Lovely food served by a very polite young man. Lovely little pub in a beautiful setting. Nice beer garden.

Poor food, empty and lacked atmosphere. Such a shame as the exterior is beautiful as there is a stream The Bye running through past the pub and it’s very old. Choice was restricted as main courses were not available. We had pate for start, main meals Pork Neck, very chewy, Turkey with glutinous gravy. Gave the desert a miss. Young ladies serving pleasant but lacked a personal touch, thru seemed to be going through the motions. I wouldn’t recommend for food but would be worth a visit for drinks in the summer.

Roast flooded with gravy. Young lady had no idea what beers were in the fridge then brought me an alcohol free Becks. Guess the plates were already to serve as we were in and out in 30mins.

Called to ask what time they were open for lunch as my wife and I were visiting the area. The woman was rude over the phone, I repeated myself several times at her request then she was blunt and hung up on me. We chose the friendly alternative across the road.

Wouldn’t recommend the filet steak, very disappointed and for£27 won’t be having it again, got a table booked for the 26th and already thinking of changing ☹️

Haven’t been here in a while but it was great to be back. The staff were very friendly and welcoming the menu was good as was the Ale and Cider. A lovely Old Pub in a beautiful location and only a short. Ish pleasant walk along the Valley to Castle Combe (on a dry day)

Reasonable priced food and so dog friendly that they paid so much attention to my baby girl she loved it! Staff are brilliant and lovely place.

This is a nice, quiet country pub, which makes a good place to stop for a beer on a circular walk from Castle Combe. They have good beer on tap, the staff are very friendly and there is a pleasant atmosphere inside.

This is a fantastic pub in a nice setting beside a river which in the heat today even had people paddling in it. If you want good food in a relaxed location this is the place to go in the summer. Very nice.

In what feels like an old mill building you can choose from a well curated menu some rather good dishes. Mainly bistro style. Décor is a fusion of post indistrial chic set within a green oak framed room. Overlooks water on all sides. Outdoor dining and room to stay in too. You cross a foot bridge over the river to reach the garden from the small car park with further parking just over the side road.

Very good food. Lovely garden by the rive. What's there not to like.

Beautiful pub, with a lovely beer garden! Would be nice if you could run a tab when sitting outside though, it s a pain to keep having to pay separately for everything.

Great lunch by the river in am idyllic setting. Friendly and efficient staff. Dog friendly with ample parking. Delicious coffee and desserts too! Our sandwiches and salads were lovely. Will be back!

Rude staff — food order took over 1 hour to come, despite repeatedly asking we were forgotten. When food came it was crusty and dry it had clearly been reheated. Bill came to £50 outrageous, when I gave feedback to the blonde girl in charge she just smirked. Food was average, no recognition or even apology offered, I'm not after any compensation only recognition as a customer that things should be better.

Beautiful venue, but hugely let down by the incompetent and rude staff. Steak left swimming in pool of blood. Bring to the staff attention, they argued against it. Was rude and obnoxious. I wouldn't recommend this venue for food. A real shame this stunning venue let down by its icapable staff.

Beautiful cosy pub in a stunning location. Cute little cottage however I would not recommend the bedroom downstairs as you hear everything from the bedroom above and people walking on the wooden floors. Food was very good but a bit too pricey for the quality but I guess the scenery was worth it.

Expensive to eat £17 for a simple rump stake but on another note clean tidy good table service my first time vist but can safely say won't be going back. But have heard it can get very busy in spring summer time as it's got a nice beer garden with a river running through it.

An excellent pub in a small hamlet. Lovely gardens in good weather, fine ales and good menu. Didn't eat there on my recent visit.

Set in a beautiful hamlet near Castle Combe. The pub is sat over a river so you have the river running under the restaurant part of the pub. The pub area is cosy with lots of nooks and crannies so you can hide yourselves away for a cosy or romantic night. The food is delicious. They specialise in steak but there was plenty of choice including vegetarian. We recommend booking as its busy on Friday and Saturday nights.

Good atmosphere. My lunch could have been hotter, but the pork was the most tender I have ever had.

4pm and quiet. Still doing food. The fish plater for two was fulfilling with quality ingredients.

Nice area with stunning views and has a really nice character. Food was good and drinks also. Staff was very friendly had my room number so no need to tell everyone where to put the bill. Room was nice and big with te and coffee in room. However the clock was not working in the room, there was no hot water either and the breakfast was a bit on the thin side otherwise a great experience.

Very picturesque. Rooms quirky. Food good. Car park a very short walk away. The road through Ford can be tricky — single track but a lot of traffic at peak times with blind exit onto the road.

Lovely rural setting with plenty of parking. Little ones would need to be watched as there is a shallow water course running through (& under) the building. Both food and service were excellent. Price was average. 4 people (2 x adults, 2 x children). 4 main courses, 3 desserts, a couple of pints and a glass of wine were just shy of £70 but as said it was very enjoyable. On a sunny day, the outside courtyard seating added to the charm. Well worth a visit. Recommended.

Superb meal. Great venue so relaxed. Fast attentive service and a top imaginative chef. Life long veggie and 4 different interesting mains. Great prices too.

I've only visited once so far for a Sunday lunch but I was very impressed, it has a lovely atmosphere and the food was great. It's also a dog friendly place which is another Bonus.

Really nice location. Very nicely decorated room with all amenities only criticism was staff late opening reception in the morning. Would definitely stay again.

Don't think I've ever written a negative review before. Booked three rooms at the White Hart at Ford on the 9th March for my 84 year old Father and two sisters who are attending a family event in Bath card details taken. In total we'd booked 7 other rooms across Bath with no issues. The week before I called the hotels to make sure all was in order. The White Hart had only one booking registered, when I queried this I was told the Manager had booked only one room. He wasn't available but would call me tomorrow. He of course didn't call, when I called him he blamed other members of staff said there was nothing he could do. He said why not try the Premier Inn at Chippenham 15miles from Bath! Being Bank Holiday weekend we then had to scramble around and ended up paying £215 a night at a Hotel on the other side of Bath. THIS PUB/HOTEL DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR CUSTOM WHILE THIS MANAGER IS STILL IN PLACE The manager takes no responsibility for his errors, worst still blames other members of staff and can't even be bothered to call back customers.

A really professional pub in a great location. Staff were friendly and helpful. One of my fellow visitors ordered a single portion of chips and had them in his hand about 2 minutes later. I don't know if this is standard of all food service, but wow it was quick. Highly recommend a visit here. Especially in the summer to sit by the river and enjoy a pint!

Visited for Sunday lunch, five members of the family and two furry ones. The staff were more than welcoming and quickly found us a table where we could sit with the dogs at our feet. We ordered from the menu and went for the slow roast chicken, belly pork and the sirloin of beef with the beef rib. In all fairness, it was nicely cooked with a good selection of veg, but unfortunately the meat was a touch on the skimpy side. As this was going to feed us up before a walk round this beautiful area, it was a touch disappointing. Fine dining, but not if you have a good appetite.

We had a super Sunday lunch here with possibly the best nut roast I have ever had. My partner had the roast beef and said that the meat was lovely and tender. The price was only slightly more expensive than our local carvery but we felt the food was much nicer. Staff were all lovely and clearly making an effort to be helpful and curteous. Massively improved on our last visit a few years ago. X.

Sat in the beer garden and had lunch recently. The garden is very relaxing, with a stream running through it. The ale selection is good, and prices are reasonable too.

The pub itself was stunning, food I have to say was totally opposite! Staff, you just could not get a smile? My conclusion is that one must go out of one's way to produce food as bad as this, worst than a greasy spoon cafe! Chips are re-fried and taste of fish and every thing is microwaved again and again! Very poor indeed.

I have lived in Wiltshire for over 20 years, the White Hart is by far the best restaurant to visit. The setting is unique and lovely, food excellent and staff friendly, I wouldn't consider to be over priced. Not so keen on decor now the place has been reburbished but nevertheless is well worth visiting. Take no notice of bad reviews, they are total rubbish :) ).

Stayed at the white heart for a few days and it was the perfect get away. Rooms are comfortable and clean, and are situated in such a beautiful surrounding. Staff are very friendly and are willing to help. Food is excellent, big portions and a wide variety of dishes to choose from. You won't be disappointed.

This use to be a great pub, back in the days when it served black rat cider and was busy every evening — since the brewery takeover a few years ago it has been going down hill rapidly — food is shoddy and atmosphere worse. 2 people in the bar on a Saturday night — A wasted opportunity and a great shame. Will not return.
