Room 3 lovely spacious room, Could not near a thing even though was at the front.

Lovely hosts and lovely staff who we met over the 3 days.
Great place to stay to explore all the surrounding areas.

Nice but… It is really a very nice place. But we got into one room which was smelling very bad and rain ran through the vent. Maybe bad luck, but it should'nt happen. Food and drinks were absolutely okay!

Just had a great couple of days at the horse and jockey, the staff and chef were awesome could not do enough and friendly. Comfortable and well appointed room. Food was fantastic and so filling plenty to choose from, also locals were very welcoming and friendly. Thank you horse and jockey we will return xx.

Fantastic country pub with good beer, amazing home-cooked food and a great Landlady! The rooms are very clean, breakfast is good and plentiful and the views are stunning. They had a 1940s themed day when I was there which was brilliant and the kids thouroughly enjoyed themselves. Highly recommended!

We really loved the Horse and Jockey. We were a stag do staying in the area and found this place very inviting with friendly locals, amazing staff and good, well priced booze and food. The burgers were tasty and they put on a good full cooked breakfast for us the next day.

This is a lovely, cosy and period pub that provides great quality B&B and homecooked food. Cathy (the Manager), her daughter Maisie, housekeeper Claire and other staff are brilliant. The result is a perfect village centre B&B base for anyone wanting to explore the Peak District for a few days or a week or longer. Highly recommended to potential customers from all walks of life wishing to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Exceptionally friendly staff and no nonsense home cooked food. I would highly recommend the cheese board with a pint of Old Rosie cider.

Decent selection of beers. Didn't eat so can't comment on that. Staff friendly.

Previously my favourite pub in the village, but didn't have so nice an experience under the new owners. Stil a decent selection of beers.

Very fast service, great food. Steak was cooked perfectly (rare) and the plate was well filled for the price!

Lovely pub. Good beer and great food. My partner is coeliac and they really look after him. A good range of gluten free food.

Came for a meal, new owners Lee and Joe are lovely. Theyve only been here a week so they had what they called "a limited menu" this so called limited menu was absolutely brilliant. I had the lamb which was cooked to perfection. The food and service is 5*. I wish them all the best with their new venture.

Went here in july 2017 and it was closed for food… ended up down the road at the Anglers Rest which was fab.

What can I say but great atmosphere lovely food (my other half loved it so much we ate there 3 times in 4 days) and we could even take our dog with us would definitely recommend it.

Fantastic time spent staying at this village pub. Great friendly locals. Food tasty, beers excellent and the breakfast filling. We'll be back for sure. Just don't park on the slope in freezing conditions! Great stay and the best pub in the village.

Bit rough around the edges, but staff very welcoming and was very good with the kids. Good food, large portions and well kept beer. What more could you ask for on a cold wet October lunchtime.

Lovely pub. The food was delicious and the prawn cocktail was one of the nicest I've had. Would also recommend lamb shank. Would definitely go back.
