Friendly staff and the 3 sisters is right next door which is fab however the walls are paper thin and you can hear every movement in the corridors all day/night. I would not recommend here if you fancy a decent nights sleep. Could also do with a freshen up.

Nice stay and clean, only disappointment was the double bed wasn’t a double bed, it was two singles pushed together and kept on separating!

They didn’t bother telling me they had moved to a new location, so I spent an hour wandering around Edinburgh, asking people at pubs if they knew anything. I received two emails from Stay Central (through Booking. Com) and both told me to go to their original location on Cowgate which is under construction. I ended up wandering around for an hour and a half with a laptop, books, notebooks, etc. As I am here for research, I missed my research appointment, and when I got to the new place, I didn’t get more than a shrug. Absolutely atrocious! The concierge told me that someone had tried to contact me but received no reply. That’s absolute nonsense—never happened. Also, I called the hotel’s number from their website (which also says nothing about the move), left a message, and no one ever returned my call! Here are the only two emails I received about my reservation—one is a confirmation, the other is confirming that my request for a quiet room would be honoured.

Was shocked the moment I opened the door its a stunning place the rooms are clean and tidy and they have large comfortable beds the price was amazing and your local to pubs bars and restaurants within walking or even elevators distance of your room but don't let that fool you they have gone to great lengths to try and block as much noise as possible by what looks to be soundproofing on the windows. Truly an amazing place would recommend and stay again.

Literally on top of the noisy bar with loud music till after midnight. But. Good location, nice, modern rooms.

We stayed in the dorm and it was perfect for our needs. Central location, large space with fridge and table tennis, etc. No playstation in the room and no table tennis net but we weren't that fussed. Our room was directly above the main drinking area for hotel so was busy until 1am every night… Not a problem for us as we didn't go to bed until after that but something to consider. Seven stayed in the room and this was comfortable given that there are double bunks.

My daughter and I loved this place! Friendly and helpful staff, spotlessly clean, central location, comfortable rooms with funky decor and lots of in-room amenities. The pub next door had a big screen with bars and food carts set up in the outer courtyard for the World Cup but our room at the back was peaceful and quiet. My only wee complaint would be the lumpy pillows. I would definitely return and recommend to friends!

Stay here if you are a pub lover. Because, the 7th largest pub of Edinburgh is here and it open till late night. If you are not a pub lover then avoid this Hotel as it opens till 1 AM except Saturday (it is 3 PM) with huge sound of concerts.

What a smashing place to "stay" excellent location extremely friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us on our stay. The room was fully equipped, a range of teas and coffees with a tea cake in each cup. Hair dryer. Great space in bedroom and ensuite along with shampoo conditioner and body wash. Will definitely be visiting again and would definitely recommend it.

My boyfriend and I loved it. Perfect location for a trip to Edinbrugh. On the negative side, it is on one of those streets packed with bars and clubs, so it does get a bit noisy at night, especially during the weekend.

Great. The room was very nice. Super comfortable and very close to the Royal Mile.

Nice rooms and very nice helpful staff. Very central to do things. Only thing is the courtyard outside when it's busy and you return to the hotel you get stopped at the gate and they ask for I'd then once through takes 10 min to get through everybody drinking. Very hard to do when your short and have kids. Other than that hotel is amazing good food in pub also would recommend.

The hotel is very central for a tourist (train/bus-7 min walk, castle-5 min walk, club and bars-right outside). The staff was wonderful! The hotel was clean and had all the standard amenities plus some. I would absolutely stay here again.

+ central location (if you were wondering about it…) + peculiar environment and decorations + requested a quiet room, they gave me more: an "isolated" room under the roof :) + good cleanliness + comfy bed (note that the single mattress is slightly narrow) + the idea to provide bluetooth speakers is great! (not so their quality…) + staff is young but well trained, knowledgeable and professional — slow internet, sometime VERY slow (this is the main nuisance of this place, in my opinion) — somewhat chilly in my room — the only small window was locked (or walled?! ) — I dare everyone to rotate the smooth knob in the shower with soaped hands…

Hotel with rooms very well distributed, the bed very comfortable, and has a very good location for sightseeing, the rooms have a couple of European plugs for the most clueless.
The receptionist are very nice and if you ask them they recommend things to do or places to eat. It is a place that would recommend without a doubt to anyone looking for something good quality/price.

Best experience ever. Friendly staff. Rooms r spacious n super clean. They were very generous n upgraded us to a bigger room. Provided us with baby sleeping cot for our 2year old. They also gave lots of Christmas goodies. Would definitely recommend my friends.

For me it's the best hotel in Edinburgh, cool staff, nice clean rooms. Extremely well placed. I really love it and recommend everyone to stay there.

Stay central is excelent located at the haert of Edimburgh. Staff is very nice and rooms are really new, modern, comfortable and well equiped. The bar just downstairs is a really nice place to drink, hear music or eat. If your are traveling by car you can park in the street just above the hotel. Remember to pay at the parking station.

I'd never usually review places but stay central/3sisters is the perfect place. Very friendly hard working staff. Great food and brillaint music. Rooms are very modern and spotless so Looking forward to next year. Thanks guys for a good weekend.

Really great venue, however the 3 sisters courtyard stinks! Can't be helped during festival time I guess… Hotel room itself however is fantastic!

The hotel deserves 3 stars. Clean, comfortable, in good location. But the 209 room is a nightmare! Placed above the local free sisters you will hear all night long over the 2 shouts and music. At the closing after 2 for half an hour at least they will move tables and chairs to clean. Same treatment in the morning around 7.
As soon as I arrived I asked if the pub and beer garden under the hotel would make noise all night and they assured me that the room was quiet.
The continental breakfast served in the aforementioned Stinky pub is awful for £10.

Just had my hen do! It was the best laugh I've ever had I can't recommend the stay central hotel highly enough. The girls booked us a dorm room which was fantastic, sleeps 9, bunk beds with TVs, games galore, massive bathroom with 3 sinks, two toilets and two showers, plus they brought the cocktail masterclass upstairs to us, including our breakfast in the morning which was great, all sat round a ping pong table in our jammies. They have a courtyard downstairs with bars and street food stalls, plus the three sisters bar on site where you can dance, eat, drink etc. The staff looked after us so well, reserving us tables and always checking we have everything we need etc. To top it all off, the Edinburgh festival was on, with the royal mile one corner away quick shout out to Elliot and hafeez — they did our cocktail masterclass, lovely funny guys who looked after us so well and kept the amazing cocktails flowing. Got a hen do to plan? Book this place!

Stayed in stay central for hen party. We all stayed in dorm which sleeps nine place is huge. Could of stayed in so much to do in dorm board games ping pong table television at every bed with headphones. Two toilets and two showers place is spotless. So much today in hotel and courtyard outside with food stalls. Breakfast for nine women delivered to room. Amazing. Staff are so friendly and attentive. Cocktail demonstration in room Elliot and co worker so funny and brave a bunch of drunk women. Could leave bags at reception on checkout to explore fringe festival. Could not fault this place one bit. Thank you for making a great weekend even better.

Location was very close to the centre, clean, friendly and welcoming receptionists.

Nice and clean, lovely staff but toilet door in my room didn't have a lock.

Friendly approachable knowledgeable staff check in was quick and efficient. Room quite and spacious. Well stocked for coffee and tea and a lovely touch that we were given tunnocks tea cakes each day. The room was exceptionally clean and when we let them know a couple of light bulbs needed replacing it was promptly done! The breakfast was excellent and very good value! Altogether a very welcoming place to stay! Would definitely come back.
