This is one of my favourite places. Absolutely spectacular scenery. Walks for all abilities — from flat and paved in parts to pretty much rock climbing in others. Has public Loos too. If you can go to the open air theatre shows they do there there too, you should, it's always great.

Beautiful valley bounded by green slopes and rocky Tors that descend almost vertically to the sea. Gets crowded in the Summer… best visited off season as part of a round walk or as a stop along the SW coastal path. Be sure to climb to the high point as the views are stunning. And look out for the white lady!

Lovely hotel and located with stunning views, shame its on double yellow lines. Does have a small car park. If you love walking there is plenty of lovely walks in the area.

Stunning cliffs and rock formations — especially beautiful on a sunny day! The path is tarmac too so could be walked with a buggy (if you don't mind a steep climb! ). Easy walk from here to Lynton and the funicular Cliff Railway.

What a place! Amazing views! Ample parking and public toilets (very clean too. ) the path it self is perfect for all ages there is some benches on the way for a rest if you need one, they’re perfect for watching the goats too.

The most amazing landscape. High up rocky outcrops (with goats), fern-covered valley floor and sides, and a beautiful, hard-to-access beach (steep cimbing path).

Stunning piece of coastline just a few minutes walk from Lynton town centre. I've always made the Valley of the Rocks a destination everytime I wi visit the area. The incredible vistas, walk and goats make it a must-see experience. There is parking which is free during winter up til Feb but about £2 otherwise. There is an honesty box toll road further down the road so don't go too far past the Christian hotel retreat. The paths around are pretty clear and easy, even with a wheelchair, but don't get too close to the edge as it's quite sheer; people with vertigo should stay on the road route. Along the way, look out for mountain goats chilling on the cliff edges who make hiking look easy. The easiest route we found was from the church in Lynton and if you're up for a good hike, the Hunters Inn is about 2.5 hours in total.

Perhaps the most beautiful place to visit in Devon. These high rise unique rock formations are absolutely beautiful and well worth visiting on a trip to devon. The car park is no less than 1000 feet from the main attraction and with a well worth it car park price with plenty of place in it and even in June it's not full. Also a lot of people don't know this but there is also a secret beach behind the rocks well the main rock. The view from the top of the rock is like no other you have to see it for your self.

Awesome place to visit! Friendly priced car park with tea rooms near by. Narrow path by high cliffs may ask for brave heart, but outstanding views worth it. Blue ocean, blue sky and sun dipping into thick cloud… romantic mood while wild goats watching You! As most of North Devon must go!

Very foggy & spooky to walk round. Nice flat car park and if you have a lynton 4day car park pass you can park in several car parks in the area. Coffee from the cafe very good and they do decaf.

This is a lovely bit of North Devon coastline with very interesting rock formations where you can spend the day climbing and exploring before watching the sun set into the sea (weather dependent! ) It is on the South West Coast Path and easy walking distance from Lynton. The views of the whole area are spectacular and it is definitely worth your while to take in Six Acre Woods, Crock Point and any of the nearby bays. It was lambing season when we were there and the fields around Lee Abbey were full of them! It's a great place to take the kids, it's dog friendly and I saw people of all ages enjoying everything the area has to offer.

Devon's monument valley :-) Stunning (and rather windy in winter). Great coast walk into Lynmouth from here. Would love to come back in Summer and see a cricket match.

This is such a lovely place its a real pity that its open to the public… I'm glad I went there in the winter. It must be hell on earth in the summer.

It's clearly signposted, a beautiful coastal path. From Lynmouth town its a steep hill walk up but it's worth it. Has a stretch where there is quite a steep drop, just be weary if you're not good with heights.

Aptly named! The rock formations and dramatic coast are with a visit.

Make sure you give yourself enough time in the day to walk around the sea front. The views are extraordinary.

Be sure to bring change for parking. The area is still in the middle ages with parking machines which don't accept card payment. Beautiful otherwise.

Drove along the toll road towards combs Martin, never again it was really scary and seemed to go on and on forever, lucky I did not meet any other cars. Vally of the rocks beautiful.

A great place to walk peaceful, and plenty of good views, warning the path ways is not for the faint hearted if you don't like heights, there are goats let loose everywhere they don't do much just eat grass and poo hardly notice people at all, the café is friendly set in an old stone cottage, the toilet is a week flush if you use it, ofcourse rocks are everywhere but in a good way, very dramatic land scape.

Wonderful coastal path which offers: superb rock formations, rock hopping goats, plenty of benches for a sit down, toilets and a couple of car parks. If you are in this area, this is a 'must see' spot.

What an amazing place, absolutely spectacular rock formations. And the restaurant besides the car park couldn't have been more helpful providing excellent food at short notice right on closing time. (Thank you if you read this)

Great place to visit, even with smaller kids. The walk around the valley is good and easy to do, even with a push chair. The landscape is breathtaking.

Beautiful views around the valley and surrounding area. Coastal path to the valley can get very windy and is narrow in places so if you're with young children and pets be wary of this. Also there are wild goats and sheep roaming here so dogs need to be kept under control. It is easily accessible by car and there is pay and display parking available. If you're into fossil finding this is an excellent place to explore as fossils can be found in the loose scree but again be careful as the scree is unstable underfoot. We found a couple of small fossils within about half an hour of looking!

Really nice walk. You can start from lynton and then follow the coastal path signs. Really easy to find.

On a good day this is a nice walk with great views. You may even be able to see Wales if it isn't cloudy.

A fantastic place to visit. Not for the faint hearted though, as you suddenly find yourself walking along a cliff edge with no, and I mean no, safety barrier between you and the sea.

The coastal walk from Lynton is an unforgettable experience. Here find England's green and pleasant land… and the goats. Uplifting, inspiring and unconditionally recommended.

Good value for money, clean room clean towels, comfy beds, staff friendly, breakfast very good, main meal. Small portions and not very hot, … overall … the hotel is victorian, and still carries on the vistorian decor in main lounge and hallways, could do with a facelift, the lighting is quite dim, gave me a headache,. Dirty windows in the room, small tv, made it uncomfortable to watch, unless right in front of it, bathroom was adeqate, but plain, no handle on light pull, just the string, decor in the room was bland and dated, enjoyed the stay, but the hotel is looking really tired and in need of decorating with some brighter colours, it was very sombre, and dismal.

Have done "turkey & tinsel" here on many occasions The main lounge has faded Victorian feel with its three story high decor in cast iron structure. Well up to Sheering usual standards which I would describe as exceedingly adequate!

Very good certainly value for money.
