Standards have slipped a lot recently, not value for money although after complaining the staff did pull out all the stops although inspections should be done before guests arrive.

The marina is a lovely place to relax and the boat house is beautifully laid out for a great time food and drink.

We had a lovely relaxing spa day. Perfect for couples or groups. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Martin in the claret jug was particularly friendly and attentive but not at all intrusive and took care of us.

Welcoming service and good entertainment in the bar/restaurant areas, lots to see and do, boaty folk will enjoy the well stocked and knowledgeable chandlery.

Great little golf course and facilities.

Very expensive for what it is. Spent 7 nights here for honeymoon and was very disappointed, ruined our special occasion. Spoke with the manager who ensured it would improve but that never really materialised. A lot more expensive version of a Travel lodge. Room not always made up and sometimes only half done. Expect to pay for everything including the SPA which is massively advertised on the website as part of the hotel. On the plus side lovely surroundings but that is not difficult in Scotland as most places are nice.

Great hotel with a perfect setting. The rooms are very nice and with great views over Loch Lomond. The indoor pools here are huge, and there is an outdoor hot tub overlooking the Loch. Definitely a unique hotel that is worth a night stay!

We stayed in one of their timeshare lodges which has many amenties inside the lodge. Fuel charges atvtge end of your stay, expensive. Hotel affected by a fire and will not be refurbished till 2019. Views over Loch Lomond breath-taking. Nearest train station is Balloch — quite a long walking distance.

Sadly closed at present but still a beautiful location… can't wait to see the refurbished hotel!

Stayed in the lodges with dinner friends. Even without the main hotel being open due to the fire at Christmas this place is amazing. The sister Hotel down the road, the Carrick, has the facilities you can use with a great spa. The food at the boathouse was very nice too.

Absolutely stunning venue — such a shame about the fire here! The rooms are expensive but impressive. I ate here at the Martin Wishart restaurant which was gorgeous — overlooked the lake and a wedding ceremony taking place on the lawn. The location is literally next to Loch Lomond and there are some incredible views.

Lodge was really nice and would certainly recommend. Only issue was that there was no halal food. But other than that really nice.

We stayed in one of the lodges over the Christmas period. They are excellent; well furnished and beautifully maintained. The Boathouse restaurant is lovely; great food and lovely staff.

I am very disappointed with this hotel. It's definitely not a 5-star hotel … maybe 2-3 stars. I paid £ 400 for 2 nights. The room was very ugly and dirty and small. I felt like in jail … Through the bathroom I found hair.   After 8 hours of driving it took 1:30 minutes to order some food and brought me Microwave-Pizza (disgusting). They did not clean my room the next day … though I told them that. Serving was really horrible. I wanted to use the Spa but I had to go with the car for 30 minutes :) ) ) because they do not have at the hotel. All clients was really unhappy around me … I saw couples who sent the food back 4 times :) ) )  I have not seen anything like this in my life. If you read this review promise me you will not go to this hotel :) ) The most ugly experience of my whole life. This hotel should be permanently closed. Shame on you!

Well, where should I start from? I honestly believe that this Hotel is overrated & overpriced and is nowhere near a 5-star Hotel nor a 1-star Michelin Restaurant. We stayed there for two nights and paid a total of £410.00 for a loft, tiny and unwelcoming "double" room. The room was dirty and we found hair in the shower cabbin which was absolutely disgusting. Room service almost non-existent with unfriendly and untrained staff. The poor customer service is below your imagination and the staff is well untrained — they did not clean our room, regardless any complain you'd make, just prepare to be ignored. Their employees are offering you very different information with regards to their opening hours. Also be prepared to wait more than an hour for your order if you're going to their "luxury" 1-star Michelin restaurant, after they will offer a sincere apologize for bringing the incorrect order twice. We really felt that we've been through a 19 century proper authentic scottish rudeness experience I'm sorry to say. Highly not recommended to anyone.

Had a lovely stay at Cameron House, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The house its self is very well decorated in a traditional Scottish style, as are the rooms. The room was spacious and comfortable with all the amenities needed. My only regret over the weekend is that I didn't plan in time for the spa. Food at the function was excellent. Is you have time I highly recommend taking some time to walk around the grounds and take in the view of Loch lomond.

Really disappointed! I was staying there on business. I stayed in room 130. Firstly I couldn’t find it. Eventually I asked a member of staff and she wasn’t sure. The room was accessed up a spiral stair case. I noticed that the wall paper in places was damaged down to the plaster.
Really disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. One of the sinks had a massive crack in it. The standard lamp was really dusty and the windows had black mildew around the frame. The desk also needed dusting.
I decided to have my breakfast in my room. Following the instructions on the card I pre ordered my food request a specific time slot. The card said that the order needed to be outside my room by 0300 — which it was. This morning I sat and waited and waited. No breakfast! Eventually I checked the door and the card was still there. I phoned room service and they brought food up. Wrong order and barely warm. By now I was running short of time so I had to just eat it and get on with it. No Wi-Fi in the suite that the conference was taking place in, which means I wasn’t able to work.

My husband and I have just returned from a — night stay on your DBB rate, the 4 star I have given is for the hotel decor, beautiful room and surroundings. Were it not for that I would have given 2 starts at best. This 5* hotel is so badly let down by terrible service. We had the same disappointing service on our 1st visit over a year ago but decided to try again, sadly to be let down again! We had lunch yesterday in the bar, it didn't appear to be busy and yet we waited 15 minutes to be served then another 10 to get drinks, not a great start. We had a table booked in The Grill at night and the service was really poor, we waited 45 mins from sitting down before we got our drinks, food order was mixed up, our amous Bouche never arrived and no one came to offer me another drink, our complaints were passed on to the lady in charge on the night. We were then looking forward to an after diner drink in the bar to relax.

Prestene place for up market enjoyment. This is plush. A must visit once type of destination.

Superb service. Great rooms. Great food. Amazing scenery. Fantastic for a wedding, a weekend break, romatic get away or just to go and relax for the day. Highly recomended.

I've just had a lovely lunch with my niece and sister, stunning views over Loch lomond, friendly and courteous staff.

Great leisure facility, great change rooms and showers. Good pool also.

Was there for the leisure centre and spa facilities, was very good with friendly helpful staff. Pool and spa where very good temperatures only down side was the timings on the spa being on and off seem to have changed.

I attended my friends 50th party and was also playing in the band Splash. We have played hotels all throughout Europe and have to say was so delighted that we have such a great hotel in Scotland. Management team we're so helpful when we arrived as we're the waiting staff later that night. Buffet was just simply superb and the food was wonderful and plenty of it as well. Beautiful views the next morning as we sat in the Great Scots Bar having coffee as the kids went to the amazing pool again with great views.

Had dinner at the Grill on Saturday evening and lunch at the Spa Saturday afternoon. Came from Dubai for my sisters Henny. 12 ladies It was the company that made this event special. Not the venue.
Firstly on arrival at Spa, your glass main doors needed such a clean, covered in finger prints first thing in the morning. Ashley, my masseuse was great 10 out of 10.
Our lunch we were accommodated earlier so no complaint there but a fly trapped inside vinegar bottle which we all used over our chips and salad was vile. The small gesture to recompense wasn't enough.
In the evening after almost a year of back and forth communication with "the Grill " we were told quite rudely that our split tables and isolation in the restaurant was because they had no way to communicate with us and didn't even know if we were going to turn up. Email trail proved this to be an untruth. We were given each a complimentary glass of prosecco. (3 Non drinkers) which we all had to carry ourselves to our new table (cramped) in the main part of the restaurant almost 45 minutes after we arrived. Our food order was not taken until we had been there over one hour. Rachel the young waitress was the highlight of our meal. She has such a lovely manner it saved from me complaining on the evening. I am only reviewing my own experience on here however in my party of 12 I know that 4 others did not eat their main meal.

The best hotel experience of last two weeks. Rooms furnished with utmost of comfort and convenience in mind. You have superb staff. Hang on to them. Good people are difficult to come by. We are difficilt vegetarians, do not eat meat, fish or eggs. Your Room Service rep Mr Connor was very helpful in taking care of our special almost unique needs. Will recommend Cameron House to anyone visiting Glasgow and wanting to have a decent, quality place to stay in picturesque environment. Dilip Shah, Room 112.

Upon arriving, we were told that "the computer system was down" and we could not be given a room. We had to wait over 45 minutes and then were finally shown to a room. The room was not what we had booked. We prepaid for a Loch view room and were given a room overlooking the parking lot. When we brought this to the attention of the desk, we were told that no rooms were available. We were not given what we paid for and decided to leave after one night because of the poor customer service. I would not recommend this hotel at all. Apparently this is a very common problem here.

Stayed overnight. Loch vie from the room was picturesque. Relaxed at the spa and had a great meal at the Cameron Grill. Awesome service from excellent staff.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is friendly. The rooms are nice but a little too cold (heating didn't really work). The food at the Boathouse was great.

Beautiful hotel. Nice decor. However the room service and front desk is not 5 star. Room wasn't ready for check in until 4pm. Room wasn't serviced. Had to ask twice for more toilet roll. The boat house food was not very nice and way over priced, staff very slow and not interested. Would not recommend eating in the boat house restaurant.

Cameron House hotel is more like a 3 star hotel, a 3 star hotel that is not even trying. It has a hotel complex feel to it, like a chain hotel that one finds near the airport. It's not an exclusive hotel at all. I won't bore readers with all the details but there are poor standards of cleanliness, the comlex is understaffed and the majority of staff encountered lacked grace and the level of training must be of a low standard. Imagine Little Chef pretending to run a 5 star hotel. Very disappointed. I won't be back. The dinner was good but the hotel really ought to reduce prices of rooms + food due to the huge building works spoiling the views from the dining room. It's a mess.

The hotel and area are beautiful. I had a great view of the loch from my room. The restaurant service at the hotel is extremely poor. We tried three different restaurants in the hotel on various days… All the same poor service. Our waiter or waitress would disappear for long periods of time. We would order and then 25 minutes later they would come back and say they were out of that main course. They would give you a wine list, make a selection and then tell you the wine list isnt updated and they don't have it. We ordered the tea service and it never came; the waiter somehow forgot within the five seconds of leaving us to enter it in the computer. Our last dinner we waited 25 minutes asking for our waitress to get our check and it was a very slow evening.

The Cameron House Hotel is without a doubt a luxury estabisment that caters effortlessly to every whim that I imagine you can think of. Golf? Got it. Gym? Got it. Spa? Got it. Sea Plane taxi and outings? Got it. It is the quintessential scottish hotel brought to a modern standard nestled on the shores of Loch Lomond. I can comfortably state that you will be very happy with staying here for what ever reason you might be in the area. The restaurants too are excellent covering simple food all the way up to fine dining and everything in between. The staff too are excellent. From the moment of arrival until our departure every single person that we interacted with was personable, professional and couldn't do enough for us. All of the above being said it it's not for the light of wallet. Even basic rooms and dinner will set you back about double for what a normal hotel and evening out would cost. Also try and avoid room 14 if you can. It sounds like there is a main drainage pipe in it's walls so there was a constant dripping noise and it's near to the rear of the hotel and, from the sounds of it the goods entrance as we heard a couple of reversing beeps early in the morning. Don't let these few negatives put you off however. If you are visiting Scotland then I would highly recommend staying here. You get a fantastic setting, great hospitality and a very Scottish experience.

While the hotel is quite beautiful and the restraunts are tasty, the service is terrible and the people were overall rude. They attempted to charge us nearly $300 for activities we did not do and then after over an hour of fighting with the manager they still charged us $35. In addition, they attempted to charge us for newspapers we did not receive and room service we never ordered! In fact, at the front desk while we were figuring out our own issues the couple next to us were also being charged for services they did not request. It seems that when you inquire about anything at the hotel they automatically charge you!

Took kids back to place we got married 13 years ago. Family room was fantastic. Swimming pool and squash court a big hit. Lovely memories.

Lovely hotel, lovely views. When we stayed the first time we were in the old part which spoilt it a bit as through the night we could hear floorboards creaking away, but the next stay was fine. Would definitely return. Breakfast was one of the best I've had (and that's saying something! )

Very nice hotel. Very friendly staff. Martin Wishart is not to be missed! The Cameron Grill was a tad disappointing but you get spoiled with steakhouses in the US. No British steakhouse has ever lived up to the best steakhouses of The US. But I'm digressing. The breakfast, which was included, was very nice. And the activities which are available are varied and quite nice. The only real downside was the lack of consistent Wi-Fi. In room 135 it was almost non-existent. Overall 5 stars. Just revamp the Wi-Fi please.

Cameron House never fails to impress. The accommodation is tasteful and comfortable, the food is excellent, and the staff are courteous and professional. Add this to the stunning lochside setting, and you have the perfect weekend getaway treat.

We had an overnight stay in Cameron House. Our visit was to include Dinner, Bed and Breakfast with a trip up to the Carrick Spa on the agenda too. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very special indeed. Our room offered a breathtaking view of Loch Lomond which were simply stunning! The room was spectacularly well appointed with a wet room, bath, luxury bed and all the in room amenities you could ask for from a top hotel. We also visited the spa where the treatment rooms are beautiful and the treatment itself was perfect. That evening we ate in the Cameron Grill. My goodness the food was incredible! I can honestly say that was one of the best meals I've ever had Cameron House boasts attentive friendly staff who could not do enough for us and it is set within grounds that many hotels would kill for. I cannot recommend highly enough!

It's a sensible, straight forward place. The staff are polite and helpful without being over bearing and the clientele are unassuming and respectful. An easy place to go and relax without the usual 'white noise' you find in most establishments.

Amazing hotel. Staff are very helpful. Views in the morning are stunning, great place for an early morning walk around the lake.

First class hotel, superb service, the most beautiful rooms, the finest food, best wines and champagne, excellent swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gym, absolutley stunning location… such a pity about the wobbly tables in the restaurant. Are'nt there any decent carpenters in Scotland?

Nice enough setting but for the money it's expected, what's not expected is the level of poor service and attitude at the Boat House Restaurant which charges 10% "discretionary" service charge, read the fine print on the bottom of the menu's. The food was really very ordinary but the service and attitude was very much a case of, well we getting our tip in the form of the 10% bill so why bother trying to accommodate you anyway, the maitre'd welcomed us from behind a computer monitor which was hiding her face so we couldn't see her, when mentioned to her she gave us one of those "Glaswegian" stares, no smile of course. Upon taking our place at our table, the waitress immediately even before being able to sit down, asked us if we wanted have something to drink without us even having a drinks menu, really weird.

Lovely hotel in a great location. We arrived while they were handling a wedding and checking in two tour busses of customers, so our check-in service was a little shaky, but the rest of the stay was nice. Fabulous breakfasts!
