Full of refugees and the staff are awful rooms dirty and leaking roof.

Can not recommend it enough. The selection of sandwiches and cakes was lovely, beautifully presented and nothing was too much trouble. Staff were all lovely and attentive. This was a Birthday Present and a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Came for lunch which was really nice but when paying they said the machine didn't work and took payment twice. I called to get a refund as I didn't notice till I got home. They said send an email with proof and they will refund me tried ringing since and no awnser, still no refund. 4 weeks later.
I'm wondering it its something that is done regularly I'm literally going to have to go back in for any correspondence. Will not be using this hotel ever again. After reading other reviews I'm guessing it isn't doing so well.

Friendly staff nice food my partner is in a disability scooter and the staff could not have been more helpful.

My friend booked us a room at The Victoria Hotel the night before my wedding on the 19/08/20. The staff here are amazing! We were greeted with a bottle of champagne to celebrate the special event. The room was beautiful and spacious. We had a meal in the restaurant which was delicious. Breakfast in the morning was also fantastic. We were given glasses of champagne to celebrate again. Every member of staff was brilliant with us and congratulated us on our wedding in the morning. All in all it was a fantastic stay and I’ll definitely be staying here again! Thank you for making our stay so special.

Great location and food and bar excellent value. Rooms adequate but bathroom could do with a deep clean. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The room was actually quite nice here but my bathroom doesn't seem to have been cleaned. The staff were nice but a bit relaxed. It just took a long time to get your breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was just ok, nothing made me think yummy here. It's not in the city so if access to the city is needed then it might not be for you. Otherwise it's just an ok relaxed and friendly place.

Had a fantastic birthday party here. Well stocked bar and good choice of draft beer. Great buffet. All very well organised.

Very clean and comfortable, good selection at breakfast. Staff very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately being disabled my single room was on first floor was not ideal and no lift. The room was very small e. G. Sitting on loo shoulder knocking toilet roll off the holder!

Room was clean and the breakfast was fine, but those are the only good comments I can make. Evening meal was like a scene from Fawlty Towers. One customer had a bowl of tomato soup in her lap, another only had his main course when everyone else was eating their dessert, a child had to wait an hour and 40 minutes for her dinner, and if your starter was soup you waited 30 minutes for it!

Very nice hotel. The rooms are great and the breakfast choice is fab. Good price but would not suggest if you don't have a car. Not many public transport links so taxi only option if you want to get to Manchester centre.

Start extremely friendly and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble. Room very clean. Only thins that let us down is room was gery stuffy. No fan or air conditioning and this made it an uncomfortable sleep. No fan in bathroom and shower had little pressure.

It was a lovely hotel with good food and friendly staff. The room was clean and bright. I have stayed twice there when visiting family as it is near tram station. However I have 1 complaint. The room was too hot to sleep as we couldn't open windows to let fresh air in. I was told it's for health and safety reasons. If there was a fire in the hall way we wouldn't be able to get out so I disagree with that rule. I have had a room on ground floor and first floor and both rooms we were unable to open window.

The most awful disgusting hotel I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. I checked into a very small room that badly needed a renovation and was a twin. I had booked a double. After proving I had booked a double room, I was changed into a other room all of which I may add was in the early hours of the morning for my convenience. Then I later discovered the toilet didn't flush. The jobsworth at reception wasn't prepared to move me into one of the newer rooms as they were not authorised to do so, and suggested I waited till the morning. Then when morning came, no hot water! After 'discussing' this with reception and apologies for a boiler problem, I was moved into one of the newer rooms which had hot water, albeit with a low pressure, I was just thankful to shower. Then upon returning to my room later that day I had found all my things removed, I went to reception to enquire about my wandering belongings and was kindly told my things had been chucked into the first twin room as I 'had booked' a twin room! Unbelievable!

The only reason I give it a 3 star is the bar staff tried to hide the full menu because their chef had a busy night ahead… was given the sandwich menu type and once asked why a lady was served lasagne and it wasn't on the menu he told us that was the reason he didn't want to give us the full menu. Food was lovely though and everything else was too.

Not bad rooms quite large and clean bathroom very nice.

Really lovely afternoon tea with free prosecco, good choice of cakes and sandwiches with tasty scones. Highly recommend. Good value for money, would go again.

Excellent place to party or stayover, though at first glance location may look a bit hemmed in by traffic there's actually a very pleasant canalside walk to the rear, though easy to access, it could be made so much easier if the hotel fitted a convenient gate to the rear.

Great local hotel. Caters for parties, afternoon teas. And the rooms are warm and spacious.

Great place to stay and eat. Staff lovely and helpful. Celebrating my Anniversary for a second year hear. I cannot fault this Hotel for an occasion.

Rooms and beds were great. But the customer service was poor, I don't want to throw accusations out there and say it's because we were a bunch of black people. But we wanted to book the room for another night it was all booked till one of the staff burst into one of the rooms (no knocking) and said we had to leave as there has been another booking. The way they went about things was wrong, don't even deserve one star tbh.

Simply wow. Very nice hotel with cosey rooms and nice food. Polite friendly and very professional staff. Very quiet location though it is near to one of motorways. There is a Sainsbury's behind if one needs anything urgently. Few mins walk to a metro station. Overall very good experience.

Nice clean place but could do with beds that are bit more comfortable all the staff are great and very helpful. Has a Morrison's super market next door it's very handy.

Stayed here not long back. The staff were so lovely upon arrival, helped me to my room, even though it was upstairs. Then when in the room we found out the bed wasnt even a double bed, it was two singles pushed together, but realised this as my husband fell through the middle as it wasnt connected properly! It was an easy fix so wasnt anything to worry about! The bathroom however was so lovely! It was very modern, however the shower took a long time to heat up, and when it did heat up it was quite slow! One additional thing is that I couldnt enjoy a cheeky lie in as the check out time was 11am so had to be up at 8 to get bags prepared! Despite all this, it was the best 3 nights in a long time and would still definitly come here again — great hospitality guys, keep it up!

Lovely Christmas Dinner. Hot tasty Turkey and trimmings, nice starters and variety of puds. Pretty table settings and friendly staff. The hotel could do with some new carpet in main areas. Can't comment on rooms. Would go again. Christmas day with no hastle. Just brilliant.

As a muslim man dressed in traditional islamic colthing during the winter festivals not once did I feel uncomfortable at this hotel! The staff at reception 1st class service didn't have to wait long at all proper express service wanted some extra towels staff at checkin was on the case and when checkin out the next day got a proper good morning from a random Mancunian customer at the front shower&bathroom facilities spot on we had the family room 2 single beds and 1 double bed clean and comfortable.

Very good hotel. The personnel are polite and helpful. Incredibly clean and proper. Good breakfast with the option to select cooked food from a menu. The only small downsides are somewhat hard beds and the fact that we could hear our neighbor's TV late in the evening.

The staff were excellent I couldn’t fault them! However on my last night they a disco on down stairs, it was so loud I wouldn’t sleep, people were walking up and down the stairs the whole time! I complained to the man on duty on my way out and he said sure I know it too loud.!, the toilet was broken so the water kept dripping which was annoying especially at night! If they fixed the above I would give them a 5! Food was okay, breakfast was also okay, but the guys who delivered it were lovely!

Upon arrival I realised my room had nothing I was told it would have in it. After asking reception where all the items I had been told would be there (slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste etc) they told me I had booked a room/deal that they no longer offer or exists. This cost me £20 more than a ‘standard’ room. I spoke with somebody who brought me a toothbrush and toothpaste as I had none. However nothing has been done about refunding me the extra money I paid to stay in a room that was the same as everybody else’s!

Nice place to stay. Menu was OK and the Wi-Fi was good. No complaints from me.

Love this hotel. My sister got married here in august 2016. Had a great time. Then organised her baby shower again great service. The staff were wonderful and very helpful.

Would have been nice to have been put in rooms not above the drum and base wedding, as we were not part of the wedding party.

Food good. Bed lumpy in places. Shower fixing loose. Dirty room service tray left overnight in coridor. But fine really.

Lovely staff who know the customer is a human. Great facilities including meeting rooms and a health club. Loads of parking for free on site.

Efficient friendly staff. My room was spacious with a comfortable king size bed. Pleasant, quiet environment. Bliss.

Fairly classy Hotel with restaurant inside, rooms not too clean and prices above average.

I had a great time. A three star clean, it is not in the center but the tram station is a 10 minute walk and very frequent.

The staff were really friendly and willing to accommodate anything to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are OK, they're clean and then bed was comfortable enough. On the down side the rooms are a little small, but at then end of the day you're not spending every minute of your stay in the room so I could look past that. The food was great and again the staff would change anything if you asked them. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Went here for dinner for my mums 60th. Had private dining room. Service was excellent, food was good and reasonably priced.

W hat a special hotel the staff could not have been nicer this included me coming down in my jim jams for more milk when a wedding reception was in full swing the cheese board at dinner was great breakfast of smoked salmon/poached egg and spinach… sublime what a treat jean.

Nice clean rooms, great staff. Sandwich I had wasn't great. You ain't going for that though. Really nice place. Will stay again. Recommend.

Went to a training event. Good facilities. Catering excellent.

Good rooms, friendly reception staff, nice bar area. Good conference facilities with adequate refreshments. Location is a bit hard to get to on public transport.

The room was nicely decorated and clean, the bed was comfy, the bar was a reasonable price. Only problem I had was that the shower was a cold unless you also run the cold tap so my feet were freezing when I got out the shower.

1 star too many. Horrible staff. Disgusting manners. Rude. Dirty. Management are horrendous. Like staying at faulty towers. Stay away!

We arranged our 40th Wedding Anniversary celebration at The Victoria on March 29th 2015, From the outset everything was handled by Rachel Wardyn the events organizer who did a great job. We had to add six last minute guests to the meal and that was no trouble at all, during the event itself the room was very good, just the right size for our party, the food was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Just a slight hiccup with the sound system but it was sorted by Andy our able sound guy. All in All a great experience, we would recommend The Victoria to anyone wanting a well organized do. Close to the M60 motorway and Manchester City Centre, I have no doubt that this place has lots of potential especially to accommodate the business traveler. I have known this place for over 30 years, during that time, it has changed ownership several times and has been recently been rebranded and marketed as the Victoria Hotel. Apart from the cheap sofas in the reception area, the public spaces are pleasant enough. I recently stayed in a Executive Double room for one night and wished I hadn't. The bathroom was awful — hairs in the bath, a stained shower curtain and the remnants of wee under the toilet seat. I also rang reception for a room service menu that was dutifully delivered quickly only to be told that I would have to pay cash and couldn't pay by card if I wanted something — as it was 11pm and had little cash on me, I had no choice to find and eat at a local restaurant a mile up the road.

Went for afternoon tea, There was so much food I had to take some of it home, and you could tell it was all freshly prepared and that good quality ingredients had been used. Excellent value for money, excellent service, would certainly recommend it.
