A good clean modern hotel with friendly welcoming staff. Ideally located to to city centre for any exclusions but ideally next to Cardiff Arms park and it's bigger neighbour the Principality (Millennium) Stadium. Also just round the corner to the SWALEC Stadium and Cardiff Castle!

Had to book a room very late at night (midnight on a Friday! ). Helpful staff and easy check-in. Room not huge but very modern and well maintained. The sort of standard you would expect from this chain Buffet style breakfast with full range of options available. This wasn't included in our booking but was available for £9.50. The hotel is situated right in the centre of Cardiff, a shirt walk from railway and couch stations, and overlooks the castle and grounds. All in all an enjoyable stay.

Great location 5 minutes’ walk from most of the sights of the city. Amazing and very helpful staff. Great choice if dining and entertainment options. Highly recommend! Good Wi-Fi coverage across the property. Huge rooms and always get an upgrade. Chain like Holiday inn should be flexible with customers changing plans last minute and this sort of flexibility will bring more business than other way round.

More There is parking, the truth is paid, fast Internet. And also, among the staff, there is a speaking girl, from one country of the former USSR, working at breakfast in the restaurant.

The Hotel is easy to find. It's right by Cardiff Castle. The parking is reasonable and the staff are very friendly. The room was clean and tidy. The breakfast and dinner options were varied and delicious. There was always enough seating. The hotel staff were happy to provide directions and information about local sights.

You pay for what you get. Quite a nice hotel and a generous breakfast buffet too. The staff were helpful upon arrival. However, the room was a bit dated and quite small. But me and my partner had a good time :)

Located right in the middle of the city. Decent amenities and friendly staff. Easy to reach many touristic destinations from the hotel. Parking available at the premises. Decent buffet spread for breakfast. Freshly pressed orange juice was a highlight though. One thing that could be improved was the facility to pay at the hotel instead of pre charging customers credit card. A chain like Holiday inn should be flexible with customers changing plans last minute and this sort of flexibility will bring more business than other way round.

One of my favourite hotels in one of my favourite cities. Located just a short walk from shops and entertainment. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful as were all the staff we came in contact with. We had a high room at the rear of the hotel, it was clean and tidy but lacked drawer space. Car parking is expensive but very secure. We will always stay at this hotel when in Cardiff.

Great location 5 minutes walk from most of the sights of the city. On site parking £12 for 24hrs at the time of writing. Clean and tidy interior to the usual Holiday Inn standards. Perhaps getting a bit tired generally now. Staff pleasant and professional. I found the food menu and range of drinks available at the bar limited.

A good sized hotel with all the amenities you would expect from a Holiday Inn. The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The decor in the rooms is little tired but I understand it's due for an upgrade in the near future and doesn't detract from a comfortable stay. It is ideally situated in the town centre only a short walk away to the main shopping precinct.

Good property. Friendly staff and good service. The hotel has many conference rooms for business visitors. The restaurant in the ground floor offers a good breakfast spread. Hotel overlooks the castle and has ample parking space. Rooms are comfy. Overall very good experience.

Went here for a works Christmas do, good food and service as well as great entertainment. Our only complaint was that as soon as it finished it was a case of "you've had your money's worth now get out". Whilst I understand why they don't want non residents hanging around, it was snowing outside and after spending £60 a head to not be allowed to use the toilet even was a bit harsh.

It was an ok stay. Nothing really bad, nothing really good. The room was quite small but the bed was comfy. Great location, 5 minutes walk to shops and restaurants.

Only had a drink whilst waiting for colleagues. Bar was pleasant. Colleague did say they were provided a room with a single bed! You have to stipulate you want a double when booking, saying a standard room us not sufficient.

Lovely hotel near the town. Clean nice rooms with everything you need. Staff very friendly and helpful. Close to the castle. Has a car park which is charged for. Clean and well decorated.

Great location. 10 minute walk to the centre and directly oposite a lovely park. 2 year old loved it for exploring and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Went for a wedding brilliant staff lovely rooms slept well and rounded off with a fabulous breakfast thankyou xx.

Food for conference not as good as I would have expected. Gluten free option very uninspiring.

The location is ideal for visiting central Cardiff being easily accessible by car or train. Our room wasn't huge the bathroom being on the small side but adequate for a couple of days. The 6th floor room was situated away from the main road and so was very quiet with views over the river, the Arms Park and a bowling green. Didn't use the restaurant but the bar was very pleasant with a friendly and helpful barman. Parking was £12 for 24 hours.

A very good place for up to 5days of just visiting Cardiff city. The weather around September was cold but comfortable for us. The hotel was clean and easy access to the city center. Shopping is great fun and good bargain at the PrinMark, good food especial the good steak we had. You can also have lots of fresh fruits, people are welcoming and nice. Great place to live.

Great family room, right in the centre.

It's a decent hotel in a great location in central Cardiff. If you're visiting to see the castle or go to the millennium stadium then this hotel should be high on the list. It's not the most modern and it isn't the last word in luxury, but as a solid choice as a base for a few nights you can't go wrong.

Kind kind staff, clean and an excellent location.

Staff were friendly and helpful, I do found the bed quite hard and a lack of power sockets around the room. Also despite having paid over £100 for a room for the night we still had to pay £12 for parking.

Great location and very nice breakfast, but fairly expensive for what it is.

Two stars seems a bit harsh given the location is good and staff nice bit it gets that because my room had an green emergency light constantly on which reception couldn't turn off. We covered it with a bit of card but but that fell which required another trip to reception at 3 am. Basically I'd have got a better nights kip in the car. But thats unlikely to happen to you I suppose. Oh and charging you extra for full speed, read usable, internet is a bit much.

Attended a social event held in the function room upstairs. Nice room and nice views. A bit too warm and the windows didn't open an awful lot. A nice set up though and reasonable prices for drinks.

We had a large comfortable room with large double bed. Plenty storage space, good though small bathroom. Room had large windows looking out onto stadium and river Taff. Good location opposite Bute Park. Helpful reception staff and excellent breakfast buffet. Enjoyed the stay very much.

No shower gels but got them instantly. When asked in reception. Overall, very good.

The room was comfortable, the shower was brilliant and the breakfast was good too. Just don't try the pastries and you'll have a lovely visit.

Dissapointed to pay £95 for a nights stay, the hotels slogan "now you can relax" chance would be a fine thing, hotel was holding a function, loud music blaring through the room, Bit expensive to sleep in a nightclub.

Good location, great space and facilities in tbe room for the money, would definately recommend.

Very nice hotel in a convenient location for Cardiff. The staff are welcoming and friendly, decor is very good in both public areas and guest rooms. Breakfast is excellent with good quality ingredients and a good selection. The reason for not giving 4 stars? Free Internet was awfully slow compared to free internet at other HI, Inc Expressses. I'd also like to see Holiday Inn generally offer a bit more, especially in guest room amenities — e. G. A Bluetooth or wired speaker for phones/Ipods would be nice, Blu ray/DVD player attached to TV's, fridges in all rooms. Things that will make a business stay that little bit more comfortable.

Comfortable, friendly and well located. Colleagues complained about noise from the road but I didn't notice it. Right next to the stadium and the river. Nice breakfast.

Location is great, service with a smile and glad to help. Room felt clean and fresh. Bathroom was dated and in need of refurbishment. In total though our stay was fine.

Family room (426) was nice and big, bathroom was small and dated but uber-powerful shower. Requested cot (also confirmed by phone the day before) was missing and no sheet for sofa bed (wasn't made ready either) so went to reception, didn't apologise once but resolved that day while we were out. Found a t-shirt left behind curtains that house keeping had missed, house keeping also missed our dirty cups after 1st night and didn't restock milk etc. Room was barmy-hot even though radiator wasnt on, like 26 degrees in mid-December, air-conditioning was ineffectual and sounded like a tractor. Family couldn't sleep 1st night due to heat and noise (air conditioning and nearby club/party downstairs), reported it to reception who again never apologised once but got it fixed that day and 2nd night was much better. Got no recognition for Spire Elite loyalty level (top tier) and got no freebies. Getting to/from hotel from car park was a bit of a pain with baggage and kids, car park not amazing but found space both nights, pricey at £10/24hours.

Typical Holiday Inn experience, we were happy. Price was extortionate though but it was a rugby weekend.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Clean and comfortable rooms. They were very helpful when I asked to extend my stay because I fell in love with South Wales.

Very pleased with the stay here. Good location. Friendly staffs. Would definately recomnend every one.
