We have just had two nights at the Manor House. We have stayed once before and again they didn’t disappoint. Friendly and helpful staff, warm welcome exceptionally clean room and facilities so important in this pandemic. Our meal at the Bybrook was sublime unbelievable flavours and presentation with courteous and polite staff. The golf was also great shame we didn’t see the trees in their full autumn glory. Thank you all for a lovely two days felt like we had been away a lot longer. Susie Moore.

Wonderful stay, lovely staff, faultless service. Dinner in the Bybrook was absolutely superb. A problem with our room was quickly rectified and every care was given to ensure we were happy with everything — which we were! Gorgeous setting with fantastic walks in a picture book location.

Hard to accurately convey just how terrific our five night stay was at The Manor House. The grounds are exceptional, the staff was on point, and the experience was unforgettable. Our children felt they’d stepped in to a time warp, the feeling strengthened by strolling about Castle Combe. Thank you for helping us create an enduring family memory!

Beautiful location, absolutely horrendous and unhelpful/untrained management. They don't even wear name badges for start. Basically your complaints wouldn't be heard because they don't care. They will always have full hotel due to their position. If I was the owner of the business tho, I would consider customer first and money after, that's how hotel should work. What a disappointment.

Beautifully manicured grounds. Unique rooms. The most accommodating staff. Oh and Michelin Star restaurant. I cannot say enough about our experience here. Memories to last a lifetime. Thank you!

Amazing but challenging course with some stunning holes. An absolute pleasure was the par 3 holes.

The Manor House itself is fabulous however the castle inn … as a 40th b day present my wife received a voucher for Sunday lunch for 2 at the Manor House which transpires is now at the inn. The food was bland and cold. The service was non existent. I didn’t expect the inn to be of the same standard but to have the worst Sunday lunch of my life at a place owned by the Manor House is shocking.

Visited as part of a wedding party and was very comfortable. I had to store some medicine in the fridge and had to ask staff to get my storage bag late at night and early in the morning but somehow I always got my bag with a smile. The room had an excellent view and staff were always on hand when we were unsure where to go. We also had a lot of fun trying out the many different types of gin in the bar.

Gorgeous venue for a wedding. Service and staff are great and very helpful. We were put in a suite in the main house which had a very nice mix of modern and traditional style to it. We were even lucky enough to have one with a great view over the main grounds. Only a few niggles however. Small things like the power shower not working very well and food could have been a little better for a five star hotel. But overall, well worth a visit and stay if you have time.

We have stayed here 5 times now, this time for my 50th birthday treat, and we are never disappointed. The room was amazing, food faultless and service 2nd to none. Can’t wait to return.

Arriving at 11.30 am, we were not allowed entry to the grounds, even though we had a confirmed booking. The guards explained that there was an important meeting in progress. When we were eventually allowed in, we had to carry our own luggage up and down stairs and along corridors to our room. The same when we left. The laundry service was slow, and though we had specified folder shirts, they were returned on hangers. The sports shirts were crumpled into a bag together with the underwear and socks. The food in the restaurant was good, provided you could get a booking.

Lovely place, great staff and a completely secluded country get away, perfect escape from the busy city life. Only issue is the lack of air-conditioning. Normally acceptable in old manor houses, but this one has a lot of mod cons, one thing they need to work on is air con, especially on the upper rooms. The portable air con units in the rooms just blow warm air. This made it the most uncomfortable nights sleep on the most comfortable beds i've slept on. I'd still go back, but will probably take my own air con.

Amazing experience in every way. The house and grounds are stunning. Staff are so willing and nothing is too much trouble. Ollie is such a pleasant and friendly young man that makes you feel very comfortable. Dinner was 5 star plus and rooms are stunning, super spacious & we felt so welcomed & looked after! Amazing way to spend our Anniversary. We will definitely be back! Thank you.

Stunning hotel in gorgeous surroundings. I stayed there with my missus to celebrate our anniversary, it was perfect: sun shining, pimms flowing, cozy rooms and great food. Plus the village itself is idyllic, think Cotswold stone and real ale. It doesn’t get much better than this for a romantic getaway in the English countryside — just thinking about it has got me humming ‘Jerusalem’.

Waiter hassled us about putting an extra place down for my girlfriend who was running late. Very odd. We almost left. Been 4/5 times as its close but really needs more. Portion size small, menu repetitive. It's just not great and I struggle to see how they have a star. Decor not my thing personally… All that purple, and the ducks?, Lunch outside on the lawn is amazing if the sun shines. Also think the lack of any flair with the bloody Mary is a bloody shame. Please make it better!,

Absolutely stunning venue, exceptional Golf course with challenging holes and very fast greens. Food in The Manor House is excellent and the best in the area without exception. This venue will not disappoint.

Manor house golf club we had my granddaughter christening lunch here. We had our own room and it was just splendid. Fantastic views of the landscape. The staff was so attentive a wonderful day.

The Mannor House was amazing. We went there for my Grandad’s 70th and had an amazing time. Me and my 11 and 9 year old cousins had hours of fun in the tennis courts, play house, pool and other places. The staff were really friendly and the bedrooms were cozy. Can’t wait to go back this year.

Do not eat here if you are vegan or vegetarian as there is a very limited menu. However, the grounds are lovely, we walked around and enjoyed the gardens. They’ve even got gumboots for you to use to you avoid muddy & wet feet. The staff are very friendly and professional so I imagine staying here would be a wonderful experience. The roaring fire and sofas are cosy and would make for a romantic weekend away.

Location is perfect for a weekend get away, beautiful village to walk or hike or just to relax. Very nice pub available within a short walk. Rooms and the area around is exceptional.

Beautiful stunning place. Out of this world. No Wi-Fi and little phone signal which can add to the feeling that you're in your own world. The tablet which gives local information etc didn't work and wasn't fixed when asked which was a shame but not enough to lose a star.

After my 6th stay, the joy of staying here remains the same, from the beautiful setting, to babbling Bybrook, exceptionally friendly staff, beautiful rooms that retain their charm, and truly fine dining in The Bybrook restaurant, it's worth the 10 hour flight from Los Angeles to find the peace and tranquility. To prove how amazing it is, while I was here, I booked my next stay. Thank you for providing a retreat from reality by allowing me to go back in time.

Stayed here for a work event. Beautiful large rooms! Staff were all really friendly, and the food is delicious (we had breakfasts here, and 1 dinner). It was the epitome of the storybook English manor in the countryside. I was pleasantly surprised to find several Dyson products in my room, it was really useful to have a Supersonic hair dryer to help me get out faster for early meetings; and a purifier to help clean the air in my room and minimize allergens as I get seasonal allergies. I hope there's an opportunity to stay here again in the future and enjoy more of the hotel amenities.

This is indeed a very special place, so much so we have spent our wedding anniversary here for the last five years (with one cheeky little stay in between) … This was our silver anniversary and, as usual, we were made to feel very special. The beauty of the surroundings, fabulous suites and exquisite food are complemented by the excellent friendly and attentive staff. We will be back.

For 4 years now this has been our special occasion hotel of choice to the extent we got married here 2 years ago. The hotel fascinates me everytime and I love the never ending character. The staff cannot do enough for you and are perfectly attentive. We had the taster menu which was a wonderful and fun experience. Our head waiter David could not be faulted and was entertaining and knowledgable. I have been to many hotels around the world yet I am to find one that beats this gem 3 miles from my door step.

I photograph the wedding venue a lot and I am always impressed by the attentive staff and quality food. Not to mention it's a beautiful venue to photograph.

Enjoyed a fabulous overnight stay at the hotel. We stayed as a birthday treat to ourselves, expecting a lovely time, but it even exceeded expectations. I would definitely recommend it.

Fantastic weekend staff very attentive, taster menu was stunning, slight moan the breakfast on Saturday was a shambles, four people squeezed on a table for two, eggs hard, waiter handed hot tea pot across people rather than walking round table. Sunday was better, the lady running it was very attentive and professional nothing was too much trouble, room was beautiful although had a fancy hairdryer but no plug near a mirror, hubby had to take it out of the bathroom off the wall to use, would def go again though, please thank the staff especially the guys that took us to the golf club and back in the buggy.

We stayed at this hotel with friends and what a fantastic place for a weekend away. We could not fault any aspect of the hotel. The rooms are quirky as built in 1600, but decorates perfectly with quality bedding and furniture (lovely powerful shower). The remainder of the hotel is just as good and it holds much of the main character from its original build The owners and staff are very welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble, we were made to feel like old friends from the beginning. The food is wonderful and worth a visit even if you are not staying at the hotel. The hotel is in a great location for getting away from it all and has amazing sea views and great walks if you like walking. There is a good wine selection and the bar area is cozy and relaxing. We would love to have been married in this hotel as its a gorgeous location for a special celebration. The nearest town of Bridport is a good place to visit but the hotel has so much to offer you do not need to leave it, at least in the evening especially. We cannot rave about this place enough and hope our review is read and people visit and fall in love with it as much as we did. Due to re-visit in January and already looking forward to it.

Don't get me wrong, the overall experience was excellent. Attentive staff, great service and a feeling that the night was special, with live background music. The restaurant itself is also a lovely space, with lots of room for each table — although a side effect of that is a slightly feeling of emptiness. However, in my view, for the price the food did not live up to expectations. It was good, but I don't think it was as good as it should have been — and not as good as other restaurants of a similar level.

Castle Combe will draw you back into history more powerfully than most villages, and the Manor House is the best place to photograph your antique vehicles. The hotel rooms are a surprising modern contrast from the facade of the Manor House and the rest of Castle Combe, but they are tastefully decorated to match the aged premises and well-appointed.
