I stay here a lot, and the refurb just done has made it an even better place to stay. Bar / restaurant staff always make you feel welcome Great job.

Unhelpful and unpleasant staff. Bathroom not cleaned properly. Air con not working on one of the hottest days of year. Staff done nothing to help when brought to their attention, despite me being 6 months pregnant. My daughter and I got no sleep with a 5 hour car journey ahead of us the next day. Dirty cutlery in restaurant and my husbands pint was 'off'. Only bonus was the food was pretty decent and the swimming pool was clean. I'd advise try a Premier Inn. The rooms are cleaner, the staff are much more helpful/human and the food just as good. Have put in an official compliant as the member of reception staff wasn't interested when it was raised while I was there. Await outcome.

Had a fab girls night away in Gloucester, friendly helpful staff, fab bar staff who kept the bar open until 2am. Clean tidy rooms. Lovely choice for breakfast. Would use again 😀

Arrived yesterday for a training course, very spacious, cosey, immaculately clean all round. Only negative was the super slow service at the bar getting drinks which resulted in my dinner going cold. Other than that lovely hotel 👍

Checked in only to find the room had not been cleaned, after I got a clean room I ordered some dinner, got a tomato soup and risotto served in paper cups with wooden spoons and a pint of Stella, cost me £21 too. Absolutely disgusting.

Rooms sparkling clean, 2nd time staying at the holiday inn, I will say food is lovely and the staff are over and above.

Enjoyed our stay here. Even in COVID environment. Staff very helpful. The swimming pool was open so we made the most of it. A great breakfast and take out too.

Selfish and money grabbing and putting their staff in danger during the Coronavirus outbreak by insisting that they continue to work when the prime minister has said that ALL hotels should close to try and stop the spread of the virus oh and they keep deleting my questions about forcing their staff to work even though the prime minister has put the country in lockdown.

Our stay here was during a very unique situation, but Holiday Inn were fantastic. Clearly taking every precaution possible to make the hotel a safe environment for guests and staff. Hand sanitizer stations throughout the hotel and visible cleaning activities going on throughout. Efforts made to make you feel welcome despite what must be an incredibly tough time for them. All staff interactions were great. Thank you Holiday Inn and IHG for the experience and ask your efforts. Your while approach from the change in cancellation policies and the stay experience has been perfect and a model example to other companies.

My husband & I stayed here while visiting family & friends as we live in Australia now. Also it was our 10 year anniversary which we had our wedding reception here. Would happily recommend this hotel. Excellent service always very clean. Food in restaurant was very good too. My youngest has food allergies & they were very happy to check ingredients for us. Staff went above and beyond. A big shoutout to Rhys always willing to help & top guy!

Myself and my new wifr were married here on 11th may 2019, we had such amazing service on the day and all service before, everyone catered for our needs in full and any small requests were made without a fuss. I would 100% recommend this as a wedding venue if you want a hastle free day. Could not be happier with everyone there… thank you all from Mr and Mrs jm Westaway.

I would totally recommend Holiday Inn Gloucester — Cheltenham to everyone! We had our wedding here in October and they made it perfect! Every single member of staff was fantastic, the food was amazing and the rooms were perfect.
No matter what you are coming here for, this is the hotel for you.

Upon arriving told we couldn't have double room even though the booking was for a double, essentially the desk staff called us liars. Several other customers were at the front desk complaining their non smoking rooms smelled terrible or were in the same position as us. Staff seemed unhelpful and not too bothered by the large queue forming due to the unhappy guests. Once we arrived at our room it was clear that the walls were paper thin and the room next door were playing loud music to make things worse. I'd avoid this hotel at all costs, first 5 minutes in the door were enough to put me off. Just terrible.

We stayed here last night and loved it. Haven't got a bad word to say about the place! The pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were all lovely and just what we wanted. Great location and friendly staff.

Since my last stay there, the standard seems to have dropped a little. Food and waitress service was very good but wasn’t impressed with the layout of the menu, looked like a fast food menu.
Initially had a debugging fight in my room with an eight legged fiend and a moth that kept hassling me, other that that, it was ok.

Very very bad. Outraged and disgusted. If I could give no stars I would. I have a disabled daughter and made the hotel aware of this at booking and they gave us a first floor room with no lift. The manager then remarked that we don't know what kind of disability you have people could be deaf and can still walk up stairs. It seems the requirement to stay in this hotel is to be able to walk. He then told me that by law they are not required to have a lift for one floor up. This hotel, it seems, needs to be forced by law to help the disabled or indeed anyone who is not fit and healthy. Very discriminatory and a complete disregard for caring.

Enjoy using the pool facilities. Always clean and tidy. Remember to put your registration number into the computer or you will get fined. Loads of parking. Easy transport links.

Stayed there last November great place very clean and friendly staff. Good location for getting into town. Park&ride 5mins walk away. Straight into town dropping you right outside all main shops and restaurants. Would recommend to all.

Sorry folks but overall not good. Pool, Gym and staff all great but two moans. First the double bed was small and the mattress for me hard but more importantly the food in the Restaurant was terrible. Let me say my expectations are not high for chain hotel food so I try to order simple meals that should be hard to get wrong. This place defeated even that strategy. My garlic mushrooms were sliced mushrooms straight out of a tin, cold and with no garlic plonked on cold toast! …My chicken and ham pie — individual size — managed to be dessicated on the inside but with cold pastry, accompanied by cold peas and the most tasteless fries I have ever eaten. Other choices in our group were equally bad or worse. The fish in the fish and chips was no more than a frozen portion fryer to death and as for quality any Supermarket offering is better. Finally don't even think about ordering the Veggie Burger. There is simply nothing good about it at all. All in all terrible and expensive with it.

Spot on. Clean, comfortable and large family room. Comfy pillows, air conditioning. Toilet a bit tempremental. Great to have the pool etc to play in. I don't think the regulars to the pool we're too happy. Breakfast was the best. Even poached eggs to order! The only negative was access. Not knowing the area we took the dangerous route to get to a brothers house down the road. We should have asked the receptionist. Just go down towards Sainsburys petrol station to get across the roundabout safely.

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Very clean tidy rooms. Great facilities. For business. Holiday Maker's or gym bunnies with the spirit health club. And training and conference rooms for business.

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE AND WILL NEVER RETURN AGAIN! Holiday Inn need to reconsider the company who they have to manage their car park because IT IS A SHAMBLES! Went to the Holiday Inn on 26th April for a work related meeting, used their bar and restaurant. 14th May (yesterday) I receive £100 fine from their car park management company Parking Eye. It is not on! You go in thinking you are paying for food and/or drinks and later you find out that the cost has gone up due to a parking fine that should not have been issued in the first place! Such a joke!

Staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite nice and quiet. The location can be good if you're in the area for business at the industrial/business park otherwise it's a little out of the way from anything that's more central to Gloucester. That being said, it's not too far to walk to get the bus to the centre. On the plus side, it being out of the way means that it is in a quiet location. The breakfast was a standard selection of items. Overall, it was a nice stay.

This is an IHG in need of a refurbishment. I regularly stay in Holiday Inn across the UK and this one had relatively poor facilities. For example the shower was built for someone around 5' tall and adjusts only a small amount — I'm only 6' and had to almost kneel down to wash my hair. Tiny rooms and only basic facilities, but compared to Holiday Inn Norwich City this is very rudimentary. Bit surprised that this is listed as "Gloucester — Cheltenham", but is most definitely not Cheltenham. The staff were helpful, professional and courteous though. Room service was fast and well presented.

Thank you so much for our stay last night room 153. From the moment we arrived the girls behind reception were amazing, the bar staff too. Today we were so impressed by the hard work and joyful manner of the staff and the hotel spa/pool staff were great too. Had a lovely swim. The staff cleaning the rooms were pleasant too and my what a great job they do. Obvioysly, you cant help fellow travellers ie two rather load OAP men hugging bottles of wine like naughty teenagers but overall a fantastic stay. Thank you.

The hotel includes a gym and a swimming pool for guests. The gym provides fitness classes everyday. Breakfast is a buffet served from 0630 to 0930. The restaurant food wasnt great quality. The staff were friendly and rooms cleaned daily.

Room small and a bit tried. Very quiet at night. Good food and frendley staff.

Don't rely on the photos on line in regards to the room you'll stay in. The rooms are comfortable but dated. The first room we had was small and the TV didn't work, the 2nd room was larger, which felt less claustrophobic. However, what the hotel lacks in looks is far exceeded by the staff. They are fantastic and incredibly helpful, and it's this which has makes the hotel.

We’ve stayed here before to go and watch the ruby as it’s a perfect location but last night was something else. There was a wedding on which is absolutely fine. But no warning about it when we checked in. We were put in room 102. That room was the first room at the top of the stairs next to the fire door. The noise was unreal the fire doors banged all night. The kids in the reception area were up and down the stairs for most of the wedding evening. When we checked out this morning the hotel was very unclean there were glasses everywhere cigarette butts all over the front and the staff didn’t seem to care. What I can’t understand is why we were put so close to the wedding and not further round the hotel. It will make me think twice about booking to stay here again and all in all a bit of a disappointment. Last time we were here it was lovely that’s why we re booked!

Small room bit tired but comfortable fixed shower. Ask for anything you need staff most helpful lovely breakfast lovely evening meal. Staff in restaurant fantastic. Not all freeview on tv. Very happy with price we paid. Didn't use spa or pool no time.

Good hotel with good facilities which included nice sauna, steam room. Lovely food and staff are friendly. Stayed for 4 nights One thing that put me off is plates, bowls, glasses for breakfast were not clean. We did inform reception but no change.

Standard you expect from a Holiday Inn. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Room was clean, comfortable, reasonably well equipped although I didn't see a safe in the room. Bathroom was clean and modern and in good working order. Restaurant offered a decent choice on the menu and on the night I stayed it was curry specials. Portion size was enough for me but some might think it was "economy" size. Quality was good and service timely. Staff were attentive, professional and friendly. 1 star docked for not offering either cask ale or craft beer. Server did not know what "craft" beer meant. No it doesn't mean Becks, Stella or other chain breweries, nor does it mean any bottled beer. Don't blame the server, just a staff training issue. Minor point which didn't spoil my overall experience. First time staying here, will use again.

Good facilities, gym, pool and meeting rooms. Fairly standard breakfast and dinner. Bedrooms are a bit old and dated, could do with a refurb. Good location for business in the local area.

I went there a about a couple of months ago and I watched football on sky sports which I enjoy. I went back there last week to ask about a game & the bar man said that they've got rid of it. You should get it back as lots of the football is on sky. Telling customers that you can't watch football is a bad idea as your loosing business & they go elsewhere. Please get it back!

Holiday Inn would be great if they served brandy in a brandy glass. Without using the feeble excuse that they had run out of brandy glasses. With less than 8 people in the bar all drinking beer the fact that I am black is insignificant!

Only stayed for one night but was pleased with my accommodation very comfortable bed room was warm and clean. Three course evening meal was very good and the breakfast was excellent. If I'm ever in the area again I'll stay there.

Good breakfast but was very slow to be seated. Comfy beds, clean, friendly receptionist but the TV Remote was missing from my room also, so couldn't watch TV in bed!

Attended a wedding on Saturday as the giver of the bride. The room we got ready in was well supplied, bright and plenty of space for 6 grown women to get ready in. The wedding room was decorated impeccably, the reception room also. The wedding planner from the hotel did a wonderful job of organizing everything and the toast master was friendly and well organised. The 3 course meal was absolutely delicious, served quickly by the staff who were also accommodating to everyone's needs. The food was hot when it arrived and we didn't have to wait too long between courses. The buffet for the evening was also serious and catered for everyone's tastes. All in all it was a wonderful day. The only problem was there were only 2 bar staff to serve the wedding guests as well as guests staying at the hotel, so it was about a 20 minute wait to be served. The prices of the drinks are around average for a hotel but I did think that £8.95 for a glass of wine to be a bit expensive. The wedding package was well worth the money though and they have a beautiful patio area for the photo's. The toilets in the lobby were very clean too! All in all a fabulous day was had by all.

Booked a family room for 5 people, arranged via email beforehand. Unfortunately the hotel only proveded 4 beds but it wasn't a problem, our little slept on the floor with pillows and a duvet. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the breakfast was very good indeed, although a little slow to replenish stuff when it ran out. The hotel was clean but could do with a refurb really, some areas are starting to look a bit dated and worn. Overall though it was a good stay and I would stay again if in the area again.

A decent hotel with friendly staff. We had a family room that was supposed to sleep 5 but they had only set up enough for 4 of us. We had to make up an extra one on the floor using the cushions from the sofa but it wasn't a problem. The room was clean but a little tired. Plenty of toiletries & towels & lots of space. Breakfast was lovely but they ran out of things way before the end of time & didn't bother to replace them.

The attention of the staff and their effort to solve our problems was excellent. The hotel itself is outdated. We had to wait one day for the crib to be given to our son who we had ordered in advance. The thermostat was not working and the phone was impossible to make calls outside the hotel.

Would not stay again, worst Holiday Inn ever. The bed was uncomfortable (super hard). The executive room upgrade did not match their description (it states a "unwind with complimentary magazines… bathrobes… mini bar … stocked with chocolates… " " but in reality you get a single business magazine, one bath robe (for a room with 3 people booked), and one chocolate bar, a dairy milk, to share, left out in the sun. Sign says "if you don't think we're 10/10 tell us" so we told these things to front desk who just said they were sorry to hear it. Outside of the hotels control it was also noisy (room 53 is next to where people go outside to smoke), and it's just generally dated and run down throughout.

Our first visit was enjoyable… not so much this time. I asked for a quiet room… they placed us beside a loud family with screaming children. The family was in there room before us. Bathroom was dirty… dark hair on the floor… hard to miss… bath scum ring in the tub… due to the plugged drain… a quick shower had the tub filled past your ankles! The water eventually drained. No fan in the bathroom… the steam revealed the dirty spotted mirror. Makes you wonder if they cleaned the counters or sink… or anything! Towels were well worn with threads showing. Bed sheets were well worn and itchy. I did not sleep well and ended up using the top sheet to sleep on. No TV hand control in the room… had to ask twice to receive one from the front desk. Curtains hanging off the track, sticky desk. No fridge or microwave. Discarded room service trays left on the floor in the hallway with staff walking right by them. For a Holiday Inn, the condition of this room was ridiculous. If I was the franchisor I would be doing an audit of this location immediately. Shameful. I won't be back. Deborah Clark.

Really basic and not very cheap for that experience. Awful breakfast provision. Service at 9.05pm when I arrived was very poor. Surly and unapologetic. Oh and one iron for the whole place.

Was here for a frisbee tourament. Decent size rooms (had 10 people in a room hanging out at one point) A little old, but great value for the price. Sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable.

The staff were very friendly and helpful with information on local sights to see. Breakfast was a traditional full English breakfast bar. The food tastes great and is very filling. Rooms were clean with comfortable furnishings. Every evening they would put a full size chocolate bar on my pillow. My experiences with the Holiday Inn at Barnwood are completely satisfying.

We had a very good experience of this hotel. I will be recommending it to all my friends.

Not bad rooms better dan most hotels and the bed is nice not like most hotels were the bed is concrete overall good place to stay.

The room I had didn't have a ceiling light which made it quite gloomy overall. The food is uninspired and the breakfast buffet often looks dried out. Very good gym and pool so great value for money on that front.
