Stayed for two nights. Service at the hotel was excellent with lots of helpful and generous staff. Breakfast and dinner were superb. A splendid country house hotel with wonderful grounds and facilities. Will definitely visit again.

An excellent experience from the minute we arrived. The staff could not have been more helpful and attentive. It was my wife's birthday surprise and I would like to thank the staff at Tylney Hall for all their help to make it a perfect two days for her. The bar/lounge staff were superb, they really made us feel comfortable and relaxed the whole time, and the restaurant was exceptional. Highly recommend a stroll around the grounds, the staff gave us a brief history lesson about the hotel as we explored it's beautiful gardens, definitely recommend a stroll down to the water gardens, so peaceful. We will definitely be returning to Tylney Hall again soon!

Great place marvelous and attentive staff, Judy a shame our room was right next yo the pool pumps which we could hear all night. Aside from that would thoroughly recommend.

Simply the best hotel ever! My husband and I married there in 2019 and we have been regular visitors ever since! We had a wonderful evening at the musical event on 12th November this year and the service, the food the singers and the band were awesome — and our room was beautiful too. Can’t wait to go back again soon — we would happily attend any future musical events there too 🥰🥂xx.

Tylney hall can improve by not letting someone go for reasons directly related to their disability. They could be an equal opportunities employer and the spa manager could not exercise nepotism.

Finally got around to using a Christmas present of afternoon tea at Tylney Hall. Great service, lovely food, sandwiches, scones, jam & ceam and cakes and a lovely pot of tea. When we thought we had finished, they brought more. Very good indeed.

I recently brought my Nan for afternoon tea for her 90th birthday and she had a lovely time. The staff were very friendly and even brought out a little cake wishing her happy birthday which was lovely. Thank you.

Nice stay over for 4nights. Indoor and outdoor pools, gym, spa, good breakfast and dinner. Staffs were nice and friendly, huge garden, golf club. Overall it’s a good place to have a weekend break from busy london. COVID safe, hand sanitizer everywhere, staffs wear masks, clean after customers left and put the sigh after clean safe to sit, at dinning table and breakfast staffs were wearing gloves and I notice that they have been changing grove often.

Welcoming staff, beautiful grounds and relaxed but luxurious interior.

Peaceful and relaxing. Enjoyed a one night luxury pamper break in January to blow the cobwebs away. Staff and service excellent. We had a problem with the lock but was fixed no fuss. Dinner very good and full English breakfast the best in a very long time.

Can’t get enough of this place. Apples to eat at right season time, beautiful grounds. Lovely pool, not too busy with families!

A disappointment. The service was shockingly bad and the food was mediocre. We took our mum for a special birthday celebration and it was like a comedy of errors. Food left to get cold, food dropped, no service once we had our food served, drinks not topped up. The list is endless.

A beautiful location, wonderful building and most of the food was good. But service timing was appalling with very lengthy delays between courses, having to ask serve staff where food was, when the main course turned up the greens served with the steak were cold. When the dessert course eventually materialised the crumble was barely Luke warm. And the restaurant was not busy. Lastly when it came to the bill they charged 2 people for 4 lunches. Of course we highlighted and they amended with an apology, but they came across as a poorly organised team. The bar service was good. Overall, fab place, they desperately need better managing.

Love Sunday lunch at Tylney in the Oak Dining Room. Superb atmosphere with the piano playing in that splendid room. Food and service both excellent. Then coffee afterwards lazing in an armchair in the lounge. The perfect way to unwind.

Great food and stunning decoration, unfortunately the service it is very poor. There is lots of stuff around but they seem to be very young, with no experience and no supervision. I guess you can improve on that…

Visited Tylney Hall for a wedding. It was lovely, we had a great day for it. The gardens were stunning and the wedding was really special.

We had a modern looking room, nice size and lovely shower. I believe the hotel is in the process of having other room renovated. Great location to travel into London as there's a train station just down the road. Breakfast was nice, although pretty standard. We didn't stay for any other meals. Made use of the gym, you walk through a maze to find it bit when we did we had it to ourselves. Good job as it wasn't very big.

An absolutely fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel. Everything about it is quintessentially English. We were upgraded to a suite, and the only one with a conservatory. The suite was fresh and very up to date. Afternoon tea, the breakfast and dinner the next evening were superb in cuisine with wonderful staff who worked so hard to make our stay a great one. Finally, make sure to check out the stunning grounds. They are a must.

This was our first stay at Tylney Hall, we went there for our 1st wedding anniversary. I couldn’t fault anything the staff were amazing and the food was excellent. I fell ill in the evening resulting in an ambulance coming out, the staff were terrific in supporting me and the ambulance crew. I would like to say a big thank you to them. Apart from the above incident we had a lovely time, and we would love to come back again.

The overall environment is very good and comfortable, the staff of the hotel is very comfortable, make you feel like a vacation. This year the British hot room is not air-conditioning, the room as a whole can not say old but acceptable, breakfast seems a bit simple.

A major disappointment. For what is a remarkable building the food and service in general is shocking. We visited for my birthday and had a reservation for both the terrace and the restaurant choosing to stay on the terrace as the weather and view is superb. It took four attempts asking for more crisps which never arrived, the mussels (two peoples) were sent back as Luke warm and the majority closed to be followed by two over cooked dry steaks and one covered in sauce when we made it very clear that due to allergies one of our party required no sauces at all. Alice was a gem but when asking to speak to a manager after receiving such awful food to be tile none of the management team were available was shocking. We ended up at a small local pub where both the service and quality of food was far superior at a fraction of the cost!

Historic and quaint hotel. Very nice rooms and as large as a small apartment. Very nice outdoor pool. Spectacular and unique settlement within a park. Very good breakfast. The staff are very friendly and professional. Try it!

Amazing hotel with beautiful, extensive grounds and great facilities. Food was a bit of a let down though, they couldn't manage a soft boiled egg after 4 attempts… a shame given how wonderful everything else is. Had it at 4* but now changed to 3* after a lousy lunch. Concluded this hotel is coasting on its good looks and friendly staff. The staff dynamic is lousy, get the impression staff are not empowered to take responsibility for anything. We waited for 50 mins for 3 sandwiches and a pasta with tomato sauce dish. Chased twice and were told someone would come and let us know… no one bothered. Then the pasta and chips were cold and when they returned the pasta was overcooked and sauce was a tasteless jar sauce. Lunch was £46 for 3 sandwiches and an awful kids pasta dish. Shame!

Amazing hotel, beautiful grounds and fantastic food. I went with Blind Veterans to a reunion and we had a wonderful day. The staff at the hotel are the very best. For me with sight loss, to have a layout such as this Hotel has and staff who pay such attention to detail in all they do made the day amazing. From the moment I entered there it was as if the hotel itself were giving me a hug and even though I had never been before I felt safe enough to relax and let my cane guide me. Believe me that feeling is not the norm. It reminded me of days gone by at the Hilton and the Dorchester Hotels. Where nothing was too much for all who entered them.

Attended today as part of the open garden day and took the opportunity to walk through the beautiful grounds. A lovely morning and with some great local suppliers meaning the kids took part in a tree climb and we purchased some delicious local produce — artisan breads and a watercress gin. Super event, well organised and with access to both the grounds and hotel it was a few hours very well enjoyed. Thank you.

My daughter, Cathryn and her fiance Tom, married here on Saturday 21st April and it was the most wonderful and magical experience. The venue is absolutely beautiful and the staff, helpful, polite, experienced, and in truth, amazing. They made us all feel like royalty, and a big thank you to Gary, the wedding organizer, you did a brilliant job.

My wife and I were given an afternoon tea voucher for our wedding day, we were not disappointed by the location and food. When arriving we were treated to a beautiful wooded setting. The gardens are beautiful and there is a lot of wildlife in the wooded area. We were seated in the main lounged with a roaring fire. Our waitress was very warm and friendly, and had lots of suggestions for us to choose from. Our tea arrived very fast and the waiter, enjoyed showing off his skills whilst pouring the tea. We both found this very impressive and entertaining. We opted for sweet and savoury option. I had a few dietary requirements which were solved for me. My wife and really enjoyed the food and spent a lot of time exploring the histroy of the building. I suggest touring the ground after your tea, they are very well maintained. We really enjoyed our walk and were blown away by the setting. Will definitely be attending the hotel again for afternoon tea.

An absolute gem! I visited Tylney Hall for afternoon tea and I must say I was in awe at the surroundings. It was raining so I couldn't tour the grounds, but what I could see took my breath away. Staff went above and beyond, they were all helpful and couldn't do enough for us. I give 4☆ purely because we had to wait a little longer because it was busy.

Lovely historic building and grounds. All staff very attentive and courteous. Breakfast varied, fresh and good quality. Evening meal — service very slow but I believe there was an issue in the kitchen the night we dined. The food however was very tasty and delicious steak.

This is a lovely place and this review is based on restaurant dining only. Also we ate here as vegetarians so that is how we based the rating. You certainly can’t fault the greeting and also the dining area is lovely with lots of space around the tables. Lovely service and the quality of the food was lovely. However the choice for vegetarians is limited with only two choices each for starter and main. Add in the fact that cauliflower soup and cauliflower risotto where in the menus it restricted it even more as you would t want to have Cauliflower overload. Dessert was perfect and it was a lovely evening. Wish we could have have chilled in the lounge as it looked amazing but lacked time.

The Hall has spectacular architecture in the formal rooms-really lovely. It has small but nice indoor pool and outdoors too. Nice billiard room with full size table. The Dining room is fabulous and the food was good but not true Fine dining. Breakfast was great. Was my second stay and I like this hotel. The atmosphere is great and lots of helpful staff. Afternoon tea in front of a log fire seems to be a speciality. It has a slightly old-fashioned feel and isn’t quite 5* but it has bags of charm and chilling out in the library or Oak room is delightful. The massage in the small beauty salon was very good indeed. Overall it’s value for money as similar type hotels cost a lot more and the Gardens and setting are lovely. It’s not In the top tier but it’s very good — rooms and bathrooms are large and nice, but not at the standard of the very best, but good enough and you will very rarely find drawing and dining rooms as stunningly nice as at Tylney Hall. It works and is worth staying at. I will go back again.

A beautiful and very traditional British land house (mansion! ) with beautiful rooms and very pleasant atmosphere. Doesn't get much more British than this really. Friendly staff and proper service. Splendid environment with large patches of green surroundings. All in all just a brilliant experience. Felt like being a guest in the Adams family house!

I never tire of visiting Tylney Hall. This particular visit was a really special one as my partner proposed to me on our last visit as we overlooked the lake at the bottom. Best day ever. I have so many hapoy memories here and this Just tops the lot. Staff are incredibly helpful. They will always try to accommodate you and make your stay special. Wonderful menu. Great drinks selection. Rooms are so spacious. They are dog friendly and make your pooches feel very welcomed. They even do a welcome package for the pooches. Spa is lovely and great services offered. You honestly can't get a more attentive stay.

I stayed with a friend for a Sunday night spa break and it was fantastic. The room was huge and very comfortable. Our spa treat was so relaxing with a very warm and calm pool area. The spa staff were very accomadating as I am six months pregnant. The dinner, which was included in our deal, was delicious and the dining room was bright and airy. A lovely walk around the beautiful grounds ended our stay. I can't recommend the hotel and spa enough. I thank the staff for making our stay so wonderful.

We just went for drinks but the bar was very refreshing and it was very ambient. Compared to the Four Seasons is very cheap and value for money. What are they doing work on hotel I thought there was a ghost and the ceiling was going to collapse but it's just a man with a drill. The waitress was very attentive.

My mum and I did the spa pamper day. All the star were excellent and attentive. We were shown around when we arrived and then had a cup of coffee by the fire. We went for a walk around all the grounds, which are beautiful. Then we spent a few hours using the gym, pool, whirlpool and sauna. We got lunch and another cup of tea. Lunch was a varied "lunch box". Mine was specially catered for lactose free. Then we went to the spa and had massages and facials. All for 100 pounds a person. Beautiful Hall and great value for money!

Went for brothers wedding. Beautiful grounds and venue. The staff were pleasant and service was mostly good. We were left waiting for nearly 2 hours due to an issue in the kitchen.

My friend and I booked an afternoon tea for a Sunday afternoon on advice on my friend who came several times here and was never disappointed. However, we had such a bad service that I will personally not go back there. We were the first one to be sat in the room and another couple arrived 5 minutes after us but their order was taken before ours. Then, when we were brought the afternoon tea, we were not explained what was the filling in the sandwiches or the type of cakes that we had. My friend was vegetarian and she only had 2 types of filling. Then, when I asked for more clotted cream, the waiter laughed at me like I was a greedy person and never came back with it. I had to ask another waiter for the clotted cream. The people next to us had to wait a long time to get their order taken and they became impatient. The pastries were nothing exceptional, not much choice. I really wished I had the balls to tell them I do not want to pay (£28.50, does not worth it). We obviously did not give any tip as it is not deserved. Also, we thought we would see some Christmas decorations as we went there at the beginning of December and that their website was talking about the "festive season" but nothing was up, just adding to the disappointment. Will not go back!

Hotel is nice if a bit dated. Room service food was very good. Unfortunately we had Room 15 which seemed lovely until we found it was above a function room. The noise of the party directly below kept us awake until after 1.30am. I don't think this room should be allocated when the function room is being used. There was also a huge crack in the wash basin. Should we expect this in a hotel of this standard and price? Also have to say the buffet breakfast was spoilt by having cold plates which meant breakfast got cold almost immediately. This really needs addressing. No comment cards available at reception! Overall not worth what we paid for an overnight stay and disappointed.

Not happy been to this lovely hotel before to celebrate our birthdays and enjoyed It very much which is why we came back. This time there was no room in the restaurant for us to have dinner. Really if you book into a 4 star or any hotel you expect that you can eat dinner in the restaurant and not end up with a salad on your lap in the lounge. They have in small print best to reserve a seat in the Oak Room! So why didn't anyone tell us that or ask us if we wanted a table when we booked our booking! ARGH! Really really not happy we spent this money to stay here to have a little luxury, sitting in a lounge with it on a small table is not good enough.

We went for afternoon tea. We were assured that the hotel catered for children. We had a friendly welcome and walked around the beautiful grounds before heading into the house for our afternoon tea. The food was lovely. We were a little disappointed that no options were offered for the children and we asked for more sandwiches as we had shared them with the children to be told that the kitchen was too busy and it would not be possible to have more. The children's high chairs were too small for a nearly 3 year old and we struggled with the 6 month old due to the highchairs having no straps. Trying to get the attention of the waiting staff for help, questions etc proved difficult as they were rarely in the room and then proceeded to have conversations in French around the guests. Overall a good quality of afternoon tea, let down by lack of children's facilities and the waiting staff. I wouldn't return for afternoon tea here.

Not your average hotel — the buildings and gardens are superb, with impressive public rooms and plenty of space. If you want something different, in a great location, definitely worth a try.

We stayed in an executive double room which placed us in one of the Lakeside Suites and it was beautiful. An absolutely lovely room very clean and very spacious. The room service was fairly fast and very good as was the buffet English breakfast. The grounds are also lovely. The staff are all attentive and excellent. We definitely will be back.

My family have been visiting Tylney Hall for many years and we absolutely love it. The staff have always been extremely attentive and caring. It’s a place where you can relax whatever the weather and know you will be looked after. As for their food, we have never had a bad experience and we have had the cream tea, private dining and dinner in the restaurant. Fabulous place and I envisage that we will be using it for many years to come.

One of the nicest hotels and gardens in the area. Won't be disappointed. On a nice summers day, strolls through the gardens and a nice aperol spritz will have you mesmerized.

Indoor/outdoor pools and spa Helpful staff and if you stay in the main house generous rooms sympathetic to the era of the house We went to an Opera Event which was well attended and a wonderful evening, 4 course meal included Although a little on the expensive side well worth it.

We've been coming to Tylney for around 20 years, it's a beautiful hotel with beautiful grounds. However, the food and service are always questionable. Sunday morning we popped in for coffee with the in-laws, took a good ten mins to be served. Waiter was very nice but appeared confused and stressed! Firstly the coffee arrived then 5 mins later the slightly burnt cookies arrived, 10 mins later he finally found gluten-free cookies for myself (by which time I had drunk coffee! ), and then a good 15 mins later after being reminded my Sons Coca-Cola arrived! As I said, nice chap but definitely not on the ball!

Very dated feel to the rooms and the majority of the buildings. The spa facilities were very poor, cold pools and Jacuzzi, no steam room and separate sauna for men and women (both absolutely tiny). However the grounds and the buildings looked very pretty with pleasant walks to go on. Restaurant food was good, glad we had pre-paid for food as prices were astronomical. Breakfast left a little to be desired. Overall was a nice getaway but I would not recommend this for a spa break.

We were in the rooms that allowed dogs, and there was food and bedding provided for our pet, but the room itself was a little run down. Although the hotel is dog friendly, you are not allowed to bring you dog anywhere near the main mansion house — which is understandable. Our meal in the restaurant on the Saturday night was tasty, but the service, although courteous and friendly, was rather slow. Sunday breakfast was another story completely. The buffet was empty, and so we and the guests at the table next to us, ordered off the menu. It took 45min to receive a cold hot breakfast, and all of us did not get what we ordered. As in the restaurant, we found all the staff courteous, helpful, and wearing friendly smiles. The grounds are beautiful, and the surrounding areas are wonderful. We walked to a nearby dog friendly pub for lunch, which was really good. All in all it was a good getaway, only let down by the breakfast.

Enquired about spa package, front of house were not very responsive about the request so put me on the phone to an advisor who quoted more than what I had been offered fro their web page before I walked in. No one seemed to want to show me around and when I did find someone I was at a pace of a slow jog. It's safe to say if you want to know about this venue try and find someone who has been. Never the less from what I did see my self and away from the 'too busy to talk staff, the grounds and hotel were spectacular. I would recommend going here, however patience is needed in abundance for the lack of interaction and customer care the staff offer.

The most beautiful hotel I have ever been to. My company paid £168 for my room that was upgraded for free on my arrival. The rooms were very nice but seemed just a bit above average comparing to the hotel itself which OUTSTANDING. They have nice swimming pool, apparently sauna that I never managed to find (they should work on their arrows / signs as they were not very clear). Gardens — on a nice day, just out of this world. Photos and walks in the very, very well looked after nature… Fantastic place, highly recommend.

Great hotel, amazing gardens, lovely rooms, and facility's. Unfortunately the restaurant lets it down roast potatoes that weren't very roasted, and toast that wasn't toasted when paying top whack there is no room for error.

Spent a few days here for an event and decided to stop on for an additional day and evening. Beautiful grounds, excellent attention to detail, lovely spa and pool, excellent service and food that was very well presented and tasted divine. The terrace area was particularly nice on a summers evening to sit with a drink. Very peaceful.

This place is amazing — a real treat to visit. So traditional, classy. If you're a tourist in the area, you have to visit. If you're a local, go for a special occasion. The food and service are always amazing and the grounds are incredible.

A beautiful hotel set in stunning countryside. Service is friendly and efficient, the rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable and the food is excellent. This was my second stay here and I will most certainly return.

If I could give this place no stars I would. I stayed here for work and have to say the service is horrible… couldn't get into my room until 3PM even though I arrived at 10am exhausted after a flight from the US. The hotel clerks don't understand customer service. In the states this would never fly. The ONLY reason this is a 4 star is because there is not much around. The food (unless your are getting served dinner as part of an event… wedding… business dinner, etc. ) is BEYOND sorry. I was hung up on by room service without even speaking to someone… the served me a desert I didn't ask for since they were out of what I ordered… couldn't get a decent meal to save my life, I could go on and on… I know by the reviews that I'm an outlier. I encourage others to share their negative experience. I will never go here again. It really speaks poorly of this area… that this is considered a 4 star… even though you're paying for the experience to spend the night in an estate… there has to be a better option. I feel sorry for this area that this is the only game in town.

I felt the hotel has not portrayed itself fairly on its website and the customer service was poor. The spa facilities are dreadful. The indoor pull was quite grubby and had room for only a few deck chairs at one end. This is not a spa facility by any means. If wanting a spa break, this is not a hotel to visit. The jacuzzi was only large enough for two people and the saunas were just stuck in the changing rooms. The hotel is large with over 100 rooms, so you can imagine the 3 indoor lounge chairs, 2 seater jacuzzi and (guess) 20m pool were fairly constantly occupied. The outside pool was lovely and very scenic. The water was heated and there was more seating here, but being the UK this is unusable most of the year for obvious reasons. The service was shoddy and uncaring. Staff were fairly terse and the operational systems were obviously flawed. The breakfast was a maul and tepidly warm, upon checkout nobody had any idea what we had actually ordered and the majority of guests leaving were complaining about various aspects. In the evening the food was as good as a reasonable gastropub and enjoyable / tasty. It is not high end dining. The building and grounds are really spectacular but neither of these factors can make up for the embittered environment of the hotel. The prices are astronomical for the quality, which I feel the owners (elite hotels) feel is there, but really is not. Pretty dreadful for the price. Go to Clivedon House instead.

Excellent room in main building at reasonable price. Dinner good but rather pricy. Plenty of things to do with pool, spa etc and extensive grounds. Staff helpful and friendly.

Lovely looking place but horribly managed. Staff are nice but don't have a clue, food quality is mediocre at best, and the afternoon tea, if they'll give it to you, is a joke. Many better places nearby. Go elsewhere.

Settled in a superb setting, this old english manor would be ideal for a bucolic vacation, mind the staff not up to par with a 4 star hotel.

Having had several afternoon teas here in the past and been very impressed, when I visited recently for an important family birthday afternoon tea the service was very bad, understaffed and feeble offerings and we dared to ask for more!, took an age for the drinks to arrive and be replenished I could have driven home and made a flask and a few sarnies in the time it took them to make us some more — we were only allowed 5 finger sarnies each and reaching accross the table to get some milk and tea, tiny pots between us a shortage of milk too I tipped my sarnies on the floor, couldn't bear to ask for any more. Not enough of anything had to ask for more all the time — it was embarassing, such a dissapointment — I don't think they cater so well for larger groups 5 or 6 is probably stretching it for them, a cold wintery day with no fires lit. A rather sad show I'm afraid contrasting starkly with the superb experience I've had here in the past.
