Had a lovely lunch here today, great hearty portions and tasty meals but above all, excellent service from the waiting staff.

We held our wedding last weekend in the gardens of the hotel followed on by a meal in the Riverside Suite which looked amazing with the new lighting features. We can’t thank Andrew and his team enough for the exceptional attentive service provided both on the day to my family and guests and in the run up to the wedding and also for all the set up that they carried out on the day. Wedding planning during a pandemic is even harder than during “normal” times but nothing was too much trouble. The carvery as usual was amazing and this was seconded by all our guests. I totally recommend the Norseman as a wedding venue, and thank you all once again.

Had an lovely afternoon tea here today. It was fantastic and ended up taking boxes of cakes and sausage rolls home as there was so much. The staff were great especially Carol who couldn't do enough for us. It was delicious and great value for money.

Another absolutely delicious takeaway! Steak kebabs were amazing and the scampi was a huge portion. Bakewell tart, after eight cheese cake and sticky toffee pudding were out of this world. 😋 Fantastic service too. 😊

We had a takeaway tonight — The food was amazing! Same portions and quality as sitting in previously, so great value. Sharon organised our order over the phone and Andrew delivered it straight to the car window on collection. Great service, will be back again.

Had a lockdown takeaway tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cheeseburger and steak kebabs were the best we've had. Great service as always from Andrew and Co.

Had an amazing night on Saturday for my birthday. Even with the government restrictions we were able to have a group dinner booking, all socially distanced. All of the staff were so kind, very attentive and couldn’t of done enough for us all. Food was fantastic as always. Top marks, thank you.

Was there for afternoon tea this afternoon. Food was lovely also staff very friendly and helpful. Was lovely and cosy in the lounge with fire on.

Afternoon tea was amazing, nice cosy atmosphere in the lounge beside the fire, very attentive staff and the most beautiful baking, will definitely be going again.

We went to the Norseman Hotel in September while up there on holiday.
The Sunday Carvery was the best Id had.
meal was perfect the choices were so many from starters, carvery and pudding the choice of puddings were so many.
Staff were lovely and polite and couldnt help enough.

What can I say that's adequate words for what I've just experienced at the carvery. Real Gluten Free desserts. Gluten free dessert is usually disappointing but your range has to be the best I have seen. The sticky toffee pudding was fabulous!

Cannot thank Andrew and his staff enough for hosting our wedding, they couldn't do enough for us. Would recommend a thousand percent.

Friendly reception staff and waiting staff. Everyone bright and cheery. Room comfortable though not too spacious, en-suite so convenient. Dog friendly. Good food and all reasonably priced. Have stayed a number of times and would recommend it.

Stayed last night for one evening, room was lovely and clean and breakfast tasty. Special mention to the lovely lady on reception both last night and this morning — so friendly and helpful x.

Rooms were badly in need of an update with respect to the beds. Instructions as to how to use the shower would also have been helpful for an overseas traveller. This was experienced in October 2017

Excellent place for Sunday lunch. Booking advised. 3 courses and heaps of very nice food. Good freindly service to cap it off.

Had the most amazing day on Sat at my daughter's wedding. From start to finish. Staff great. Food, service superb and a great big thank you to all involved. Highly recommended for a stay.

Central location. Rooms clean & tidy, tea coffee making facilities. Evening bar meals are substantial & tasty. Good plentiful selection of breakfast. Noise at night from local boy racers!

Nice hotel with a nice pub and restaurant. They have a comfortable sitting area for reading or just talking. The area around the area is quiet. Perfect for an evening walk.

I had a lovely meal at the carvery last night. Very prompt service which was maintained throughout the evening. Staff were very friendly and the food was delicious! Lots of choices on offer and a great selection of gluten free.
My only one thing I would request, would be for the foods with nuts to be labelled. As an allergy sufferer, I did unfortunately eat a desert with nuts in it. Apart from this, a grand evening all round.

This is about the 4th or 5th time I’ve stayed here, tonight as I walked through the main entrance I was greeted by “Good Evening Mr White, how are you today? “
The rooms are bright, Cheerie & comfortable, the food is delicious & the staff always very pleasant and nothing is an imposition to them especially at breakfast, I walk in to the restaurant and I’m asked what I would like, I’m shown to a table & my breakfast is brought to me, Oh, I should mention, I have a severe sight impairment, the room rate is valued for bed & breakfast & the evening meals are keenly priced and this is why the Norsman is my preferred accommodation when I’m working in Wick & Thurso!

Best carvery we've ever been to, so much choice for main course and desserts. Nothing like it down south where we're from, we go here every time we come up to visit family!

Glad I even managed to stay somewhere for the night before travelling to my aunts, but this place is a shambles. The decor?!?!?! Did anyone actually think about how it was going to look or did they just slap on any colour they saw? The outside? It looks like muddy water is dripping from the walls! Such a shame as the staff are lovely. Also, for the record, orange and blue DONT go.

Stopped for food as it was one of the only places open later. Food was as expected and location was good and next to good parking.

The stay was fine and the receptionists were very polite. The food at their restaurant was very good, the price was lower than expected, the portion sizes were larger than expected! I am only being a little picky about the decor being dated. Personal opinion, the decor is letting it down.

Staying for 11 nights… 4th night so far all good… top floor rooms red hot with heating off only downfall need to sleep with window open… breakfast great choice buffet style and staff friendly enough … nice and clean and housekeeper in everyday… would defo stay again…

Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. We had a large party and the room we were in was great with a lounging room next to it. Only issue was service was a bit slow.

Staff were great really friendly and helpful. Food was good and served quickly. Room was dated but clean. The matress was old and uncomfortable and the room was too hot. Shower only gave a trickle of water gave up and had a bath.

Was taken on a tour at this hotel today and had a great time. We were greeted by jocky he showed us the rooms dining room bar kitchen. The rooms are lovely new carpets and the food was delicious. Then we went out to the secret garden and was told a bit about the history of the hotel. The he took us in for a nice cup of coffee and a sandwich. Must say I'd recommend this tidy hotel to everyone. The staff are friendly to.

Food good. Service questionable. Too many teenagers working and no coordination. Two bus parties in as well trying to get fed.

Clean hotel and friendly service but a few simple things let it down. The shower was one of the best I've had in any hotel at any budget, only the flimsy shower curtain was a bit annoying. The bed was large and comfortable. The room had everything you'd need. A squeaky creaky corridor door kept me awake too long, for the want of a spray of WD40. During our dinner for a large-ish party they forgot 3 starters and then 1 persons main course, a drinks order never appeared and my final drink arrived without ice. Breakfast was good. I/we were perhaps just unlucky to catch them on a busy night for which they were unprepared and despite these niggles I'd be happy to return due to the great location.

Slick operation, very well managed from top to bottom. Nothing is left to chance and the small welcoming touch's are a joy. Extremely efficient staff and the food is lovely. Hard to pick a fault here except it's a shame they can't arrange the weather 10/10.

There was a good selection of food on the menu from steak to fish and interesting vegetarian options. The prices were very reasonable, especially for a town with limited options for eating. The decor is a bit dated. I would say that it looks like it hadn't been updated since the early 90s, but it is clean and well laid out. Service was friendly, pleasant and efficient. Certainly I would visit again if I were unlucky enough to get sent to Wick.

The staff was very kind, friendly, and helpful. The Scottish breakfast was pretty standard, I think, but good. The room was clean and comfortable, and they loaned us a couple of converters when ours didn't seem to work. Upon checking out very early without staff on hand, a worker from another department's staff helped us and offered to get us breakfast, coffee and juice. Location was good, too. Very nice experience.

Staff are nice and friendly and the communal areas are nice enough but the rooms are a touch dated. Not exactly 5* but OK for an overnight stay.

Had Sunday carvery probably the best have had anywhere. Quality soup to start excellent meat and veg cooked to perfection. And the choice of deserts like all inclusive at a top hotel. All in a great feed.

Ok, maybe the rooms are not that posh to be rated more than 2 stars, but the staff makes up for it. This should be a 4 star hotel. I was there this summer with a tour group and I enjoyed this hotel the most on my trip. Although there is not a huge staff everyone was very friendly and they were the only hotel staff that stopped what they were doing to wave a good bye as we pulled away in our coach to our next destination. If I every make it back to Scotland again, this hotel is on my must visit again list.
