Communication! Waited an hour for food, but no explanation to why it was late. Ended up walking out, staff wavered drinks bill as an apology. Drove from Salisbury to, so disappointed is an understatement.

Welcoming atmosphere. Friendly staff. Excellent Wadworth ales.

Really busy but staff were quick. Attentive good beer. Great food. What more could you want.

5 of us had Sunday dinner here, the staff were super friendly and very funny! We all had fabulous dinners, the roast beef was cooked perfectly, plenty of veg and red cabbage too… I swapped out the cauliflower cheese for extra roast potatoes… but the others loved it… Desert too was sooo good… great Eton mess!
So pleased we tried it again as when it was the junk shop/pub it really wasn't very nice… Well done to all. Be back soon x.

Lovely restaurant with friendly staff who can’t do enough for you.

Popped in for Sunday lunch. Staff were lovely and the service fantastic, and the roast was amazing! Huge portion sizes and a lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Friendly atmosphere in a rainy Friday evening…

Food was great and staff lovely accommodated out two dogs in the bar too will return again during our stay.

Nice town centre pub easy access from canal. Half price menue on Mondays. Can't be bad!

Wonderful ambiance friendly and great service we have eaten at a few different coffee shops tea rooms and pubs but always go back to the black swan the food is delicious and well presented well done Black Swan will see you soon again keep up the the great work.

Spacious and unique. It has a large outside area that is half covered. The pub is filled with unique items of history that gives it an old pub charm.

Good food and Wadworths beer. Nicely done out, food made in light, and standard dishes. All reasonable prices. We'll worth a visit.

Stayed one night great customer team there looked after me and I did not get the room with the ghost lol xx.

The new owners have given the place a serious lick of paint, and it's a pretty nice place to be again. The beer's still good, can't vouch for the food. The sad thing is that it's just not got the same atmosphere and feel of the old owners. Sure it's all a lot cleaner and tidier, but I'm not sure it's the same pub anymore. Still a solid place to have a pint, mind.

Not too bad could do with more bar staff.

Nice pleasant atmosphere sat on pavement watching the world go by had a couple of ciders very nice. Toilets are a must to visit.

Came across this hotel by accident but would definitely recommend and stay again! Lovely hotel and the staff and food is fantastic!

Had a lovely weekend here! Beautiful building, love the interior design! Very rustic. Food and drinks were traditional pub food at a very reasonable price but amazing quality. The staff were all so nice, cheerful and helpful. The manager was particularly great — made time to chat to everyone which I love. We went for a walk along the canal to see the locks (only a 5 minute walk from the hotel). Couldn’t recommend it enough!

Fantastic new manager, Hanna and staff. No more second hand rubbish strewn about the place. Top beer, top food. Smashing. Well worth a visit.

Over priced rooms that looked nothing like that is shown on their web site, looks very drab and has not been finished decorating, rooms were dusty and still had rubbish in the bin, there was no 'how was your stay' when keys was handed in and at breakfast there was just 1 sausage, 1 egg, 2 dried bacon, 1 (single small) mushroom and half a tomato which all served up with in 2 mins of sitting down, didnt even get a chance to have any cereal, will not go there again.

Our room at the front was a time warp back to Tudor times. Bathroom was ok

Overpriced in my opinion for the room we had.

Very unusual pub with unique surroundings. My sister and I stayed last night for an impromptu night away and we enjoyed our night. We find the food excellent but the live music and atmosphere is the best I've experienced. Not sure about the room… it's definitely not to everyone's taste but overall loved our time there. The breakfast was fab

We had a fantastic relaxing afternoon in the beer garden having a couple of refreshing pints and making the most of the sun. Come 6 pm and feeling peckish, we ordered the mackerel pate and whitebait and we couldn't fault it, The Black Swan is definitely worth a visit, not only is the food amazing the staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them.
