Christmas lunch was a complete disaster, took my family including my mum and two sisters, first time
We’ve ever eaten out on Christmas Day. Lovely room, staff were great but this all changed after we’d only had a starter in 2 hours and 15 mins
My two girls aged 7 & 5 had only eaten a bread roll in that time too! No offer of anything to keep them going! Adults received a free glass of something but after being told it will be ten minutes on numerous occasions the atmosphere crashed! Then worse still the main event came out what a shambles! I’m 6ft 2” weighing 16 stone and was raring to go, 4 Brussel sprouts which were tough, some rainbow carrots, a splash of gravy, supposedly roasted potatoes (boiled then tossed in the fat fryer)! No gravy boat!
Desert wasn’t bad but we left before coffee as our girls were fed up after being there too long
Manager Luke went from wanting us to inform him in the event of anything going a miss to asking customers to direct complaints via e mail! He came out the kitchen with a mouth full of food too pretty unprofessional if you ask me. My mums been in the professional catering business for over 40 years it was tough for her not to cook for us all this year I wanted to get her away from that this year so we could all enjoy the day, we knew there’d be bumps in the road but we agreed to not moan or spoil things but we didn’t expect this level of unprofessionalism from your kitchen.

As a treat for my Aunt I bought her afternoon tea for two. She did not complain at the hotel but has just told me that it was very very poor. No choice of sandwiches, stale cake, poor and slow service.

Lovely location nice staff excellent rooms. But if you have mobility problems ask for 1st floor. There is no lift!

Lincoln Steampunk Asylum Festival was on over 4 days of August Bank Holiday. I stay at the White Hart when in Lincoln so made the bar area a designated meeting place for members of my steampunk group East Coast Steampunks UK during the Festival. It was an inspired choice — beautiful and spacious surroundings, comfortable seating, lovely menu, all very clean. The absolute best part though was the excellent attention of the bar staff. Katie was a star. She could not have done more for us. She fetched cushions for strait-laced corseted ladies, moved furniture so that we could sit together, mixed special drinks, passed on messages — she did her utmost to make our visits perfect. I would definitely recommend visiting the White Hart Hotel if you are in Lincoln.

Lunched here on a visit to Lincoln. The hotel was very busy but the atmosphere was warm and friendly on a very cold day and the food was very good. Very efficient staff so no long waits for food and drinks. Wine was served on time with the food. The Hotel is near some places you may wish to visit and I would advise walking to most of these as parking nearby can be difficult. Parking can be found at the top of Bailgate and left to Westgate 1 Car Park. There are other car parks if you go down through the centre of Lincoln over the railway lines. This parking is frequently sign posted and near to the shops Enjoy your visit.

Fantastic location, so close to both the Cathedral and castle with a lot of lovely boutiques and cafes close by. The room was spotless and very comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant (Grille) was great, we ate from the ala carte menu and couldn't fault the food at all. We will definitely be staying again with our children next time as we enjoyed Lincoln so much. Thank you.

Was so disappointed, booked afternoon tea at white hart for the Friday just gone, arrived to be seated in the bar no table set, and was left at that table, we paid £19 a head for a champagne afternoon tea, was not worth it, we wanted to treat a friend from London, thought the ideal place. Won’t be going back.

We stayed over as part of a wedding party. Food served at the reception was excellent. The accommodation was comfortable. The great freshly cooked breakfast set us up for the day ahead. But most of all the staff were brilliant.

Location was brilliant, very accessible to explore the old parts of Lincoln, very close to restaurants and the castle. The room was exceptional, very large and very well decorated. Breakfast was served until 11am and there was a good selection to choose from, but who can turn down a full English! Would definately return.

Set slap bang in the middle of Lincoln, the White Hart hotel is perfect for visiting the city. The attached restaurant does a great menu and breakfasts. Rooms are well decorated and very comfortable. And best of all the prices are reasonable too!

Well placed for town centre. Pleasant staff. Room we had was ok but the bathroom needs upgrading due to fixtures being loose. Good view of the cathedral.

Having photographed many venues I have to say this venue was amongst top of my list to re-visit again!. Bridal prep room was a spacious, light and airy perfect for those bridal prep shots. The staff were incredible, professional and so helpful Matt especially Hope to photograph this venue again soon.

Can not thank the staff of the White Hart enough for thier hard work and attention to detail during my daughters wedding on Saturday 10th March. Nothing was too much trouble, every little detail was perfect. The whole wedding party were made to feel special during our stay. The rooms were clean and tasteful to say the least, the food exquisite. Perfect venue, perfect day, thank you.

We had a meal in the restaurant and it was very good. Excellent service. One meal wasn't quite right and it was credited. Can't argue with that. Reasonable prices.

First time staying. Location is great, between the Cathedral and the Castle, going down into the town is fine, just be prepared for a climb back up Steep hill, lives up to its name.
The staff were friendly, room was fine room 202 bit of a climb. Breakfast was good plenty to eat, had dinner on 1 night that was fine, there's an early menu up to 18:30 and a la carte menu after. There is free parking across the road, some of it under shelter and some in the open, just be aware the under cover has pigeons roosting so expect some mess. Overall enjoyed the stay and would definitely use again.

Everything has been amazing — the welcome, the room, the view from room (picture), the food, the staff who all take time to chat and engage with you. All the little touches — water by bed, bath robes, the White Company toiletries, the vintage design door messages. Worth every penny and when I come back to Lincoln I will definitely stay again. Love it and still one more night and delicious breakfast to go ❤️❤️❤️

Nice 3 star hotel. Room was compact but a little too warm. Ensuite bathroom extractor didn't work. And the shower head was fixed to the wall so I couldn't adjust it's height to better fit my 6' 3" frame. The bed was a little smaller than I would've liked but I am used to that.

Very central with great view of cathedral. Invaluable guest parking opposite. Huge rooms with lovely White Company toiletries in room.

The hotel is ideally located between the castle and the cathedral. The rooms are certainly a little ageing but very well maintained and of a perfectly acceptable level.
The staff are especially helpful and welcoming, present and discreet at the same time.
The hotel has a bar that does not lack ambience and an adjoining restaurant that turned out to be a very good table. The rooms are however very quiet and conducive to rest.
I especially enjoyed having teapot, cups and tea at will in the room.
The area is rather lively and offers bars, restaurants, tea rooms, glaciers and various shops.

Easily one of the best places to eat in Lincoln. Service is great and the cost of the food is very reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

Booked for 2pm restaurant busy but not packed. Service was slow didn't bring gravy with meal and had to ask twice for gravy and sauces before they eventually arrived, yorkshire pudding crisp to the point of having no moisture left in it. Appeared to be missed when ordering for sweets as again an overly long wait to both order and arrive. Didn't order coffee as we didn't want to wait again. Over all experience disappointing. If this had been our first visit wouldn't return based on what we experienced today.

Excellent location for access to the old town around the Cathedral. Free hotel car park literally across the road. As said by others, the building is old/historic which will appeal to many. Breakfast and dinner served in the restaurant was to a high standard with service to match.

Wonderful rooms, top class restaurant and great cocktail bar. Parking is disjointed from the main Hotel but otherwise this place is somewhere I'd recommend to anyone. This Hotel also has a large number of conference rooms and caters for events, weddings etc.

Very nice hotel, with lots of character. Nice rooms, well furnished. Cheerful and friendly staff in the reception and bar, good cooked breakfast. Loved my brief stay!

Food was average. The Gnocchi main course was smaller, smaller than the child meals, and lacked flavour. However, other dishes especially the fish and chips were good. There are a good range of desserts and the Chocolate torte is very good. Staff are extremely helpful.

This was the 2nd time my wife and I have stayed at the White Hart. Our room was very nice although a bit of a trek to get to and, although right next to the Cathedral, the double glazing reduces the noise of the bells enough so that you don't notice them. Be warned though, there is no air con, so if you want your window open be prepared for a bit of campanology. The hotel's USP is its location being in the best part of Lincoln in my opinion (Bailgate) and the Cathedral and castle are a stones throw away. Having it's own car park in this part of town is also a bonus. Breakfast was good with very friendly, but slightly disorganised, staff although to be fair to them, it was a busy service as there had been a wedding in the hotel the day before and a lot of the guests had stayed over. Bottom line, we would definitely stay here again.

Attended the hotel for a wedding and stayed the night afterwards. The hotel is on a great spot, right beside the Cathedral. The doors were wide open to the front bar, which gave a welcoming atmosphere. The hotel was rustic and reflected the history of the time it was built, the room was spacious and agreeable with a very comfortable bed.

Pleasant hotel in a fantastic position (situated right on the doorstep of Lincoln's main historic sights). Rooms are spacious, and the restaurant is decent. However, it's age is its downfall. Every floorboard creaks wonderfully as you walk up the stairs and along the hallways to your room. In the room above us, the guests walked around the room until 2am each night, so we got very little sleep. Not for the light sleepers, or those easily disturbed.

Its lovely place! Location is brilliant. Room was tidy, fresh and comfortable. Good view from windows at the Cathedral. Really quality food, professional bartenders, helpful and friendly staff. Roomy car park for guests. I really like the ambiance there. I would like to return there. Highly recommended.

The room we stayed in was a twin and quite small for the price and two people but did the job. Went to get a drink in the afternoon 4 Bar Staff working, two talking. I stood and waited to be served as a barman in front was speaking to a lady at the bar. None of the free bar staff engaged so I ended up walking away after being left standing for about 10 minutes. We had gone as a group and booked as so, however one of the party had to pay for breakfast and the rest didn't have to which I found confusing as we all paid the same price for the rooms with breakfast.

The location if the hotel was very good it was accessible. The service was quick and very friendly. The food was also very nice.

The location was good. Service was good and pleasant. Staff were lovely but the hotel was very dusty. Bridal suite was dusty, carpets were dirty. Glasses were dirty. Room service breakfast was cold.

Reviewing the Restaurant and Bar and NOT the hotel. Took my wife for a meal here and we both ordered steaks. Both steaks cooked perfectly (I had the T-Bone and the wife had the Sirloin), great food and a good atmosphere, music wasn't too loud so we didn't have trouble chatting throughout. Good service by friendly staff. Wine selection was really good. Only downside would be that if you are a couple dining you might get put in the middle row that really doesn't provide much space between tables or privacy in conversations. Other than that small point it was a great meal followed by really nice cocktails in the hotel bar.

This hotel would have gained more stars had it not been let down by the pious and arrogant concierge on our arrival. The rest of the staff made our stay most enjoyable.

I always enjoy staying here. It is old, sometimes not up to date. So I can understand some of the other reviews. These reviewers may have a more decerning taste. The location and the people more than make up for it. We arrived late one time (about midnight), and did not have time to get dinner. The restaurant was closed but the bar staff, got us a meal. Wow. It was exceptional.

Wikipedia describes Boutique Hotels as comfortable, intimate and welcoming. We would not put The White Hart in that category. We had a large bedroom but it was not welcoming — but rather like an office boardroom with a bed. The old, lead windows rattled and clicked all night, which was not restful. There is not a separate, comfy lounge for the residents — you have to hope there may be a spare seat in the bar — but it's so noisy you can't have a conversation. Some of the staff deserve a medal but when I left something at the Hotel and asked for it to be sent on. I am still waiting! The Hotel is convenient and central but has no charm.

Disappointed. My wife, daughter and I stopped here for lunch recently. Both wife and daughter are wheat and dairy intolerant and this was made clear when the food was ordered, the staff taking the order where not phased at all by this, there were apparently, "wheat free" and "dairy free" options on the till. Despite reiterating several times that there should be no wheat or dairy on the meal, it arrived with a large amount of butter on the steak. This alone would not be that bad, however when the waiter took the meal back, he left mine, but no cutlery, meaning I had to watch my meal go cold while my wife and daughter waited for their replacement. This is not acceptable service from an establishment that charges £9 for a burger. I will not be returning.
