Myself and new Fiancè just had an overnight stay dinner and breakfast and are considering our wedding here in the near future such a lovely hotel great sea view glass of bubbly brought to us amazing food amazing breakfast and lovely service we will be back thank you.

Our overnight stay at the waterside was fabulous, the staff were very helpful and the place was absolutely spotless. The spa suite was stunning and huge with beautiful balconies and jacuzzi/sauna etc. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely loved this hotel. My Mum and Sister have been several times and recommended we go and it did not disapoint. I usually ask quite a few questions when I book somewhere and I was answered via email each time in a VERY helpful, VERY friendly manner. The hotel itself is gorgeous, like New England style and appeased my love for America as it's very American looking from the outside to the wrap around porch, etc. We had the sea view room with balcony and although my Mum and Sis sent pics when they stayed, this didnt do it justice, the view smacks you in the face, in a good way, when you enter. The bed is massive… my 6"4 Husband looked lost in it, ha! The bathroom with Jacuzzi bath suited him a treat. We ate in the restaurant on night 1 and the service was fantastic and the cocktails (Waterside sunset), was the best i've tasted. 2nd night we sat with our french doors open and sat with a bottle of prosecco for several hours until the sun went down. The breakfast was THEE best i've had anywhere, not only choice wise but quality. The smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were superb and large in portion size. We would 100% recommened the hotel for views of the stunning beach, the huge bed, room in general and the staff who were all so very friendly and cheery from start to finish, that includes the housekeeping staff too. Go… you will not be disapointed!

We were in a standard room, nothing standard about this room it's enormous including the bed, a fantastic bath and shower… would definitely come back and get a sea view next time. Staff really friendly, Breakfast was lovely too.

Had a fantastic night went down had a few drinks great to be out again and staff doing a fantastic job absolutely great service. Keep it up.

Firstly I like to say that this place is absolutely stunning inside and outside! Myself and my wife to be were all prepared to be married on 21/03/2020 and due to unforeseen circumstances and at the very last hurdle the venue had no choice but to close their doors and we had to postpone our wedding. It was a very heartbreaking time for us especially with it being less than 12 hours before. Claire who works in the venue and was in charge of looking after us the night before was absolutely amazing with the whole situation, as much as she could see our heartache I could also see hers. The venue kindly allowed us to have dinner and stay the night with our families. My fiancée and I were kindly upgraded to the absolutely stunning spa suite and it was safe to say I made sure I was a rock star for the night we have now booked a future date at this venue and we can’t thank them enough for their support see you all in September.

Beautiful hotel our 2nd visit for an overnight stay. Fab rooms at the back with sea views are amazing comfy bed, staff are all great too. Didnt have dinner but breakfast in the morning was plentiful.

Had afternoon tea today with my mum and daughter. We'd previously been for afternoon tea elsewhere and was so disappointed but we had a completely different experience this time. The restaurant has a lovely and relaxed atmosphere and the staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Food was lovely and plenty of it. The views are amazing even on a miserable day. Will definitely be back.

Always an excellent meal here and the service is pretty good too.

What's not too like about this hotel. Wonderful spacious room, with sea view, friendly, helpful staff and great food. Price was excellent for the dinner, bed and breakfast deal through 5pm.

Having booked our wedding here, we could not fault the team for their excellent service! Every time we visited, for a meeting about the wedding, a personal visit, or the wedding itself, each time we have been met with warm smiles, excellent service and great food. The wedding team themselves did an outstanding job and David and Stacey or master ceremonies were amazing and I knew I could trust them to keep the day on track and running smoothly. Guests highly rated the venue, the views, the food and the service. We were so glad we had our wedding here. We loved the Ailsa lounge for our ceremony and the reception space is versatile and clean, with a great and decent sized dance floor. Can’t wait to come back soon! Thank you again to all the team, Roger and Alison.

Went for my sisters 21st birthday service was terrible staff never came to check was everything all right never got asked do we need more drinks the food took about a hour to come and most of the food came wrong and cold we were gonna order a dessert but the service was that bad we changed our mind definitely won’t be back ever again for the way we were treated.

What a fabulous setting for a wedding the weather held out for it to be held outside facing the sea just marvelous staff were very professional.

First time here for an overnight treat for our anniversary. Fantastic hotel and location is outstanding with beach on the doorstep. Our room was lovely and modern and a great size too. A massive thanks to the staff, I have got say every one of them have a great service and seemed genuinely happy to be doing their job. Food and drinks were all excellent too. The cookie dough sundae was amazing!

My husband and I got married here on Sunday the 19th of August. From the start, seeing the venue and being shown around by kylie (one of the wedding co-ordinators) who sold the venue to myself and my husband. My family and bridesmaids fell in love with the venue. Very modern, nautical theme, perfect setting and beautiful scenery. Private from the public and other hotel guests, private garden and beach for pictures and guests to relax. A very special thanks to Ryan on keeping …us on track for the week before the wedding, planned everything down to each minute of the day and his planning was very successful. Because of Ryan, kylie and Stacey the whole day was a major success. The staff that served on the day were phenomenal, polite, professional and quick. Not only did the staff ensure that we had an amazing day but they ensured every guest had an amazing day also. All of the staff are a credit to the waterside. The honeymoon suite was perfect. We don’t have a bad thing to say about this venue or the staff. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a wedding venue. Thanks again to the amazing staff.

Great location. Newly refurbished, good food and drinks menu. Nice outdoor are at the front. Weird non access to the beach is annoying, we just jumped over the low wall…

Poor service and small portions were all we received and then overcharged with the bill. All though the food was awesome and the ambiance was great. Still feel robbed after a night out here.

This hotel is worth a visit as the food was great service was good but was a bit expensive as it was £13.50 for fish and chips. It was very clean and was busy. Will I go back? Yes I will but on a special occasion.

Service, excellent. Atmosphere, very easy and comfortable. Music too loud at times but in general, not too bad. Love this place for lunch and/or coffee. This is my place of choice every time.

Beautiful hotel, very clean, modern and spacious. Spent an overnight with hubby. Food was good in restaurant too. Staff very attentive and friendly. Megan in reception was very helpful. Will definitely be back for another stay.

Slow service in the restaurant when not all that busy. 1.5 hour meal for just a main course each and we had to both ask to order while waitresses were more focused on cleaning tables. Afterwards I had walk up to the bar to pay as we couldn't wait any longer.

Attending my best friends wedding. The staff at the Waterside were just amazing. Their attention to detail was first class and attentive way they dealt with my dietary requirements was exceptional. If I could give them more stars on this survey I would.

Attended a wedding here. Not overly impressed with staff attitude. One of the bar staff were excellent. She was very professional and friendly with an excellent memory for a round but the others were nonchalant and cold.

Lovely meal after a walk on the beach with our pups. Great that we could take them into the beer garden and not leave them in the heat this afternoon. Food was lovely. Thank you.

New decor makes the place so much more brighter. Attended a wedding here which was a lovely venue for my friends bug day. Even better when the sun is out as outdoors looks onto the beach and over the water.

Firstly I cant beleive the wedding is over… however the waterside has given us memories to last a lifetime.
From 2pm day before of emma and roberts wedding I cannot fault staff in this venue nothing was a problem… helpful and happy to help.
Rooms wers beautiful and even though we had to change rooms next day (as there was a wedding on that evening) they helped us move everything.
The honeymoon room was massive so there was loads room for bride bridesmaids videoagrapher photographer hair makeup … list goes on.
Ryan you are a credit to the waterside your no flap attitude was great you smiled all day (even if you thought otherwise you would never have known) haha as was stacey (hope name was right) in the evening.
From getting bride down on time to calming her and making sure there day was perfect.
Food was lovely and warm served with no fuss even when there was table dances going on around them lol.
Setting up in the evening was so quick and reception started on time.
Lastly a massive thankyou to karen seeing your face beaming in the room before emma went downstairs was lovely you were there the day they booked the wedding (and emma thinkin you were her personel wedding co-ordinator) haha. Karen and malcolm … you have created a beautiful venue and chosen great staff from front desk to house keepin to bar staff and managment
I would have to hesitation in recommending this venue to any bride to be it was fantastic Thankyou.

Oh dear — I love this place, but have visited twice in the last two weeks and have been really disappointed. This week I visited with my other half, but I will only comment on my meal — we chose from the two courses for £10 menu. I chose pate and the tandoori chicken curry. The pate was dense, flavourless and definitely NOT home made. The oatcakes and salad were lovely but the pate wasn’t! The main course was very tender (maybe poached) chicken in a standard jar of supermarket gelatinous curry sauce — certainly NOT as the menu described — “Tandoori chicken marinated with Kashmiri red chilli and yoghurt, served with saffron basmati rice”. Last week I had “sizzling” fajitas that were neither sizzling nor fajita flavoured — in fact an overall taste of OXO cubes pervaded. As I said, I really love this place but feel it is sliding downhill. I will go back just to be proved wrong, but third time might be last…

On arrival we were seated quickly. We visited specifically for the gluten free fish and chips and we were told this was available. We ordered only to be told the gluten free option was not on as they had run out of batter. We ordered an alternative which arrived speedily. The quality of food was average, unusual for this venue as we have eaten there before and it has always been good.

We had our wedding here, can't recommend this place highly enough. Stunning venue and location right on the water front, wonderful food and very attentive friendly staff who go that extra mile to ensure that you are having a great day.

This is my husband and I's favourite eating place, worth the 50min drive to get there! Reason — location, feel of the place, choice of food and prices. If it's a lovely day, sitting outside at the back of the restaurant gives you a feeling of being someplace much further than West Kilbride. Inside is themed really nicely with certain areas having a different feel to others. Menu choice is great — with option of light bites (cheaper, smaller portions to suit small appetites, seniors) and regular menu. We haven't had a bad meal here. Definitely worth a visit.

Food was fresh and tasty. Clean bright and friendly staff. Prices in line with other places. May be they could open up more seaview tables. I can understand the additional cost etc. But it's the main reason people are attracted to the restaurant.

This was an itison voucher and this seems to mean you’re a second class patron. This was part of my husbands Christmas present and we were so looking forward to it. The room was lovely and the location is beautiful but the staff were very sneaky and swapped our room. We had been given room 311 the envelopes were all laid out on reception waiting for us then as we got in the lift the receptionist flew through the door and said there’s been a mix up we gave you the wrong room. We were then given room 320 which was lovely so we were quite happy until the early hours of the morning when the kitchen extraction fan was turned on what a racket it woke me up and I never got back to sleep, I should have complained at the time but I didn’t feel like making a fuss probably as I was so tired but this has been bugging me so hence the review. The food was ok nothing special and I don’t think we’ll be back. beware room 320!

Walking the Coastal walk and four of us (plus dog), came in for lunch on Thursday. Sat outside as we had the dog. Had to go in to order food, even though we had originally gone in on our arrival and staff directed us to the outside space. Order was placed (soup & sandwich for all of us) plus tea and coffee. Two arrived, and told the other two would be out soon. This, at the same time a party who arrived after us, also outside, received their order all together (same food ordered as us). Our two friends had finished their meal before we received ours. Terrible service, terrible attitude from the manager, who, when my two friends went inside to pay for the meal and split the cost of mine as a treat, comments on how he'll just wait till they sort it out (NOT the attitude to have in this job! ) Customer service should be a top priority. Having frequently visited the Waterside and had food from the very beginning of it opening, We have had mixed experiences with the place. Love the coast and decor BUT will not be back. Get your act together and put the customers first. People have a choice. And I for one will never be back.

Nice looking place, but not enough to encourage another trip. Our third visit and as usual it was not a relaxing atmosphere as the staff are all charging about in what seems like an unorganised array. Head waiter/supervisor had an arrogant attitude. We decide then not to order food and just have coffee so we moved outside to the patio area, only to be followed out by a waitress who claimed to be 'not long in the job' nervously telling us that "you must pay before you come outside". We had not yet been served at this point. We also had a wait of fifteen to twenty minutes for three lattes, a mocha and a "babycino". So, sad to say we will not be back.

Amazing rooms — good showers and baths. Rooms very clean and modern. Food could be better but staff very polite.

We had a wonderful overnight stay. Reception & waiting staff were very friendly & efficient. Also had a family lunch while we were there. Meals were excellent. Room with great views. Plan to revisit.

Had a great and relaxing time at the waterside staff couldn't be more helpful food was excellent many thanks to the chef and his team never eat so well. Well done to the team at the waterside. As big arnie says I'll be back.

One of my best friends just been married here. It’s a beautiful venue for a beautiful bride. Stunning views outside and fantastic rooms inside. Highly recommend.

Friendly helpful staff on reception, in bar and waiting on table — if selected by the local management, you succeeded. Good quality business accommodation. Food at evening meal was inviting and well worth trying. With lots of places to choose from, I will be returning. Nice local walks to the local villages and beech. Give it a try.

Beautiful venue. Lovely rooms. Wedding meal really good, breakfast a bit disappointing.

The building is lovely. A great car park and a fantastic location. The staff are friendly and the food is very good. The problem is the layout. The kitchen is at one end of a long building which means staff are constantly walking long distances to fetch meals. This results in appallingly slow service and a seemingly inattentive staff. This could be so much better!

Perfect place for a drink and some food. The best is the view, it's very pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the garden.

Stunning location right on the edge of the water. The views are awesome. Very modern well built hotel. We were there for a wedding. It is really well set up for that! Great efficient staff, very flexible venue. What's not to like.

Arrived late at night. Receptionist was great and very welcoming. Room was superb, and breakfast the next morning couldn't be faulted. Would definitely stay again.

Booked a table for 8 for my Mum's Birthday, service was really poor. Waited nearly an hour for food, food arrived at different times, with 10 minute intervals. Drinks were slow to arrive. Staff not very attentive, food was put down with not so much as a smile or can I get you anything else, not even at the end of the meal were we asked if we enjoyed it. Had to chase for the bill, will not be back which is unfortunate as it is a really nice place. Had family from all different parts of the country come for this, embarrassing to say the least!

My husband and I have been here a good few times for lunch and dinner never had any problems. We like it so much that for the last two years we have bought the Christmas package for 2days give it a try really nice and the rooms are immaculate.

This isn't the first time I've said to myself "I won't be back", but it's really last time. Location good, decor very good. The food would be overpriced if it was up to my expectations but sadly yet again, it wasn't. If you are really hungry you'll probably eat it. I didn't. I was only hungry. Still had to pay for it though.!

Visited her for a wedding reception; very spacious clean rooms, staff are friendly (and happy people) and the food was good. Only 4 stars though because the cost of the drinks was more than we found comfortable/wanted to pay. (We all just drank less so it didn't bother us that much). Good venue and perfect for our friend's wedding disco.
