I visited this hotel last week for a company meeting and sports day event. The food was lovely, the conference rooms were great and of good size. Also the grounds of the hotel are very picturesque. Would be great for a wedding!

I had arranged to have my wedding here and they made the whole process so easy. They helped with any questions I had and ensured that everyone was catered for. We had such an amazing day and loved our ceremony in the Gazebo! Thank you!

Very nice hotel! Clean, large rooms. We had a double room which was a superkingsize bed which we were surprised by. Breakfast in the morning is £16 if you don't pre-book and £11 If you do… have to say… worth it. Very very good quality of food. Everything from cereals and pastry to English breakfast, and veggie sausages are available on request.

Staff friendly and helpful. Food adequate. OK for an overnight stay en route to somewhere. Very expensive bar prices but good pubs close by.

Upon arriving at the reception I was greeted with a rather rude reply from the woman at the desk. Her attitude was less than poor which made the atmosphere very unpleasant. She gave us the wrong floors for the rooms and also the incorrect timings for when the sauna and steam room closed. She was quite unhelpful. This became something of an occurring theme amongst some of the staff in the hotel. When approaching the dinning area for dinner an extremely rude man came over, his voice was raised, his attitude was poor and he did not look happy. He failed to explain the rules of eating in the dinning area or how to order food. The experience was very very disappointing. Room service did not work, nobody ever picked the phone in reception, the hotel did not have air con. Absorltuley ridiculous. Overall the hotel was nice but after meeting so many unpleasant staff this hotel is not somewhere that would be recommended.

Absolutely loved it. We stayed here for a couple of night's, with breakfast and dinner included. Loved their menu and their leisure centre. You can even book yourself in for a pregnancy massage.

Grounds were really nice, issue is the rooms were like going back to the 1980's! No tea or coffee available, lights did not work, no sockets by the bed to charge your phone, just really run down room… And for 90 squids a night… good size TV though. But if you want to get out of the hot sweaty room the bar closes at 11 so can't drink — thanks.

Quiet Hotel located within a park. Great location close on the highway. The staff is very helpful.

We had a not very pleasant stay at this hotel. At the check in we weren't informed of discounts to the Leeds Castle which they provide. The facilities were not the best, we were only provided one towel for a double occupancy room. The shower curtain was ripped and the wall in the toilet was cracked and dirty in the room. Room service was not good, we cancelled an order as it would take over an hour and they called us to pick it up after a while. The gym was really good. The TV was nice and big. The operations manager was as accommodating as possible.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights, it is right next to the Leeds castle and not very far from Canterbity and various national trusts, which is very nice. The room is of good size and very clean. It has a nice pool but I would suggest to increase the temperature of the pool as it is a bit cold for us, and we enjoyed the steam room and the jacuzzi very much. We also had all our dinners in the hotels bassteris, the selections are good and meals are cooked very well. But I would suggest to have a seasonal menu as after three dinners we already tried everything we are interested and if we are to stay with them again I would run out of selections.

Amazing place to stay. Affordable, warm, luxurious and the leisure facilities are amazing! Free breakfast in the morning was also a pro.

Do not eat the evening meals here until they have completed their refurbishments eta 6 weeks — food served cold which should be hot! not only our table turned back food but other tables dissatisfied as well — Mercure Great Dane Management: have a word with your evening chef/kitchen staff they need to take note of how the food is from the breakfast chef: great food served hot!

The rooms here are lovely and the beds are Amazing! The views are nice if you get a lakeside view. Free spa services are a great touch. Can't wait to return!

Stayed as overnight guest. Nice location, ample parking, comfortable room, well presented but starting to show signs of wear. Staff were friendly and helpful, very welcoming. Good sized gym with a good selection of equipment, great sized pool but was quite cold, was informed they were having a bit of trouble with the hot water during my visit. Pool area would benefit from an update, it seems well kept but the design is fresh out of the early nineties. Overall reasonably priced, would consider staying again.

Attended a conference. We were welcomed and directed as soon as we arrived. The staff were professional, courteous and did everything they could to make us welcome and comfortable. All the amenities were clean.

Heated pool never feels warm enough. On last day of stay there was an exercise class for presumably retired people. Again we were not warned of this as we checked into pool. My first inkling of it was when a participant of the class said to me" can the children swim as they will have to be in the deep end because there is a class for 45mins in the shallow end. If they can't swim they are floaters" she said. As if we were going to risk my 4 year and 7 year old lives so she could enjoy her class. Well guess what we shared the shallow end.

Spent one night here after the Great Gatsby Christmas event we attended. Although this was a themed night there was no 20's music it was all Christmas cheese. Also there were meant to be themed cocktails but there were not. Great pool area but the spa is only 3 treatment rooms off the swimming pool so you can hear everything. The therapists were actually very good however. Large rooms but no mini bar or fridge. Average breakfast.

Nice place. Its old but not broken down, its classy but not over the top. Not too expensive but not cheap. Food wasn't bad too surprisingly. A walk away from Leeds castle. The hotel has a pool, jacuzzi and steam sauna. The dry sauna was out of order in the men's though.

The hotel was clean and the room had adequate facilities. However, the hotel was incredibly warm and I couldn't find any air conditioning/temperature controls in the room. I would have opened my windows but I was next to a fire door and someone was using it as a smoking area as if I opened the window the room would smell of smoke. The queues at check-in and for the bar were also a little excessive. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and I would happily stay here again.

A beautiful hotel with a good restaurant.

Went away on a 2 night break. Arrived and from the get go felt welcome. The staff were kind, polite and extremely professional. The food was really good; a bit pricy but worth it. Smallish menu but it meant the chef cooked everything extremely well. The spa was good, not the best but just what we needed. Will definitely stay here again.

Greeted by nice staff, the beauty therapist working (1st October) was so friendly and couldn't have been more accommodating and lovely. The food was absolutely incredible! I'm vegan so was worried there would be nothing for me but there were quite a few options which is rare to find! The chips are the fluffiest I've ever had. Our room was lovely and comfy and clean. I wish I could have stayed longer! Thank you so much, I'll definitely be back soon.

I always book Mercure for this exact reason… The staff are amazing, the food is incredible and the beds are perfect. I went for my girlfriends birthday as a little getaway and we were not dissapointed: From start to finish we were treated so well by staff and was relaxing the whole time. Can't wait to try another!

The hotel room was comfortable, the washing facilities were fine, though the decor in the bathroom is a bit old-fashioned and faded. The staff were friendly and obliging and the facilities were all I needed — particularly a working Wi-Fi. But… The restaurant left something to be desired for my evening meal. There was none available of the wine I wanted (Chablis) ; I was told that there were no olives or capers to go with a couple of the dishes; there was no brioche for the burger buns. None of this mattered, as it didn't affect my food choices; but I wasn't overly impressed with the "signature dishes" which were OK as far as they went, but signature dishes should go further than that. The breakfast food selection was fine, and I enjoyed my breakfast.

Comfortable hotel with very lovely staff. Food was very good. Shower in the room was very very hot! Even on the coolest setting. You wouldn't want your children to have a shower. That was the only criticism. Will definitely visit again. Perfect location if visiting Leeds Castle.

Staff were friendly and on hand to help. The hotel is not 4 star but more 3 star as the appearance and facilities are not of a 4 star standard or quality. However, the green surroundings and field at the back of the restaurant is lovely. I enjoyed a lovely spa using the sauna, steam, jacuzzi, pool and I had a back massage — the massage therapist was absolutely fantastic and I received a lovely, good massage! The rooms could have been a bit cleaner. I had a decent sleep. All in all a nice hotel but more 3 star.

A comfortable stay with good food, and helpful friendly staff, who were very accommodating in meeting the extra needs of my wife who has mobility issues. Breakfast particularly good. Two issues (1) noise of nearby M20 (unless you sleep with window shut — and suffocate! ) (2) unsatisfactory lift access — the elevator does not give direct access to the front desk and hotel entrance.

Very enjoyable overnight stay. All staff we came In contact with were friendly and approachable. Food was great with a good selection. Breakfast was brilliant. Room size was fine for 2 of us. Would have no problem recommending.

We were in organized group: No drinks were served at dinner but, on request to the staff, we were told we had to get up and go and pick them up at the bar.
Unfortunately to access the elevator to go up a room, it was necessary to make 6 steps with the suitcases or activate the stairlift not intended for such use.

Staff friendly. Very quick to serve. Lots of room for seating for the event and the food came out fast and hot and not lacking on quality.

The family room great for the kids. Nice and spacious with separate beds for my two children. Food in the restaurant was OK, nothing amazing. The kids had chicken which was a bit overcooked. My steak was tasty. Facilities were excellent, there kids loved the big pool, and there was plenty around the hotel for the children to see.

Booked as we had an early Eurotunnel crossing, really convenient for this:hotel is 2 mins off the M20, and about 25 mins from the Eurotunnel (in clear traffic) Room was excellent value, but decoration wasn't the best (some stains on wall and ceiling). Also room didn't have air conditioning, which also was a problem as it was really hot in the room. The hotelvis set in a large plot, meaning there was pleanty of space to walk around and enjoy the nice weather.

Second visit, consistent level of food and great staff very welcoming and professional. A great venue all in all.

Great space outside, nice tennis courts and pool inside with saunas and steam room. Rooms nothing grand but ok. I didn't try the food as it was too expensive. Pool needed updating when we were there last, and staff were a bit snooty (especially the leisure staff), but overall not the uk's worst hotel.

I stayed in this hotel for one night with my partner, service was very good with polite staff whenever we had to deal with them as well as any questions for the local area. The hotel room itself wasn't great at all, it was very small and while not broken beyond use, the shower pretty much fell apart when turning it on. The supplied fan wasn't working, but I'm sure they would have happily replaced it if we asked. The decor of the hotel room was fairly dated, with stained curtains and lots of scuffs on the walls. Swimming facilities were decent, however the jacuzzi wasn't working for a good part of the day. It would be smart to bring drinks with you as the bar (the only place to buy drinks! ) was extremely expensive, also local shops were very out of the way if you didn't drive here.

We stayed here for three nights on a coach trip exploring Kent and it turned out to be a very central location! The bedrooms were adequate. The breakfast and dinner were buffet style with a very good variety of food available for each. The lounge areas were very spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool has a jacuzzi too and there is a sauna in both the ladies and gents changing rooms! There is a gym too! There are function and conference rooms that were occupied most of the time we were there! The staff were very friendly especially Marie who took the time to tell us the history of the hotel from when it was built originally as part of Leeds Castle estate then it became a Gentlemans Club before being bought by a hotel chain and being extensively extended! We loved the Great Danes theme throughout especially the guard dog in the foyer! The hotel is in the middle of nowhere but has extensive lawns to walk round!

Got married there and have been back several times since n never had a single complaint. The spa has nice relaxing atmosphere.

Amazing value. The perfect evening meal, excellent double room, full use of the spa facilities and such a good quality breakfast for just over £40 per person. Throw in a beautiful setting, late checkout and friendly staff and it's a no brainer that we'll be back again. FYI, the hotel info is on the tv, not in a booklet in thew room (took us a while to work that out! ) And there are kids swimming lessons at 9am in the pool so the swim before breakfast was a busy one!

Rooms are very small defiently not worthe £110 a night defiently wont be going back I worthe of defo preferred to leave & go for a primer inn.

Food was lovely and the entertainment gained me a balloon elephant!

The room was OK. Other guests were noisy at 2am. Breakfast was extremely basic and not that great. Staff seemed to be new.

I have been living there for 3 weeks and the staff are so nice there.

Large hotel with extensive grounds. Facilities clean and well maintained. However, very expensive for food a simple sandwich, not eaten in the restaurant, was almost £10.

Horrible place, do not stay here! Front reception staff incredibly rude!

Worst Mecure I have stayed in! Cannot understand how this is a 4 star hotel?! There is mould is the bathroom, the rooms are tiny and expensive, and the drinks at the bar are warm! Never again.

Amazing. Great quality for the price. Peaceful and big. Wifi available. Certified for events such as weddings. Rooms are amazing quality, a full size golf course. Peacocks walking around. Not far from Chatham or Maidstone. Has an amazing bar, great facilities and free swimming pool and gym if registered staying at the hotel. Loved it and brilliant. Staff welcoming and bar has a piano. Food is a little expensive but it is grand.

I went to stay at this hotel for my close friend's wedding. Upon arrival I was told where my room was and that was all, not told about any of the facilities or internet access information and a swipe of my debit card was requested even though I was going to pay cash which was fine at the time. I did not know where breakfast would be or check out times either. After finding my room myself and another patron assisting me with the tricky card to open the door, I went in to the deluxe suite and was disappointed, it was that of a number of standard double rooms I have encountered in many lower budget hotels. This room was £135 per night. After enjoying the day at the wedding which was wonderful, I retired to my room and was a little hungry to find there were no menu's for room service. I also could not access the Wi-Fi after triying for half an hour and gave up. I walked to distance to the bar and asked for a hot chocolate and it was not available, another guest came to order room service as she could not get through on the phone to reception. I borrowed her menu and then decided it would be a bad idea as the variety of food available at that time was feeble. My problems began the following day at check-out. The receptionist from the previous day had swiped my card for £160 and informed me it would be refunded in 4-5 working days! I complained and stated she had not told me she would be requesting payment and that I had not authorised this payment.

Stopped over for an xmas do. The room was small, untidy and had hairs on the floor!. The worst part the walls are paper thin. Ok its xmas time and people are more noisey, but you could here people walking around and noises in the next room. The postive the staff wre really nice!. Breakfast, well not great, but ok. Its not a hotel I would go back to.
