Was such a lovely experience, will definitely recommend! Our room was immaculate, the only downside is is that not ALL of the rooms have big fans, the rooms do get hot, but overall, was lovely🤩

Would highly recommend the food xx fish and chips and fish cakes amazing.

Stayed 1 night 27/12/2021. Lovely room with huge bed and usual en-suite and tea/coffee making facilities. Olde world hotel/pub. Excellent breakfast and lovely attentive and helpful staff. If travelling to Frome stay here. We will stay again.

Visited on Sunday with my teen daughter. We are both veggie and were impressed by the varied menu to suit all diets. Service was friendly and helpful — nothing was too much trouble. The food was quick to arrive, beautifully presented and great value for money. I had the veggie roast which was delicious and my daughter opted for the vegan burger. All in all, a great dining experience. Thank you. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for the night after a long day at Longleat. Excellent value for money and very friendly, helpful staff. Room clean and provide toiletries. Great that it has a restaurant on site so no hunting for somewhere to have dinner and good choice for breakfast, both cooked and continental. Would definitely stay here again.

We have just spent 4 wonderful nights here and it was all thanks to Vicky, nothing was ever to much trouble, she made us and my two children feel relaxed and made my son feel special on his 4th birthday. She is a real asset to this place.
The family room we stayed in was clean and comfortable and more spacious than some family rooms we have stayed in and breakfast was lovely 😀😀

Lovely friendly staff, nice food, nice rooms, the noise from the traffic is annoying but other than that you can’t fault the hotel especially at the price 👌

Just had a lovely 2 night stay at The George Hotel. The staff were all fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. The room (no 14) was perfect. Very clean and relaxing, plus it had a 4 poster bed!
We will visit again.

We are just about to leave the George and we will definitely be visiting again! Really helpful and friendly staff, lovely dinner and breakfast and just fantastic service overall. Our room was lovely; bed is super comfy and spacious. Very luck with the price being fairly cheap as well! 10/10

Only stayed one night… was seeing The Mission @ TC&G Nice old place with friendly staff in the bar.

Paul and I visited Frome for the day. Called in here for lunch. Very nice fish and chips and a good Malbec wine. What more can you ask for?

First class staff. Comfy bed. Great food and great beer. Who needs more.

The room was large, bright and airy. The staff were very friendly. Great nights sleep. Would stay here again.

Friendly, helpful staff & nice clean & comfy rooms. Good cooked breakfast, served hot & with plenty of coffee & toast. Recommend the scrambled egg. Would stay again. Parking is a bit awkward & tight but reasonable long stay carpark 5 minutes walk away.

The showers where cold, pillows a bit hard and there where too many stairs.
However the staff were really friendly.

We did not have hot water and were given another key to use the bathroom at the other end of hotel only to find others were using same bathroom … our rooms were tired in need of some refurbishing staff did try but after two days.

Came in a for a drink and I was greeted with a warm welcome and polite staff the young girl behind the bar was very nice and polite toward me. I believe her name was char so a big thank you to her :)

Food excellent (scampi, chips, peas) but a long wait despite it not being busy. Service at the bar a bit surly but table service fine.

Stopped off on way home good meal priced well.

This hotel was an excellent choice for lunch and as I was on a tight budget I chose from the small bites menu at £7.25 per meal which was fantastic and freshly made and completely delicious. There is a good range of choices to suit all diners and I would recommend this place to eat.

Quite the most dismal sandwich I have ever had. The bread was appalling and the response was — that's all we have got. Unpleasant place and unfriendly staff — truly awful.

The George Hotel epitomises just what is great about fantastic friendly service and value for money. The staff here are amazing — and really make you feel at home. I turned up to stay on a very busy Friday evening — I think the hotel was pretty well full.
The rooms are comfortable — and although ours maybe require a lick of paint to freshen up — everything is functional — and for just over £50 for a room and breakfast for 2 — hey I am definitely not complaining here! The bar is stocked with everything anybody would want including as would be expected being owned by Wadsworths brewery — great real ales.
I didn’t make a note of the young ladies name that gave us our last drink at 2330hrs and was there again serving breakfast at 0800hrs — now that is dedication — Henry was also a great host! I would rather stay here and get genuine friendly service — than a branded Hotel any time. Well done to all there — Wadsworths you have a gem and look after your staff — as they are certainly looking after you. It’s also an odds on certainty that I will be back. Fantastic Hotel — love it.

Couldn't get back to Warminster due to the bad weather so stopped of in Frome at the George hotel. The hospitality was above and beyond. The staff were extremely accommodating and very friendly, The room was a good size and well maintained and clean. We are now safely home.

The George is a little blessing … Lovely food at the pub below. Great bar staff, chatty full of beans and very happy. Perfect spot to mooch around the lovely town. The Breakfast was also very tasty. Ta very much.

Lovely place. The staff are a credit to the place. My room was well equipped and nicely decorated. Breakfast was really nice. I can recommend the pie for evening meal … yummy.

Really nice pub, really spacious, good comfortable furniture to sit on. Staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Food portions there are really sizeable. The menus are standard pub grub but I always leave satisfied. Drink choices are decent as well.

Much quieter in volume than other pubs nearby, makes it easy to have a conversation. The bar staff are also friendly. There is a live music venue it the back as well, but I have yet to see anything there.

We popped into the George for a drink after a Christmas meal in another pub, the place looked busy and seemed to have a good atmosphere but to be honest the strange odour put us off so we decided to go elsewhere.

Very poor Sunday lunch. Luke warm vegetables with a lot of water in the dish.

Staff disinterested, room big but windows very hard to open, and kitchen extractor seemed to be directly under our room meaning our room ended up smelling dreadful. No cold water, hair dryer didn't work, wires hanging out the ceiling next to a large hole. Major work going on in the corridors meaning we had to step over pulled up carpet and floorboards. Disappointing.

Nice pub with friendly staff. They brought a tuna sandwich instead of the cheese I ordered but the food was nice. Lovely frontage of flowers (pic. Is of a few of them) and a nice atmosphere. Nice toilets aswell on ground level which is quite important for my elderly mum and they smelled lovely which was a bonus.

Great location and good rooms. Breakfast turned up cold which was annoying when it states cooked to order. Apart from that very pleasant.

Came here quickly for one drink, second Pub visited in Frome, second visit to Frome. Too high to fit in any Pubs first trip, long story. Looks like an interesting building. Friendly staff member at the entrance, busy doing something to what looked like a display stand. Fast service at the Bar. Looked around, wandered into what I thought was the Beer Garden. Appeared to be primarily a staff break area, perhaps in the process of being smartened up. Nonetheless, the staff taking a break there let me stay, and it has nice seating on two levels. The building towers around it in an amusing way, which is probably the main reason why it isn't advertised. That I managed to strike up a conversation with the people there, tells me that part of my brain isn't dead yet — a skill which goes when you're too well-known in other areas. Centre of town, and offers accommodation too; would probably pick this as a place to stay if I return.

New Manager Matt turning the George hotel into a quality place to enjoy your day. Straight away standards have gone up and the George has again become a safe and nice place to bring your family good move.

Our first visit Sunday 24th September 2017 the two bar staff were very friendly but the manager I assume it was was very surly and very rude we ordered six meals and two starters the starters eventually arrived closely followed by the other four meals then to our surprise the two main meals also arrived a few minutes after the starters which had only just been placed on the table so we asked for them to be returned to the kitchen once the starters had been eaten the other two main courses were brought out again only after being left to keep warm (I assume) and the beef was like shoe leather when the girl she just said oh sorry and that was that so we definitely not be going back!

At the George hotel in Frome Somerset bath is a good place to eat and drink, food as lot of potential.

My partner and I stayed for one night on the bank holiday weekend, needless to say we wont be returning.
We were rather happy when we first arrived, until we had actually got into our room, what looked like pubic hairs all over the bathroom, damp everywhere to the point of the ceiling peeling. Massive cracks all down the side of the bath tub. The room was boiling all we had was a small fan blowing hot air and being on the top floor walking up several flights of stairs to a sauna pretty much wasn't nice.
The whole place from head to toe needs a makeover! Its falling apart. Breakfast was awful, 'help yourself to our fresh fruit' — grapes and tangerines (which looked as fresh as the socks I wore the day before — way past their expiry date) if we hadn't booked online and had to pay for it I most certainly wouldn't of, half of it missing, burnt toast, crappy coffee, extremely long wait, ect ect. Highly dissatisfied, do not recommend one bit!

Like a local. This is our local and we have been loving it for years. My choice for my wedding night and guests. Highly recommended!

I went in for a drink with friends. It was a quick and friendly service. The place had a nice quiet atmosphere which was perfect for relaxing and being able to chat.

A bit warm room. Nice bathroom, nice food. Only stayed for 1 night.

Reason why this is only ok is My wife and I have always had a good meal and fab service however tonight we waited a hour and 20 minutes for our main course to arrive. People who had entered after us and order after us had been served. We then got the meals we order which I may say tasted as good as always but once finished another 25 minute wait for plates to be cleared and catching the waiter to order desert. Once order we waited yet another 25 minutes and again when they came they tasted great. When we finished we set and waited to catch the waiter to pay the bill. In the end we got up and went to the bar and paid on Way out. We shall return as usually things go a lot smoother and we enough the food the pub itself is a fab place to go for a drink and a meal.

The staff were really friendly, a stay for two nights was £108, including free breakfast (Vegetarian and Gluten free available). The veggie breakfast is amazing. The coffee house, adjoining the hotel, called No. 5 is also a great place for a toasted ciabatta and a decent cuppa.
I strongly recommend a visit.

Visited the new café for a coffee, nice atmosphere, reasonable price and really like how they've decorated. Only criticisms are that when I ordered my coffees, the lady said to sit down and she would bring them over, but then instead sort of called to me to go back and collect them, we were only one of two couples in the café so not busy. Also our coffees were served in small glasses which was a bit odd.

Coffee House is a brilliant new addition to the George Hotel! Friendly atmosphere!

Lovely en-suite room fabulously comfortable bed and fine linen. All 6 of us loved our rooms and delicious breakfast. Dawn was delightful and nothing was too much bother. Ross was extremely helpful. We were very keen to rebook and the manager was extremely accomodating. Great value highly recommended.

Steeped in history with old photos of a yester year of Frome. Friendly atmosphere and well priced. Right in the middle of town, you can't go wrong.
