The best kippers on the coast We had a two night mid week break at the Dalmeny for a family get together. B&B As always the staff were very welcoming at reception, in the bar and at breakfast time. Well managed by a couple of senior staff, the young team were competent and helpful. The breakfast on both days was of a very high standard and the choice was excellent. We have been to the Dalmeny on several occasions over the past 20 years and have never been disappointed.

Stopping here for a week with the in-laws. Spacious room with a balcony that faces the sea. Small fridge to keep things in. Good buffet breakfast. Bar prices are typical hotel prices. Staff very pleasant indeed. For me the only draw back is that they keep craft ales that are supposed to be served at 10° in a chiller.

What a beautiful hotel stayed Thursday and Friday night. Staff are absolutely fantastic. Entertainment was amazing catered for children and adults. The kids club staff was fantastic one young lad was teaching my son to play the piano today he loved it. Absolutely out standing hotel defo will recommend to my friends and family x.

It's not too bad. Caters for the holiday trade and locals looking for some relaxation. Not so much business users but needs them during the slack season. The room was massive and clean. The breakfast was disappointing but OK. There are better options in Lytham St Anne's. I try other hotels before staying here again. Photos of Room 304.

What lovely lovely staff. Well done Dalmeney. We used to come here when our children were little, they are grown now with children of their own, my youngest daughter suggested we come and have a family bank holiday weekend to celebrate her birthday. Which was so wonderful as they have all moved to London so, it was lovely to get us all together in their childhood favourite place. The staff are wonderful, unfortunately we were in two rooms the first one was lovely no complaints at all, but we had to, change rooms due to booking late which we were fine with, unfortunately the 2 nd room was not good as it absolutely stank of urine from the toilet carpet. It was horrible. Quite unbearable. Also the heat in the hotel is also ridiculous, the weather was very hot and sunny so why on earth was the heating in in the corridors, when I asked about this I was informed the owner liked it like that.! It felt so hot and uncomfortable. The good side is the kids had a great time and the staff are lovely. I would just make sure we have a better room next time.

You have not let us down, we are having such a wonderful time reminiscing and enjoying the wonderful hospitality. Absolutely delighted. Rooms are lovely as are the staff and the cocktails are great they have gone out of their way to accommodate us.

I am currently working in Blackpool and so during the week I have been stopping here three times a week over 6 months. This is a very family orientated hotel and there are great child friendly activities. For the adults there is a swimming pool, squash court and gym. I have stopped in most of the rooms in the hotel now. The rooms themselves are spacious, and the beds are comfy. Some of the rooms feel a little tired and need some light maintenance but are otherwise ok, although you may get the occasional cold shower depending on where you are. The food at the bar is reasonable and they do have an actual restaurant where there are more options. The staff themselves are friendly, welcoming and warm. The only thing for me as a business user is that the Wi-Fi is dreadful and is desperate need of an overhaul. But for the majority of people that won't be an issue. Dependent on what time you get there, the car park can be full and if you have a larger car then the parking below can be very tight. The small niggle aside I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel as for the facilities you have access to you would expect to pay a lot more.

Truely amazing staff. Amazing food. Truely blessed to have stayed there. The facietlies they have for everyone including disabled people.

I went there on the weekend and it was fabolous u can get breakfst its right next to the beach also not too far away crom the pleasure beach all the staff are lovely theres a game room a restaurant the room I got was amazing it was the family sweet and it was extremely spacious! I strongly recommend it for everyone.

A great family venue. Plenty of entertaiment for the kids. Plenty of space. Great staff …. Good all round.

Always stayed here over the years, and offers so much to bring me back. Much more lies behind the limited facade than you’d expect. Full gym and spa facilities, games room, good self service buffet breakfast. Coupled with a great location, modern decor in good condition, high standards of customer service, good bar and restaurant, a very agreeable venue.

At the Dalmeny Hotel one of our favourite places! Great front facing room, good food and lovely staff. Had a fab Italian meal on the main street tonight after a trip to Lytham and an afternoon at The Picture house across from The Dalmeny to watch Early Man!

3rd stay The best hotel to host PEs children, park A games, daycare, cinema, dance hall swimming pool. … The Sumum.

Good solid hotel. Good breakfast, smiling staff. Some of the rooms are in need of repair but all the beds are comfortable.

Went as a member of the public for a swim. Great pool and jacuzzi. Didn't go to the steam room. The lockers need replacing desperately. Hinges broken, locks stuck and shabby. They let the place down. Showers are powerful, nice and hot and aren't on those timer buttons which was a great plus! The pool is a great size for a hotel and clean. Can't fault it. The hotel itself looked great too with its cinema room and games room.

We enjoyed the Xmas party night. Food was great, singer very good, casino was fun — the butlers in the buff were a bit unexpected and the men in the group were a bit put off by them though!

Hotel is clean and tidy and to a high standard Rooms are comfy and warm, beds are big. The room we had on the ground floor was spacious but welcoming. Parking is good. Staff are friendly and helpful, can't do enough for you. Lots of amenities available. Food is a good standard bar and restaurant food. Stayed 2 nights, wished we could have stayed longer.

Relax Been here twice with sea view room. Cannot fault the service from the staff. My only gripe is, like Most hotel bars in the area, Guinness is not on draught but shaker. The hotel where the kids bring their parents to! Yet at 60 the kids in the hotel seem elsewhere. Recommended.

Stayed here many times over past 20 years. Very disappointed this last time. Grubby room paint peeling off Outside window ledge dirty. Shame it used to have high standards Rooms not cleansed after last occupancy. Breakfast ok but cold coffee asked for fresh came stone cold again. Will stay at the Grand from now on.

Very beautiful and very nice and the bedrooms were nice and soft and when I arrived I had trouble with the TV but then someone sorted it out! The food was amazing and wonderful! I want to go here again!

Helpful staff, rooms are a bit dated but are really large. Other facilities at the hotel (pool, bar and restaurant) up to date and excellent standard.

My review of Dalmeny Hotel is extremely mixed. I've stayed at the hotel twice now as part of business trips. My first stay was in a room that appeared to be dedicated to for guests that want a self catering stay. It had a kitchen with all the normal facilities provided. The room itself was located at the very back of the hotel and on a business rate was £60 a night bed and breakfast. My most recent stay has been in a sea view room. This room is quite different: the room is very spacious, and has a private balcony with table and chairs. The room was on a business rate of £90 per night, bed and breakfast. In both cases, the rooms are extremely dated, but very functional. If modern and pristine condition is what you want, then these rooms are not for you. In stark contrast however, the public areas are extremely modern and pristine which makes me wonder if the hotel is in the middle of a refurbishment. The restaurant is comparably priced, compared to the nearby Best Western Plus, you will be looking at a minimum of £35 per person for a three course meal per person. The staff in the restaurant are brilliantly helpful and dutiful, however it is a little chaotic because waitresses will walk around several tables trying to find the person for the dish they are carrying. Car parking is available both outside and underground, the underground car park is very tight but doable. The average age of the clientele is around 60. In summary, I'm very torn.

Great hotel, fab food especially the breakfast buffet. Great facilities and staff. Only complaint is had family room opening on to Sun terrace so couldn't leave patio doors open during hot night as not secure. Absolutely no air in room. Either fit A. C. Or add a sliding security grill so that doors can be left open safely. Thanks.

Loved the family room with Balcony and beach front views. Very clean and an excellent breakfast. Ample room in family room with 4 adults sharing. If you are with children plenty to do under one good. Children's cinema and a lovely pool to keep them occupied. I am looking forward to coming back with my two Grandchildren.

Fantastic hotel and good size rooms. We stayed in a balcony suite which was huge had separate bath and shower, fridge, large tv, central heating and comfy bed. Room was a little dated with some paint falling off the walls but other than that, everything else was good.

Top class hotel. Big pool. Jacuzzi. Sauna+steam room. Very clean+spacious. Lovely staff. Would def recommend. Lots to do for children. Amusements. Kids cinema. Think theres a kids club. Breakfast was delicious. Excellent quality+choice of hot cooked +continental.

Much improved. Normally I would describe the Dalmeny as tired, but the room had me updated and modernised and was lovely to stay. Once all the rooms are of the standard it will be one of the best hotels in the area.

Attended a fundraiser afternoon tea in the atrium. The food and service were brilliant and the atrium as a venue was very pleasant. The rest of the hotel is undergoing some sort of refurbishment so looked messy but our event was well serviced and we were looked after excellently.

We have a leisure membership and has a great family pool area, really helpful staff, clean and tidy.

Good Facilities — We are in there for to the Squash Court mainly but lovely place all round.

Great location and lovely hotel. Corridors were a little tired, but room itself was lovely, and recently refurbished. Will come again!

I stayed here with my family around new years eve 2014. Due to our late booking we moved rooms quite a bit so took in all the various quality of rooms the Dalmeny has to offer: New rooms (updated 2014) : These are very nice rooms and are a good quality. The only complaint is that the rooms have a towel rail in the bathroom which you can't turn off, so you have to close the door in order to not boil — this led to my wife's make up melting in the bathroom! New rooms (updated in the last five years) — again decent rooms, not to my taste but nice enough Old rooms (updated in the late 90's) — these are OK, tired in places but can't complain too much was clean and we had plenty of space Very old rooms — disgusting and were on the list to be redone (this might have happened by now). They stank and half the party got loved for the night. In terms of food you have 2 options the 'carvery' where breakfast is served which reminded me of a service station canteen. We had 1 dinner here and then only quick breakfasts. The other option is the ala carte restaurant which was lovely and very good (avoid the carvery and go ala carte everytime). In terms of services it is excellent for kids the pool is good with plenty of toys and the kids club looked good as well. I guess if you get a good room and eat ala Carte you will wonder how it is only a 3 star where as if you get a very old room and only see the carvery you will wonder how it is even a 3 star.

Great hotel. Looks quite small from outside, but when you get inside its bloody massive! Pool, jacuzzi, small kids pool, with large viewing area where you can relax on the sofas. Kids cinema room, gym, cafe, restaurant, outside seating area on two levels, with artificial grass. Small games room, with pool tables and arcade games. Bar serves tapas and other snacks. Restaurant has reasonable choice, service is good and always clean. Double rooms are large and family rooms are massive. Toilet separate to bath/shower room, which is handy! Great view if you can get a beach facing room. Staff have always been helpful and well presented. Not the cheapest hotel, but you get what you pay for. This review is based on the 2 stays I have had there — one as a couple and the other with the kids.

The Dalmeny hotel is a lovely place to stay it looks nice and there is somthing for everyone for the kids there is a games room cinema room and a place for adult s to leave there kids the only thing I would pick up on is the food at dinner the kids had chicken nuggets and fries each was clap cold and I would also complain about a leek in our room it was quite a big leek and got most of our bathroom wet.

PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL**** when leaving your children in the Dino club my seven year old daughter was let out to wander the hotel by herself without any parent signing her out. As anyone could imagine I was totally disgusted by this act of neglect and the potential risks this posed to my child. I subsequently spoke to the extremely condescending duty manager who really couldn't careless. The Dalmeny is by far the most expensive family hotel in Lytham St Annes and at £170 a night you would expect there standards to be high or if not highest. Hopefully the hotel owners will read this review due to its serious nature. On a lighter note the gentleman who took charge of evening entertainment for the children was excellent. Staff were OK, but the hotel is distinctly average. Rooms are tired and in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint, new carpet etc. Kids seemed to be well looked after, so probably OK for a family visit.

Friday night with Tony Benedict. Really good three course meal and live music for two and a half hours. Looking forward to next time.

Fantastic hotel for the family with kids. Plenty for kids to do. Rooms are varied but there is a refurb programme in progress so some very nice contemporary room styles. I work in the area and always stop here. Excellent gym and swimming pool. Friendly staff. Excellent all round.

Fantastic place for family breaks. We keep returning. It has got it just right for family Market who also value adult time and space. The atrium restaurant is lovely modern and excellent food. There is refurb work going on in the reception and one of the bars which is needed. Caters so well for children. Crèche is fantastic and kids entertainment ideal. The pool is pretty and set up well. The staff seem to stay which speaks for itself really — overall Very friendly and happy team always accommodating. We didn't like our original room so reception showed us other options and it's top quality with Heaps of space and sea view. Fantastic.

I have stayed a couple of times in this hotel and I dont think I have enjoyed it even once! The rooms are old and dirty, and you never really do feel like you can relax and be comfortable in them. I also find there to be an odd smell in the hotel, most likely because it has not been cleaned. I would definitely try to avoid this hotel if at all possible.
