Fantastic meals here today, highly recommended, real home made chips are ace!

Two adults and two children had a beautiful meal each, and enjoyed every mouthful. The kids meal included a generous ice cream portion and a drink. The steak and ale pie is highly recommend.
Service was good, especially under the current COVID19 restrictions.
The play area was really popular with the kids.
We will be back again soon.

Just want to say thank you to all at the Friendly Spirit for a delicious Sunday roast. We are regulars now for the take away Sunday roast. The quality is always brilliant. And we just love being able to bring our meal back to the comfort of our home. During these difficult times.

Had a fish and chip takeaway tonight. Ordered over the phone, delivered to our house, Hot and fresh around 30/40 mins. Amazing service, great food. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommended.

Missed out on the fish and chips last night whilst still being away at work and wow! Wasn’t Disappointed 10 outta 10 again keep up the brilliant menu and service!

Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all at the friendly spirit last night.
Attention to detail was beautiful, the 5x course meal was fantastic, brilliant varied menu and cooked to perfection! Very attentive and polite staff. Pub was very busy and yet still nothing seemed to be too much to make our night special! we had a great time and will definitely be returning and recommending to others! The live music and atmosphere was perfect for a Saturday night.

Never felt so unwanted in a restaurant before… Atmosphere was awful from start to finish however as we had drove all the way we thought we would try the food as planned. Table was filthy before we had even sat down. Food was totally shocking for the price. Both are meals were totally different sizes. Steak was very fatty, tomato rock hard, veg was clearly from frozen, chips were over cooked and greasy & nothing seasoned. We never got asked how our meal was untill we had finished what we could even eat of the meal. When finally asked how are food was, everything above was mentioned politely and not even a sorry was given… I was told I s best to have my steak well done rather then rare so the fat would be cooked better.

Thank you for today. Beautifully cooked carvery, roasties to die for, gravy was amazing! Lovely friendly helpful staff. Most impressed with the ladies loos absolutely spotless and smelt amazing. Would definitely recommend.

We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food was really good very tasty and came quickly too.
All the staff made our stay extra special because they were very friendly and worked hard you could see that they worked well as a team and they enjoyed their job. We will be coming again next year when we holiday this way. Thank you Friendly Spirit.

Stayed here as a Brit stop in our camper, staff were very friendly, and helpful with directions to other parts of village. Evening meal was excellent, and even included treat for our dog. Thank you will definitely recommend to others.

Ok where to start the outside looked really nice and clean as we walked down from the car park. We walked inside and a nice man directed us to the lounge area. Once in the lady behind the bar booked me in and told me right we are not a hotel we are a inn so service throughout the night wasn’t possible as they shut the pub down completely. I though that’s fine she also told me not to expect too much as they were quite busy and they had stopped serving food I got there at 8:45pm. She didn’t show us to the room she took us half way up the car park and pointed to the room once In we had a look around and it wasn’t too bad nothing Like the photos at all we had tiny windows showing Is the car park. The bathroom was disgusting mold everywhere rubbish in the bin and the floor hadn’t been cleaned in months it had stains all over it. There was cobwebs everywhere and loads of spiders the floor hadn’t been cleaned at all. But hey they were busy remember! To busy to clean it’s ok they Only knew I was coming a week in advance as I booked on Monday we arrived on Friday note to anyone who stays here avoid the triple room it’s horrible I won’t stay here again.

Nice pub and a nice drop of Thatchers Haze. Alas, arrived too late for lunch as food was finished. Will have to go back to try that.

Very nice place, good atmosphere and lovely surroundings. I would have given 4-5 star review but both times I have been I ordered a burger and although very nicely presented both were overcooked. I've since downgraded my review. Went in again at 1.45, sign said last orders at 2, told we're closed. No apology, so I asked if there was a local alternative and was told try Bridgwater. Very unhelpful, won't be going back for a 5th time!

The service I received whilst staying at the friendly spirit inn was exceptional at all points of contact. The receptionist while checking in, bar and serving staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was well priced and of very good quality, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The room I stayed in was small, cosy and very comfortable, I had an excellent nights sleep.

Was in the area for a course, spent both nights in here watching football on the big screen TV. Friendly pub with a great selection of beers.

Nice little pub near the Cannington Court. Not a whole load of choice around but/so this is the choice by a long stretch. Friendly, quiet, well priced. Can't complain really! Better choice of beers than the others nearby too.

Nicest pub for student in cannington. Beer is moderate in price but bar staff are very warming. Darts are free to play and there's a pool table. Big beer garden with a giant tent which will be nice for the summer.

It wasn't our first choice, which was full. They forgot our order, so we waited far too long for it. Have you ever ordered a Thai Green curry served with poppadoms, which tastes like sweet & sour chicken? They gave us £10 off but it wasn't enough to want to go back.

Food okayish. Not great, anything you could grab out the freezer in a pinch and put on a plate. Really rude barstaff, not sure if they misunderstood us as they weren't English, but very unfriendly. The Food was lovely. However this was a birthday meal for my grandpa who was sat without food for 15 minutes after we had all received ours. The two meals for the children. Oh we ran out over lunch … Erm we preordered so you should have sold fish that was already sold but to make it worse they bring out all the food minus said grandfather's meal then let us know that out children would have to wait another 10 minutes. Should have informed us at the start when they started cooking and realised Oh we have no fish left… The attitude of the manager/owner was shocking couldn't take an order at the bar made me feel like I was in the wrong. Was rude and passive aggressive when I asked for cheese. I get that it's a beef burger that's why I asked if it would be possible to get some… I wanted to complain on day but I felt if I approached then I would be wrong. As I said Food was lovely service was a bit slow but staff nice manager … training required.

It is a very nice place, with a restaurant where the food is very good. The rooms and beds are very comfortable and the service is always very bn. There are no parking problems because there is a very large parking lot.

They were just about to stop serving but extended it for us they were brilliant and the meal was lovely, reasonably priced as well.

This place has had a major revamp with no expense spared on the decor and looks great. For a Saturday it was quite busy and maybe the staff weren't quite geared up for it. Table of five next to us had a meal completely missed off. With the table on the other side having a side order missing. Our mains was good — chicken korma curry and pan fried chicken in Stilton sauce with fresh vegetables. Sadly my Hot Fudge Cake with custard was totally cold. If their had been a member of staff around to ask to get it in the microwave I would have. But after ten minutes I gave up waiting. Second meal in two days where the dessert was served cold whilst dinning in the area. Bizarre.
