Lovely place! Had such a great morning including gym and swimming followed by breakfast! A great variety of breakfast choices! I would definitely go again!

Immaculately clean room. Plenty of things to do on site which is a good thing as the city is a fair distance away. (£3, 75 for a pint of coke makes a taxi elsewhere seem the order of the day). Yes it was hot but no ventilation, save restricted window opening, is not really acceptable in this day and age. Would I stay here again? Most definitely but not in summer.

Hotel is in an office estate so not much to explore in the surrounding area but there is a gym and a pool. The bedrooms were clean and had a really comfortable bed. Large sky telly and free Wi-Fi. Good breakfast. I would go back.

Everything was perfect! The rooms were beautiful, interiors awesome! Food Muwah! Love love. Haley the front seat host is amazing. Help with the best room for our kids and gave us tourism advise about the dinosaurs museum for the kids!

The location is great for me but the traffic around the hotel in peak times is really busy. Plan your journey well to avoid. The gym and pool were both great and more than I expected. The room was great although the sky TV worked when it wanted to. I would use again.

On a business park, but a great hotel with fantastic gym and pool. We did two free fitness classes too. Back massage was £32. Great meal in restaurant. Coffee in the Starbucks. Would go again.

We stopped here last year for the night in the cabin suite (? ). The room was lovely, massive bed, massive TV with full Sky and a coffee machine to go with it. The bathroom was just as nice and the only thing keeping this from 5 stars. The money I paid for the room I would have preferred a bath but instead we had a rainfall shower, I'm not saying it was bad it was far from it, if it had somewhere to sit during the shower I would have forgiven the lack of bath. Also if you are facing the back of the hotel keep your windows shut, the allotment roosters and chickens weren't exactly quiet All in all excellent stop would definitely go back!

Great hotel lovely modern room with all the mod cons and a kettle if you ask. Nice bar to eat in at night with a good atmosphere. And a lovely Italian restaurant if you want a step up from the bar. There a great pool and gym facilities. Opposite the hotel there is some heath land if you want to take in some country walks. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

Lovely comfortable looking hotel that I would recommend. I was supporting a works function so had access to facilities provided to businesses such as projector and screen to set up etc. Staff were very friendly and also helped where they could from set up to getting equipment in from the van. Only downside of the venue was that the walls between our venue and the gym/other function were not soundproof. This resulted in a lot of background noise while our speakers were up front and centre.

A lovely hotel with such warm welcoming staff. The food is really nice. The bedrooms are clean and well maintained. The staff are always around and willing to help. I will definitely stay here again.

Love staying at this hotel, the rooms are comfortable, the food is outstanding and the staff are very helpful. Haley on the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay perfect after a tiny blip. Would recommend to everyone!

We celebrated my wife's birthday and we had a fantastic time. Great room, nice and clean and nice large TV. The staff were first rate from walking into the hotel at the reception to the swimming pool and restaurant. The food was great in the restaurant and all in all a very enjoyable stay, we would definitely return.

Great stay in the hotel. The pool facilities are great though quite busy with scheduled activities. Gym was very good with more than enough equipment. Visited Buca restaurant which was lovely and used the Starbucks in the lobby on both days for breakfast.

Disappointing. Did Not Provide Service Paid For. Purchased a voucher for 12 days use of the gym and spa. Came to claim the voucher and was told they did not do this anymore and they could only give me a 3 day pass. This is rubbish. If you have paid for 12 days you expect to receive that, not 3 days. I was told this was due to some internal change with the companies who did the vouchers and that they were no longer associated with them. Sorry but I could not care less. I have paid for a voucher (in that hotel) and so I expect them to honor it. Especially as I had contacted the hotel at the time of getting the voucher and ask when the voucher expired. I was told it did not expire. Frankly I felt the way I was treated by the manager of the membership team was off hand. I emailed the hotel to say how unhappy I was and they never bothered to respond. This is poor customer service. I would advise people not to purchase any voucher from the hotel. Decided to join a different gym as I did not like the way I was treated.

Victory Bar — staff exceptionally helpful and cheerful. Great afternoon watching football. Red card offers and good selection of food.

Joined the gym this month (Dec 17). Staff are excellent so far. Facilities include 25m Pool and a well equipped gym. Separate rooms for spinning and other classes. Plenty of adult only swimming times to avoid kids.

Great place for an after work beer… food is good and has provided the setting for many a great evening. Not as expensive as you might think with it been a chain hotel. Location is also great for local business and facilities into Newcastle city centre and surrounding towns.

Very nice hotel and very friendly and helpful staff. We arrived later than expected (11pm) and got upgraded to a club room (50''+ TV and free access to sport hall). There are 2 restaurants and 1 Starbucks in the hotel. One of the restaurant is more pub like with plenty of screens to watch live sports, the other one is an Italian restaurant (note: no pizzas) with a very impressive decor (see pics). Food is OK, and my daughter got a kid activity pack every time we ate at the restaurants there. The sport hall is very comprehensive: yoga classes, swimming pool and weights area (be aware that there are classes in the pool and in very therefore not always accessible). Ample parking in front and back of hotel, however it can get a bit busy during the day and at week ends due to the sport hall and events (weddings, etc…). Overall, very happy with experience there, definitely recommended.

I stay in village hotels as often as I can and this one was a good as the others. My one small issue was for the fact I was in one of the upper deck rooms there was no lighting over or by the bed. Other than that it was warm, comfy with a warm welcome from the staff.

I came again to this hotel for a jazz festival. The hotel prices were outrageous. More than doubled for this event. Our after party jam sessions were held in the pub, which this year were forced to end at 1 am. Sunday night went late with still about 40 people in the pub drinking. A night manager rudely ended the session by giving the throat cut sign to the piano player and we were all forced out into the lobby. I travel thousands of miles and probably spent 800 pounds over 3 days in this hotel to enjoy this festival. Next year, I will stay elsewhere, and will mention this to my fellow patrons. I t is also impossible to sleep late as all the room doors are set to slam shut, so a cacophony of slamming heralds the arrival of every day.

Brilliant Stay, Great Helpful Attentive Staff! Cannot fault this place, we were working in the area and needed to stop overnight, we paid for the upgrade to club rooms and wasn't dissapointed, large screen TV and Sky food in the pub area at the evening was fantastic and breakfast had a huge selection. If all village hotels are the same standard as this we will be using them whenever possible.

My partner and I booked room in order to attend an event elsewhere. We returned to the hotel about 12.30 intending to get a drink and take to our room. There were lots of people still in bar (quite noisy) As we stood at bar the barmaid said were closing as two parties in were too noisy (we stated were not with parties were residents going to room) we asked if could take a drink to room and she said no closed. Were not in fact closed as she had just said closing. When we asked if could have room service we were told ask night porter. Couldnt see night porter but then he appeared. We asked if could possibly order drink for room. Told room service ended 10pm. We paid over £100 for one night and am appalled we couldn't get a drink in our room! Not happy with attitude of bar staff or two night porters … very poor show.

We stayed here for my partner's birthday and I got the "village Fridays" deal for £69 which included a 2 course evening meal, a glass of prosecco each and a nights stay for two. I upgraded to the club room for a further £20 which included an extra comfy bed (and they are extremely comfortable) spa access and sky TV so we could settle and watch a film after tea. This is still an excellent deal given the Friday night stay. The food was excellent, we decided to share a starter of garlic bread and a dessert of chocolate fudge cake which was lovely. We both had the minute steak as a £5 extra but as thin as a minute steak is, it was well cooked. Service through tea was a little slow given the room was not full but it didn't spoil the night. Check in was very easy using my surname on the computer I was able to register a room card myself. The club rooms have new furniture with a retro style which looks fantastic. We did not use the spa facilities this time but we have in the past. The pool is fantastic and spacious enough for a relaxing swim. All in all we had a great time here again and will certainly be back again.

Nice hotel and nice room. The double room I booked as just two single beds I ended up having to push together. Room was clean even if a little bit worn in places. No reception either so it is self service check in and out. Well located for what I needed.

Been a member at the gym since about 2012. Has recently been re-fitted and has friendly staff. Good equipment in the gym, rarely find any machines out of order. The pool is a good size at 25m and although it can get busy I can always manage to get the number of lengths in I planned. Sauna and Steam Room are both a reasonable size so you can always find a spot to sit. As far as the hotel goes, I have never stayed myself but relatives who have stayed always seem happy enough.

Fantastic, my sister held her wedding here. The staff could not help more. Especially the wedding staff and there was one amazing girl in the Italian restaurant, she took the time to talk to the children and made their experience amazing! Absolutely top class service!

My wife & I had a very relaxing morning today by the pool, spa treatments and then a spot of lunch. Very friendly and professional staff in all areas of the hotel! Can't wait until my next spa treatments! Highly recommended!

The village hotel Newcastle is a nice place, it's got a great gym and spa. It feels modern and clean. The new self service check in system was a nightmare for me. It never found my booking and then I had to find a staff member when I then had to cut my visit short. Other wish a great place.

Had a fantastic stay. We booked a family room and what a perfect size. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay again. When we're next in Newcastle.

We had a meal in the victory pub with a large group of our family and we were more than happy with food that was available. The latest menu is perhaps not as good as the previous, but if you're happy with basically a burger it's good enough. Staff were all friendly and helpful and there was some live music on that while good, wasn't suited to us as we wanted to catch up with family. Fortunately there's quieter space in the lobby so no problems there.

Stayed in a club room, not sure if they just display their new towels in a strange way (on hooks on the bathroom door) or they hadn't been replaced but we asked for more just in case. The room was spacious and the bed super comfy. There was no air con but a table fan which was good as it was very hot in the room. There was a posh coffee machine that had pods for Cappuccino etc but no standard kettle and no hot chocolate or even biscuits? That was no good for us as we don't drink tea or coffee — we always take hot chocolate sachets with us but couldn't make them as there was no kettle. Good for coffee drinkers but like I say not for us. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful but we had issues as we were told that my card was linked to the room when we checked in when in fact it wasn't so we couldn't charge drinks or room service to the room and had our film interrupted traveling up and down to pay for things or answer the door and phone to people chasing payments rather than trusting us to pay on departure. Food and drinks expensive for what they are. An ok stay but nowhere near as relaxing as it should have been.

The check in service looked fancy but sometimes good old fashioned face to face is better rather than a computer system. The rooms are lovely if you stay in a club room and has almost everything you need, although I would of rather had a kettle than a coffee machine but I can understand the reason behind having it. Overall a good hotel but would like to see the check in/reception go back.

Nice Hotel. Comfortable, Good Staff, Coffee machines in Rooms if you know how to use them… we asked for Kettle & it was brought to room within 2 minutes. very Popular Hotel. Definitely will stay there again.

Good atmosphere, clean rooms and ever so friendly staff. Rooms clean and good quality. Excellent pool and spa. Noisy on a Friday night due to events that were on. Excellent value since we booked during their sale price. All in very good.

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel — a chain may not have local charm, but it had high standards and a good range of services. Self check-in was easy, the pool and spa facilities were excellent, and the room was very comfortable. Add in an on-line coffee shop (with a good range of dairy alternatives) and you're all set. The only odd moment was when a cleaner tried to enter the room before checkout time and without the 'Come in' notice on the handle, but I assume this was a blip.

Village Hotel Spa Day We were welcomed to the hotel and shown where to go. When we got to the spa area we were given forms to complete and the lunch menu. (When we booked we were told we would get afternoon tea). We were then given our towels and robes and off we went to change. The facilities were all clean and lovely. There was only one private changing room that I saw. We entered the pool area which is fairly big. There were children's swimming sessions going on and members swimming. There were not a lot of sunbeds to lie on. (I think there should have been more sunbeds and an area seperated for spa day clients. ). We all enjoyed our treatments, facials and massages and were very relaxed. Although it could have been a little warmer in my room. We then went for our lunch, the girl who booked this had already been to the front desk to ask why we had been given the menu we had as we had paid for afternoon tea. We were given extra food and wine as we had not been told of the changes and then they gave us a goody bag when we left. We had a really good day and would do it again. Just please change the music from the constant loop of waves to some nice Thai music or Irish pipe music.

Professional event staff are excellent; all of the catering staff knew what was going on and were able to resolve my queries without having to 'phone a friend', which saves me time. One query was quickly resolved. Food fresh and tasty, space with plenty of daylight and welcoming. Event went well.

Stayed for nearly 5 months just because it's next to client office out of city. Not great hotel for the price. Stinky carpets. Most rooms have either shower or hot water problem. Exorbitant rates for the mediocre food they serve in the restaurant and bar.

We attended the village hotel for my mother in laws 60th birthday. We booked for a spa, the spa staff were friendly and the treatments were fabulous. We were also able to use the facilities of pool, sauna, steam room etc. The sauna and steam room were a good size. However the pool area and water were cold. Following our spa we went for food in the pub/restaurant. Again the staff were friendly and provided us with great service. The food was also great and arrived promptly.

Stayed in the Newcastle hotel on Sunday 27th March. I loved the hotel. The food is the restaurant is ace and the staff were super helpful. I've already booked another stay but at a different location.

Worst night ever Booked for Micheal Buble Tribute with meal £35 pp, They never informed anyone that they changed it to party night, food was like school dinners of old, Bottle of cheap plonk £20 total rip of from start to finish. If there was choice of minus stars that's what I would give. Total rubbish & nobody in management gave a hoot.

Me and my wife went for a lovely night Lastnight. What a fantastic time we had the staff were fantastic with us nice and friendly as we r not drinkers they bent over backwards to accommodate us. The facilities were great next time we will get treatments (don't tell the wife it will be a surprise for her). The food was fantastic in the bar and the restaurant. We couldn't of asked for anything more thank you for a great stay. Keep up the good work will recommend to family and friends.

Went for a spar massage bought for my birthday. My Daughter and I waited around for about 20 mins. Along with other customers, wondering why no one was on the reception. We twice asked other staff from the Hotel about this, and eventually two receptionists showed up, they did not apologise for our wait and were even nonchalant. Not a good start to what was supposed to be a treat. My Daughter had a full body massage, When she came out she said "I am ready for a PROPER massage now" And I have to say my experience was nothing to write home about. Very disappointing. We have been for similar treatments elsewhere and recommend it.

This is a review of The Public House bar specifically, which resides inside this hotel. I grabbed a bit of food here while I waited for my car to be serviced at a garage nearby. Service was fine and it seemed like a nice enough place to sit, eat and watch the TV. The price was average. The food was problematic though. I had a steak club sandwich. I wasn't asked how I would like my steak done, but it appeared to vary depending on which triangle of sandwich I was eating, ranging from almost raw in one, to very well done in another. It tasted fine, but they really need to sort the meat out. Fries were nice.

Unfortunately would not allow me to leave zero stars. I have been a member of this hotel for several years now and their level of customer/member service has declined dramatically over the past year or so. It is a disgrace how they treat their members. They need to train their staff to ensure that what they tell their members is correct. For what we pay. Shocking service! Do not become a member. I've heard other branches of the village are good, it must just be the Newcastle one.

My niece stayed there on sunday 5th oct in room 662 I believe, it was her honeymoon present from a family member, the room stank to high heaven and she was overcharged 20.00 for the room, on complaining they sent a chap with air freshener. Sorry not good enough, she said it was obviously a drainage problem, the staff were no help at all, I shall be stopping off tonight to complain the attitude was put it in writing, all of our family go on mothers day and boxing day, I do not think I will frequent the place again. Rang this morning, there is nobody available in charge, how ridiculous, vicky simpson, not available, or a girl called kelly, spoke to a girl called katy, nobody available to complain too. How is that for non service.

Dear reader this is not my correct name but our stay at this establishment was like something out of a comic cartoon. The owners of this hotel rate it 4 star but if the ETB were to rate the establishment it would not attain 2 stars, ironing board, iron and hair dryer do not make for a top end hotel. Breakfast is served buffet style, if you like food that has been left over warmers for ages to dry out this is the place to come. The Continental option is no better, no cheeses or ham only stale Danish Pastries and croissants. The fresh fruit salad at breakfast was good and the beds are comfortable. Don't bother eating in the Italian Restaurant they serve fish that is not fully thawed out before char grilling, not an authentic Italian there are a lot nicer places to eat out.

The Good: A solid hotel for the price. Awesome gym and pool area! Very nice restaurant and a Starbucks. The room was clean and there was a good iron and free Wi-Fi Standard Breakfast The Bad: Staff were not very attentive especially in the restaurant. They were very slow, which is a shame as the food is spot on and the way it's kitted out is great. There was a flapping sound from a vent outside my room all night which annoyed me. All rooms should be of the 'upper deck' spec.

Awful hotel. For the money we paid, I would of expected a better place then this. I thought the staff were robotic and had no personality. The TV in our room was pointless as all the channels were badly static and almost unwatchable. The Wi-Fi was pointless as I had a bit of work to do and had to upload a video for my boss and it took over a hour to upload a 50 second video. The breakfast was one of the worst I had. I ate half a sausage and it made me feel sick for the rest of the day (I was going Go-karting after so this wasn't ideal at all) I thought the Victor Pub and Kitchen was dirty and rubbish. I had the Beef, Mushroom Ale pie and it was just a Stew with a paste on top. The Veg that came with it was boiled for too long and was soggy. The beer and cider they offered was flat as well. Overall, it was a very bad trip. Would not recommend to anyone or visit again.

1. On Sunday has been a hell, children, dogs, pints a pound and live music.
2. The restaurant da laughter, a large bowl of spaghetti a la Bolognese €26, with a salad, I ask for a salad cesar telling me that is for one person only dish arrives and I think for the price, and they appear with a small bowl of lettuce 1 variety with 3 (numbered) bread Bacon and cheese on top.
3. The fourth decorated very modern, but full of dust, and no refrigerator, that Yes, a brand new Bible in a drawer, not going to need it.

On the other hand after testing the spa, pool, sauna. And it is a very important point which makes you ask to return. You also have access to classes like yoga, pilates, body combat.
