A superb venue to hold a wedding reception.

Fabulous hotel, beautiful views and knowledgeable spa staff — food very pricey so try to eat out but the included breakfast is very tasty! We can't wait to come back.

Would recommend as 2nd time going but just as good as first time also had an amazing waiter (George) he made the evening perfect the food was out standing definitely would come back again.

Had a lovely one night stay, used the spa, had a fabulous massage — although, myself and my Mr were both booked for the same treatment at the same time but when we compared notes after, we had very different massages, bit random! dinner was delicious, staff were so friendly and helpful. would definitely book again.

Me and my boyfriend we stayed on the suite. It was amazing! a lot of space, very cozy and romantic. dinner at the restaurant was delicious as well! not too far from the town and super relaxing.

The staff are very professional and friendly the whole place is so clean. I would recommend anyone to join.

Wonderful friendly helpful staff great place to stay and in such wonderful surroundings would highly recommend staying wind, rain, snow, sun either weather conditions the staff are phenomenal thank you to all the great staff.

Had a few days break here. Well worth a visit. Good central location for visiting the new forest. Disappointed that the dinner menu has not changed but My second visit to this hotel that’s how good it is. Highly recommend.

Amazing staff friendly and helpful all of the time. Clean and tidy venue. room is spacious clean and tidy. only have two issue one small and one large. Shower pressure is so poor it reminds me of a leaky out side tap although I have gotten more pressure out of a hose and the big issue is the bed it's so hard it's like laying on a wooden board and the pillows I would have had less bumps if I had fallen down t he stairs. Honestly wouldn't have bothered me that much but when I paid 190 pound for the room for one night it's such a shame. overall its a 3.5 star from me not great but I have stayed at worst places.

My daughter and I went for a spa day with afternoon tea. It was excellent from start to finish. The staff were amazing in particular Jo from the spa she went above and beyond to meet our requirements. We had the outside pool to ourselves as it was a little chilly but very refreshing. All the waitering staff were kind and courteous. We liked it so much we have rebooked for next week as we both feel so relaxed and chilled. Thank you.

Bit tired, expensive for what was offered! Pool and gym dark and dingy. Breakfast service was slow.

Wow in the middle of nowhere beautiful and when you turn in its wow beautiful building inside aswell. Me & my friend had a spa day outside pool and inside atternoon tea was lovely and the back massage and facial was excellent

Great location and close to some wonderful area’s.

Our original spa break was booked for the weekend of the first lockdown, so we obviously couldn't go. Hotel staff were very helpful and rebooked us for the 2nd November. This was our second spa break at this hotel. We have just had a super weekend. Covid precautions were very good. We were required to book time slots for dinner and breakfast and for the swimming pool. We all enjoyed a lovely massage. Staff couldn't have been more helpful, particularly Jane the receptionist, and considering they are working under very trying conditions. We are very much looking forward to returning in the future.

Everything was perfect. Beautiful place lovely staff. The view from the manor house is amazing. Many thanks for a wonderful week.

Very friendly staff. Beautiful building and grounds. Our apartment was sealed showing that it had been thoroughly cleaned. It has a good restaurant, spa, gym and two swimming pools with a lot more things to do on the grounds. I can't fault the place.

Unable to stay as closed due to covid 19 and you are refusing a refund or to change the date. How can you charge for a service you are not providing. All I received back was an impolite and unhelpful email from one of your staff.

The hotel and spa is a real haven with the gardens leading down to the river. Great staff and services … especially the leisure centre.

I had a surprise visit here for my 70th birthday, I loved every minute! The rooms were clean and very comfortable and every one of the staff were amazing! Professional, polite and fun. Highly recommend!

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay here. It was dreamlike! There’s so much history that you can just feel it. The gorgeous manicured grounds make it difficult to leave. Our apartment was very nice and so cozy. All the people we met were incredibly friendly and helpful. It was a perfectly lovely holiday!

A lovely hotel in a lovely location (I hadn't been to the new forest before) swimming pool was nice albeit a little chilly. Room was lovely.

My sister and I went for a spa day (£119 each) … the pool is cold and small… no jacuzzi … the food was mediocre (at best) … I had fish & chips… served with dry hard peas.

We came for spa day, boiler in pool not working, sauna broken, we payed for two 30 min massage both great but one lasted 17minutes, not enough staff, the staff they do have are lovely even tho over worked.

Great setting here with my family. The facilitates are of a high standard. Had an apartment in the manor house. Staff were helpful and polite. Had the breakfast option if booked on arrival it was £10. Definitely stay here again.

We could hear the conversation from next door, dangerous electrical connections in room, towel heater and extractor broke in bathroom. Management was very disorganised and it was very expensive to add an extra sting.

Don’t bother with the spa.
It’s basically a leisure centre with a treatment room. Freezing cold pool. Jacuzzi is part of the pool so also freezing and rubbish. Gaggles of hotel guests inside the relaxation room shouting and drinking wine, not actually using the spa, there’s just no where else to sit round the pool. Screaming children on body boards in the pool. Filthy changing rooms that smelt like mildew, needed mopping and only 1 in 5 lockers actually work. Waited an hour for some sandwiches to be served in a near empty cafe which ate into our spa time. I was promised something special as it was for my birthday, didn’t even get a happy birthday greeting. The only good thing was the treatments themselves, the ladies were excellent and the products lovely. All in all AVOID.

Came for a spa overnight stay everything was great (drinks pricey) however was all fab. Fab reception on the spa front too you all made us feel very welcome thank you so much hope to visit again.

DO NOT GO TO THE SPA! Travelled a long way for a 21st birthday gift from my brother. As soon as we arrived we were told the pool was out of use! Instead they offered for us to use the outdoor pool which in 12 degrees weather was not quite luxury. They then proceeded to book us in 2 weeks later but told us our treatment times would be different as there would only be 1 beauty therapist. The facilities are dated, dirty and not what you would expect with their advertisement of a relaxing spa day! To make the situation worse the spa receptionists seemed clueless, lacked empathy and were not at a professional standard. We will not be going back to this 'spa', what a waste of a 21st gift voucher!

My spa day didn’t even happen they got everything wrong didn’t even book us if for my pregnancy massage and 2x full body so was offered 50 mins for 3.5 hours worth. They lady that is qualified for pregnancy wasn’t even in we confirmed twice and informed them I had arthritis so this was much needed. Wanted to take time off our facial as sorting this we had gone into our time. We didn’t stay for the day as I couldnt use many facilities being pregnant. Was promised a full refund this was two weeks ago! I have emailed so many times and made phone calls to be promised I will be contacted I haven’t! I am no closer to getting any money bk let alone compensation of any sort! Have now gone to macdonald themselves I hope they are more helpful then there staff at this hotel!

Very disappointed with our ‘spa day’. First of all, there are no loungers around the pool to sit on. The ‘hot tub’ was cold and part of the pool so, not very relaxing. The steam rooms and saunas were of a fair size and were good. The spa relaxation room was nice apart from the fact that it wasn’t very well maintained and there wasn’t the use of hot water for the herbal teas for most of the morning. Treatments, our therapists were 10 minutes late to collect us, even though they had said to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out a consultation form, the beds were cold, no music was playing. My treatment lasted all of 15 minutes which was very disappointing as the treatments are the thing you look forward to the most. I would not recommend this spa.

Wonderful setting, helpful staff, plenty to see and do around the area.

Well where to start… Me and my wife got married here on Thursday 27th September and we could not express enough how perfect our day was! Every little detail was perfect, every thing we asked them to do months ago they remembered. Nothing on the day was a problem, everything we asked them last minute was no inconvenience, the amount of comments we had off our guests regarding this amazing service was no surprise! We would like to thank Mark and Richard for running our …day to absolute perfection, they didn’t miss a thing. Also to the guys working on the bar in the evening and serving all the food, you guys were amazing too! Thank you again for making our day so good, we never imagined it could be that good and a lot of that is down to your hard work.

Rented apartment. Very well appointed, roomy, comfortable and clean. Good links into Lymington by two minute train journey and to the Isle of Wight by ferry. Lovely setting by the water.

We have just returned from a one night spa stay at Elmers court hotel for my mums 80th birthday. The hotel is beautiful, we had a lovely clean room with great facilities, the food & service in the restaurant was first class. I felt the spa could have been better, we all felt the treatments could have been slightly better and it was too hot in the spa building… I would definitely return but not use the spa.

Wifi isn't great. Phone reception is awful. Getting a taxi is hit and miss. Upside clean neat and tidy. Good breakfasts and generous well appointed rooms. Staff are quite good but could try harder. Question is value for money? Probably not if you want connectivity and OK if you want to ignore the modern world. Restaurant shuts at 9pm and that's not well advertised.

My husband booked a spa break for my birthday on Monday at this hotel and to say it was a disappointment is an understatement. We arrived and decided to have a quick swim in the indoor pool before grabbing a bite to eat as our treatments weren't scheduled until late in the afternoon. The ladies changing rooms were OK, a bit tired but there were numerous lockers that didn't work in the men's changing rooms. We had a quick swim and went up to the restaurant to eat at around 11a…m. Our prosecco lunch was booked for 1pm so we thought we would just get something light to share. There were about 8 diners and 3 staff. The bar area was covered in dirty dishes and glasses. The staff weren't overly helpful and once we ordered a ham sandwich it took 45 minutes to arrive. Due to delay in our food we decided to move the lunch reservation to 2pm. We went back down for another swim/sauna and a walk around the grounds before returning to the restaurant at 1.55pm. Our previous food and drink dishes/glasses were still sitting at the table where we left them! We ordered our lunch and were given our glasses of prosecco. This time there were only about 4 diners and our food took an hour to arrive. We didn't see any staff while we ate, no one came to ask if we wanted another drink and when my husband went up to the bar to get drinks there were no staff so I was pleased I had a water bottle in my bag!

Stayed in the courtyard accommodation which was nice inside but in need of a lot of attention outside. No air-conditioning, so was very hot even with fan. Rather noisy as rooms on three sides and thin walls. Staff very pleasant but had trouble understanding dietary requirements even though pre-warned before arriving. Great location for trips out especially to the Isle of Wight as ferry terminal was just down the road.

This hotel is outstanding, it’s clean, safe, welcoming and overall top notch. There is plenty of parking, the rooms are excellent the bar, restaurant and gym are of the highest quality. The old part of the property is beautiful and the grounds are immaculate. The staff welcome is as good as I’ve had in the worlds top hotels. I love this hotel, they’ve exceeded my expectations and crucially whoever put the poor reviews on here, come back as it appears it was a one off. This stay has been faultless.

The few staff around were fantastic … hardworking polite and very helpful but… far too few of them for example 1 man trying to run the whole breakfast on a day when the hotel. Was full… clearing tables, setting tables, seating guests, taking tea and coffee orders, making tea and coffee serving tea and coffee taking and serving hot food orders… he was fantastic but at £18 each well below expectations. Bedooms are tired and shabby. The pool and sauna are also well overdue a refurbishment. The bars are poorly stocked and expensive. A request for Archers or malibu was met with an offer of vodka… There are much better cheaper hotels in the area… only stay here as a last resort would be my advice!

Terrible experience… I spent £60 on an "exclusive spa day for 2" and I could have gone to my local leisure centre for the same experience. The facilities look nothing like the pictures and were dirty. The outside pool was closed. We didn't get any robes. The pool was full of children and there were no chairs, you couldn't actually find anywhere comfortable to sit and you most definitely couldn't relax. I wouldn't come back here and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I went for the day to the spa and restaurant. All staff were friendly and welcoming. The facilities were clean and well looked after. In the restaurant, staff were polite and efficient and the food was yum! I will be going again.

This evening I have visited the resteraunt and I have been utterly appalled at the lack of service. If I could give less the one star then I would. I arrived and was told that I would be able to sit outside and that they would put a table together for my party of 4, then she walked away and started chatting to her friend. We then sat ourselves at any table and waited 30 minutes before I went up to the bar and ordered myself. I asked for a drink with they didn't have, it was my 3rd choice that they did have. Then we ordered food and the food was so small I was still hungary even after paying the price for a full main meal. They didn't have my choice on the menu, so I changed what I wanted and it came out with the cheese and onions missing. The staff where rude and they had a hand held hoover plugged in next to the coffee machine and the front of the fan off whilst it was working. Then to top this off I HAVE to pay 12.5 percent for a service charge. What a joke!

Place has really gone downhill since Mcdonald took over. Leisure changing rooms dirty and lockers all broken. Snooker room is gone. Outdoor pool was filthy (mouldy) last time I used it. Putting green and Croquet lawn no longer well maintained. Apartments are better but still contain dated furniture that was there in 1984. Wedding Parties are kept happy but holiday makers don't seem to matter anymore.

A beautiful hotel set in wonderful grounds. Staff were friendly and the rooms contemporary and a joy to stay in. Most unexpectedly the family rooms have a smaller room containing a bunk bed for children. This made a very welcome change from having to tiptoe around a sleeping toddler and made the stay all the more relaxing after a busy day out.

We have stayed here before and really enjoyed it but this is the last time and would not stay again. TV remote did not work so called reception for help also requested some tea bags/sugar/milk and was promised that someone would come out, no one came so sorted TV ourselves and went to reception for tea bags/coffee. Shower was a walk in type but the shower head had the power of a kiddies watering can so pointless having a big shower area if you have no water flow. Toilet cistern took 30 mins to fill so have a wee in the night and you are kept awake by the dripping as it slowly fills. Time your number 2's well otherwise you will not be able to flush for sometime. Had a meal in restaurant and the service was good as was the meal but garlic bread side was two slices of supermarket bread with abit of garlic butter spread on it at a cost of £2.50 so a great mark up, I have never seen garlic bread served like this anywhere also the menu was very limited. Cooked breakfast was tiny and although service was good they only had one guy serving the whole time so he was rushed off his feet. The hotel is not delivering on the image they are advertising and clearly cutting costs in staff and food but are charging way too much for very little.

We went to have a look at the gardens. There is a fabulous view into the Lymington River. Walking back through the hotel we stopped to look at the lovely panelling in the rooms downstairs. It really is a very grand building.

From the website, this hotel looks like a nice, small characterful spa hotel. However, if you want to stay here, you should be aware of the fact that this is really a "resort hotel" with time share accomodation. The accomodation is mostly blocks of two storied apartment blocks and cottages separate from the main house. The spa facilities are shared with the time share owners and "club members". The spa facilities have equipment like lockers and spin driers but, in the Male Changing Area, these were not working when we were there. The spa facilities could really do with some attention! By the way, be aware that, if you are not on an all in deal, breakfast costs a very expensive £18.00 per person. I did complain to the manager of the Hotel during our visit about the distance of our room from the facilities and, indeed, the quality of those facilities. We were moved to a different room closer to the facilities but the replacement room was of a lower standard and no refund of any part of the £509 for a three night stay was offered! What we were subsequently offered was a "preferential rate" if we chose to stay at one of their hotels again! I don't think that we will using their offer any time soon!

Fantastic we use the hotel for our sons swimming lessons every Saturday morning and have a coffee afterward while I feed him and the facilities are very well cared for and the staff are helpful.

Have been visiting since 1987 when we bought a Spanish timeshare there but had a gap of 20 years-ish this time. Very disappointed with the sports club bar, decided to close early so no teas/coffees… despite having a queue. Lad on sports reception good & helpful, he was surprised they'd closed too. Had to go over main house (raining hard) as nowhere else for drinks. Beautiful surroundings as always, plenty of bar staff — some far better at customer service than others! Not the place to stay with young children as they would be very bored. Lovely gardens, great views & very handy for isle of white ferry beside property.

We have stayed at Elmer's before and really enjoyed the area. We're able to walk to the Isle of Wight ferry and spend a great day sightseeing.

The staff member gave us the keys and directions to our room. When entering our room my partner and I were surprised to see two single beds. We booked a King room which this clearly wasn't. We called reception and told them that the room was wrong and they said they would find us another room. We were them escorted to a Family room which still wasn't a King Room, however it had a king size bed so we settled for that. After dropping our bags off we headed to the bar for food. The bar was unoccupied and we were stood waiting for 5-6 minutes. Staff members were approaching the bar to use the till but still no one served us. Eventually I asked if anyone was going to serve us as we'd been waiting 5 or so minutes. We then ordered food and drinks. Based on the service so far I decided to time how long our food would take to come out. In total it took 54 minutes and 21 seconds (sounds silly I know but I had a feeling this would take a while). Once the food came out we then had to ask for cutlery which took a further 5 minutes. I asked to speak to the Manager who basically just apologised and said they were busier than they expected.

Poor customer service we received on 17/3/2018. Staff were overwhelmed with amount of guests in hotel and wedding that was taking place, they had made no provision for extra staff. We stayed when it was cold so unfortunately the rooms were cold as only had one small heater on wall for whole room which was inadequate. So called spa well steam room wasn't in service pool was cold as well. Restaurant was so slow service we ordered from just eat with other guests and surprise that turned up in 40 min even though we had been waiting for food an hour and a half in restaurant. Not the expected service you would have thought with price tag.

Poorly organised, Bad customer service and not value for money
We stayed 17/03/2018, Went in to so Called steak restaurant at lunch as lady behind bar about food not been served okay bit odd, ordered drink took seat. Ask for rugby to be put on staff behind bar didn't know how to put TV's on. We worked it out and started watching rugby, 10 min later food came to table behind us! went back to bar to be served by another member of staff who then produced a menu! Ordered few bits scones for wife and tea. 4 scones turned up on a plate no cream no knife no jam nothing back to bar wait 5 min to be told oh sorry do this now. Any way that was within first hour. Went to restaurant in evening took seat at 7pm by half 7 we hadn't been asked for drinks order or food. Every one in restaurant was complaining 1 very young member of staff with clearly no guidance and an elderly member of staff who was trying to sort things out food was coming out wrong to wrong tables. We gave up at 830pm and ordered of just eat and went to see hotel manager, at time she had a cue of people complaining about poor service in restaurant, our food turned up from local Indian in 25 min. Took close to an hour to order in comparison. Sunday morning was same fiasco we ordered a simple pot of tea for breakfast lady was struggling so we first had coffee and apple juice eventually went and got some one else to bring me a pot of tea.

Lovely manor house with an indoor pool and lots of grounds t walk about in. The newer apartments in separate buildings next to the main house aren't as nice however. I would happily stay again.

Nice hotel good clean rooms. Needs a bit of a refurb. Painting ECT. Pleasant grounds. Reception staff nice and friendly. Bar staff miserable as sin. Ran out of bitter so limited drink choice. Over priced drinks… wine. Over heard another guest complaining about being over charged for a meal. And I mean I do mean over charged. NOT somewhere I would go again but hey ho.

The hotel is beautiful, the staff are so helpful and friendly. The dinner in the restaurant was amazing, and the rooms are great and the spa facilities are amazing. It's not cheap but you definitely get what you paid for, I'll visit again for sure.

A nice country manor house, in a good location for Lymington. The staff were very helpful and friendly, The food in the main restaurant was very nice, and at about £30 for a three course meal, I found it good value for money. The swimming pool area is warm and clean. The main building is in need of a refurbishment in places. Overall, a nice place to stay.

One night Indulgence Spa break. Tucked away in the New Forest close to Lymington with Tudor Manor as it's centre piece. Having read some reviews after booking you could have been worried but those reviews are plainly wrong. The service and facilities are very good, the spa experience relaxing and food excellent. Recommend the Waterford Restaurant for your evening meal. The pool was good with steam room and sauna if they take your fancy. Overall I'd recommend it.

Lovely setting. Quiet old English hotel in beautiful grounds. Good amenities tennis, pitch and put and indoor and outdoor pools.

Went there for a company party. We had use of a couple of function rooms and the grounds, which are both very well maintained. The staff were all helpful and friendly.

Lovely hotel with amazing well kept gardens. Indoor and outdoor pool plus steam sauna and jazzuci. Breakfast was 1st class. Loved it.

Very nice stay. Rooms are lovely and the setting is perfect. Food is nice and the service is excellent.

Lovely looking building but rooms somewhat dated — my mattress felt like it had been through enough and should be put to stud (if that's how new mattresses are made). Breakfast costs £17 but could get better fayre in most caffs.

Service was ok from some staff, person doing my treatment couldn't wait to finish and just left me in the treatment room afterwards, was unsure what I was meant to do. Kitchen staff in restaurant were awful, hoovering around us. Chef was moaning, making faces, rolling eyes and complaining because we were vegetarians, as soon as he found out we were vegetarians we heard him say the wait for food would be even longer as if he was doing it on purpose. Food was not good, cakes were stale and when trying to find someone to complain we couldn't find anyone, ended up leaving early. Would not recommend and certainly will not be returning.

Contrary to advertising, this place is not a Spa hotel, never known a place overrun by kids to be labeled relaxing and rejuvenating.

Lovely very traditional English setting for a prime service hotel. Child friendly and the pool is amazing.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights and was absolutely delighted with our room, it was stunning and clean. The bed was amazing! and the room had everything we needed. The grounds were spectacular, and we would stay at this hotel again.

Stayed for 3 nights with our infant son and highly recommend it. Beautiful location, excellent rooms and facilities — indoor and outdoor pool, gym and two restaurants. We would visit again. A great base for exploring the south coast or new forest, but it is so nice you might not leave the hotel grounds.

We enjoyed a one-night stay at this hotel and were really impressed by the staff — incredibly attentive without being annoying and lovely people. The hotel room (more like an apartment) was clean and spacious. The bed was comfy and the facilities were perfect. The spa was not the best I've ever been to, but the staff were friendly and proficient. The treatments were fabulously relaxing. The changing rooms were clean and functional. The food in the fine dining restaurant (a meal was included in the package price) was delicious. The grounds are stunning. A perfect location for a romantic night away.
