Lively atmosphere and excellent food. We were waiting for the night ferry boarding and fortunately we were not rushed at all. Able to linger over a second round of drinks and use the Wi-Fi. Would definitely recommend.

Treat yourself as we did with local produce accompanied by gorgeous sauces, topped off by a wonderful, local of course, range of drinks from the bar. Welcomed by lovely staff.

Best haddock and chips I've ever had in my life. Highly recommend!

Pleasant staff but prices are a touch high to begin with and accompaniments (potatoes, chips) are extra, making the overall price for a meal expensive. Steak was excellent, as were the hand cut chips, but the only veggie main lacked any flavour and I wouldn't have it again. Overall, we left a touch disappointed.

Friendly, but quite busy staff. The menu for the beer garden is not the same as for the restaurant. I had fish and chips which were quite good. Good place to sit outside and have a drink.

Traditional pub across from the Stromness Ferry Terminal on Orkney Mainland. Quite crowded when we visited but the staff seemed to handle it well. Next time we’ll try the food and inquire regarding the accommodations.

Stayed here for work, room was an acceptable standard but the restaurant was very very good. Staff were really friendly and helpful getting me a taxi to the place I was working.

Went for tea last night with some friends. Couldn't fault it, staff were friendly, helpful & courtious, food tasted as good as it looked — recommend the chicken breast — super meal … I'll definitely be back.

Fitted us in even though busy with tourists. Decent lunch/snack food. Staff attentative and friendly, as always. Recommend for lunch or dinner (have eaten here a few times before). Central locationclose to town centre, harbour, travel centre.

My daughter and I were here yesterday for lunch. I highly recommend their grilled fish meal. My daughter can recommend the Orkney ice cream she said it was delicious. The staff are friendly, highly efficient and speed of service second to none. Keep up the good work. I would definitely come back again. Thank you. 01/07/018

Friendly atmosphere, standard (good! ) Pub grub menu. I tried the chrachan for pudding which I felt was a little pricey at £7.50, but I suppose it does have whisky in it!

Very quiet and clean. Good food at the pub and restaurant. Located close to Ferry and bus stops. And we did our laundry.

Good food, very friendly staff. Restaurant was fully booked, so reservation is recommended. We got a place in the bar which was nice as well. The outside may not look so inviting, but inside is a nice bar and restaurant.

Just stopped by to eat a dessert. Very nice place, quite busy in the lunch time. We went here because our guide suggested it. This is the only place where I found the Cranachan, one of the traditional Scottish desserts. There's a little car park nearby.

We stayed here for a few days. Great location in Stromness. Staff is very friendly. As we arrived late (bad weather, a ferry cancellation) they called us and asked to prepare food even if it will be late! As we arrived, a table was reserved. Our room was modern and spacious. The shower was very hot! And even Wi-Fi was fast (not so common here in Scotland). Overall the Ferry Inn is a great place to stay with good food, good rooms and friendly people.

The Ferry Inn is great! Me and my dive buddies used it as our post-dive venue whilst spending a week in Scapa Flow. There's an excellent choice of beer, whisky, gin and many more. The staff were friendly and the Wi-Fi works like a charm. The food's pretty good too. My only comment would be that it is not the cheapest, but you do get what you pay for, and we were happy to sit out of the weather, catch up online and enjoy a well-earned pint.

Fab staff working really hard during the Orkney Blues festival. One of the lads was suffering with a sore throat and the manager (? ) provided him with hot water and honey without prompting. Such a generous gesture. They serve fab beer and wine. Whilst we didn't eat here the food looked fabulous. Would recommend the Ferry Inn and the Orkney Blues festival. Some great talent amongst a very friendly and welcoming population.

The wife & I popped in for a quick bite to eat while doing a bit of site seeing. The staff were friendly & attentive and the food was lovely. And I don't know what house red they were serving but it went down a treat with the seafood. Would go there again!

Went for the burger, great choice, one of the biggest and tastiest burgers I've had in long time. Also the bar staff were friendly and welcoming, great place.

Not a big fan of fish, have to say the "seafood chowder" is the best seafood dish I ever had! highly recommend.

Went to the ferry inn on Monday. They wouldn't allow us to see the bar menu (although it stated to ask for it) because there might have been buses in so they said and I quote ' wanted to keep it simpler for the kitchen'! Any where else still have buses in and there regular menus in the go. We ordered 4x fish and chips and 2 steak pies. Within 3-4 minutes was ready. The steak pie was a casserole and the fish was soggy and we had about 8chips on the plate. The food was not cooked to order, it was in a Bain Marie, we were in and out within 15-20minutes. The lattes were not hot either, they were luke warm. One of the party I went with wrote a review clearly not to the ferry inns liking as they have deleted it.

Very disappointing meal! Booked a table, turned up and didn't like the choices on the menu we were presented with. Asked for the bar menu and were told we couldn't get the bar menu (even though it stated on the menu bar meals were available) as they were waiting on a bus tour! Ordered anyway and our food arrived in minutes, definitely not freshly cooked! As a hotel, offering meals you should be willing to cater to tourists and locals alike. I for one will not be rushing back.

Food was good but it took 40 minutes to get served and a further 45 for our food to arrive.

Ok food. Really really bad service. If you're getting half of the things you order consider yourself lucky.

Good fun family dinner but don't expect fine dining. Seafood was simple and well done, service fine but desserts weren't great. Cranachan too dry with a large dusting of choking oatmeal on. Sticky toffee pudding far too sweet. Still fun evening with the family though.

Friendly pub with great selection of beers and whisky. Excellent meals too from a la carte to the humble fish and chips. Quite often outbreaks of spontaneous live music!

The classic hospitality of a seaside town scottish! Rooms and spaces may be very basic, narrow corridors! Excellent restaurant / pub with great beer and seafood in the scottish!

The food was ok, but not great. We were on a bus tour and this was the recommended lunch spot. They cope with large groups very efficiently, but there's nothing special about the food.

Lovely hotel very convenient to the ferry. Great food for dinner and breakfast. Friendly waitstaff would stay here again.

Nice location with very friendly staff. Owner prepared us a delicious dinner by himself when we arrived after closure of the kitchen. Would absolutely recommend this place!

Clean comfortable rooms. Very nice and the price point. The staff have been incredibly hospitable and friendly going out of their way to serve out of hours food and drinks. Recommended.
