Nice place to stay handy if your climbing the nearby cadir idris.
Beware dog owners — we were staying up the road from the hotel and thought we’d pop in for a beer and a meal, seeing that they purport to be dog friendly, yet on arrival we were told that they don’t allow dogs in the restaurant due to food hygiene, which is strange as normally this is a personal choice as other bars and restaurants choose to allow dogs in theirs. We then asked if we could then eat in the bar, and were curtly told we don’t do food in the bar. So all in all the place isn’t dog friendly as you can’t eat inside if you have a dog with you and seeing as it was raining I didn’t fancy sitting outside to eat my meal. We ended up eating in The Railway a few miles away, food was great, far more welcoming and they are actually dog friendly as you can eat in the bar, without falling foul of these dastardly food hygiene regulations.
