Nice friendly hotel good value and great restaurant all staff really helpful will definitely stay again.

Spent 2 nights in this hotel and was thoroughly impressed,
The room was spotless and well presented and the staff excellent and very accommodating.
Breakfast was included and it was all very fresh and cooked superbly.
Only one small criticism is not enough plug or usb points in the room.
Will definitely be looking for a room next time in Newcastle.

I was given a double room upgrade on my single booking thank you. Facilities are quite good, and staff pleasant. Location is quiet and very close to lovely Jesmond Dene. There is not much parking. On a night with temperatures down to 8 degrees, there was no heating, and room 27 was not much warmer. Staff were sympathetic about my miserable night, and plenty of hot coffee and a delicious breakfast were forthcoming. Promised room heating for my shower did not materialise, pity.

The hotel is basic but clean, the staff are extreamily friendly and helpful. Could deff go again.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning the Staff are so friendly and can’t do enough to help you and make you feel welcome the breakfast is amazing and the location is really good too. The rooms are clean and modern. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in!

Perfect hotel for any parents visiting their little darlings at Newcastle (or Northumbria) University. Ideal location and great value for clean, unfussy, comfortable rooms. Very helpful staff complete the package.

My sister and me stayed at the Dene Hotel last Saturday for the Ed Sheeran and we really could not rate this place enough, the staff were very friendly and attentive! The room was lovely, clean and tidy, light and airy. The beds were conformatable and the bathroom were light and airy with great showers. Breakfast was fab, perfectly cooked, fresh food! Did I say the staff were awesome! The best service I have recieved in a hotel ever! I highly recommend staying here to everybody!

What a fantastic stay we had at the Dene Hotel. Great location. 10 mins from west jestmond metro. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was bloody lovely. The staff were so helpful. We will be back!

Overnight stay at the Dene hotel whilst visiting friends in the area. The location is good, in Jesmond but far enough away from Osbourne road to avoid the late night Saturday noise! The room I stayed in was on the top floor and the main Room was dated but clean. Comfortable bed. The bathroom appeared more recently refurbished so was in a better condition, but the shower was not the best design with the water not contained as it is a wet room style install in a small area. Breakfast was good basic fry up with standard cereals and toast available. In summary, I booked the Dene as it was a cheap place to stay with breakfast included, and it was exactly what you would expect for this, and met this need well!

Lovely hotel, did everything it needed to and was top value for money. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Id recommend to anyone staying up in Newcastle for leisure or business. Only a 12 minute average pace walk to West Jesmond metro station which is 2 stops from the city centre and is cheap to use!

Fantastic budget hotel the staff were really nice and very helpful the room was lovely and the bed very comfortable, the bathroom was very clean and bright. The Caspian Turkish restaurant next door which could be entered through reception of the Dene Hotel was very handy too, I enjoyed the Chicken Dolman the Turkish waitress was very friendly My husband and myself will be returning again in the near future.

We arrived after midnight and were greeted on arrival by attentive staff. The single rooms are small, but pleasant and great value and mine had a lovely new shower suite although my friend's wasn't as new and nice. Breakfast was good including hot food that arrived promptly. The hotel had a lingering smokey smell that was difficult to locate (it didn't appear to come from the kitchen, perhaps guests have been smoked inside despite being asked not too). Parking was provided and Newcastle is small enough that a taxi into town on NYE still cost less than £7, so it suited us fine. Recommended if you are on a budget.

Quiet location but enough eating places and shops in short walking distance. Friendly and considerate staff. Clean rooms. Full english breakfast. Room is warm enough.

We stay here on a regular basis, always a friendly welcome and a good location for exploring Newcastle and surrounding area. Hotel is clean and breakfast is good. Love this place!

A huge thanks to the kind lady who checked me in. Extremely helpful ensuring I had all I need which was so very much appreciated after my long journey. Room light and airy with all you need and given the price I felt it was excellent value for money. Breakfast tasty and served by Emma who again was polite and friendly. However I was most unimpressed by the gentleman on duty on 2 of the evenings… Sat on a chair looking extremely dishevelled. It was obvious he either doesn't possess an iron or is unable to use one. Accompanied by a packet of cigarettes he portrayed a most unprofessional image. To make matters worse he left the premises so should there be an emergency or simply an enquiry or random requisition he was unavailable. Hope the management reads this as they should be aware.

The only thing that let it down was the plug hole in shower was full of hair. Other than that b gd value v nice man mike. Restant big portions n gd value if go back to newcastle again I wood stay there I give 7 out of 10 could of bean 8plus if the cleaner dune her job.

Really enjoyed staying here staff are so friendly and go out of their way to help you if needed and are so polite! Rooms are very clean and beds are very comfy showers fab! child friendly loved it! We will be back for sure thanks to all staff xx.

I booked this hotel after reading mostly positive reviews and was not disappointed. Having walked from the city I was pleased not to be on the Osbourne Road as it is very busy and noisy. My room on the 2nd floor was more than adequate, clean, tidy with tea/coffee facilities. The Metro is very close by as is a Tesco and buses run from Osbourne Road. Breakfast was ample and kept me going until mid-afternoon. Plenty to choose from (or not) and all staff with whom I spoke were extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel is currently being expanded but this did not impose on my stay. Would certainly book this again.

I have to say that if you are looking for great value for money then you can't go far wrong here. I've spent the last month trying out the other hotels in the area. None can beat this on Value for Money really. For £35 a night, you get a very clean room, power shower, free Wi-Fi (other hotels on the main Osbourne Road are chargining up to £8 for this). It's also away from the main Osbourne Road which can get quite noisy. Very friendly staff too. Perfect for anyone looking for a cheap hotel in the Newcastle Area.
