Grim. Not cheap enough for how bad this is. The rooms do their best but they aren't ensuite, and the shared toilets are horrible. I think this is the only fully negative review I've ever left of a place, but unless this hotel was, say, £15 a night, I can't see a reason to stay here. The bed sheets clearly hadn't been changed either. Just awful I'm afraid. Don't save the money it's not worth it.

I booked a room for a night. I paid and checked in online and write a comment that I will arrive between 23:00 to 00:00. I booked it at 21:00 when I stop at service at motorway. I was driving from London to Manchester. Meanwhile, I tried to call them but no one pick up my call. When I arrive to that House, no one at reception. Front door was open, tried to ring phone number from the door which is different with email confirmation number but no one answer. I can hear phone was ringing inside the reception but no one there. IN CASE OF FIRE, THERE IS NO ONE THERE TO GUIDE ALL THOSE GUESTS WHO STAY THERE… (I shouldn’t give any star but I cannot post it without giving them a star)

Untrustworthy staff. Rings stolen out of my room. Wifi costs money. Hidden charges everywhere, go elsewhere, there are other cheap places that are better.

For the price you really can't complain, the guy on reception was very pleasant. The rooms are more than acceptable for the price and there was plenty of parking. The bathrooms are shared but that was not a problem for our short stay. Idea for somewhere to crash after a good night out.

CHECKED OUT FASTER THAN CHECKING IN! I can honestly say I have never taken the time to write a bad review but this one needs it! We wouldn't want anybody loosing out on money like we have. Pictures on website look nothing like the real thing! Location isn't very nice, opposite an old derelict nursing home. The smell was disgusting on arrival, there was 5 of us with 2 rooms and both rooms were terrible! Damp all over walls and locks broke on the doors, sockets hanging out the wall. The communal bathroom was that small you could only open the door half way because the toilet blocked it. We told the lady at reception we weren't going to stay and she wasn't even at all concerned as to why we had paid and now didn't want to stay! She just said ok, that's grand. So although she greeted us ok, I still think they need to be much more concerned when guests are checking out 5 minutes after checking in. We will definitely be taking further action to try and get a full refund. We went for a fun weekend away with friends and this ruined it for us! We paid about £170 for the one night at Hendham House and ended up in the Britannia country house hotel which was amazing! Very clean, lovely staff, beautiful area, even said if one was available they would give us an upgrade because of the trouble we had been through with Hendham House! And paid less to stay there as well!

The staff were friendly and welcoming but it was one of the most un hygienic places we've stayed in. Cost £10 for a taxi to the city centre but its easier to catch a bus. The home cooked breakfast was delicious but we were appalled that we could only shower once during our 2 night stay due to the bathroom not being cleaned. The toilet was not cleaned either and I had to ask for more toilet roll. At night there was lots of noise. People banging doors and coming in drunk. Will not be staying again. Would pay more in future for better quality accommodation nearer the city centre.

Well what a week I had here, just the place you want to come back to after you finish work (sarcasm) I wasn't sure if I was going to get mugged by the local crack heads and constant people standing out front, I have to admit I was actually scared going for a smoke. I'm not 100% sure but I assumed it's actually a hostel. Showers were cold and basically dribbled on my freezing naked body, it would have been warmer laying in a box freezer. Most the time the place felt like a sauna so I spent most my time sweating my ass off like I was in the Caribbean. All in all wonderful experience (again sarcasm)

First impressions was, the area wasn't very nice, other visitors staying said to us before we entered "good luck, they had the bailiffs in last night! " When we walked in, the building seemed to have an odd musty odor. The room was very small, considering there was three beds. The sheets had stains, the mattresses were dirty, the beds looked like they were falling apart, the sheets had an odd odor, the mirror provided was broken also Our bedroom window did not close properly, nor lock, which made our room very cold. The lock on the door was faulty, and a employee just walked into our room (presumably unaware we were in the room). The over cleanliness of the room was poor, having found bugs and a dead fly. Despite this, the employees were very kind, and friendly.

We stayed at the Hendham House for an evening, night and morning. It was terrible. Dirty curtains and windowsills, cobwebs. Windows with slits and do not close, draught creepy. The front door zakryvalasi with force. The furniture is broken. The beds are very high and for the low people very uncomfortable. There are no separate chairs in the rooms. Clean only bed and towels. Generally Hendham House clean not shine. And most importantly, Wi-Fi is not free even in public areas, we were asked to 5funtov, for such money should be Wi-Fi in the room. On account of food I did not even risk… Yes, there is no boiling water separately, it is also paid… Of course we bought a cheap price, but with a beautiful photo on Sjte, all this is not true. We 100% more in Hendham House will not stop! And we will not advise friends!

So dirty smiley all bad people you find in that hotel staff are very very rude and scary I want last night with my family with a kids and I run a way same moment my wife she was so scared and I lost 35 pound never seen dirty place like this hotel in before… photo online are fake be careful before you book any hotel reed all reviews.

Rubbish rubbish rubbish please don’t go to that hotel is no guest house is a ghost house please don’t spend your money in rubbish hotel staff are very rude never seen hotel in Britain like this I come from Germany is shame seen hotel like this in uk authorities should clouse down that place.

On the top floor no lifts beds extremely uncomfortable. Place was very noisy all doors banging children screaming, have to pay for tea and coffee. Door to the room was very loose. Not clean, dead wasp at the window and because of window rotting it was very draughty. Would not recommend staying here.

No tea or coffee facilities in room “you can purchase this from the dining area form 7am” no good if your leaving for work at 6:15

Expensive, very far from downtown, you have to pay all also internet… personal not kindly…

Despite reading all the comments we were warmly welcomed and felt immediately at ease. Very accommodating for all our needs. The room for three was perfect for the price and our one night stay. We would come again.

Plac is average nothing too good or too bad but price is good.

Nice, cheap hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfy.

The Hotel didn't seem look great when we arrived but we were fine with that given the price we were paying. The worst thing though was that I woke up in the morning with bites all over my body from bed bugs! the bugs had travelled home with me in my luggage, I've had them in my room for weeks and cant get rid of them. I wouldn't recommend this place until they have sorted out the problem.

Close to town just a short taxi away, spacious rooms and good service.

Complete dive, no heating in the room, mattress on bed basically bare springs, doors broken, front door key didn't work. Filthy place, wouldn't let my dog stay, booked another hotel and left early.

Very pleasant especially given the low cost of staying there, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and professional.

Wasn't very well kept, one small shared bathroom per floor and the landing light didn't work. Also nothing was mentioned about the situation with returning to the premises even though through conversation they were aware we were going out and we ended up locked out of the building until somebody could arrive to let us in. The walls had marks and stains inside the room which felt uncomfortable. One plus point is that over all the lady who worked reception was friendly and she did over to make me a drink in the morning while waiting for a taxi. She's the only reason for the star though.

We stayed the hotel last night. Though we were obliged to a big room but it was smelly and disgusting beds were placed. We parked in the premises. BEWARE: 5000£ worth of phones were stolen from car. There are no cameras covering parking area. Feels like staff is involved. So can't do nothing about it. Would not recommend it, though the rent was strikingly low. Uncontrolled parking keeps dodgy people coming in all night.

The 'nice photos' of this hole are a fabrication of the truth, absolute hole and tif the health and safety executive bothered to check these places I have no doubt this one would be shut down! Unfortunately my thoughtful bosses have booked for me and the f**ks they give equate the the ones given by the owners of this establishment towards they're patrons! Avoid at all costs!

We were the one to sleep last night… dirty… starting from the sheets to the white towels with all yellow spots and hair attached… The windows do not close because "no handle, and disgusting bathroom… Dirty… I will never go back… we slept clothes and still felt dirty… amazing how it can stay open!

Not great location, our room was very basic, dirty and beds were either lumpy or broken. Complained and got different room to the hotel's credit. Not enough bathrooms to rooms (3/23)!

Very poor hotel, beds very uncomfortable, dirty with marks and stains on the walls. Shared bathrooms very small, you have to wedge yourself in to use the toilet and shower. The staff were acceptable but I wouldn't call them welcoming. The only positive was the area was quite.

The location of the hotel was reasonable. Good stores nearby and places to eat. The road it is located on is not great but it was a safe environment. The room we had was good and served our needs (just somewhere to sleep). Really limed the comunal aspect of the place. The service was reasonable and friendly… showing us to our room and checked in/out quickly. I would stay there again.

Perfectly fine if you aren't expecting all the amenities of more expensive hotels. Good place to get your head down.

Never go with it! Better spend few extra bucks and get some good environment. U get only bed and TV in a room. No minimum stuff like coffee maker, wash basin in the room. You aren't allowed to bring ur own n prepare either.

Friendly and Trustworthy I stayed 5 knights the staffs are always happy to help even you can have breakfast very early in the morning Nice double room they gave me for the single room Wifi available Nice and clean heatings on all the time Washing facilities all working and good water flow rate hot and cold Car parking available Quite and nice also got sky and TV in my room Very welcoming I am staying in a palace but I paid reasonable price? All ok and Good Good.

Iv never stayed here. But I live near. And the people who stay hete have no respect for the serounding area. Allways shouting n screeming at night. So if you stay here at all plz keep the noise down. Remember those who are trying to sleep.

On arrival had a lovely warm reception from paul and karen, rooms warm, cosy and extremely clean, could'nt fault the rooms at all. Good traditional home made food in cosy surroundings. Would definitely reccommend to anyone visiting or working in manchester so much so booked to stay again. Many thanks paul and karen for being brilliant, attentative hosts.

I stayed at Hendham House recently with my two children. Our arrival: We received a friendly greeting. The room: big with plenty of storage. However the beds creaked every time we moved. We were next door to the shared bathroom so didn't have far to travel but unfortunately heard everyone else coming and going — the fire doors to the rooms were very loud as they banged shut. Disappointment: A waste paper bin sitting proudly on a huge tub of paint — not a welcoming feature! My daughter found a Pepsi can balanced on a curtain track — was the room cleaned and prepared before we arrived?! Three windows in the room but only two sets of curtains. No sink in the room which became a huge problem the first morning when we wanted to clean our teeth and couldn't use the bathroom because it was in use. I'm not sure how many bathrooms there are in the hotel but it could definitely do with more. The bathroom itself is poor. It is in need of decorative repair so visitors don't have to look at a hole in the ceiling. The shower is less than powerful and when attached to the holder on the wall doesn't spray water far enough out to reach you. There is no plug for the bath. No drinking facilities in the room. It would have been nice to make teas and coffees in the room. We wanted a cup of tea and coffee on our first morning but at 8.30am the lounge area still wasn't open. We were told that the manager had been called and would be bringing a key in.

Arrived to be greeted by the friendly Arthur who was very welcoming and pleasant. Unfortunately thats where the niceness ends. Now I was on a girly night and we are not snobs and can rough it with the best. But as we went into the room it was clear it wasnt looked after. Cigarette butts in the bin and a plastic bag covering the smoke alarm?! Broken lighting and we had to pull the bed back to turn off the radiator pumping out heat. Clearly not cleaned before we got there. The fact that there was no bathroom did not bother us however the fact you are unable to shut the broken shared bathroom door was a worry and made using the bathroom a scary lottery. Went to get a cup of the free tea facilities on offer to find no cups at all in the dining area-gave that a miss. This place could be so much better if little things were sorted. Plus the whole place is pretty filthy. I dont mind roughing it and I wouldnt stay again. They need to improve standards dramatically the whole place looks and feels very unloved.

Don't know what drugs ppl who gave good reviews are on, the place is an absolute hell hole. Situated in the suburbs on Manchester in a dead end road with a boarded up derelict building opposite. The hotel is NOTHING like the pictures on the website. Rooms were dirty, TV not wrkn, had to share toilets wgich wasn't mentioned on website, bath was full of hair and tiles were black. Bin was full. Hallway carpets have never seen a hoover in their life. Left after a few hrs to check into a premier inn.

Awful hotel, awful staff and awful area. From the outside the hotel looks like a cheap council estate, opposite a boarded up building at the end of a very run down and unsafe road. Only 2 bathrooms we could use, one bathroom did not lock properly and the shower was cold and overflowing. In the other bathroom the toilet was blocked and the soap from the shower was on the floor. We were also over charged for our rooms compared to what was said on the Internet and the staff were extremely unorganised when we arrived. I do not recommend this hotel and will definitely not be returning.

Warm welcoming place. Defiantly will stay here again. When we arrived got checked in quickly by "Dom" who was very helpful and informative. Hotel was spotless. Overall comfortable time whilst @ the manchester parade.

Stayed here with my girlfriend for a weekend in march, loved it. great hospitality, rooms were clean, breakfast was lovely. would recommend to anyone wishing to visit the area.
