Disappointed with this place, although the quality is reflected in the price. The bedroom was dirty, carpet badly stained, the room smelt strongly of damp, the walls are in desperate need of a paint. It is about equivalent to poor student digs! There is a single glazed sash window that is painted open! And there is a busy main road right out side — needless to say I don’t get much sleep!

Great pub serving good food with a friendly service.

Intended to eat at The Green Man in Thriplow but there was a big party in. So we took a chance on The Chequers and I'm glad we did. Friendly staff and good pub food at decent prices (my shin of beef with horseradish mash and roasted veg was a steal at £10). Could definitely do better with the beer selection — pretty average big-brand ales — but maybe they change the barrels regularly and I was unlucky. The fire was lovely to look at but didn't reach the sunken area of the bar where we sat, which was a bit chilly. Overall a great village pub which could be excellent with a few tweaks.

Top Notch & the original WW2 pub for British & American airmen during and after the Battle of Britain. Fowlmere Areodrome (a satalite to Duxford) a key airfield in 1940. The pub has wartime photos and is a must stop for visitors to duxford and reinactors of the forties era. My personal score is 10/10.

A lovely historic pub, with great food and drink, that is the hub for the local community and an attraction to visitors far & wide. My friend who stayed there rated it highly.

Ordered Steak and Stilton pie no Stilton could be tasted. Mash and Cabbage was cold when arrived, bu it was served on a cold plate. Why is it so hard to warm a plate? Steak pie was chopped up left over roast beef from Sunday lunch, with a bit of gravy.

Booked for 5 people to stay here for 4 nights everything was played up. So we all whent to work thinking everything was sorted turned up after working hard all day we whent to get our keys to find out we can't stay there because it's fully booked. His attitude was terrible. Can't find anywhere at all staying in the car thanks to him! But must say the bar staff where very helpful and seemed to be very welcoming though.

Food and service was great, would recommend to others. My children loved their meals too.

We were the only ones in there at lunchtime on Saturday, but had two pizzas and a drink, the manager was very friendly and the pizza was delicious.

It was very quiet but that suited us as a couple dining without the kids. We both enjoyed our meals very much. I especially enjoyed the creamy sauce on mine. However, I'm fairly certain my ravioli was out of a packet rather than homemade. That said, it was still a lovely meal out.

We went for lunch for the first time since it's been Italian. Really Impressed. We have the pizza and a drink for £6 deal, really good value for money! A sizeable pizza and tasted fab. The waiter was really friendly and courteous. Would definitely recommend.

Great fresh food, massive portions. Very polite staff and Great value for money. Highly recommend. We will be back.

A selection of ales and a varied menu. Quality of the food can be a bit variable but is generally good pub fare. Staff are friendly but would benefit from additional training.

Foods excellent, try one of their steaks; garden is also fab, highly recommend weather for dinner of just a beer in the garden.

Food OK, cheese and biscuits £9.95 disgusting (hunt the cheese) pub grub at restaurant prices, wouldn't go back, service slow.

Fantastic… Calves liver and warmed scotch egg. And to make it better one meal was free if two of you ordered two courses. Well done Chequers I will be back.
