We enjoyed a delicious family meal here to celebrate our daughters recent engagement last night. The food was excellent all cooked fresh to order. The waitress was brilliant, she couldn't have done anymore for us, very attentive.
The evening was made extra special by the fabulous Santa Claus that they had there, he was amazing!

A amazing hotel food weddings rooms all very. Very nice and great staff.

This is a popular wedding venue. We are in the bistro whilst a wedding was on, and was not affected by it. The quality of the food was high and the service good. Overall it was good value for money.

The soup was off offered tomato instead. It came as tinned soup £5.95 with a white spongy thing that was supposed to be a freshly baked roll. The waitress insisted that the soup was hand made several times. Later another waiter told a nearby customer that they only had Heinz tomato soup! The food was over priced for ordinary fare and the waitresses attitude spoiled our anniversary meal.

Extremely poor. Went to celebrate a birthday and the dinners were ordered in advance. Turns out they sent an out of date menu to the organiser. One person could not get the dessert they ordered as there was none on the property. Food was not nice, had a burger which was barely cooked and tasted strange, did not eat it. I would not recommend and felt really awful for the party organiser as many of the group did not enjoy the experience.

We got married at Hotel Van Dyk in March 2018, and had the most perfect wedding day imagined.
From booking our wedding, we knew we were in safe hands. Michelle was our wedding co-ordinator and nothing was ever too much trouble for her or her team in the build up to our wedding and on the day. Fantastic, friendly and organised service.
When it came to our wedding day everything ran so smoothly and just how we imagined. Michelle worked closely with us to ensure our vision of our wedding day became a reality. Each member of staff at Van Dyk worked so hard to create our perfect day, from the friendly reception staff to the house keeping staff who ensured the rooms we wanted to get ready in were ready for us.
The food was amazing! All of our guests commented on how delicious the meal and canapés were! And the evening buffet was amazing too, we had hot roast pork sandwiches and roast potatoes!
The next morning we had a lovely buffet breakfast with our wedding guests, all seated together and there was something for everyone.
What a perfect day and all of our guests commented on how smoothly the day ran, the amazing meal and fantastic service they received.
We would also like to say thank you to Marc for the little touches that made our day extra special!
We would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Van Dyk to anyone looking for a wedding venue!

Very poor. 3 course fixed menu My partner is gluten and dairy free which they said they could accommodate prior to booking so fully aware. Sweet arrived, chocolate ice cream and brownie which we were assured was fine after raising concerns to be told it was sourced specifically for her needs. Several minutes later waitress ran back to our table and removed the food saying nothing, raised concerns with who we believed was the manager but turned out to be the owner who on the whole was very rude and aggressive in tone as if we had done something wrong, unbelievable really.

Very poor food quality and shocking service. Paid the bill before main course plates had been cleared. Not recommended.

Fantastic place lovely wine and some lovely food but let down by no staff training. Please train your staff… Etiquette is needed for such a lovely place… The Bowden room needs properly trained staff… Need help? … I will train them… Bought the most expensive bottle of red and had to carry it to my table…. Beef should be pink as specified… Soup lovely freshly made… Posh prawns tasted frozen not fresh.

Great place took a client for a meal here was great food, attentive staff and live piano music playing while we ate. Would highly recommend and the business/ loyalty club. (Review on behalf of Maverick Customwear Ltd)

Food was delicious, really tasty and cooked well. Decor in the bar area was classy. Service let the experience down — waited 30 mins from order to table for desserts and wait was as long for main course.

I’m shocked and appalled at the customer service and response from Van Dyk.
I purchased £100 worth of gift vouchers at Christmas for my parents anniversary as they got married at Van Dyk and they haven’t been back since so I thought it would be a nice present for them.
My parents recently informed me that they’d misplaced these vouchers as my father had unfortunately took these to the tip by accident.
I then emailed customer services and advised them on the situation and asked if they could help to which I had no response.
I then went into Van Dyk hotel and explained the circumstances, the woman on reception told me they’d have to wait for another member of staff to come in the following day as they couldn’t use the system.
The following day I had a phone call from a member of staff informing me that these vouchers would not be reimbursed, the comment was ‘My manager said, if you’d purchased these from a store and lost them, they wouldn’t be reimbursed and we’d be losing out’ as you can imagine, I wasn’t happy with this response as £100 is a lot of money to just not be used and the only loss is from me as these vouchers cannot be used in the future.
As I wasn’t happy with the response from a team member and not a manager, I then emailed stating I wasn’t happy and I’d appreciate anything they could do.
