Only place we could get in short notice will not go again very dissatisfied.

Our second stay as we thought we'd give it another chance. Even worse than the first time and had to move rooms 3 times but still a shitty place with ill fitting (if fitted at all) toilet seats, no room cleaning at all, no heating, dirty landings etc etc etc. Have written twice asking for a full refund but not even a reply, apology etc so I will be taking this matter further. Even heard one new guest complain that there wasn't a bed in their room… Faulty Towers is too kind a phrase (stayed here for 3 nights in Nov 2017)

Not actually worth 1 star. Don't book here. Worst thing is payed cash as told card machine not working. Power kept cutting out. Lift not working no Wi Fi. Other people in reception complaining. Stairs not hoovered. One bath towel and hand towel for two people. Breakfast supposed to be included in room rate. Was not breakfast man not arrived! Offered tubs of cereal with hardly any in them. Searched for some milk in fridge. 2 apples and brown banana in a bowl. Do feel sorry for young lad on reception reckon he's been well stitched up.

1 star is a much better rating that what this hotel should be given. Please do not book here! I had booked to stay here for 2 nights with a few colleagues in September 2017, however after check in, was required to look for another hotel to stay in due to their poor conditions. Unfortunately, as per their policy, the room is paid for upon check in — despite a refund being agreed I am yet to receive this (and have chased them several times over the last few months, however the…y do not typically respond to emails nor does the Manager ever come to the phone). Upon being given the key to my hotel room (the first one) I was informed that there had been a flooding issue and that some of the rooms were not accessible. I was given the key to the 'best room' that they had at that time, only to find that there were no blinds on the window and a bed sheet had been hung up instead. There was also no electricity in the room, and therefore I was not able to see the bathroom in that room (so cannot comment on the conditions of this). I returned to reception to explain the above and also advised that my colleagues were due to check in later that evening. At this point, I was told that depending on what time they checked in, the hotel may not have had any available rooms given that there was still a further 7 people to check in and only 3 or 4 more rooms available (due to the flooding) ; something the morning staff must not have addressed but clearly had not.

Very economical, close to coach station. But roams not so good. Bath rooms had lot of issues.

Was very impressed with the accommodation here for the price we paid. It was very good value for money. Room was clean and well presented. TV and air conditioning all worked, added bonus of tea and coffee facilities in the room. Staff were all very friendly and made your stay welcome. The hotel is perfect for people visiting the bull ring which is only a short walk from the hotel. Plenty of bars and take always if nightlife is your thing. I would definately stop here again.

Very good location and very good price for a short stay in Birmingham city centrer. However their rooms are not soundproof at all, all the doors slam and make a lot of noise and the Wi-Fi signal is questionable. The staff is very nice but not really proactive. I do not recommend the breakfast there. It met my expectations, but some people may be picky about the stuff I mentioned.

Not bad for the price. Rooms are very uncharacteristic and unfinished. No room service nor dinner or bar area. I was told that it was recently taken over and actually has been recently taken over, but that was a year ago.

Terrible noise from the local club that will keep you awake all night. Followed by terrible service when you try to resolve it. Absolutely everything was too much trouble!

I never saw an awful hotel like this,
First during check in the guy want us to pay what we already did. Then in a big drawer he give us some keys. Didn't work at the door again and again. Well it was like the lottery sometimes you can open your door sometimes not.
Ugly room with old furniture, trash can still full, then bed wasn't cleaned, windows can't be open, still shit in the toilet, shower doesn't work, hairs on the ground. Went back to the desk, the guy didn't know …what to say no manager in the house, maybe she come tomorrow. Then he said I'm all alone can't help you I'm all alone. Like it's mine problem that he is alone? I booked a room and it's dirty, not even cleaned. Well we decided not to stay cause I don't want to find any other worse things out, he promise for a pay back but they don't even have paper or stamps from the hotel so with a handwritten letter he send us away… if I could rate with minus I would do, — 10, seriously, 4 stars? Come one nobody would stay in that room! How is it going with this ugly hotel? Still waiting for my money!

This 'hotel' needs condemning. Truly awful, I didn't pay to stay here myself yet I still felt ripped off. Room was dirty, window was broken, curtains didn't close, carpet had huge stains on it, cups were provided but no spoons, the electrical supply in the room was faulty (plugging a phone charger in next to the bed tripped a circuit breaker which cut the power supply to the room and needed resetting by the receptionist). Some fire doors can not even close due to being badly fitted, this is unacceptable in a hotel. Staff are disorganised and unprepared, and in one instance plain rude (a slightly late check out had been agreed when we arrived the previous day, then when checking out we were snottily told "check out is 11" by the girl on reception who seemed annoyed to have to divert attention to us and away from her mobile phone). This place didn't actually feel like a functioning hotel. We witnessed a family be told by the receptionist after arriving at the hotel at 11pm on a Friday night that they wouldn't be able to stay as there were no rooms due to being "overbooked". Judging by other reviews this is a common occurrence. Don't bother staying here, there are so many things wrong that the chance of not having any problems is minimal. The fact that payment in full for your stay is needed when you arrive says all you need to know — no receipt was ever provided for our stay either (through an online booking) despite an email receipt being promised.

Worst experience in a hotel room that I have ever endured. Entered the hotel, looked great. At the desk we met a young lady that checked us into our room without smiling once (we later found out that her car broke down in the car park, still could have smiled to the customers). We entered the lift, it smelt indentical to my hotel room toilet in Thailand after a night out on 'street food'. We approached our room, opened it with the key provided, then myself and my partner burst into hysterics. Here's a quick list of the problems (pictures can be provided if anybody wants to see). Curtains don't fit windows, mould and cracks on ceiling of bathroom, no wardrobe, dirty tissues under bed, mattress doesn't fit bed (too small), no headboard, one towel, no heater, no bedside table, HUGE gap under the door, random plastic poles laying in the corner of the room, windows lined with duck tape. It was basically just a dirty room with a bed. We literally could not believe it. So we immediately went downstairs to speak to the receptionist, there wasn't one. We waited over ten minutes for somebody to appear. A guy came over, he sat down and we told him the problem — 'there must be a mistake, we were put in a dump'. Not exactly those words but you get the idea, we were angry but at the same time controlled. This is where things get strange. He immediately said 'would you like a refund'. We said yes, I asked are all rooms like this, he replied 'they're all like the picture online'.

You get what you pay for. Cheap but very basic ground floor single room. Decor tired and the room had a musty smell, could not open the window to air it. Fairly clean if don't inspect too closely. On the positive the staff at reception was friendly, car parking ok and location though in a grimy area, is near the Bullring shops.

Worst place I've ever been, function room has a wosps nest in there kitchen. If I'm honest I wouldn't refer someone to this place if it was the last place on earth.

I went there for a Yam festival. The building looked good. I admired the tiles. The toilets were clean with toiletries on the shelves. The chandeliers are marvellous. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The room itself was to an acceptable standard, apart from the missing toilet seat and no cups or spoon but coffee tea milk and kettle in room. The receptionist had to clean the rooms herself as no cleaners turned up for work. The breakfast was not great, cold boiled eggs, toast cereal and juices, however I feel that Morrisons savers spread not even butter, value jam and chocolate spreads isn't what you would expect from a hotel and the dining area had a leaking air conditioner unit so buckets dotted around the eating area and the tables were dirty. The whole place could do with a bloody good scrub and hoover. Staff were polite enough though!

Has to be the worst hotel /inn we have ever stayed in, to start with, the members of staff couldn't find our room keys to check in, then they gave us the wrong keys to the room and we ended up walking into the wrong room which was occupied as there was other people's belongings everywhere, when we did get given the right room with the right keys, there was bare wires sticking out of the door handles for electric locks, which didn't work, the door frames had lever marks which looked like the door had been forced open, the bed side lights didn't work,, the carpets had stains everywhere, the was cigarette butts in the window channels/frames and to top it off there was NO toilet seat, the bed was comfortable and the sheets smelled clean, breakfast seamed to be a very basic (cereal or toast) buffet type deal, which after the rest of the experience, we declined to try, we booked the rever inn as the pictures looked impressive and as it says on the hotel review " the rever inn is the place to be ", to be honest next time if there's no rooms free in a travel lodge where staying in the car rather than going back to the rever inn.

Stayed before and booked 2 nights. The 2nd night I stayed they couldnt find the key I left at reception and had me waiting 45 mins in the lobb for them fo find it! With the small mishap anyway I decided to just rebook as it was quite cheap for the weekend of Birmingham Pride. Had it booked ages in advance for them to them email to say they are cancelling booking 2 DAYS BEFORE as there was "water problems" with hotel and needed to have it fixed. I then found out it wasnt the case and they just over sold and sold the rooms for a higher price and cancelled mine. Avoid at all costs!

Rooms basic but just wanted a place to crash after a night out, staff helpful, overall OK.

Clean rooms but no tea or coffee making facilities. Polite staff. There is a night club nearby though and I can hear the music from my room.

There was a bed so the hotel fulfilled its purpose. That is all.

Wow. Thank goodness I read these reviews first. I was about to recommend this hotel to friends coming to Birmingham but after having one friend ripped off already and knowing how important a decent breakfast is, I will make sure this venue NEVER becomes an option. Are you really THAT desperate for revenue that you can't refund a deposit. Bad practise and poor customer service.

My friend had to cancel a booking 3 weeks in advance and the robbing bar stools said she has to pay £20, wouldn't mind but it's a bank hol weekend so it's not even like the couldn't re sell it such rubbish customer service, you should be ashamed. Very poor and desperate hotel practice!

Great night sleep, good facilities :)

Spacious rooms. Comfy Beds. Free parking. Close to the city centre. Lovely reception staff. Quick check in. Nice English breakfast. Bar is open 24/7. Found it too hot. Not bad for 30 to 40 pounds.

Location ok. Streets was a bit scary. Nice and big spacious hotel. Room not bad. Rubbish curtains. Very small bathroom. Could not pee properly. Lovely bed though slept well.

Do NOT stay at this hotel — it's 4:40 am and the blasting music from next door night club hasn't stopped yet. The hotel has cheap feel and we won't be staying the next night we booked. I've stayed in 2 start hostels in central America that were worth more than this stay!

Nice new hotel but need to ask to change rooms as there was no wardrobe! Moved to a new larger room with no mirror! Breakfast was extra on top of the 80 per night and consisted of only sweet options, toast and jam, yogurts and cakes. Would have been good to have some cheese and ham especially for the diabetic husband! Pretty poor really.

This is a cheap hotel in a rundown area (up and coming some would say) the hotel is clean and run very well, very comfortable bed and great shower. Hopefully the fire alarm is sorted now as no fire panel should be left silenced! Very useful for a one night stay close to the Bullring and NIAMEY.

Not very happy with the service we received when staying, one room smelled of the drains and dirty sewage, we notified the receptionist of this and her reply was 'yeah I know' not a resolution! also no hot water for the whole stay so was unable to shower before going out and before checking out in the morning. Most definitely not worth the £80 per room.
