Great Hotel for a break away, good food and excellent service.

Loved our stay here! Rooms were lovely, staff all very friendly helpful and welcoming and the food was really tasty. We would definitely come back here.

Staff where great Food was really Good just one thing don't go on about custard or they serve you a bowl for breakfast, my fault for that one.

Got married here, I can not fault a single thing. The staff were exceptional from start to finish, helping out werever they could. Good was great. I would happily recommend the Mayfair to anyone staying for a holiday or wanting to get married. Thank you so much for helping make our special day even better.

I have travelled down from Southampton with my cousin to stay here, we booked and was told that we had to pay at the time of arrival, I was more than happy to do this to then find out from the hotel that they do not take contactless and been told by hotel staff to travel back to Southampton to get my bank and then return to stay the night. The hotel staff member then told me they don’t do cancellations so I had no choice to pay, after going on the original website I booked from, it then told me that I had to pay a £40 cancellation fee, I also offered to pay £10 cash and the rest on card which they turned down again telling me that If I wanted to pay cash I had to pay that with a £50 deposit on top, I don’t have the money to do that so then again looked into cancelling it, they again told me that either way I had to pay £40 cancellation fee which was the price of my room so either way I’m paying for a room to not stay there! Definitely won’t be returning or booking a room at this hotel again, absolutely disgusted with the manner of the staff and the way they go about payments.

This place is spot on, I'm no snob and I know it's not the Hilton but this place is a roof and bed for the night just like any other hotel. The staff here are very pleasant and extremely good at their job, with the service at breakfast time better than most hotels I've stopped in. The poached eggs are to die for, best poached eggs for miles and they provide you with prunes too if you feel the need to empty due to over indulgence from the night before. Very good spot and location for functions too if you require a room to entertain guests, birthdays, weddings etc and parking too. I would highly recommend staying here if you're planning a night out on the town as you're less than a 5 minute walk from main shopping area and pubs/clubs. Thanks to the Mayfair staff for making our stay comfortable and hopefully we will return again.

I found the hotel very good food was excellent and the staff couldn't do enough to help you overall I think it's a very good hotel for the price.

We visited twice, firstly for a delightful Sunday lunch, and then for an organised birthday celebration. The food, service and staff are excellent.

Apart from the town center location it doesn't have a lot going for it, the rooms are dated, the layout is confusing the lift is useless and the stairs are a nightmare Alright for a bed to sleep in and not a whole lot more Breakfast was average at best.

Great location to stay with inclusive parking. The rooms are well presented and always kept clean.

Staff friendly Carol on Reception was really nice very helpful food was lovely only problem was never had telly for 2 days even though we said for 2 days in a row and it was sorted on the 3 day we was going back on the 4 day shame but still enjoyed our stay love Bournemouth will be staying at the same hotel again.

Very relax informal hotel. Very smart decor and rooms clean and tidy. All have on suite bathrooms. Staff are very polite and friendly Restaurant smart and produces good food. Thoroughly recommend.

Food poor. Steak inedible. Vegetables could. Disco good.

Lack of attention to BASIC details ruined what could have been a good time. Shortage of staff who really knew what they were doing. We were there for a Christmas function, the meal service took ages and resulted in it being tepid at best. Rooms were cold, beds uncomfortable. Aware this hotel has been recently taken over by a good local hotel group and from experience of their other hotels this can only be a good thing g.

I ended up here as it was the most reasonably priced hotel in the area for a Saturday night @ £52 and in all honesty I was pleasantly surprised… I mean yeah it's not the most modern place but it had everything I needed and it was clean… the double shower was spot on and the staff were friendly! My only criticism is the parking… there are spaces available but definitely not enough for everyone in the hotel… people parking on the grass and others blocking people in… I wouldn't mind but the parking in Bournemouth is bloody expensive… anyway… as it stands I managed to squeeze in somewhere so overall a good experience for me ☺️

Location of the Mayfair hotel is excellent. 6 mins walk to beech and town. 2 min walk from bars. Rooms were basic and nothing special. We were in a room in the attic and was a hike and half from the lift. Service though was excellent. We were attending a wedding and the food, although mass produced, was fresh, warm and all on time.

Attended the hotel for a full day wedding; ceremony, dinner and reception. Food was decent and staff courteous throughout the day. Only minor issue is perhaps more staff required; took a while to serve food and tidy tables, plus only one barman for much of the night so slow service. Overall though a very pleasant day with nothing to really complain about.

Room was ok, very dated hotel, couldn't see the TV as it was at a strange angle to the bed and the free Wi-Fi was non existent, luckily the Wi-Fi from the next door hotel was strong enough.

Hotel great location, we stayed here for a wedding which was at the Mayfair hotel, the wedding day was lovely, so on booking in went to our room the bed you could feel the springs no way could u sleep on this bed, at first was told no other room was available, so asked for our money back but as we had booked with booking. Com was told by hotel we wouldn't get our money back so phoned booking. Com that said yes we could so some confusion there, but in the end the management changed our room and bed was a bit better, but really not acceptable to have to sleep on not very good uncomfortable beds so come on the Mayfair hotel sort out up grade your beds.

Poor service and dreadful drinks. Tepid cider into a red hot glass from the dishwasher anyone? Had a big booking and just got messed around. Crappy and will not return.

The rooms are overpriced and the hotel is rundown. Bar area and function rooms are quite nice all though the drinks are expensive.

Located easy walking distance to the seafront. Good food and friendly staff. Rooms are a little tired and cramped but perfectly adequate.

Quite dated, and rather small rooms. In need of refurbishment. Other than that, good location and pleasant staff.

You can only check in after 2 pm which is a bit rubbish seeing as they do not advertise this leaving me to sit in the car park for an hour. The hotel rooms are considerably low budget which is strange seeing as its over one hundred pounds per night. The staff and cleaners struggle with basic customer service and English. Lastly I would not stay here again. There are better hotels.

Lovely hotel with lovely staff and great atmosphere. The rooms could do with a little updating in line with the rest of the hotel. The food was great. extremely good valve.

Very friendly reception staff. Location is central 10 mins walk to train station or beach. Didn't stay so unsure of the rooms but general option of the hotel was rather dated and old fashioned but welcoming.

I little disappointed by our visit 01/04/2016 — 03/04/2016. Our room was very warm and the window only opened a fraction! The toilet had a putrid stench so had to keep the door shut — never anyone around (I understand as it is a hotel and they have duties to be fulfilled, however, someone on reception would be good for meeting and greeting! ) Extremely noisy on the first night due to a wedding taking place to 2am (not good with a 2 and a half year old! 2nd night, more noise — running up and down the corridor & upstairs til early hours! Left on Sunday morning to the receptionist being asked to provide a refund! A real shame… but LOVE Bournemouth!

Very good value for money, excellent breakfast, so convenient for beaches and town centre.

1st september 2012, I was invited to a friends wedding held at the mayfair hotel, I was the photographer at the wedding. What a lovely hotel I was very impressed by the decor, it was lovely the room where the ceromany took place looked stunning as did the room where the wedding breakfast was served, the small garden was perfect foe photos, the meal was excellent, the evening buffet was also first class, the disco was great, I really cant give of a bad comment about the mayfair id sum it up as perfect thankyou for a great day.

The hotel is relatively close to beach and a little away from the Center.
To start it has no elevator, a forklift and above fails to plant the last. You can't control the temperature in the room and you die of heat. On the website says that you have internet but when it comes to the truth we could connect us one day. The solution you gave us at the reception is that it was our computer (which works perfectly). The carpet of the room spotted. The mattress very uncomfortable. The decor (especially the bathroom) very old. Noises of doors during the night. When the room cleaning is done they leave towels, linens and utensils of the workers through the halls… Finally…
