Fantastic B&B located 10 minutes drive from John o' Groats. Hosts Ann and Mario are friendly and make sure that guests are really happy with their stay. I was travelling solo on a motorcycle tour and stayed here for one night in a single room. The room was quite compact but absolutely perfect for my needs. It was spotlessly clean as was the adjoining en-suite bathroom. You can see the attention to detail they put in — men and women's shower gel in the bathroom, electrical adapter with every combination of outlets under the sun to cater for visitors from abroad, the jar of sweets in the bedroom. All nice touches. The bed was extremely comfy (memory foam topper), and I had a great nights sleep. The Scottish breakfast was well cooked and the order for it can be customised the night before, so you just get the items you want and not the ones you don't like! I would happily stay here again, it's a lovely B&B run by really nice people and represents fantastic value.

Ann and Marco are a lovely couple who made us feel so welcolm. The room was perfectly clean and cosy the beds were so comfortable. I just wish we had time to experience breakfast with them but had to leave for Orkney to work too early. When we were told we were staying there on the return journey we were well pleased and if I'm back up there on holiday that's where I'll be staying no doubt about it. My wife and I have stayed in a number of B&B's in Scotland and elsewhere, and Alba Sunrise is really something special. Ann and Marco have that rare ability to make you feel as if you are not just a paying customer… but a welcomed guest in their home… a member of their extended family, you are appreciated when you stay there, and missed when you leave. We will definitely return to Caithness, thanks in no small part to the hospitality we received while staying with them. That's the squishy stuff. The practical stuff is… the rooms are immaculately cleaned, serviced daily, and wonderfully apportioned with tea and coffee service, refreshed each day. The mattresses are memory foam and super comfortable, the bedding is pristine, and we never heard even a bit of noise from the neighboring rooms. The shower was hot and high pressure and a luxurious end to a day of walks along the north coast. And the breakfast? You get eggs from Ann and Marco's hens, who they positively spoil by feeding them as well as they feed their guests. That's really all you need to know. Ann and Marco are fantastic. Alba Sunrise is fantastic. Theirs is the first business I've ever felt motivated to write a facebook review for. Go here. You won't regret it.
