Loved this place. The staff are so nice and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and huge. Breakfast was a bit cold but I ate it anyway. This gem is definitely a stop over place if you're in the area!

Attended a wedding at this hotel, £90 for room paid in advance. Arrived at reception and was asked for another £100 to cover "any damages to the room", the £100 "HAD" to be paid by card as they would not accept cash, strange! I was advised that the £100 would go straight back into my account on leaving, alas two days later no money. Avoid this place like the plague, whilst ceremony going on all you could here was the receptionist on a personal call, function room stifling with very little or no air conditioning as well as very expensive bar. Staff cannot give me an honest answer with regard my £100, all in all a joke of a place that is very unprofessionally run, website full of half truths and lies as well as fake reviews, either that or I was in a different place. One poor lady who had 3 rooms booked had to fork out £300! Shocking! Another as I said offered to pay cash as she didn't have a card, was told she couldn't? Luckily her sister paid it, a joke of a place run by chancers. Was planning to take my kids to seaside today sadly I can't as this place has our money and can't give an honest answer, as I said AVOID!

Had a fabulous 2 days stay here, the place is stunning and very quirky, I loved that when the shower had steamed the whole bathroom the mirror was still clear for me to go my make up great wee surprise. The room was also lovely very spacious. The restaurant attached does a great meal and all the staff throughout my stay were very pleasant. I will definitely be having another stay at this beautiful manor. The added bonus of wild bunny rabbits outside my window both mornings was magical to see.

Went for high tea. The steak pie was delicious and the other two people with me also agreed. The other person enjoyed their fish The cake selection was a bit of a let down, scones, shortbread and a brownie, nothing like it is in the photos. Staff very friendly. Would definitely come back for the steak pie.

An absolutely joyless place. No bar staff, no staff in the (admittedly excellent) adjoining restaurant. Just get more staff.

Just had a lovely high tea food and staff lovely.

Lovely afternoon tea… nice selection of sandwiches and cakes. Friendly staff who were very helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

Had a brill over night stay here last night lovely hotel staff very friendly n helpful ryan the barman was fab too.

High tea was very average, fish was nice but the chips and peas looked like they were from the freezer, nothing really homemade. The brownies were nice but all other cakes average.

Very relaxing stunning rooms bar and staff exceptionally warm food great but need to book in advance.

Booked high tea got a choice of 12.30 and 15.30 when we arrived they thought we were having afternoon tea and high tea was not served till 4pm. When our meal of fish n chips arrived the fish was really greasy and the batter was thicker tan the fish on my mum's. We were asked how our meal was and when told it was not good the girl serving said she did not cook it. She returned and offered us another meal? Bad service bad food I would not recommend this.

We went for a cream tea and it was an excellent spread. Child friendly, polite staff and good presentation. Miss Marple would have loved it!

Great overnight stay and dinner deal… lovely room and meal. Attentive staff. Would go again.

What a lovely place. Ten of us ladies went there today for afternoon tea. Really good food and lots of it. Numerous refills of tea and coffee and first class service. We will go back.

My friend and I went fot high tea for the second time. We arrived 30 minutes early and were made very welcome. Food arrived (we both had the fish and chips) freshly cooked and piping hot. Would definitely recommend.

Had afternoon tea here, lovely service, very welcome. We had a member of our party that needed gluten free. They like to know in advance so you don't need to wait but we forgot to mention it on booking or arrival. They were very nice and just needed to wait a few minutes while they did a gluten free afternoon tea for one member. Really lovely we were there for nearly 3 hours and were never told us to leave and were given constant top ups of tea or coffee.

Very comfortable and cosy rooms. The shower in mine and my partner's room was slightly broken as it didn't turn off completely. Would suggest to have more common options for continental breakfast.

Absolutely first class. Thoroughly enjoyed the dinner, staff so welcoming and courteous. Bed super comfy and location of hotel perfect for visiting the Kelpies. Ten minute stroll away. Can't fault it. A great find.

We went for the high tea here. Was quite busy but we were welcomed in and seen to write quickly. The diffusion of nice and the high tea was good for the offer we had that day. I would try this again and would recommend it to friends and family.

Lovely hotel, great atmosphere. Breakfast is lovely. Local restaurant is also very good.

Service was good and the venue is excellent. We had afternoon tea — sandwiches were lovely but scones were very dry as were some of the cakes. Strawberry cakes were delicious though.

We had high tea which was very nice. Gluten free well catered for. Shane it was so quiet but we were as late as possible. Would recommend.

A very enjoyable experience, staff very helpful, efficient, friendly and courteous in all areas of the hotel. Special mention of Jean in reception who willingly 'went the extra mile'. I am disabled and found everything adequate except for one detail, the lighting in the disabled room is very poor for anyone like myself when is disabled and partially sighted. I would still recommend this very good hotel! I. S.

No stars here so dont know why it asks you for at least one before you continue to comment Pathetic. Staff very rude and not interested in customers. Especially the waitress with the long hair black jacket and freckles who was doing a breakfast shift.

Room was very clean Good breakfast buffet But drinks were not self service.

Satisfactory hotel with good food. The rooms are very nice and the staff are kind, however the main downside for me was the terrible Wi-Fi connection. Do not stay at this hotel if you're a professional who relies on consistent and fast internet access.

BRIDES AND GROOMS BEWARE! My partner and I had our wedding booked for June 2016 we had originally booked with June who was absolutely amazing, having been a wedding coordinator myself for many years we wanted someone who we knew would take charge and get the job done, unfortunately June left the company after many years of service and Mr Smith & Mr Macdonald from Macdonald Hotels who both own the hotel failed to be loyal and appreciate their employees. The new manageress (oh yes because they got rid of Helen the previous manageress as well) Sue and the new event coordinator James have done nothing but lose notes (mine in particular) and try to scam brides by adding last minute charges on to their bills with things like projector screens etc. Which were previously agreed by the former event coordinator June… Unfortunately for the Hotel a lot of the brides network with each other as a few of us meet at one of the hotels wedding fairs and the hotel should not get away with this! I personally know that June wrote everything down for our wedding all the requests and agreements made where done in person and yet the hotel denies the existence of these notes, and now that we have lost confidence in the hotels ability to carry out our wishes for our wedding we have cancelled with enough time to just lose our deposit which was also agreed with June that it would be £170 low deposit but now that she is gone they are trying to scam us of £500!

Took a chance on Cook's Bar and Kitchen when passing, wish we hadn't bothered. Woefully understaffed on a Bank Holiday Monday. Waited 40mins for garlic bread (whilst the rest of the table had their starter! ) It has nice decor and a decent menu but tbh the food is no better than McDonalds. At least you get the service in McD's! My 2yo fish goujons had a batter so greasy it was inedible. Won't be back and won't recommend to friends, sorry.

This hotel looks very nice inside and outside and the staff are very helpful. We paid for a early checking in but when we arrived are room wasn't ready and we had to wait a extra half hour until our room was ready. The bath water was brown the first time I run a bath and toilet didn't have an air freshener. The room service was poor. Didn't have my room cleaned till 4pm the next day. And its very expensive, its defiantly not what its worth.
