It’s a shame that there’s no option to rate this place 0 stars!
This is by far the worst place I have stayed in, in all my life!
I confirmed with the hostel that my party of 4 would be arriving at the very earliest 11pm on the day of check in and potentially into the early hours in the morning to which they provided me with 2 codes to access the building and the room. We arrived at the hostel after a 7 hour journey from North Wales at 2am. I entered the code to the main building door which allowed us access straight away. We then proceeded to the room to which our access code given to us would not work. After trying various combinations it was evident that it was not going to work. I then tried to call the hostel contact number to which I heard a phone ringing from the floor above. I proceeded to locate the ringing phone which led me to a bedroom door. I knocked on the door to which I very angry man answered to. At first I thought I had woken up a guest but it turns out I did not. This man was the owner. He was extremely rude, shouting in my face asking me what I wanted. After trying to explain to him numerous times that I was needing to gain access to the room I had paid for I was certain he was going to assault me. He smelt of booze and was clearly in no fit state to be running any place of accommodation. Finally he came and opened the room for us after about 10-15 minutes of verbal abuse towards me. The room itself wasn’t bad but smelt terrible. In the morning we went downstairs for breakfast to be greeted by the same man. This time he was slightly less aggressive but still rather abrupt and rude. He served up freezing cold boiled eggs (don’t ask me how that’s possible) which had clearly been in the fridge for about 5 years. The condiments were all out of date too!
In all my years of staying in a combination of hotels and hostels this has by far been one of the worst experiences of my life and I would heavily recommend to anyone considering to book here to spend a little more money and go somewhere where the staff (owner) treat you with an at-least ounce of respect because you won’t get that here!
DO NOT STAY HERE!
