Lovely afternoon tea! Great value for money and great service.

Just had a 1 night stay here and 10/10 staff all friendly and a lovely hotel.

No disabled parking, poor wheels chair access and no disabled changing facilities. Had to change my son in the car outside as the staff couldn’t provide a changing area.

Beautiful hotel. Couldn’t fault it, friendly staff, Room was immaculate and beautifully decorated. Great food & cocktails. Would definitely return.

Stayed here yesterday, cold hotel, room not very nice, staff not efficient, reception staff not very pleasant not asked once if everything was okay, how was our stay in fact no conversation. On a plus side food was good, but not a reason to return.

Booked in for an evening meal, beautiful restaurant, friendly staff but the food it’s self was amazing! Delicious generous portions! Could not fault the meal at all. Good selection of wines too. Definitely will be back.

We stayed in the deluxe family room with our little boy for 2 nights as part of my hubby’s 30th. Hotel and surrounding areas are beautiful, all staff were very friendly, room was immaculate and meals were tasty! We had a situation where our little boy managed to get himself stuck in the toilet within the room 30 minutes before check out and while we were in full scale panic mode all staff were outstanding and kept us calm. We can’t thank you enough for everything you done for us! Highly recommend xx.

Just back from an overnight stay at Hetland Hall Hotel, first time but definitely not our last. Beautiful hotel, cozy room, food was delicious and the staff were very kind and helpful x.

Been here many times since the first visit way back in 1987. Love the place and amazing what they have done to the place over the years.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the hotel & rooms are gorgeous, very clean & beds very comfy. Staff were so helpful & friendly, nothing was a problem. Food was delicious with excellent portion size. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

Just left from staying at Hentland Hall for one night in the Eden suite, the hotel is absolutely gorgeous and stylish, has a great cosy and warming feeling to it which gives it a great advantage to other hotels for a weekend away. The staff were absolutely fantastic couldn’t do any more for you amazing customer service. The food was delicious and fast and prompt service. This is the place to go, great service, great food and not to forget the cosy log burner. Best place I have been ever! Will be returning ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Enjoyed an overnight stay with my wife. Our room was a good size, the bed was very comfortable with soft pillows. Excellent rain shower in the bathroom. Dinner and breakfast were both very good and the staff are very friendly.

Been up tonight with my partner for a final wedding meeting. An also booked us a meal for her birthday. Top quality food great customer service. The staff are always friendly an talkative.

Fantastic overnight stay at Hetland Hall. Our room 201 was amazing. Staff are fantastic but Cheryl who served us breakfast was so nice and so helpful.

First time staying here, lovely feel to the place, very comfortable with a bit of luxury, room smaller than some but everything you need and the most comfortable room we have ever stayed in, couldn't fault meals, dinner was lovely and service fab. Breakfast the same, lovely hot tea and quick service. Lounge area lovely with a real fire, we will definitely be back x.

Just back from a dinner bed and breakfast stay in the penthouse suite. No complaints, room was huge and beautifully decorated. Dinner and breakfast was lovely. Staff were great. Would definitely stay here again.

This is about the15th time we have stayed here never found fault. The dinning room is great with a good menu staff are A1. Well worth staying at.

Where do I start… My husband and I went to Hetland for an afternoon tea for our 1st Anniversary as we got married there! The afternoon tea was fabulous great range of sandwiches and the cakes were amazing! The chocolate brownie was fab. We went outside to enjoy cocktails in the sunshine. If you haven't already, you've got to give the cocktails a go. The lemon drop was lovely along with the drumstick, solero and the pornstar martini. Everyone we seen was lovely and very friendly. We even make it on their Instagram. It's been a great day to spend our anniversary! Hetland will always to our favourite place. Recommended from weddings, meals, the lot. Keep up the good work team Hetland your doing fabulous.

Stunning hotel. The room we had was huge and was really tastefully decorated. The shower alone was worth the trip! It was a massive walk in wet room. Apart from that the staff were really friendly and the food was beautiful. We’ll definitely be back!

Hi I won tickets for the rubix cube tribute which was last weekend. What a fab night & food was lovely. We stayed the night aswell rooms are lovely the whole place has been done up its amazing. I have stayed before it was not done up then. So now wow wow wow! Staff are very good. Will look forward to staying again hopefully with some deals that you do. Many thanks well done xx.

Hetland Hotel is amazing. It's a manor house that's been converted to a hotel and has recently undergone major renovations. The construction was still ongoing when we stayed, but they've done everything possible to make the construction not be obtrusive. The rooms are large and are very modern. We have an 8 and an 11 year-old with us and they setup an additional bed giving us 3 beds. The bathroom is equally large and modern and has all the amenities you'd expect. The staff was very friendly and worked hard to meet the needs of our unusually large group. When I return to Scotland this is definitely somewhere I'd stay again.

We stayed here for a birthday/ anniversary treat from our daughter. Found this hotel to be all it said on the website. Though we were a bit concerned the service we would recieve would have been rushed and substandard due to a wedding happening on the same day/ night. But not at all no compromise was made on comfort or staff attention. Would highly recommend this beautiful hotel. Thanks to all the staff xxx.

Stunningly expensive bar prices. The one non-alcoholic beer was in the cellar and despite being asked for it was never brought up. Those drinking beer had to ask for fresh pints as the glasses were smelling of the washing liquid still. Only place I've been to where the bar was empty at the end of the night. Hotel is lovely. Lots of work done to it. But you will make more profit by putting your bar prices to a more sensible level and sorting out you bar arrangements.

Stopped on way back from Carlisle and had restaurant meal in the copper beech — lovely surroundings lovely food lovely staff highly recommend a visit.

We couldn’t of asked for a better wedding venue and the staff literally couldn’t of done anything more for us. Natasha is a complete star and our day would not of ran so smoothly without her. Even when we needed her help to us get dressed, she ran to mine and my bridesmaids rescue. The hotel has had a complete transformation since we booked in August 2016 but everything was perfect and everything we had originally agreed to was kept the same by the new owners. We were given a voucher overnight break at this hotel as a birthday gift. It included evening meal and breakfast. First impressions were very good and most of the renovation work mentioned in other reviews has been completed. We loved the fully refurbished bedroom with huge TV. Menu choice and meals were excellent and they catered well for my fussy vegetarian wife. Impressed with the staff too. Thanks for a lovely time and hope to return.

Lovely clean rooms, comfortable bed and good food. Beautiful surroundings. Staff went out of their way to find my husbands lost keys, very grateful for their help. Will definitely be back.

We had a great overnight here for my mum’s birthday and it was fantastic. We got 2 rooms which we upgraded and had dinner and breakfast. Rooms were beautiful and massive, food was lovely, grounds were stunning and staff could not be more helpful. Was a great stay for a great price and would highly recommend!

Stayed here on 11 June. The staff were professional friendly and couldn't do enough to help. We stayed in room 111 which has been refurbished and was lovely. The room was immaculate. We had lunch dinner and breakfast in the hotel. The food was excellent, beautifully presented. Lunch prices very good as were the price of drinks. Would we stay again? Yes have already rebooked. Would we recommend it? Yes.

Had an afternoon tea today 17-0318, first impressions were not good, hardly got a smile from the woman who served us today, we asked if we could sit at a table that was set apart from the others but were told no, no explanation just no. We were sat extremely close to other customers and their was no privacy as we could hear quite clearly each other’s conversations. We were served our tea and had half an hour before we got our food, we said to the woman serving that we would need one of the sandwiches to be vegetarian and she look at us puzzled so we said no meat or eggs, she said ok and we were served egg and some sort of cheese mix sandwiches for the vegetarian so she had two out of the four sandwiches the sanwiches turned out to be inedible as the outside of the bread was hard as though they had been sitting out for a while, the scones were very good. We were not offered a top up of tea which we had about finished while we waited half an hour for our food. This was a first visit to this hotel and we were looking forward to it but not a friendly welcome or very nice atmosphere or food so probably won’t be back which is a shame as a bit of customer care would have helped. We didn’t complain at the time as said previously we were all sat very close together and didn’t want others hearing us.

Stayed for 2 nights. Lovely building, lots of renovation going on, will be very stylish when complete. Our room was cosy with new furnishings and decor. Food was good and nicely presented. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall a good place to stay.

We had a wonderful time during our stay in February 2018. The work being carried out at the hotel will be fantastic once it has been finished. The reception we received on arrival was so friendly and we sneaked a look at the function room. The gallery window at the end is such a wonderful feature. I would certainly recommend it for weddings. I liked the intimate feel of it. The evening staff in the restaurant were totally wonderful and the food and menu choice was great. We even really liked the house white! The new rooms were great and in the absence of a lounge, as it is presently the restaurant, we took advantage of the games available on the television in our room! I look forward to visiting again once it’s all complete. The whole ambience of the hotel was friendly and personal and the views were incredible over the Solway. The driveway up I’m sure is stunning in summer and the glass veranda gives it a modern feel without spoiling the quaintness of the old building. It is a little gem that I’m so pleased to have visited. A beautiful venue whether stopping over for a romantic break, a cosy yet enjoyable evening meal or planning your wedding day. Highly recommended.

This hotel is in a lovely location between Gretna and Dumfries and is currently undergoing refurbishment. It could be fabulous once completed. Our room had already been refurbished and was well equipped with a very comfortable bed. The food was really nice and excellent value for money — you cannot go wrong eating in the restaurant. Best of all were THE STAFF, all of whom were extremely helpful, friendly and a credit to the hospitality industry. Would we stay again? Definitely.

Visited the hotel for a wedding 2 weeks ago, staff friendly, food lovely, room was fab. Would definitely recommend the wedding was fabulous 5 from me! Xxxx.

I arrived in the evening around 9:37-ish and I tried taking a picture of how lovely the light illuminated the place in the night time but sadly my camera isn't such a great model so swopped to the phone to try and take a few pics before heading inside to check-in. Once through the doors, I was met with lovely reception staff who gave us the details we needed including our room key before telling us where we could find it. It was then that I was distracted by the amazing interior furniture… 19th century I would assume and it had that Old World Elegance and Charm about the place as we headed up the stairs to our room. The place is undergoing refurbishment but this didn't detract from the lovely room we had or the beautiful scenic views over the private grounds. Kind of surprised to see a proper well on the one side of the grounds and there are even swings and playground area for people who have kids. But since we arrived so late we didn't see much as it was pitch dark outside, yet as the rain cleared up you could see the stars so clearly it was amazing. Plus the next day we were simply awed by the sheer beauty of the views we had from the room. It simply amazed us to see this soft mist envelop the mountain we could see in the distance and the light and clouds slowly parted over time as the sun started to shine down above us.

Looking fantastic with the refurb. Can't wait to see it once it's all finished.

Went to this hotel on Sat 24th September 2017 for which we thought a lovely night away. Drove over 2 hrs to to get there and it was filthy. Bed Base broken no sheets at all on the bed, carpet filthy and mold round the shower tray. No wonder they ask for money upfront. They took us to another room which was the same and onto a third one the same again. They wanted to give us a free drink in the bar before we went to our room. Told the manager I wanted a full refund and got one. Would not rate this hotel at all. It is getting refurbished at the moment so they should have closed part of it. It looks as though they opened the windows and all the rubbish is all over the grounds. Do not go there.

It's such a shame — but the lovely staff are seriously let down by the general condition of the hotel bedrooms. The Rad Group are taking the p* (and guests' money) by continuing to let out rooms that are (putting it politely) substandard. By all means continue to operate the restaurant and wedding facilities (the new wedding suite is gorgeous) — but stop treating guests with such contempt that you believe all they are worth is a small, dingy, dirty, worn room with a bathroom whose bath and sink both blocked within minutes of running a shower — and whose shower head and surroundings were actually dirty. Bear in mind that the photos of bedrooms contained on the hotel's website do NOT represent what you will be allocated. Such a disappointment. And one which means I will actively avoid the Rad Group in future.

It should be noted that the hotel is in the process of being refurbished at the time of wroting, so the general decor could (and I'm sure will) be better. The service was a bit slow, but this may be partly down to there having been a wedding on. The food was good however. I can recommend the steak burger with melted cheese.

The staff, the service and the food were first class, absolutely excellent. Unfortunately for us the hotel was undergoing renovations when we were there, which were needed. The decor, interior and exterior, were a little tired and the grounds, in places, were frankly, a building site. Fortunately that didn't interfere with our break, our room was clean, comfortable and cozy. There were various walks and a garden centre locally to entertain us and we had a very pleasant time indeed. I think as soon as the hotel refurbishment has been finished that it will be an excellent holiday spot. On the staff and the food alone we'd certainly recommend it.

While the rooms were a strange mix of classic/modern the whole experience and stay at the Hetland Hall Hotel was fantastic. Great service and atmosphere with some interesting decor and great food to make an overall fantastic package.

We had our weddings here and the service they supplied was amazing. The food was great, the staff went above and beyond. The bridal sweet was perfect. But there are some bad points. One of the rooms I was in smelled like a broken sewer. They also ran out of drink.

One of the most impressive places I have stayed. I took my partner there for her 21st Birthday. Beautiful place, amazing decor and friendly staff. 100% stay here.

Staff all very friendly and helpful on arrival. Hotel clean but the room we had in the attic was very much in need of upgrading — bed uncomfortable and the en-suite was the worst I have seen. Food was very nice but on our 2nd night we had our main course served 1.5 hours after having order taken. 2nd morning breakfast also took almost 1 hour to serve and when it arrived they had ran out of some stuff. What we did have though was very good. We had booked and was advised that bottle of wine would be included on our first night but this did not happen although when we discussed this we were then given this on the second. No staff at bar so had to go to reception to ask for service which was not great. Also they called this the cocktail bar but when asked I was told that they do not serve cocktails although the did offer to mix up some stuff! In general though we enjoyed our time there and as it is pet friendly we would seriously consider returning at a later date — athough we would ask not be to given a room in the attic.

We had our wedding at hetland hall the overall exprience was good the bridal suite left a lot to be desired the bed creaked, toilet seat was loose they didnt make any fuss of the bride at all overall disapointed with that.
