Nice hotel with good ambience inside. Very clean with friendly and helpful stuff. During our stay we took only breakfast, which had a good selection to choose from and nicely displayed. The room was not of any particular size, but the location is very central and since we spent most of the time outside it didn't bother us. Well recommended.

Helpful staff. Close to railway station and amenities. Five minutes from city centre. Sensibly priced. Room could be cleaner, especially toilet. Nice food service in main area.

Yay free earplugs.! oh I see… Modern facade/features… until you go up to your room. Basic, but all there I guess. Twin beds. Were. Shocking. Slept in comfier bathtubs. Staff were friendly though. Checked out at 3am to drive home 3hours. Didn't get to try the breakfast. I guess if you buy cheap don't expect any sleep. I'll stick to another hotel chain in future.

Nice clean big rooms. Unusual, modern and quirky reception and bar. It's a little 'unexpected', but I liked it.

The food is really good, the beds are also good. The people are so friendly and the drinks are top notch! The only thing I didn't like was that the toilet paper was the wrong way but that's just me, lol.

The food was great. The lack of reception desk was a bit strange but it seems to work. It's not really convenient for new street station as there's either stairs or a long taxi ride to get here, but for exploring the city it's in an excellent location. The staff were friendly. It was slow service at 3am on a Saturday night, it may have just been a staffing issue. The police also use the cafe in the lobby as a break area so there's plenty of police nearby at night which makes the area surrounding the hotel very safe.

Great city centre hotel within walking distance to the main train station (New Street) and with plenty of attractions nearby. Private car park on site. Rooms a little on the small side but clean and functional. Staff very friendly and professional.

Many thanks to the staff there — especially Carlo and Gabriela — for another great experience. The best Ibis in Europe as customer experience goes. Excellent value for money.

Pros: Staff were friendly. Cons: Bathroom very small. Kept up until 4am by the club next door. I am usually a heavy sleeper so this is unusual for me. Absolutely would not recommend if you want a good night's sleep.

Brilliant hotel and bar! My room was just the right size, not quite pokey but definitely not too big to stop it being cosy. The staff were always polite and smiley throughout our visit and the food was delicious on the one night we did visit. Drinks selection wasn't the best but not a downside in my view as the hotel is in the middle of the Chinese Quarter and only a short walk to a lot of bars and a restaurants. Despite it being on a main clubbing road of Birmingham centre the building was well soundproofed. If I am ever visiting Birmingham again, I will likely check this Ibis first.

The rooms are not huge but certainly big enough to be comfortable and good value for the price. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The bar is a nice place to sit and have a drink before you go out and is decently stocked. Breakfast has lots to choose from and the seating area is kept clean and tidy. Great location close to lots of things to do in the city. Would recommend.

Pretty good! Bed was super comfy, I honestly didn't notice the noise (though if you're a really light sleeper I'd suggest you stay somewhere a bit farther out or use the ear plugs provided! ) and not a bad price for the middle of the city. Only problem was that the shower in the morning kept switching between acceptable, boiling hot and then coldish, but the chap I told sounded like he was going to get it seen to asap.

Very good location for hotel. Was planning an evening out around the area and it is an ideal location. Staff there are very friendly and welcome you with a nice greeting. Rooms are very nice and clean, and big too.

The single beds seem very small. It's hard to turn over without be toppling over the edge. But on the other hand the bed was really comfortable. The spare pillows had a faint odour as if they have been used and the pillow cases not changed. But me personally didn't need to use the spare pillow anyway. The room is small the bathroom is really small. But I did have a decent sleep. The staff where very very friendly and nice to talk to. There was a cobweb hanging off the ceiling above directly above where your head would lay. Once again I really enjoyed my stay and didn't find the small room an inconvenience. Not to mention the club's around music can be heard very very clearly. The hotel does give you ear buds to help block it out. But I can't sleep in them honestly. I do recommend this hotel. Just worth noting the negitive.

I was booked into the Ibis for a work course in the local area so was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The staff were Helpful and Welcoming. The room was basic but comfortable and warm. I slept well, so bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean, shower was powerful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed overnight at this hotel last weekend as we wanted to see the Frankfurt Christmas Market. Great location, a few minutes walk to the market and the Bullring. Didn’t have food there but the room was fine for the 2 of us. I have to say that Stephan on Reception was more than helpful so if anyone has any questions when they arrive at this hotel, he’s the man! We had a really enjoyable overnight stay and would definitely use this hotel again.

Nice hotel with no frills, I seem somewhat separated from the center. The deal is perfect and has a great hall where you can dine on the hotel food or your own.

Comfortable room, medium bathroom (shower poorly waterproof, little room…). Breakfast OK but a bit expensive for what it is.

We had a function room for the day for a work event. I didn't interact with the staff much, but when I did they were polite and friendly. The room was perfect for our needs. The toilets we were directed to were fine although small and only two cubicles per gender. We had a basic lunch provided (sandwiches and crisps) which was good. The hot drinks machine made one of the best hot chocolates I have ever had. Very happy and would certainly recommend it.

I would happily stay at this ibis for a couple of nights. The location is easily accessible from the train station and is close to the night life. That is also a slight negative if you're a light sleeper as club noise can be heard until late. The service here is fantastic, checking in was smooth and fast and there were no problems sorting additional services like breakfast. I did notice that it's actually cheaper to get the breakfast in person rather than online so if you want to save a little bit of money don't order the breakfast online. The room is small but perfectly reasonable for the price you pay, it was in great condition and very clean. For the price you pay for a room at this hotel, you're getting a great deal.

The staff is very good and friendly. The problem is the noise outside. They do not live to provide the right room for you to have no noise but if it coincides with Saturday is very difficult to sleep without caps for the bars around or the concerts that are organized.
The staff and the customer service is great, the bed correct and quite comfortable. If you are accustomed to sleep in any situation is perfect.

I have stayed and am staying in this hotel on a regular basis. I have tried lots of the rooms. Family rooms are great but too noisy due to the nightclub opposite. Single room on the quite side are the best. This stay we were put in room 209 which has an adjoining door where you can hear next door really easily. We had to switch rooms on Friday night. The next door neighbors were up for a big night with music etc. We were off to bed at 10:30pm. When I next stay can I have an end of the corridor with out an adjoining room please.

I stayed in a twin room with a colleague who I have been friends with for years. The twin room was a little more compact than I was expecting less than 6inches between the two beds. If we had not been such good friends it may have been a little uncomfortable. The room itself was fine. Very basic but just what I would expect for a IBIS budget hotel. The reception greeting was relaxed and efficient. The decoration was actually much nicer than the IBIS styles at the NEC/Airport. The lady that greeted us for breakfast each morning was extremely welcoming. Very friendly and helpful. When she wished us well for the day it was like your mum giving you a bright and cheery send off — lovely. Wish I got her name as I would have recommended her.

The room I was in had not been hoovered. There was white powder on the carpet next to the bed and a black bra strap left on the floor under the TV. The cleaners obviously don't look at the floor! I had booked and prepaid my room using a company credit card. When I arrived to check in I was told that as I did not have the card I paid with it would have to be refunded and I pay with my own personal card. I would not have minded this too much, but I specifically requested evidence that the company card had been refunded and this was not provided. This could easily have been emailed to me with my new invoice. The room was also far too warm at night even with the air con on. I could not open the window as there was too much noise from the bars and nightclub below. Better air con is needed. The service and food available at breakfast was good but overall the reception staff had an attitude and the room was dirty so I would not recommend this hotel.

I had actually booked another hotel, my flight was unfortunately delayed so I had unfortunately no possibility to change euros in pounds (credit card I do not own), so I was not allowed to check in the other hotel because I do not have pounds Had. Thanks to Gabriele for having clarified this with the manager that I could still stay with you, even though I only had "euros", I would not know what else I would have done, a big praise to "gabriele"! The rooms were very clean and modern. What I personally found beautiful is that it was very quiet. Gladly again.

Check in was easy but a little confusing, no real front desk meant that I was wandering around trying to work where the desk to sign in was. Once I worked it out, it was really simple to get checked via staff with their mobile devices. The room was clean and comfy. One plug socket didn't work but it really didn't effect my stay. Breakfast was a little expensive so I went else where. Nice central location with lots of places to eat and drink around. Having staff around and visible 24 hrs made me feel really safe esp as a business woman travelling alone.

2 very difficult nights caused by very noisy neighbors and uninsulated rooms.
Doors slamming all the time.
Lunch and dinner are a disaster.
I left tired and I was anxious to leave the hotel!

The hotel looks extremely modern when you walk in no check in desk so gives a much more relaxed feeling. The room itself was ok but it was so hot I had to sleep with the window open for the whole time I was there. The 'cooling' unit looked like it had come from the 1980s and didn't work at all. Sleeping with the window open had its faults as it let all that Noise that you'd expect to hear from a busy city into the room. The bed was nice and comfortable. I have to say the pillows were amazing because normally when you go to a place like this you get flat little pillows but these were perfect. I was attending a course that was at the hotel and we had food and snacks provided and I must say hats off to the chef because that food was fantastic. Warm pastries for morning break with amazing smoothies and then such an amazing lunch with fantastic choice. I was well and truly full after the 4 days. The only reason I didn't score the place higher was because of the hot room/dodgy cooling system. If that get sorted this place will b amazing to stay at.

The stay in your house was very nice. Very friendly staff. The weekend is a bit noisy. But it was created with double windows Remedy.

The reception was very friendly — unfortunately I was treated by an employee absolutely rude and insulting, outside of any tolerance limit for reasonable manners towards a guest…

Overall I was very happy with my stay. The room was spotlessly clean, staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was superb with a very helpful lady clearing tables, keeping the whole area spotlessly clean, she also took time to check on guests dining (she was superb). Check out was effortless. Location was excellent for what I needed. Excellent hotel with brilliant staff.

I must say that this year things have gone well after last year I was not satisfied. Now we are back to the usual levels.

Very friendly staff. Upon entering we were surprised that there is not the typical hotel reception. Instead there is a small space without counter to attend and collect. The room was very nice and the rooms were very good. Comfy beds. Cleanliness very well. Breakfast buffet Right, with the basics, could be missing a bit of assortment.

Totally non-professional Reception I had to wait to check in as she was talking to friends at the bar, plus I took a last minute on your site (30 minutes before the "arrived in the facility) the rate was higher than 15 pounds of that sold in Hotel.

Really nice hotel, which was surprising as it is a budget hotel generally! Really nice bar and food downstairs and breakfast was included. Location wise there is a small complex of bars and food around the corner and it is close to a lot of Chinese restaurants.

I have stayed here before so know what to expect and I was not disappointed. The Wi-Fi is excellent, the room clean, and the bed very comfortable. The shower is also nice and powerful.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. My mate ordered a double bed, we asked if we could change and it was done with no issues. Room was clean and well maintained. Really good stay.

I stayed for one night. The service was excellent and the facilities were sufficient for my needs. The bed was soft. The room was too hot though and I had to have my windows open constantly.

Stayed overnight as part of a work conference. Room was very clean and bed surprisingly comfortable. Breakfast in the morning had a lovely variety. Would definitely stay there again. Within walking distance of the bull ring.

Clean Hotel in very good location. Downtown is well within walking distance. Directly opposite lies Chinatown, with very good Restaurants. Rooms to the Rear can something be louder, since in the (very nice) "backyard, " a nightclub is located. Breakfast English and Continental. Staff is friendly. Underground car Park very tight and with a limited number of spaces. Bathroom small but functional.

The only good thing about it was its only a few minutes walk from the centre. The lift wasnt working, for the money we payed for one night the room was very basic and small, the shower room was very small thankfully im not a big person, I found it difficult to get ready in the bathroom nowhere to put clothes the shower leaked through the door and floor near toilet all wet. I understand being in the centre it is going to be noisy but some sort of sound proofing needs, also being on the second floor the windows needs to be frosted or something as curtains had to be shut for privacy.

Shower wasn't that good water come out slow but on the whole bed was comfortable.

What a shame the hotel were experiencing some technical problems during my stay — only one lift working and the security panels on the doors to each floor not working. Because in all other areas this was a good, very convenient place to stay. The lobby / bar area was spacious, clean and bright. The staff friendly and welcoming. The room clean and bright. The location of the hotel is so convenient too — 5 minutes walk from New Street station, The Bullring practically at the end of the street, The Hippodrome just around the corner and overlooking the busy Arcadian Centre. At the end of a busy day it was great to only have to walk across the square from the Glee Club straight into the hotel lobby. I just hope it will be easier to get to my room next time I stay.

I thought this was a really excellent place to stay. It was central, surprisingly quiet (to be fair I was quite high up) and the staff were unusually helpful and friendly. The room was clean and spacious and, as a single woman, I felt completely safe. I have a feeling the place has been recently refurbished — if not, I really can't understand the poor reviews. I was there for two nights for a conference and I would definitely stay there again. I didn't have breakfast as the price seemed a bit steep.

I like it. It's not your RadBlue, but it is cost effective, clean and just ok for a short stay.

The staff in Hotel Ibis helped my stranded daughter and her friend last night, I can not thank them enough for their kindness and caring, I really do not know what would of happened to them if the staff had not looked after them. A big thank you from a very grateful mom.

Perfect for a stay in the centre of Birmingham. Excellent people work here and cannot do enough for you. The double we had was clean and a credit to the hotel and we had no issues at all. The breakfast was great value and we were well looked after by the lady in charge. Being on a motorcycle the secure underground parking was a major benefit knowing the bike was safe. The proximity to the main shops is worth every penny and the fact Chinatown is next to the hotel is also a bonus for late evening diners. Will certainly stay here again.
