Stay at this hotel at the risk of your property being stolen by their staff. I was a guest at this hotel 5th — 9th November. During my time there my sennheiser headphones worth £150 were taken from my room. Despite not wanting to publicly share this information, after 5 weeks of no follow up or action being taken from the hotel I feel as I have exhausted all other options at this point. I have spoken to reception staff, management and customer relations, emailed head office and never got a reply back from any. I have been chasing this up every week since my stay and still nothing has happened. I am a very patient person and feel like that has been tested to the limit. Myself, my family, or my friends will not being staying at a holiday inn again.
This hotel shows they have no integrity when they tolerate staff stealing guest property and ignore the guest who has been wronged.

Have stopped in a few holiday inns in the past, but this one is superior by far, very friendly, helpful, nothing is too much trouble, very clean an great location. Would highly recommend.

So we checked online to check availablity which showed plenty of room options as we were close to the hotel we decided not to reserve a room and just walked in. Soon as we entered the reception we were greeted by a pompous gentleman who told us that they where fully booked. I explained to the man that I had seen they have a selection of different rooms available online which then prompted him and all of a sudden there where rooms. The price online to which the ones he gave us all were £30 more expensive which seemed bit strange. Given the late hour my partner and I wanted to sleep and didn’t question it. Come to payment: we wanted to pay cash and told that wasn’t an option? Who doesn’t take cash? Then decided he wanted a £50 cash deposit so we could pay in cash! which once again I have never been asked before considering I stayed the perovois night and had none of these problems nor had to leave any money behind. We finally made it up to the room to find the key he had given wasn’t even registered with our room. When I got to the desk the same man assured me it does work and implied I was using the card incorrectly, which made me feel very uncomfortable as I am able to work a tap card! We finally managed to get in the room, the air con was sooo noisey and the buttons barely move so we had to freeze, very annoying considering I paid 135 for one night which I checked in at 11pm.

The staff absolutely make this hotel! Colin the Sales Manager and Idris on the front desk couldn’t do enough to help ensure our stay was a good one! Good location for walking to Surbiton or Kingston. Will be undergoing re-brand in near future but services were as normal. Super brekkie too — asked for more eggs and mushrooms and they were brought out immediately! Will be back!

Awful hotel which thinks throwing functions in the week until after midnight is a good idea even though this hotel is included in packages with Chessington world of adventure, where families mostly want a good night sleep for their day in the park. I complained to the hotel the next day and they said they were giving discounts because of so many complaints, but we couldn't have one because we paid through Chessington as a package. So very unhappy costumer who won't be staying in a holiday Inn again.

A well-located hotel with views across the Thames and a quiet marina. Desk staff great and my (upgraded) room was comfortable and spacious too. Breakfast ok and the dining room is quite large and light.

Very disappointed for the price we paid £398 for two for two nights. View from window was onto a flat dirty roof, covered in artificial turf, stroun with littler and areas were the turf had been removed. A plate of half eaten fruit was on the floor outside the room for over half a day. Even though I told a member of staff about it. We ate in one night in the bar. I paid by debt card and when I was given the receipt I noticed a service charge had been added. It actually said discretionary service £3.20 I wasn't asked if I wanted this to be added. When I challenged it I was told we always add it. I said its discretionary, which means if I want to pay it. The waiter just walked away.

Nice looking hotel public areas and bedroom. Friendly Staff. Clean. Free Wi-Fi. Weak water flow in the bathroom shower. Wi-Fi speed in the room not fit for streaming.

The location is good for my work nearby but otherwise may not be good for you. Being by the river is nice. Food is quite good and service is great.

So where can I start stated in the holiday in express about three weeks ago for a charity do when we got there it was quite late so we had a quick drink in the bar when I've got changed it was black tie. Staff are friendly and the food was nice and the night was going well but as I was tired I decided to go up early to my horror as I pulled The curtains there was a dirty pair of pants lying behind them so I started to look around the room it was dirty skin all round the bed mattress oh my God and the filth behind bedside cabinets the next morning I complained and asked to see the manager manager was not for half an hour so they would ring me later when I got home. No phone call three times I was promised a call still waiting if I was you I would not stay there dirty place and staff and management that are not bothered.

Really nice, clean hotel with helpful friendly staff. There is quite a long walk from the car park to reception. You can park out front girl 10 minutes if you have a lot of stuff with you though. Has the amenities you would need as a business traveller but Expensive for what it is.

Staff were really helpful (apart from the night we asked when breakfast finished & were told an hour later than it did) the rooms were great, the food in the restaurant is good. Breakfast was always good. Nothing bad to say about the place really.

Frustrating if you're disabled. Lift from lobby to restaurant was broken so you had to go outside and come back in through the street access. Not great if it's raining. Huge bed in room restricts wheelchair access. Silly sink in bathroom that was so low that your knees stopped you getting near it in a wheelchair. Staff were lovely though.

A bit of an out of the way location, this hotel is NOT located in Kingston town (or even Kingston borough). That being said, it's modern, clean and the staff were incredibly friendly. It's a 15 minute walk along the main road to many restaurants & bars in nearby Surbiton.

A good hotel in an ideal location overlooking the River Thames. 10 minutes walk from Surbiton railway station or 20 minutes into Kingston upon Thames. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely rooms with all the facilities Adequate car parking at the rear with security cameras.

Sunday lunch was tasty and good quality, staff were very attentive. Only criticism is that the menu is not very flexible. The cost is £27 for 3 courses and 1 hour of free cocktails (limited range). It is not possible just to have a main for a lower price. That's not to say it isn't good value, just make sure you turn up hungry!

Went for Sunday carvery with family. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was good quality for reasonable price.

Couldn't get the basics right. No smile or good morning from the person co-ordinating breakfast. No offer of tea or coffee even though people were tidying the buffet. Ordered taxi Via room service who said they would call. After 20 min wait we went to reception to chase and was told (after much prompting) that another guest had taken it. No apology or appreciation of where this left us. I was informed I would receive an electronic guest experience e-mail which I have still not received. Very poor experience and as a business traveller the bottom line is there are many other hotels that are similar priced and get the basics right.

Good hotel for staying at events at the Sanodown racecourse. The double room was roomy — no wardrobe in mine though. Angled phone chargers beware, as plugs are in very awkward positions. If you need a cab in the morning book it well in advance, as traffic is ridiculous.

Decor is lovely, location is good, friendly and helpful staff. I personally found the bed soft and overly warm which didn't make for a great night's sleep, but this is more on me than the hotel. The twin room had a bath tub/shower combo which was just a bit small for me to have a proper soak. When used as a shower in the morning I found the curvature of the tub to be very uncomfortable to stand in, all part of the space saving. Overall a pleasant stay.

Small express hotel but all the luxury off a proper hotel. Stay was perfect staff was good… my room was reasonable size and bathroom waa good and clean. Breakfast was bang on… Only suggestion would be if they had a better selection of complementary tea 8nthe room… Like I would be soo happy if they put decaff tea in the room to relax myself after a long day… Rest was all good.

Very nice middle market hotel, event room was brilliant and well decorated, 3 course meal and event buffet was AMAZING! Drinks at the bar I felt were pricey but I'm not used to London prices! A cider and large wine was £15… Hotel room was nicely decorated (looks quite new) the bed was not comfortable, there was a dip in the middle which meant a bad night sleep for the two of us not wanting to sleep on top of eachother. Some of the staff were great and others not so helpful but overall a lovely event and a nice stay over!

Lovely rooms comfortable and quiet. Great location for Hampton Court and Twickenham Stadium. Great bar and bar meals. Thoroughly recommended.

We had a school prom in their downstairs event room. It had it's own little bar and was a decent size. Service was good.

Nice hotel in good location for Richmond, Hampton Court and Kingston. Staff friendly the two main problems are the car parking which is poor and you get conflicting information from the staff where you can park once the car park is full. The bar closes early and there is no where to get a light snack if you don't want restaurant dinning.

Staff very friendly and polite. Unfortunately in the room there was no information on how to use the safe, a double socket on dressing table was falling if the wall, the balcony chairs were dirty and wet and there was no price list if any to advise on charge for anything taken from cool box. Lovely view from balcony. Parking 160 yards away and undercover so very good.

Without charm room make a brick wall, staff a little condescending, dining room too crowded to circulate. Getting out of the shower tub is perilous. Comfortable though.

Great Hotel, the room was clean modern and had very good view. The hotel service was excellent, people working in the hotel was very helpful and pleasant. The cafe/bar has decent choices and reasonably priced. The hotel is also near some fantastic restaurants 20 minutes walk away in Maple Village. The taxi company "Crown Cars" was recommended to us by the Hotel was also very good. The hotel is best accessible by car and bus.

In the overall, I found my stay with the tour group from P & P very pleasant. Small issues have been resolved with a smile, and the small gym was a 24-hour free available. There, very many different devices are housed, in a relatively small space so that lacks a trained amateur athletes to nothing. The devices are of very high quality and function properly.
The breakfast buffet was good, but unfortunately there was the same every day, here and as Andrés fruit or sausage and cheese variations would be a suggestion, vll something cake, pancakes…
What I didn't like, that despite its I no room cleaning sign was hung up, was a day my room has been cleaned up. That was uncomfortable to me.
Very nice staff, especially the German lady, all our well-being were concerned. Like I would visit again this hotel for a further stay with upholstery and Pohl. And change the little details — there's still the 5th star to :-) greetings from Chemnitz.

Clean, modern rooms, quiet despite location on main road, efficient check-in / check-out, pleasant 2K walk along river into central Kingston.

This is a top Hotel! Very modern and spotless clean and although most of the staff are foreign they are extremely courteous and helpful! Excellent breakfast in a fashionable dining room! A 20 minute walk along the Thames takes you in to Kingston town. Would thoroughly recommend!

Service was polite, but very slow. We had to wait for our table to be ready even though we got there for our reservation time. There were only 4 parties, and maybe 6 or 7 waiters so I'm not sure why we had to wait 10 minutes for a pot of tea to arrive after ordering. Very courteous though, and a nice goodbye when we left. Afternoon tea was one of the worst I've ever had, sandwiches and cakes were bland with a rubbish selection. Scones were great though, tasted lovely!

Just had an amazing mothers day lunch, 3 course buffet and a glass of pressco. All food was great and plenty of it and the staff very attentive. Lovely relaxed setting with beautiful set tables and white linen, nobody rushed you it was so relaxed and friendly, even had piano playing and a free photo framed by the photographer (NICE LITTLE TOUCH MY MUM WAS SO PLEASED WITH HER PHOTO). Would love to use again for another event, thanks holiday inn team great family time had by all.

Great hotel for business travellers and family alike. Comfortable rooms with everything you expect and the best breakfast I've had in a hotel for a long time!

Bar service to buy drinks was a little slow and the team had some problems, but other than that the stay was great. Nice room, great breakfast, and easy to get to from a night out in surbiton.

Convenient for Kingston, although closer to Surbiton station. Rooms are fine though a little small. Food is good in the restaurant although fairly limited choice.

A very nice hotel, with excellent staff. I arrived early, and room wasn't ready, but they arranged for my room to be prepared, and brought me a coffee whilst I waited. I was feeling unwell at the time, and this was much appreciated. Room was spacious and airy, with a balcony.

Enjoyed breakfast; fresh, delicios, clean and friendly atmosphere. Especially fried egg (ㄱㅖ란후ㄹㅏ이) is the best.

Excellent. We went for one night with my elderly parents for our sons graduation, the hotel was immaculate and location to everything was easy to get too, the river is right across the road; but views of it from your room are only available in the executive rooms. The room were spacious and very comfortable; however they need to upgrade their PILLOWS, paper thin and had to fold them in half to get any kind of comfort at night unfortunately. We were in a standard room, so not sure if this is the case for the executive rooms. Reception staff were very attentive and allowed us to have a late check without any extra cost or hassle even though they were fully booked on the Monday; I did however negotiate with the receptionist to join the reward scheme. Bargain for the comfort for my parents! We got to keep one room and it was spacious enough for all of us to stay and get ready without feeling cramped. Leave our car in their free car park (always a plus with us) even after we had checked out till after the late graduation. Thank you! Alex the receptionist was amazing and turned his had to what ever needed to be done to get us too and in our rooms after our long drive to Kingston, "Alex I commend you high level of customer service even though you have only been in your role for 4 months" Also Cristina and Elena for helping try and locate a missing package that should have been delivered but did not turn up, I appreciate your help and support.

Myself and my boyfriend had a marvelous stay! We were here to celebrate his birthday! The staff could not of been nicer! See you in 2015!

The staff are so friendly, room is spacious, clean, well decorated. The only downside is our view of a BRICK WALL. I would suggest speaking to staff on check in and cheekily asking for a river view if available. The brick wall is quite imposing and blocks out all sunlight, and being on the first floor, there isn't much natural light coming in. Bricks are a nice shade of beige though ;) Will definitely stay here again.

We booked an expensive package for the London marathon which included a coach to the start line. Despite booking several months in advance and several requests for the time of the coach that information was only made available upon arrival. The coach time was 6am for a 30 minute journey for a race that starts at 10am with breakfast at 5.30am. Unacceptable and the deliberately withheld information for what is a stressful even though at the best of times means I will personally never trust holiday Inn again. And the room was small and disappointing. Rubbish.

The first time I stayed at the Holiday Inn Kingston I was greeted with “guest of the day” status which awarded me an executive upgrade to a balcony room with complimentary fruit and drinks. This of course was well received and the room I was allocated was clean and comfortable. The bed was excellent, and a choice of hard/soft pillows as standard is a great idea. On this visit I did not eat-in although when I used the bar the staff were polite and courteous. The next time I returned to the hotel it was for a longer stay. This time I was in a standard room and to be honest I could not really tell the difference apart from size and the lacking balcony and free booze. The room was equally clean and comfortable. I had the pleasure to eat in the hotel for 3 evenings and was impressed by the quality of the food. The Curries come highly recommended, the chef obviously has a natural talent – producing authentic flavours and not the usual “Pataks-out-of-jar” offering. I also have to mention the cheese-soufflé tart starter – Heaven. The staff here are a friendly helpful bunch, going out of their way to do what they can to improve your stay. All in all a great hotel, I will be returning soon – HIGHLY RECOMENDED.
