Vale for a Spa break. Booked the Spring B&B Spa deal which is great value for money. Great Spa treatment and facilities and lovely room, evening meal, breakfast in the hotel and buffet lunch at the Spa.

The Vale resort and Staff was excellent. Food was good… The National Golf Course was probably the best Golf Course I have ever played on.

Hotel was of excellent quality and the reception staff was efficient, helpful and friendly. The menu had a wide choice however the quality of the food was mediocre. The table service was good. Breakfast was good with a wide choice of starters and excellent main courses.

Excellent Golf resort. Hotel is more 3* But rooms are clean and comfortable but not 4*. Restaurant offers standard hotel fair but presented well. Two main bars. The piano bar offers better quality spirits than the restaurant bar. This might be a distraction if a golfing group are staying!

New favourite spa day venue (and I have been to most venues locally). Myself and a friend had purchased the Wednesday spa and lunch deal with a 55 minute treatment. The food was delicious, a healthy buffet. I couldn't get over the amount of relaxation areas available to the guests. The facilities were spotless but the reason I will definitely be returning was down the staff. The girls working on the spa reception were lovely throughout the day. Showed us round upon arrival and couldn't do enough to accommodate. At previous venues on par with the vale I have found the staff can be really quite snobby so this was really refreshing.

Stayed two nights at the Vale for a wedding in Hensol Castle. As someone with complex food intolerances, I cannot praise the amazing staff highly enough. I sent through a list of what I could eat and they catered for me perfectly (lunch, 2x breakfast, 2x dinner). Nothing was too much trouble and my meals were similar to everyone else’s so I didn’t feel left out. Thank you!

Came for a wedding, the bar staff for the wedding were superb friendly good some even spoke welsh. The bar staff in the residence bar however were terrible. They were rude and terrible at their job. I ordered an old fashioned (circa £9) and it was the worst, watered down nonsense I’ve ever drunk.

Chose a two night spa offer. Excellent. My room 230 was perfect. Beautiful view from my veranda. Every member of staff in reception, dining room, spa, to room cleaners, were so polite and helpful. We had breakfast, lunch in the spa, and dinner. All were perfect. Spa treatments very professional and relaxing.
Was given a map for me to go for a walk. This I found lacking. Footpath signs ere confusing with paths overgrown and some fields had cows in them.
Hope to be back end of the month to treat my niece to a treatment and afternoon tea which I’m told is delicious.

Booked a 2 night stay and it was just what we need. Excellent service as the staff were wonderful. We will definitely stay here again.

Great relaxing day out. I treated my partner to this day for her birthday doing the couples deal. I was surprised to enjoy it so much myself, batteries now recharged.

Really comfortable super king size bed. Plenty of coffees and teas in the room. Very quiet even though a Premiership football team and a pro 14 rugby team were staying. Staff make you feel welcome. We had a junior suite and even my car got a VIP space right outside the entrance. Didn't use the spa facilities cause they were fully booked so that is why not 5 star. Rainfall shower was lovely and helped you to chill out. Had evening meal which was of a high standard and breakfast too sitting near half of the Welsh rugby team and staff. Enjoyable stay for the both of us. Thank you Vale.

The Spa day is fantastic. The water beds are out of this world. Lunch was spot on to align with the spa experience. Probably the best in Wales at the moment.

Peaceful setting with nice rooms and facilities. Great gym and spa facilities at reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and menus are varied — unless you have dinner as part of your booking package.

Easy to find and wonderful surroundings. Good sized room with a large, comfortable bed and a balcony. Good selection of facilities with wide choice of food and drink, though the dinner included in some packages has a very limited menu.

Golf member visiting the resort for an afternoon tea and for wife to purchase a spa treatment. Asked if the wife could use the health club changing room to get ready for afternoon tea. Sadly lady on reception said no. Wife was considering health membership but has now decided to join Village Hotel in Cardiff instead. I'm pleased to say the golf staff were far more amenable and allowed my wife to use visitors locker room. That's how you lose business!

Stayed two nights. Rooms were spacious and welcoming. Kept nice and clean. Great service for breakfast and dinner! Would recommend.

Very high standard, nice rooms, the spa was just amazing with great personal service. Had the soul revive treatment which was lush. We got lunch at the spa which was really good as well. The cocktail bar had great atmosphere with really nice bartenders who went the extra mile. Only flaw would be that the dinner wasn't the most spectacular I've ever had. I would strongly recommend this getaway to anyone!

This is a local hotel to me. The grounds are very pretty, especially the approach to the hotel. There is a leisure centre with gym and pool which I have used in the past and found the water to be a bit cold for me but it was a long time ago. The pool was large enough to be able to swim and not just to just sit there. I ate at the restaurant once and I was not impressed but again this was a long time ago and it might be very different now. There is also a golf course attached to the hotel. The setting is lovely. I have never stayed so can not comment on the rooms. In my recent visit, I had a meeting in the coffee bar near the leisure facilities and was not impressed with the hot chocolate or the cleanliness of the surroundings there but the main lobby of the hotel was much nicer.

Took the missus here for a Spa Day For Two. Wow. What an amazing facility. I have never been so relaxed in all my life. The massage was great and the treatment room was relaxing — but what really sets the Vale apart from the other dozen or so Spas we've visited is the fact that they have clearly gone to incredible lengths to design the perfect Spa from the ground up. It is completely isolated from the rest of the hotels facilities. The restaurant and shop areas are clean and relaxing, the "Cwtch" area (Welsh for hug) is a dark and inviting room, filled with soft, comfortabl, loungers, topped with warm, soft throws to wrap yourself up in as you relax to the soft musical backdrop and let the glow of the tea lights soothe you. Then there's the reading nook, which is bright and clean. It looks out over the pool and is filled with sun loungers so you can pretend you're somewhere tropical. The final relaxation area is split into two zones — both are dark, warm and filled with soft music. One is filled with memory foam beds, topped with warm blankets. The other side holds half a dozen heated water beds — which are simply one of the best things ever! Interspersed between these areas are a number of comfortable leather sofas, with magazines to read to pass the time. Floating down a flight of stairs leads you to the hotels pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi.

The staff are so amazing here!, especially the spa reception, they can’t do enough for you. This was my second visit in the past two months and both times everything was perfect, today there was a slight mix up with the high tea as I’m vegetarian and the staff sorted it in minutes with a huge platter of vegetarian sandwiches (the cakes where amazing to) exceptional service, Would highly recommend.

We had a fab day, 3 treatments which were lovely, also a buffet lunch very nice. The staff were great, very professional, considerate & helpful. A lovely day, would highly recommend it came home very chilled.

We had a wonderful time here even though the weather was very cold. The hotel itself was very good and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast and dinners were very good and we managed to play golf twice on the Lakes and the Welsh National courses which were well maintained even though it is winter. We would love to come here again when it's a bit warmer!

Excellent venue for all occassions. Premium spa facilities and a great new gum. Very busy with a good crowd. Tried exercise HIT class which was great. Rooms are great and spacious. Always a famous face walking around. Rugby legends and football wannabes!

Excellent facilities & location. Set in lovely surroundings & staff are superb. Parking is not an issue, & food is excellent. If you are there for business or a conference, you could find a better place. But due to the level of meetings & conferences that seem to take place there. Staying as a resident might not be as relaxing as you would hope for.

I had a business meeting in that hotel with a supplier who came from Germany. We have been to the restaurant for a dinner but suddenly the staff stopped us and told us that since we have no reservation we have to wait for around 30 min. With all the honesty, I believe that the member of staff was jocking because the restaurant was almost empty. Anyhow, we were tired to go in Cardiff and we decided to wait for 30 min. We bought two beers from the bar which is next to the restaurant. No more than 3 minutes later, a member of staff told us that we can have a seat to the restaurant! I don't want to believe that this well reputed hotel stopped us from the dinning room in order to buy a few drinks first… Really this is something that I don't want to believe. At any case, this is what happened on Monday 11.12.2017 at approx. 19.20hrs…

Works Christmas party, located downstairs. Lovely food. Starters wasn't for me but we'll presented. Main and dessert where both gorgeous! Everyone had a good dance and the DJ played old school dance all night. Perfect little night.

Attended wedding reception at this resort. Very impressive and well designed resort. Quite a way off the beaten track but well worth the effort getting there. Resort has a very large car park in the grounds and well maintained gardens. Considering the number off people who attended the red reception and all the other activities simultaneously going on the resort did not look to be struggling and every help was made available when needed. All in all a very enjoyable evening in a great atmosphere. I would definitely consider returning for a weekend break in the future.

Staff not friendly especially at the hotel welcome comfortable value Average Price.

Service in the bar area and hotel reception is generally unfriendly — not good enough for a 4/5 star. They need a real culture shift as the staff give an air of superiority. The same is found a leeks which is run by the same family. The gym reception is excellent and 5 star. Facilities are excellent and the golf course and clubhouse exceptional and more friendly too.

The rooms were spacious and modern and the ensuite shower was amazing. The bed was huge and our balcony opened up on to the golf course which provided exquisite views. Staff were friendly and helpful (even when I accidentally set a croissant on fire at breakfast) would highly recommend.

Attended s wedding reception. The buffet was excellent. The carvery was a roasted hog. Bar staff and table staff were friendly and efficient. I was impressed with the cleanliness and decor. Thoroughly enjoyable evening.

A faded glory or failing to meet expectations? The hotel may be home to the Wales football team, but it's a tad tired. My room was a mix of decor and furniture, little of which matched. The double bed was two singles together, which led to a less than perfect night's sleep. Elsewhere, the gym was large and well equipped, with a superb 20m swimming pool, and the restaurant served an excellent steak and chips, so it's not all bad at all. Staff service was also top notch. Sadly, it's not enough to rescue the whole, and only its location and leisure facilities would tempt me back.

A1 Customer service/accounts dept! The charming, professional and efficient Leanne called me from their accounts department today. Essentially, I had booked the wrong package for my gf and had left her a message to call me back, in the hope of changing/cancelling it. She called and was so helpful/charming that I found myself prolonging the phone call just because to keep her chatting! Thanks again Leanne!

Lovely room with balcony overlooking the pond on the golf course. The service has been incredible, so friendly and helpful. Has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

A beautiful location which was easy to find. The decor and style of the hotel is great. Rooms clean and tidy, and food at the bar was excellent. Only complaints to give so far with another night to go. Would happily return.

Went on a work related training course and was just expecting a bog standard lunch buffet. How wrong was I? Coffee and biscuits beforehand, pastries at 10, an amazing hot buffet lunchtime then cream tea at 3pm. All of this with a fantastic view of the golf course from the conservatory. Well done Vale Resort!

I've had two great stays at The Vale and 3 great spa days. I had one substandard stay which they rectify and I believe it was unusual and have kept returning. Laura at the Spa did a fantastic aromatherapy massage and I couldn't recommend enough.

My friend bought me a spar day as a birthday present. It was a lovely day we had hour treatment of our choice which had to be booked in advance and the day you wanted to attend. We had lovely buffet lunch with juices in with price and plenty there. Other drinks you had to pay for but plenty of water machines around. Full use of all the facilities including pool jacuzzi and steam rooms. Overall we had lovely day a lovely treat for a special occasion.

Great food and great service. Would definitely recommend. Also used the spa before and that's really good. Water beds and all!

Some of the attentive and friendly staff (Louise) waiting staff. I've come across. Nothing was too much trouble. Had a superb golf break with 40 others. Will go back soon…

Attended the Vale for the George Morgan Trust Dinner and had a great evening. The event had a 3 course meal and the food was superb. Did find it very odd that the drinks in the bar downstairs were totally different to what was on offer in the bar for the Castle Suit where we had the event, this meant people were drinking different drinks at different times depending where we were which was a pain. Would definitely recommend the location for an event with food.

Room was ok. Pubic hair in the bath was a bit disappointing. Generally a premier inn would be cleaner. Decor is very nice in the bar/ restaurant area and bathroom was modern but the rest was dated. Had dinner in the bar on my first night and ordered a starter and main course. 45 minutes later the mains came out but I never got my starter. Didn't receive much in the way of an apology. Tonight hopefully will be better. Breakfast was nice with lots of choice. Swimming and spa facilities are very good.

Love this place. Great facilities spa and gym. News that gym is being upgraded is surprising because it's already great. Good food and friendly staff. Always a famous face.

Attended a professional conference at The Vale for the second time and was not disappointed. The venue is great and suited the conference ideally, catering was good and the staff were very friendly and happy to help.

The vale resort is a good place for a Christmas party. It's located a couple of minutes from the M4 — J34. The roads close by are small and dark. The Christmas dinner was OK, but not much selection. The bar was crowded with people waiting for drinks because the service was slow.

First class resort, helpful and attentive staff, a fantastic venue for business or pleasure.

Lovely location, good service and very good food.

I stayed in a Sunday evening and the hotel was still busy which goes to show how popular it is. All of the staff were kind and courteous during the stay. The food in the evening and following morning was all of the standard you would like xpect from a four star venue.

Very nice area, very posh! Played an hour on the driving range, great value for money. 100 balls for 3.50

Enjoyed the Admiral training day on the resorts where the Welsh Rugby team train. What a lovely resort.

Fantastic Resort stayed over christmas and recently for valentines, certainly worth the travel to this beautiful hotel. The staff are very friendly and the manager Gareth couldnt do enough to make sure everything went perfect as can be this really made both my experiences very enjoyable. Thank you will definatly be returning soon hopefuly mothers day :) Thank you.

My daughter booked a spa day on the Vale Resort Website on the 5th January, at the cost of £100. She had no confirmation and was told by staff that the website crashed on that day and the order didn't go through. However the £100 was taken from her account. Despite several phone calls this still hasn't been resolved. Her bank spoke to the Vale on 16th January and a member of staff assured both the bank and my daughter that the finance manager would phone her back on Monday the 19th. No-one phoned, I wasn't surprised. We spoke again to The Vale tonight, a very bored sounding receptionist who refused to give the head office number told me the manager would phone back at 5. Again no call. When we phoned back we were told she had left for the night. The customer service has been dreadful. I certainly wouldn't recommend this resort due to this awful experience and the unhelpful and rude way that my daughter has been treated.

A very enjoyable stay. Excellent staff.
