Beautiful place. Angela and Brian are the perfect hosts too.

Just had a fabulous stay with Angela and Brian. The weather threw all it could at us but it did not stop our enjoyment. From the welcome we received as total strangers when we arrived to the hugs and promises to return when we left, it has been a fantastic weekend. Angela works so hard at front of house and Brian is just amazing in the kitchen.
The menu isn't huge, but it's reasonably priced and home cooked. The lamb shepherds pie was just so fabulous I had to have it twice.
The rooms are cosy… It's an old 16century building, so huge rooms didn't exist. But they are more than adequate. The beds are supremely comfortable and the duvets light but oh so warm.
cosy log fires are lit in the bar and the dining room, good choice of drinks available, and the chatter between all other guests makes a great atmosphere. The music in the bar was immensely varied in taste culture and rhythm. Something for everyone.
It is at its simplest a small country hotel with stunning views, but it has a huge heart.

Perfect peace and quiet. Comfortable, homely, friendly. Great food. We love this place.

Wonderful hospitality in a stunning location. Cosy log fires, proper home cooked meals and local ale. What more could you ask for after a day out exploring this breathtakingly beautiful area? Our hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful in making our stay a hugely enjoyable one. We would definitely stay there again in the future.

This is a Lovely Oldie Worldie hotel in a stunning location we were lucky to get a room last minute to stay for New Year. We were instantly made to feel very welcome by Angela and Brian and throughout the whole stay nothing was too much trouble. Added bonus we could take our dog! The food was lovely and the home cooked steak pie looked so good we asked if we could take away, we had it for dinner at home it was delicious! The big open Fire was so relaxing in the dining room and great for drying off after a long walk round the surrounding areas. Our room was spotlessly clean too. Thankyou Angela and Brian we hope to return again soon.

Didn't stay in the hotel but a drink at the lake after a long day. Staff were very friendly and the views were spectacular. You'd be a fool not to stop here!

The owners will bend over backwards to make you stay as good as it can be. will go back there again.

APPALLING BEHAVIOUR FROM THE OWNER! Will never be visiting again! We have always admired the location of this hotel and have stopped for a drink once on the way back from Aberdovey. We always intended to have a longer stay next time. Not anymore. My husband and a work colleague were driving home to Shrewsbury after a business meeting when my husband's car broke down near the hotel. Without any mobile phone signal, they asked the barmaid of the hotel if they could use the phone to contact the breakdown service. To give her credit, the barmaid very kindly showed them to the phone in the kitchen. But whilst he was making the call, the owner (Brian) stormed in saying that, thanks to my husband's call, he had been disconnected from the bank actually using the words "I do have a business to run, you know". My husband apologised profusely but explained that he was kindly told he could use it by the barmaid, to which Brian responded "Well, she shouldn't have said that! ". I'm speaking now to the barmaid — you seriously need to find a better employer. It sounds like you're much underrated there! Brian followed this up by "Finish your call and give the barmaid £1". THIS IS ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL — especially when you bear in mind that the RAC is a FREEPHONE number! It is such a shame as this hotel really is in a beautiful location and, if only it was run by people who had an ounce of common decency, I'm sure it would be a great place to stop.

Brilliant place food was amazing as well.

We spent the last 3 nights here. Quite impressed, great service, smiles and environment. Don't expect the ritz, this is a rural hotel in wales that doesn't get TV reception. You're made to feel warm and welcome, great breakfast too I. The dining area. We'd visit again. Thanks.

Brian and Angela (and the staff) put a great deal of effort into providing a fantastic service for those of us fortunate to visit the place. Great food and the view is fantastic. Went there two days running. Can't wait to get back there again.

Got to be the best place in Wales. Simply sublime and truly magical. However, I didn't want to say that because now I won't be able to get in! When you book, tell Brian and Angela you heard about them from me. SUCH a lovely couple…
