Great service and food and open on New Year’s Day!

Lovely lunch today, good food, good service.

Food was lovely but rather a long wait for some reason as they weren't particularly busy. Worth the wait though.

Stayed for one night. Accommodation fab and breakfast had one of everything hilariously by accident which made it all the more fun!

Yet again they did not disappoint, great steak as always.

Lovely staff so friendly and go the extra mile. Even gave our dog a slice of beef from their fabulous range of aged meats. Lovely all round.

Our room was lovely, and staff very kindly posted a ring that I had left after our stay. Staff were brilliant too! Throughly recommend.

We travelled an hour to Marlow for our 2 year Anniversary Dinner as I found a lovely sounding Vegetarian burger, sweet potato wedges and onion rings. When I arrived I was told that this hasn’t ever been served and that the menu was incorrect and completely different to the actual one. Being a vegetarian, I chose to have the triple cooked chips and macaroni cheese sides as a main. My chips were more like supersize wedges for a giant, but edible and I have eaten better macaroni cheese when being a poor university student. In fairness I said I wouldn’t pay for it and didn’t have to. I’m now enjoying a 4 pack of Sainsbury’s eclairs on my hour drive home. My partner described his burger as average and feels completely robbed.

Customer service very good, pleasant atmosphere. Good place to take the parents. Maybe needs a broader set menu. Good portions and good food though.

Went for a big family meal and was quite impressed with how organised they were. All our food was brought out together, nobody from our party was disappointed. I must also say the server was very friendly and was very good with the 4 yr old boy we had with us.

Really nice place. Stayed overnight found the room comfortable but we stayed at the front of the hotel and found it was noisy at times through the night so next time we would stay at the rear. Also the light bulb wasn't working on the bedside and the clock provided did not work, this is room 9. The breakfast was first class and Toni the waitress was so helpful and polite. A very nice place to stay.

Nice enough, good prices, decent enough drink selection and frequented by nice patrons. If you are in need of a nice, not over prices straight forward pub in Marlow you won't go far wrong here.

Always a great atmosphere at the chequers! The fish and chips (on cheat day) are the best I've ever had anywhere! Good selection of ales on too.

Didn't eat here other than for breakfast, which was lovely. I stayed in Room 1 for a night, that's one of the deluxe double rooms, and it really had the wow factor! It was a beautiful room, everything was top quality, from the bed linen to the complimentary tea and coffee. Cosy throws and sheepskin rug! Lovely free standing bath, and a massive shower — both enjoyed If you're looking for somewhere right in the shopping heart of the town, this is ideal. I was looking for a boutique hotel experience, and this is exactly what I got! Would highly recommend staying here. A lovely young lady serving breakfast sorted a taxi for me after I'd had no joy myself after that phoning a few firms. Staff couldn't have been nicer.

Visited last night with friends — we have been several times before and have loved the restaurant but although the food was delicious last night, the service was pretty shocking (from everyone there! ) We had to wait at least 20 minutes for drinks and always needed to chase up. No care or attention was given by the server, in fact, she almost threw the plate at my friend and she also dropped the starter on the table!
There were several things they had run out of and even ran out of the IPA at 10pm in the evening (on a Saturday night! )
My husband ordered a larger steak but was just brought the standard 6oz fillet and they totally ignored that request.
There was no care or decent service so we asked for the service charge to be taken off the bill (even for a table of 4 they added the service charge to the bill. ) We left the young girl a small tip as we felt a bit sorry for her but they didn’t deserve a proper tip.
We have recently eaten at The Ivy and The Marlow Bar and Grill and although I loved the food last night at The Chequers, the other restaurants offered a much more pleasant all round ambience and service. Sadly, we won’t be back to The Chequers for the foreseeable future.

The food was very good which was a carvery. All was going well until we ordered liqueur coffees to end with. Without doubt there was NOT a single drop of liqueur in any of them. They were coffee and cream that was all. Went to see a member of staff whose reaction was give me a lecture on the manufacture of liqueur coffees. I didn't ask for a liqueur coffee lesson. I wanted liqueur in my liqueur coffee. That was all. Indeed we ALL did. So after a while I had to ask the staff member to end the lesson and just give me and my party some liqueur to put in my liqueur coffee. Instead of doing this she simply stuck a spoon in each of our coffees, stirred them all vigorously, and then she walked off. We all re tasted our freshly stirred coffees, and guess what? Still NOT even the slightest hint. Not even the tiniest hint of any liqueur whatsoever. So we all paid over £4 for a coffee and cream each. The staff member was patronising in giving me the unwanted liqueur coffee lesson, then dismissed my complaint by stirring the glasses and walking off. Not what I should expect from this place.
