Really enjoyed our stay. We did not have one of the marque rooms but it was spacious! The room could have done with hand soap, especially in this COVID age but other than that the breakfast was adequate and the evening meal was good. The menu choices are limited but all options are favourites. Pity that this hotel, like many other establishments, is struggling with staff. Everyone was very friendly. We also played golf and loved the course though the greens could be a bit better.

Lovely hotel and staff r very friendly, nothing s to much, decor is fabulous love the chandelier s, room very spacious beds very comfortable, the breakfast very tasty and evening meals very nice, can’t wait to comeback.

We stayed here at the end of July, myself husband and two children and it was lovely. We felt very safe all restrictions met, we stayed in a family room which was very spacious. Breakfast was gorgeous and all staff were very accomadating. Would definitely recommend thank you xx.

We loved our stay here. The property was lovely and light, spacious, clean and welcoming. The grounds were beautiful — the home is surrounded by a golf course with woodland walks. The staff were amazing — everyone was extremely friendly and helpful — they made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to make the stay memorable. The staff decorated the room before our arrival as this trip was celebrating my daughters 16th birthday. My daughter had an amazing time and loved everything about it. The food was amazing — we enjoyed meals in the bar area and room service. The prices are very reasonable and the portions were huge! Service was brilliant and the rooms were clean and had everything we needed. We will be returning soon as both of my girls enjoyed the break so much they can’t wait to come back! Unfortunately the spa, swimming pool and tennis courts were closed due to Covid — obviously unavoidable — but they will all be open soon and looked absolutely amazing — we will be coming back to try them out!

We would highly recommend Elfordleigh because all aspects of our stay were of a high standard. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the leisure activities are excellent. The food served at the Churchill's restaurant was amazing. Definately worth a visit.

Just spent the week at the Elfordleigh… fantastic… room was amazing, facilities and food were great and the staff were very helpful and friendly… only recommendation would be to improve the Wi-Fi access in the rooms as it was a bit hit and miss… apart from that… superb.

We’ve just had our wedding ceremony and reception here and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Chloe the wedding planner was on top of everything and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks for a great wedding!

My husband and I held our wedding reception here and we cant recommend this place enough, the hotel staff were amazing from start to finish (very attentive). We had use of the buggys to be taken down to the lake to have our photos taken which was arrange by the staff which was beautiful. We also booked a bridal suite which was outstanding a lovely big room, very clean and gorgeous views. The food was also great especially the cream teas. Thanks again look forward to coming back.

Absolutely beautiful cream tea. The one with scones, macaroons little cheese cakes, sandwiches. And not forgetting cream and jam. We asked for more cream and jam great staff, highly recommend taking someone nice xx.

Been playing golf here for a few years now. I can honestly say that the course is the best it has ever been and the green are stunningly good at the moment.
I would say that at £28 the buggies are quite expensive, but other than that, it's currently a great option for a local course.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. Great room and spa facilities. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We will most definitely be coming back for another visit!

We’ve just returned from a wonderful night away at Elfordleigh for our friends wedding. The welcome we received was warm and friendly from your two new staff.
Our room (30 Augusta) was absolutely beautiful. Everything we needed for a comfortable night. The beds were so comfy — our son said it was the best nights sleep he’d had for ages! … We then went to the spa for a swim, jacuzzi and steam. The pool was spotlessly clean, lovely temperature and we loved the jacuzzi and steam room. We asked for a few things from reception and nothing was too much trouble. The buffet food at the reception was lovely, really tasty. Breakfast was also really good quality and they made extra hash browns for us because we came near the end of service. We’d paid for a late check out at 12 which was totally worth it. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, we came away feeling refreshed and will definitely be back in the future. Will also recommend to our friends.

I wish I could give it 5 stars. Unfortunately, there were 2 incidents that dropped it's rating. One, my massage was horrid. Two, wrong room type. But, that said, I LOVE ELFORDLEIGH! The staff are AMAZING, the views lovely, the beds are like clouds and the grounds immaculate. Do NOT go for a short weekend — you will regret not staying longer. It is that fabulous! We went for a bank holiday and wish we had stayed a week! While not on the seaside, it is a short drive away and you are surrounded by lush green of a golf course. I would have loved to play, but I was hosting and could not leave my friend who doesn't golf. It is also perfect if you need a quiet place to work. Again, I love this place! (Which is evident in my lack of suitable pictures for I was too busy enjoying Elfordleigh.

Great golf course, quite hilly, very picturesque. Food in the bar is great and reasonably priced, swimming pool in the leisure area is very good. We have stayed in the hotel once, the room was ok but slightly dated, but the rooms have had a refurbishment since then so I'm sure they are more up to date now.

Brilliant place! Visited here many years ago when it was very run down. However the new fresh look is amazing and rooms are very clean. Staff friendly and food is fantastic!

Thanks to all the staff. My daughter's wedding day was amazing. The venue was faultless attention to detail was top quality and the staff were professional friendly and willing to help with anything. The most beautiful country house in the south west,,, great staff great food great views xx stayed with a group of ladies and we couldn’t fault a thing xx worth every 5 star. … loved loved loved x.

Always friendly and helpful staff. The cooked breakfast is great. And the best thing is that you can eat there even if you are not staying. Staying is also highly recommended.

Me and my new husband just got married here (09/06/2018), both ceremony and reception very well accommodated by all staff. We had an amazing day from the wedding itself all the way through to the evening celebrations, I really couldn't fault any part of our special day. Big mention has to go to Sarah our wedding coordinator during the whole process she was very attentive and went above and beyond for us on the day including Chloe! The grounds were incredible for photos, highly recommend. Recently refurbished throughout so safe to say our bridal suite was soooo lovely and very comfortable. Thank you Elfordleigh for such a perfect wedding day, we look forward to returning to celebrate the memories made!

Good Tee positions and condition, fairways and greens very good condition. Very hilly,, felt Rushed by two balls following us, No sign of Marshals only green keepers. Left after Hoke 13.

A very nice hotel with a very beautiful view. The streets to and from the hotel a very special (very small).
The breakfast will be prepared fresh.

The food is excellent. Best bar burger in the UK for sure. The presentation of the rib eye looks too good to eat and when you do eat it, you are in heaven.
Rooms are very nice and the service is friendly and personal. You are not just another bill!

I took my Mum here for a weekend spa break. The staff were very kind, friendly and helpful. We had a twin room that overlooked the golf course which was very spacious and decorated to a high standard. The restaurant had a small menu but served excellent food — both the three course evening meal and breakfast. The leisure facilities were brilliant and staff there were also very accomodating. We both enjoyed a massage in their spa which was very peaceful and relaxing! Would highly recommend staying here.

Lovely relaxing hotel in the countryside of Plympton just outside Plymouth the Elfordleigh has a golf course that wraps itself around the hotel. The staff are welcoming and helpful the hotel has a restaurant and bar of which you can also order cooked and cold food afternoon tea is also served. The hotel has a swimming pool and spa hairdresser and other treatments that you can have. Well worth a visit if just to relax breakfast is included in your stay with plenty of options to choose from.

I had a fantastic spa day at elfordleigh today. The staff were all so lovely, and made me feel really special. The treatments were lovely, and I left feeling really relaxed and happy. The venue was in the middle of renovations, so a bit messy in places. But the parts that were finished looked lovely and the service was wonderful. I hope I will be lucky enough to come back one day!

Stayed as overnight guest, ample parking, lovely location. Room was huge, very comfortable and well presented. Excellent gym and pool facilities. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Ate a fantastic meal in the bar, very tasty. Nice atmosphere and lovely pool table area. Breakfast was very nice too, made to order with high quality produce. Overall excellent quality, lovely staff and very reasonably priced. Well done. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Friendly staff, rooms recently refurbished. Scaffolding up outside for repainting. Good food available in bar or restaurant. Comfortable seating in lounge area next to bar. Will go again.

Nice venue but very cold! Not even the hot water was very hot. Staff was welcoming and very smiling. Breakfast wasn’t good but wasn’t bad as well so I guess was acceptable.

Great place for an over night stay. Great service and breakfast. Rooms are comfortable and warm. Spa available for added rest and relaxation. Recommended.

Beautiful location, friendly staff. Let down by quality of food. Breakfast was lovely, however would recommend going elsewhere for dinner. Burger from bar was charcoaled with microwaved chips, meal from restaurant was not cheap or fresh. Such a shame.

The rooms are not very good. It looks like past its best before date. Needs a refurbishment. TV sets a tiny. Food is not bad, breakfast is average.

Visited the day spa. I had an enjoyable hot stone therapy with Carol. It was very relaxing and I would have the treatment again. The facilities are nice but lacking some TLC. Only thing missing was a nice place to sit and gave out complimentary tea, only having reception or a sofa I a corridor as options. I would go back for treatments but not a day spa.

Room was like an oven and the day wasn't that hot. Couldn't open bedroom window because of kitchen fan noise and smell of food. Had gammon and chips in bar — gammon overcooked and tough. Egg overcooked and had to ask for condiments. When they arrived I was given an empty salt pot no vinegar and a handful of ketchup sachets chucked on the table. Underwhelming experience so cut short my stay and went elsewhere. Golf course looked lovely when sat outside waiting for overcooked dinner.

Just about to spend my third night here. Can't wait to come back! The Chicken Caesar Salad was possibly the nicest I've ever had, anywhere.

Beautiful historic building with 18 hole golf course and fantastic views over the countryside down to Plymouth. The rooms here are great, many recently refurbished, the family rooms are enormous. The bar prices are reasonable, the food, whether from the bar or restaurant is excellent.

A wonderful hotel for holidays or social events. Had a family party there with great food and lovely staff. The views at the hotel and amazing, and there are enough facilities to keep the whole family occupied on a rainy day. Tough 18 hole golf course for any budding golfers.

Lovely rooms, very spacious, dog and child friendly, good exercise facilities and wonderful grounds. Good breakfast and brasserie food was good too. Customer service second to none. Could just do with an exterior paint job and swimming pool upgrade then I'd give 5*.

I have just spent the weekend here celebrating my niece's wedding. What a fantastic venue. The room where the ceremony took place would not have looked out of place in a top notch period drama. The bar and restaurant food is excellent and amazing value. I had the best Sunday roast I have had outside of my own kitchen for years! The food served at the wedding was top class. All the details were attended to so that the wedding went really smoothly. Our room overlooked the golf course and was really beautiful. Finally, what brilliant staff they have. Everyone was really lovely — especially Thomas in the bar. I would thoroughly endorse Elfordleigh as a wedding venue.

Visited recently for a wedding reception. Lovely location and very friendly staff. Room perfect size and with good facilities, nice view over the golf course. Breakfast in the morning was very nice too.

I have always loved this hotel as it was our wedding venue. The views over the golf course are spectacular. This time we visited for a Ball that a friend had organised as usual a lively place to have such an event, however compared to previous experience the food could have been alot better.

It's set in a beautiful part of Devon, it's clean and friendly staff are most helpful. I will be going back soon. Please note the wonderful portel entrance I have and will continue to have good links there.

Beautiful location, the hotel itself was nice and clean. The staff were very hospitable. The room was spacious and the bathroom was very nice. The only drawback of the stay was the fact that they're currently in the middle of a refurb, so there was a heavy paint smell everywhere in the hotel.

Lovely room whilst staying over whilst attending a 50th anniversary celebration. The service was great and the meal they provided was excellent.

The staff were incredibly attentive. The new decor looks great. The food was amazing! It has been too long since we last visited, we won't leave it so long to visit again.

We were invited to a birthday meal recently and must say our food was not very nice, The starter was not very warm, The steak had more fat than meat and had a pepper sauce on that took your breath away, not very nice we felt that the sauce was put on to cover the fatty meat, I can not comment on the other food that everyone had only that there was a lot of food left on peoples plates. The food we had is not worth a single star, The waitresses were young and friendly but when coming out with the food especially the steak did not seem to know what they were doing, this was after they previously took down how people wanted their steak cooked, The bar man was pleasant, when his shift finished he came to the room we were in shook the birthday boys hand and whished him happy birthday, a very nice gesture, he will go far. The room we had our meal in looked clean and the layout for the table was nice. On waiting for a taxi we got talking to a couple outside that had just had a meal in the restaurant, they said there food was not very nice and would not be going back.

Not been here in a while but memory serves a restful environment with a great choice of activities, leaving the golf to the men.

Stayed here for 4 weeks on business. Consistent good level of service. Great breakfast & evening meal choice. Sky sports on 2 tv's in bar area.
