Stair railings were loose, carpets in stairs and hallways were dirty, breakfast was only stale pastries, hard boiled eggs and canned fruit. Coffee/cappuccino machine was only saving grace for me… We didn’t realize when we booked that there was no A/C. Our travel agent asked if we could check out the next day instead of staying 3 more nights due to a medical condition and he refused. Only gave us a fan with no face protective cover on it. No idea where they got the pictures from for their website because they look nothing like the rooms. Rooms have barely enough room to walk, the sheets are gray from being old, you can’t change in the bathroom and have to jimmy yourself around the sink in order to sit on the toilet and I’m very short… No idea how my friend who is tall managed. The rooms were not cleaned very well either. Very disappointed. Only plus was the cappuccino machine and the convenient location for buses and train.

The room was functional, window opened but was surrounded by walls and in 30°c heat not that fun! Breakfast was bleak, hard boiled eggs and beans was about as good as it gets! I mean for somewhere to put your head down for the night, it will do. Just dont expect anything more.

We didn't spend much time in the room thankfully. If you just want a comfortable bed, affordable rates, and a decent breakfast, it's fine. But it's REALLY small!

Old facility, everything very tight, nothing dolles, easy, staff very friendly, cleanliness okay.

Nice hotel, close to Paddington Underground station, lots of restaurants and little shops nearby. The street in which it is located is absolutely fabulous with the green park.

The room we stayed was very small, with a really small bathroom. The location is the major attribute of the hotel, several things to do nearby, very close to hide park. The ladies on reception are great, the is a guy who is a little bit rude, nothing that will spoil your trip. Another point is that there is no elevator, I don't think it is accessible for wheelchair.

Friendly staff but the room can be very small.

It was a place to lay your head but unfortunately when I did lay my head down in the basement room they gave me I didnt do much sleeping. Having a room that felt like the radiator set to 'melting' had the added bonus of the noise of the heating kicking in every hour or so it could have even been the underground, whatever it was it spoilt my stay although the continental breakfast was what saved it and the shower was powerful this was what earned them a two star instead of a no star review.

The location is great, the hotel is located at a small square close to Paddington station. Hyde Park is close by and all kinds of restaurants are within walking distance. The rooms are ok by size, but the bathroom is way too small. It's also quite noisy. You hear people walking upstairs and water going thru the pipes in the walls. Breakfast is ok, not too much choice. But everything is there. Staff is friendly.

Basic accommodation, but close to Paddington station. If you aren't looking for fancy and spacious, this is a good place.

The staff there were friendly, the breakfast was minimal, but we managed to be happy with the toast (available upon request) and coffee from machine. The room was incredibly small, and I have no word to describe the bathroom. I am a small asian woman, and even I couldnt turn around without bumping into something. My partner complained endlessly while we were there :) no elevator, so we walked up many narrow stairs with our luggages! plus, a drunk man was screaming and shouting for about an hour at 2am, interrupting our sleep.

The 3 beds room is on the 3rd floor with no elevators and is so small that once you bring in your suitcases you can barely get to the bed. The bathroom is a joke. If you sit on the toilet you are touching the sink with your teeth. You can really go standing up either unless you hold yourself at an angle. There bath is probably 2.5 feet by 4 at best. The sheet were stained with blood. To top it off I had to kill a big roach in the bathroom on our first night there. When we mentioned it at the reception we were met by funny remarks and the attitude of "what you want me to do about it". The free internet is incredibly slow. The place is only good to crash for a night if you are desperate for something close to the Paddington station.

Noisy with wood flooring, worse if you give on the street with the simple glazing. Bathroom cramped, head in the sink when you're on the toilet. And no repairs made: toilet seat broken, lamp cover over the sink burned, my daughter almost took it on the head and of course no neon underneath.

Ah… this hotel is a joke… I have never seen a bathroom so small that I could clean my teeth in the sink whole sitting on the toilet and close the door without moving! And shower was either freezing or boiling hot.

Clean but extremely small hotel. No lift, tiny bathrooms, TVs barely work, uncomfortable beds. Decent breakfast. Okay if on a budget for one night with light luggage.

Small room with three small singles crammed in. Bathroom was tiny no room to turn around. Shower wouldn't drain properly so had to be in and out before it flooded. Light leading down the stairs to where our room was didn't work so had to tackle stairs in the dark. Beds wasn't very comfy! No aircon which meant leaving the window open which was onto the street basement room)

Cheap Hotel without any luxury.

Strongly do not recommend this hotel despite location. Hotel is poorly kept. The room they had for us was up four flights of extremely narrow stairs — no elevator. The room was so small when my daughter and I were in it with our suit cases there was nowhere to walk. They quoted one price on the phone then charged us more when we showed up. They charged the entire stay on my credit card at check-in then refused to credit the amount when we had a chance to see the room and it's inappropriateness. We relocated to another hotel. I have had to dispute the charge with my credit card company to resolve the matter. I would give it No Stars if that was an option.

Location very good, treated very nice. Rooms very small and bathroom tiny.

Bathroom without a shower with the drain in the floor. It floods the whole bathroom. We requested a room change, and made the deaf.

We were in January of 2017 in this hotel. The rooms do not resemble the photos that they post on their site. We stayed two nights, the first night there was no light in the room or in the bathroom, but strangely there was a nightlight with a dim light that we could turn on. Any day we had hot water, imagine taking a shower with cold water in January. The last day we ask for breakfast at 7:50 (to catch the bus to the airport) instead of at 8:00 that is the time to open up the dining room and to our surprise was that they didn't let us. At 7:45 they had already put the breakfast in the dining room and returned to ask if we could go to breakfast and we returned to say no. In my opinion is not advisable, moreover, it has 4 floors and has no lift. And on his page to indicate that it is valid for the disabled. It is enough that you see the photos of the hotel, has stairs to llwgar at the entrance and no ramp. Subrealista.

The bath room was tiny. The hotel needs a coat of paint. The wardrobe is also very small. At breakfast there were two types of pastries, the cusles were always hard.

Brilliant location. The room was a perfect size for the cost and everything was clean and well prepared. The folded towels were a lovely touch. The shower was nice and had good water pressure. The only criticism is that the bathroom was very small.

Edtuvimos only a night (thankfully). Room on 4th floor. Impossible to climb with luggage (no elevator). The only good thing, location. I do not recommend it. Beside the Chrysos Hotel is with similar and better rates.

Terrible trying even to book. Hotel contacted me and asked to send Credit Card details again by Email! In this day and age this kind of poor data security leads to fraud. So had a rude women from reception call and ask for details and belittling my concern with security issues. Threatening to give up my room if a pre-authorisation was not made. So meant had to find another hotel last minute. Fortunately I found a hotel "Lancaster Hall Hotel" which has much better reviews and sorted the hotel and paid in less then two minutes. I am worried about this Hotel's view to data security and for this reason alone I would avoid them.

I got a room on 4th floor for a single night. No elevator. The stairs to floor 3 and 4 are only passable if you are a good climber. The room was like a submarineroom. Bath and toilet lesser than 1m2. No light. The bed was from ww2. I will never use this hotel again.

Stay here if you want inexpensive and convenient accommodation. Don't stay here if you need a good nights sleep. Excellent location as close to Paddington station and pubs. Great price for London. Lousy rooms that are very small and simple. Horrible nights sleep since you can hear every movement from other floors and rooms above and below, as well as the street outside. And the clientele seem to be night Owls so the noise goes late into the night.

Nice and gentle people there, especially a girl that works on the brekfast area from spain. Nice location but the worst for me was listenning the water throug the plumming each time people on the hotel uses the bathroom.

Avoid it. It's relatively cheap and close to Paddington yes, BUT: — it's dirty — they have bedbugs — they do NOT have a luggage storage room, so when you check out, you have to take your bags with you.

I have spent two nights in the very pig Ashley Hotel, sharing bed with a regiment of bedbugs, which by the way, have not paid their share of the price of the hotel, and have dined on the face. Foul and disgusting hotel, only suitable for people with English sense of cleaning.

In the hotel Ashley, us have set in that them services are malis, them towels if these a week only you the change two days, and if out shortly, the day previous to us we were us them removed without notice. And to all who leean these comments, especially this one, I think that already should be changing hotel. Because still there is more. The bathroom was small. The ground was that is caia, mattresses were malis is noticed the docks! It was our worst stay in a hotel. I have read other reviews that I have been surprised. Clear that also I notice that this hotel is for 2 people.
