This hotel is a very lovely and peaceful hotel. The downside to this hotel is WiF and in my case my company did not have breakfast included as part of my company package, but this is outweighed by the countryside behind and around it. This is definitely a great quiet place to stay. It has a family garden pub included.

It's always a pleasure to eat here. Everything my husband and I have tried has been, without exception, absolutely delicious. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they are always there to advise on the menu and are extremely knowledgeable. Super wine list, beers & ales and non-alcoholic drinks are sure to please everyone. There's a huge beer garden and car park with a nature trail nearby for the more adventurous. We go here quite a lot.

Lovely setting for inside or outside drinks and meals. Took a while to get served but food was fresh and nice so not that bothered.

If I have to moan about anything it would be the length of time the food got to us. However when it came it was awesome so obviously the time taken was irrelevant. Staff were brilliant. One of them was giving us a brief history of the place which was brilliant. Thinking about a stay over next time it was that good.

Starter was great, Pig-inYorkie, but the mixed grill main was a let down. The steak was spot on, however everything else on the mixed grill was let down. It was either dry or 'warm' and the triple cooked were frozen chips fried three times over, which again were dry and tasted as if they had been cooked in old and drity oil. I also had some black sludge in my pint, however the bar person did exchange this for a glass of cola as I was driving. Overall a mixed experience, wish I could mark 2.5 stars, it was a case of deco and surroundings over substance. However, all the staff were friendly, polite and very well mannered.

Have been several times and the food and service is always very good, with plenty to choose from on the menue. On 18th May we came with family for a meal and stayed the night. It was lovely, the food was good and service of staff was brilliant. The room we stayed in was No 5, has a four poster bed and lovely views, was very clean, comfortable and has everything you nèed. On the morning we made a mistake by believing that breakfast finished at 10:00 hrs instead of 9 on weekdays, this was not a problem and the staff made us very welcome to stay for breakfast and was not rushed. Had a great time and would highly recommend a visit.

Nice beer garden with yew trees. Countryside but close to earn valley. Beer was good.

Lovely food and very good service. Large car park and plenty of tables outside for this lovely warm weather.

We called to the Ravensworth Arms for an early evening meal after a lovely day out. We had been there on several occasions and the service and food was of a good standard. However this time I was very didappointed as both the service and food fell well below standard. We were shown to a table but waited ages for a menu and then another long wait for our order to be taken. My husband eventually ordered at the bar although we were seated in the restaurant. When the food came (we both ordered steak) my food was overcooked. How can you overcook a baked potato?. I had asked for steak to be well done but I could hardly cut even with a steak knife. When asked TWICE if the food was ok I said no it wasn't but the answer to that was Oh Sorry. I was very disappointed so we may reconsider going back again I hope to get a reply to this information but I won't hold my breath.

Lovely pub. Really nice food but the service is slow. Took nearly 3/4 of an hour to get our Sunday dinner. The staff were lovely, but could you not do with maybe one or two more?

The staff are so helpful and the food was excellent well done to the Chef we will recommend the Ravensworth to our friends. The young man that served us was very professional and made us feel very welcome.

Food was really nice. Drinks were reasonably priced. Food came out quick after we placed our order. Maybe a little too quick. The bar staff were really friendly but they got our drinks wrong but we're friendly when we corrected them.

Ordered calamari starter and came out with three bits of it. Ate it in under a minute. Wife had pate which she said was OK. I had a burger which was nice but cold chips. Wife had steak and ale pie which must have been under a heat light for half it's life. Again cold chips. All in all very poor and won't be back as I've read elsewhere this is about the norm.

Really nice staff and lovley food, always enjoy the drinks too. Nice beer garden and the decked area is smoke free which I like. Only problem is I don't live close enough!

I love this place. There's a nice class of people who frequent this place. The food is of a good quality and a little arty, although slightly pricy. But overall I highly recommend this pub.

Most friendly waitress ever, looked after 5 of us plus two toddler's brilliantly, extra drinks and stuff for little ones, arrived without even asking. Will be back. Thanks.

Family party of 8 so large order. Wasn't too impressed with my fish pieces! and there were bits n pieces missed of nearly all our plates. All inn all, food was tasty and hot. Waitress service was terrific. Will return.

Sunday lunch was nice if not too warm. Lovely big yorkie and plenty turkey but not a lot of veg. Mum had kid's portion which was more than enough 4 her. Nice atmosphere, plenty of parking and pleasant staff.

Went for a meal for our anniversary. Been many times before and always been satisfied. Last night I was quite disappointed with the meals. Poor presentation and when I raised a concern with a mangers, I was dismissed with her saying thats the same as it always is. Won't be going back in a hurry.

Very enjoyable… have some good discount deals on… would be better if they did home made chips.

Spent a night here, nice food & beer, accomodation warm and comfortable, staff friendly & helpfull.

Amazing food. The sausage and mash is the best I have ever had. The gammon was also amazing. The steaks are to die for. One of my favourite places to eat. You have the choice of eating in the dining room or the bar area. The price is no different but the dining room is watteess service. Beautiful building and in a scenic area. Lovely to go on a warm summer evening and sit outside.

Nice decor but over priced very poor food. Food is no better than a hungry horse or sizzling grill but at least with those you get what you pay for. Service not good asked for sauces which never arrived and no one came to check if meal ok. Would definitely not eat there again. Shame as it could be an excellent eating place if food matched up to decor and ambiance.

Smart place, country setting, nice beer and food. Rooms are well priced and comfortable. Great place for access to all North east attractions and locations.

The hotel has about 20 rooms attached to the pub; the pub is the main part of the business. The rooms are in two separate buildings that appear to be converted stables or cottages. All are neat amd comfortable with usual en-suite facilities. Quiet location, handily close to Team Valley, and Gateshead centre. Even city buses come out here. Frienly and very helpful staff.

A shining light, great location, good food /price super staff, top of my list fo regular visits, THANKS to the first class staff, location and attitude of staff is paramount, they were top notch when we visited!

Excellent food, very reasonably priced, attentive staff, we only found wheelchair access to one part of the restaurant due to steps, but it wasn't a major problem as there were plenty of tables. Will definitely visit again.

Good pub in a nice location, my first visit in 15 year's, a lot bigger now, but still has the same warm atmosphere. A good choice of beer's and what looks like a good menu, although I didn't take the opportunity to eat on this visit. Will definitely visit again, and maybe this time try something off the menu.

Poor quality food with terrible service, waited that long for after dinner coffee we just left without it. This is one and a half hours of my life I'll never get back.

Very enjoyable I had the turkey roast dinner, loads turkey, potatoes and veg daughter had the beef which was just as good. Husband and son in law had rump steak and they both though was good a very enjoyable father's day meal for my husband. Would recommend this restaurant.

We have used this restaurant a few times and never been disappointed. The food is excellent and the serving staff are very helpful and pleasant, especially Bettina. The evening specials are great value. It is also a good idea to register for their emails and get free starters or puddings. Overall worth a visit.

Nice food, chilled atmosphere in a nice historic public house. Lots of outdoor seating for when the weather is good.

Brilliant bar staff but slow service waited a long while for starters to be taken away which has delayed me and partner receiving our mains. Staff seem to be standing around and leaving tables still full of plates. Overall beautiful surroundings but won't go again.

Stayed here for two nights having moved on from another place that we couldn't abide any longer! What a lovely warm, clean & nicely decorated room. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. We will definitely return. Thank you to everyone involved in running this establishment.

Beautiful looking modern rustic pub. The majority of staff are pleasant however one did let the team down and wasn't very welcoming.

My wife and I visited for lunch, off the back of a Camelot/ Chef Brewer £5 voucher. Very friendly service, enthusiastic waitress. Good menu choice ;, Had cod and chips; the fish was huge, though the chips were not chunky and obviously cooked from frozen (Ok though). Had Wylam Gold Tankard which was in excellent condition, although had to wait for the 3rd pint as no one behind the bar. Would go back again; plenty of seats outside so would be good in the summer.

Great food and drinks. Love the home grown menu they do with British specialities.

It's a very nice place. The meal was nice but you didn't get much for your twenty pounds. The steak was small and you only got a portion of chips and thats it. It just looked a bit on the sparce side. I was still hungry afterwards. Lovely place though but buy a cheaper meal.

Great little pub which is tucked away so you wouldn't pass it by chance but it always seems to be popular so must have a good reputation. The menu choice was quite varied and I went for the Cumberland sausage with mash and it was lovely. The staff were friendly and the pub itself is quite quaint. I've been told that the place has recently had a revamp so have it on my list to revisit at some stage in the future.

Recently re-opened after refurbishment. A while since I've been. Before, it was good, now it is fantastic. Food was excellent. The staff were great. Our waitress was so nice and very attentive. She actually made the night for me. One of the best meals out I've had in a long time.
